Day 21: Costume

Mario and Peach are going out trick or treating. This is Peach's first time trick-or-treating, so Mario has to show her the ropes. Little did he realize that Peach was secretly a spoiled child in a super cat costume...

Well...It's November...But I am still determined to finish this up. So, here's more Tickletober fanfics, despite it being late. Hope you all enjoy!

Mario put the puffy costume onto himself, and put the little cap onto his head. He had taken a tomato costume that was bought at a store, and painted it to make it look darker and more ‘beefy’. What was Mario dressing up as? 

A meatball. Mario was dressing up as a meatball. Yes, it’s a little stereotypical…and silly…but come on! What’s more fitting than an Italian dressed as a meatball? 

*knock knock* 

Mario looked up. “Mario?” A sweet female voice spoke. Mario smiled excitedly and put on his red shoes to match the costume. He picked up his box of candy, and opened the door. “Hello Peach!” Mario greeted. 

“Hi Mar-” Peach paused for a moment and stared at the costume. “Uh…” 

Mario bit his lip. “I don’t think that’s…” 

Peach immediately interrupted Mario’s words by bursting out in loud laughter. She threw her head back, cackling while slamming her hand on the doorframe. “Whoa…careful, princess.” Mario muttered, dusting off the doorframe. “Ohoho my GOHOHOD!” She wheezed and doubled over, clapping her paws together. “Whahahat is THAT?!” she asked mid-laugh, leaning against the doorframe and holding her stomach. 

Mario’s confusion only grew. “What? It’s a meatball.” Mario told him. “AHA MEATBALL?!” Peach yelled out. “Ohohomygod…” She took one single glance at the costume, and wheezed all over again. “BAHAHAHAHAhahahaha! Ihihi CAHAHAN’T BREHEHEATH!” She doubled over once again, slapping her paw on her leg as she broke out in a silent fit of laughter. 

Well, now Mario was getting annoyed. “Wow…” He muttered, taking the red hat off his head. “Alright then.” 

Peach’s laughter paused. “Wahait-” She reached her hand out as Mario started to talk away. “Dohon’t go! Ihi’m sohohorry!” She told him, still struggling to keep her laughter under control. “Are you?” Mario asked, looking at her. 

Peach tried to keep a straight face…for just enough time to convince him that she’s sorry. “...Okay maybe I’m not.” Peach muttered. “But that’s okay!” She told him. 

“Is it?” Mario asked, raising his eyebrow. “Cause last I checked, costumes were supposed to be fun, and either partly, or entirely homemade.” Mario told her. “And seeing you right now…” Mario looked her up and down. “I think it’s safe to say you just grabbed a cat bell and called it a day.” Mario predicted. 

“Wehell, why wouldn’t I?” She asked. 

“Costumes are supposed to be fun, and a little silly.” Mario told her. 

“Well, I thought being a cat IS fun! And cats are cute unless you anger them.” Peach told him. 

“You sound like you’re prepared to fight for the candy.” Mario told her. 

“Well…yeah. Isn’t that what you do?” Peach asked. 

“What?! No!” Mario shook his head. “We never fight for our candy. You’re supposed to walk up to the door of a house, knock on the door, and say ‘Trick or treat’ to the person when they open the door. Then, that person at the door gives you candy, chocolate or chips.” Mario explained. “Wait…That’s it?” Peach asked. 

“Yeah! Part of the fun is making the costume, while the other part is getting the candy from people’s houses and trading them with friends.” Mario explained. 

Peach smiled a bit. “So, does this count as a costume?” She asked, presenting her catsuit. 

Mario smiled a bit. “I mean…” He shrugged his shoulders. “I guess? If you’re not gonna be hot walking around in that suit, then sure.” Mario told her. 

“Oh right:” Peach cleared her throat. “Trick or Treat!” She cheered. 

Mario smiled brightly. “That’s perfect!” He reacted. “Actually, my papa used to say Trick or Treat in Italian a lot. It sounded like this:” He cleared his throat as well. “dolcetto o scherzetto!” He said. 

Peach stared at Mario for a few seconds, before giggling. “I’m not gonna try.” Peach admitted. 

“It’s fine.” Mario replied. 

“So…” Peach looked at the candy in Mario’s hand. 

“Oh! Right…” Mario handed her a couple small chocolate bars. “There you go.” 

Peach smiled brightly as she stared at the candy. But when her eyes looked up at the box compared to the piddly amount of candy she got from it, she grew a little selfish. “Thank you.” She put it in her bag and started to walk away. Mario looked a little confused. “Where are you going?” Mario asked. 

Peach suddenly turned herself back towards Mario, and ran up to the door. “Trick or treat!” She cheered just as enthusiastically as the first time. 

Mario looked at her for a couple seconds, before laughing. “Alright, fine…But only this once.” Mario gave Peach a couple more of the chocolate bars. 

“Thanks!” She cheered happily. 

“Unfortunately for you, the person at the door would usually never let you have more after the first time.” Mario told her. 

“What?!” Peach whined. “But why?” 

“Because you already went to their house!” Mario told her. Peach looked at Mario for a few odd seconds…before walking away from the door. Mario just laughed a bit, and closed the door, letting her do her thing. Just as he predicted, Peach showed up to the door and knocked on it. When Mario opened the door, she held up her bag. “Trick or Treat!” She cheered. 

Mario looked at Peach with an amused look. “You done now?” He asked. 

“What?” Peach looked at the bag, and held it closer. “Candy?” 

