So bad news - I was laid off from my fulltime job at Ubisoft. Or well, they shut the whole studio down. My severance package is pretty good so I should be okay financially for a while, but it's been a rough few days nevertheless. What do the creeps do on a “normal” day?

work and hang out, mostly!

since work is like half of someones life, ill mostly use this to describe their jobs and hobbies/stuff they do in their freetime. ill organize it by groups !

PROXIES (kate, toby, tim, brian)

Kate and Toby work on a farm cuz they need to get paid under the table for everything. Tim is a trucker, Brian is in carpentry

Toby spends a lot of of his free time just messing around. normal day looks like waking up, immediately trying to check who wants to hang out with him, then trying to do something fun, whether it be working out or bothering his friends or fixing stuff up or learning a new skill

kate just kinda follows toby around or spends her time walking around, putting up pages, sleeping, watching DVDs toby buys. normal day looks like waking up, being sluggish for hours at a time, eating, going for a run, watching movies, and whatever toby forces her to do

tim and brian work a LOT so a normal day to them is work, check on toby/kate, go to their shared apartment, eat, watch a movie, sleep, repeat. almost monotonous, but they prefer the stable routine over the unpredictability their life used to be under slendy

INFECTED (clocky, jeff, nina, liu, jane)

first arc, clocky is a waitress/bartender. days looked like sleeping in the barn, going to work, coming to the proxy cabin till toby irritates her, going to the barn, making art, listening to music, whatever. she eventually gets a tattoo apprenticeship and rents her very own studio apartment! still dedicates her days to work, friends, art, and taking it easy

jeff's days r kinda sad. he spends a lot of time just lounging around, fast food, music, movies, wasting time. he goes to a lot of underground shows where he can wear masks or get away with ppl thinking his face is SFX, but he cant really hang out in public half the time. lives in the barn. a medical mask goes a long way for him!

nina hops between a ton of jobs at first (waitress, hot topic, spencers, was even a receptionist at a hotel, just random stuff in general) before she ends up going to cosmetology school and falls in love with it, now does nails/hair fulltime. her days look like calling her friends, going out everyday(brunch, nightlife, shopping, etc), decorating her apartment, lots of fashion stuff, etc etc.

liu works a pretty basic office job just to get by. it was the first job he could get after wasting all his spendings in a downwards spiral to find jeff in alabama, but its quiet, simple, and the people are nice to him. he mostly does that and very simple stuff...puzzles, gardening, reading, films. very grandpa of him

jane starts as a private investigator, so her days look like being swarmed with work, going undercover, hours of research and stress. no time for hobbies, just work and taking care of her wife mary. eventually, she decides its too much for her (after liu hires her to investigate nina) and mary encourages a new career path - SO she becomes a college professor for law/criminal justice/something along those lines! days look like volunteering, teaching, organizing, walks in the park with mary and sally, gardening, just a much softer, cozier life

ZALGOIDS (jack, lazari, ann, lulu, dina)

jack 'works' as a human remains disposer on the dark web, so his income is Plentiful and he doesnt have to spend a dime on food, since he just eats the corpses he's disposing of. his days look like listening to audiobooks/documentaries, cooking for people he loves, learning as much as he can, tending to the proxies(as 'rent' to stay in slendys forest), teaching lazari as much as he can, spending time with his friends, gardening

lazari lives with jack! he almost homeschools her, so she spends a lot of time learning, drawing, dressing up, watching cartoons, gardening. i think itd be cute if she befriended ben cuz theyre abt the same age, but theyre like...so different. maybe this is how she starts spending her free time idk LOL

ann and lulu are VERY zombie-like. they literally just sit in the hospital/lake are all day long, roaming and talking and dozing in and out of reality. when the proxies come to check on them, theyll chat, but its nothing else. it's not really 'boring' for them, cuz theyre so trapped in timeloops and stuff, so yk

dina is just tearing apart the forest and trying to survive. she cant leave it because the slender pages keep zalgoids trapped in the forest, but she refuses to work with the proxies - so she's constantly on the run, constantly killing and eating animals, constantly in fights when shes trying to take down the pages, etc. eventually she'll settle down, but thats for later

PARANORMAL (ben, sally)

ben is chronically online im sorry. genuinely spends every waking moment online, but like...literally inside the computer. he loves the internet, loves online cultures, loves all you can learn about it, loves drama and causing problems. his days look like the internet, video games, and hanging out with jeff (and maybe toby or jack)

sally lives with jane. her days are pretty simple, just wandering around janes house, the neighborhood, whatever. watching cartoons, coloring, talking to mary (janes stay at home wife), whatever.

Elmer Crowell: Sculptor, Painter, Decoy Maker

A. Elmer Crowell (1862-1952) of East Harwich, Massachusetts, is known as one of the greatest decoy makers and bird carvers of all time. The lifelike quality of his three-dimensional portrayals of American wildfowl is unsurpassed. He acquired his intimate understanding of avian anatomy and plumage patterns over the course of a lifetime spent observing and hunting Cape Cod’s abundant indigenous and migratory bird populations.