“Peach…” Mario muttered. 

“Pleeeeeeease?” Peach began to plead like a little kid. “This is my first time…” She whined. 

As adorable as it was, he had already fell for it once… “Sorry Peach. Fool me once, shame on you. Try to fool me twice, and I’ll never fall for it.” He warned. 

“Wha-?!” Peach dropped her jaw with surprise. Did…Did Mario just tell her NO?! What in the world?! How could he deny her more candy?! Doesn’t she deserve it?! Peach stared at him for a couple more moments, before closing her bag. “Fine.” She huffed, putting her bag on the ground. “‘Trick’ it is then.” She declared. 

Mario blinked with surprise. “Sorry, ‘trick’?” Mario clarified, his smile dropping in confusion. 

Suddenly, Mario felt as his body, dressed as the meatball, was tackled to the ground inside the house. “You didn’t give me a treat, so I’m giving you a trick instead.” She wiggled her clawed paws at him. 

“P-Peach?! N-Now hold on-” Mario shrieked as the paws immediately dove for his belly. “eeeEEEP! Mario squealed and wiggled around. “PEEHEHEHEACH! HAHAhahahaha!” 

“What? You denied me a treat! In a rather rude way too.” Peach told him. 

“Whyhyhy THIHIHIHIS?!” Mario reacted. 

“Cause why NOT this?!” Peach shot right back. “A lot of tricks I usually think of, take preparation and secrecy! But luckily for me, tickling is a trick that has none of that!” Peach explained. 

“Fihihine, yohohohou gohot mehehe!” Mario told her. “Ah ah ah~” She waved her pawed finger. “Not yet, little beefyball.” She told him. “I wanna make sure you never deny me a treat ever again.” Peach explained. 

“Nehever gonna happen.” Mario shot back. 

“Oh?” She smirked. “Very well then…” She looked at the conveniently-placed fluffy meatball, and noticed it covered up Mario’s belly. But fortunately, that wasn’t the only tickle spot he had. “Have it your way, meatball man.” Peach sat on his lower legs, and removed his shoes with little issue. 

“waAH- Peach?!” Mario gasped and tugged on his feet. “Oh no…” He muttered. 

“Cause until then…” Peach started to draw a single line up his left foot. 

“eeeEEeeEEK!” Mario winced and covered his mouth as a crooked smile grew on his lips. 

“This trick won’t end 🎵until I saaaay soooo~🎵” Peach sing-songed playfully before tickling with all 4 main fingers. 

“eeeEEEK! No-NONAHAHAHAHA!” Mario cackled, wiggling around on the ground. “HAHahahaha! Stahahap ihihit!” He giggled.

“Since someone doesn’t wanna give more candies…” Peach looked at his other foot. “I wonder how ticklish THIS foot is?” She fluttered a finger against the exposed ball of his foot. 

“WahaitWAHAHAIT! NAHAHAHahahaha- Not thehehehehere! PLEHEASENOHOHO!” Mario laughed. 

“Not where?” Peach brought her fingers higher and higher. “Not heeere?” She tickled right where his under-toes were. 

“eeEEEEHEEEEEP!” Mario wheezed and cackled. “GAHAHAHAhahaha! Whahahat dihid I juhuhust sahay?!” Mario reacted. 

“Well, you were just confirming to me that I shouldn’t tickle these little tootsies here.” She told him, fluttering against the big toe. 

Mario let out a childish squeal as the big toe was only touched…and when Peach actually FLUTTERED THERE?! Mario’s laughter grew completely silent after that. Only then, did Peach actually stop. Mario was left laying on the floor, breathing heavily while trying to get the tickles off his feet. 

Meanwhile, Peach was watching Mario recover, just eating chocolates from the box he had previously dropped to the ground when tackled. By the time Mario had gotten up and stopped her, she had eaten about 15 mini chocolate bars from the box. Even though everything in Mario’s mind screamed ‘Selfish brat’, Mario NEVER said it out loud, for fear of more tickles. But…that’s what he gets for arguing against the princess of the mushroom kingdom.

Halloween is less than one week away, so here’s a throwback to this classic Scamp costume!

Steve and Eddie are the kind of couple that never does couples Halloween costumes.

Eddie cares far too much about Halloween and spends most of the year planning and haunting thrift stores around town waiting for the perfect piece of that year's costume to appear. He's going to be bloody and spooky and probably incredibly niche and nothing, not even his incredibly hot boyfriend, is going to change his Halloween rituals.

Steve on the other hand has never put too much thought in his costumes. For him, Halloween has always been more about the parties and while the dressing up is fun he usually just throws something together from his closet at the last minute. It isn't until Robin comes along that things change. She starts making him do yearly couples costumes with her, but they're always either the silly, cheap ones from Spirit Halloween or niche in the opposite direction of Eddie's choices.

After their first Halloween together they decide to do a costume reveal every year like a bride/groom reveal. They go about their Halloween traditions as usual but try to keep any shopping or conversations about the topic a secret. Both of them try and figure out what the other had planned but they're both very dedicated to the bit and hide their shit well. Robin, of course, is also in on it since she's conceiving most of Steve's costumes and tries to come up with something either extremely slutty or extremely goofy to fuck with Eddie.

Whatever gross make-out session she has to witness is worth it for the picture she gets of bloody Edward Scissor Hands stealing a sip out of Sparkly Slutty Ketchup Steve's solo cup at the end of the night.