Before establishing his carving studio in 1912, he worked as a hunting guide, camp manager, market gunner, cranberry farmer, and exterminator. Crowell was inspired to start his studio by the passage of the latest in a series of federal and state hunting laws aimed at bird conservation. He decided to focus fulltime on making decoys and decorative bird “models” for sale. Although Crowell had carved decoys for his own use since he was a teenager, and later for a “who’s who” of well-to-do patrons, he found a new market for his decoys and ornamental bird carvings in collectors and tourists who appreciated them as exquisite works of art.

The ten works showcased in this online exhibition have been selected from Shelburne Museum’s collection of more than 150 carvings, paintings, and drawings by Crowell. Most works were given to the Museum in 1966, by Mrs. Stuart M. Crocker in memory of her late husband, who was a lifelong friend of Crowell and a major collector of his ornamental birds. Each object was chosen because it either demonstrates his talents as a sculptor and painter or is a milestone in his artistic career.

I'm thinking about Powerloader being a little skrunkly minx to Ectoplasm, his little "Kehehe" gremlin laugh and his smug grin. Thinking about how Ectoplasm will meet Higari's sexual innuendoes with a calm hum and an intrigued raised brow. How even though they've been married for years Higari still finds himself marvelled at the beauty of Ectoplasm's face: the crows feet etched into the corners of his eyes that crinkle when he's especially happy and the impressive shape of his jaw. Thinking about Higari's giant hands that are patterned with calluses from years of hard dedication to his work that hold Ectoplasm's with such care (Ectoplasms hands look dwarfed in comparison to his own). Thinking about Higari hating sweet things, he can't stand them, but he's memorized all the ones Ectoplasm especially likes and if he finds any in a shop he's in, he always buys him a bug without Ectoplasm asking him too. Thinking about them sparing together, perhaps to test out Ectoplasm's prosthetics whenever they get replaced once they're extremely damaged, how Higari is on the same power level as Endeavour - yet Ecto's brains balances out his strength nicely - thinking about Higari pinning Ectoplasm to the training room floor and making a dirty joke with a grin that tells Ectoplasm he is very aware of what he's doing, and Ectoplasm just snorts up at him playfully

Thinking about Ectoplasm enjoying his quite, private space, how he willingly opens up that space so that there is room for Higari even when he needs to vent about work. Thinking about them cozied up in bed and Ectoplasm will teasingly narrate whatever book he is engrossed in to Higari. Higari telling him he's a dork, but Ectoplasm sees the way his lip curls upward in a smile. Thinking about Ectoplasm leaving a fresh, clean jumper out for Higari when it's especially cold because he knows Higari hates winter, and when Higari ends up crawling his way ontop of Ectoplasm - effectively trapping him to the sofa - he doesn't mind. Thinking about Ectoplasm's hands idly brushing through Higari's hair and scratching his scalp, picking out bits of grit and dirt and fussing how he needs a bath. Thinking about Ectoplasm brushing Higari's fringe aside and being able to see his eyes, how they're not young and full of energy eyes, they're tired but caring, kind and patient with age. Ectoplasm joking how it's a miracle Higari can see where he's going with how scruffy his hair is, but deep down, he actually likes Higari's hair a lot - it makes seeing Higari's eyes feel all the more special

Thinking about the two getting to recover in hospital together after a villain attack, how Higari would make paper airplanes out of a little notepad he always keeps on his person (mostly for jotting down ideas for new gadgets to make in the studio) with little messages on them and send them flying over to Ectoplasm across the room. Thinking about Ectoplasm picking out the dark chocolates from his "Get well soon!" gift from the teachers at UA and tossing them to Higari, who he knows loves dark chocolate. Thinking about them being cleared from the hospital on the same day - both with a few new scars and stitches and Higari with a bruised eye. Nothing fatal, it'll heal, he reasons - then Higari jokes how with Ectoplasm's prosthetic legs and his swollen eye they almost make a full pirate, and Ectoplasm lets out a light laugh, rolling whatever pupils a man without can

Thinking about them retiring from hero work and becoming teachers fulltime, about them growing old together and jokingly pointing out the others first grey hairs . Thinking about them buying a house somewhere quite and warm in the country to spend lazy afternoons in the holidays, doing their silly little old men dances in the kitchen to their buzz of their radio (Higari prefers radios to modern speakers)

Thinking bout them sleeping away a morning because they deserve it in their retirement, thinking about Higari clinging to Ectoplasm in his sleep like a koala bear, and how Ectoplasm has grown accustomed to the comforting weight of Higari at his side, and Higari in turn has grown used to the sound of Ectoplasm's relaxed breathing

i missed my cars art too fr, but i finally went on my inevitable furry art training arc 💪 i return rejuvenated!!

youre right, i looked back at some of my really old stuff recently and its crazy how far ive come. i always feel like i progress wayyyy slower than most artists (i am a hobbyist after all), so being able to finally see improvement with hindsight is such a gift. my only art goals are to be able to communicate my ideas in a way that makes me happy- any improvement is a very useful bonus XD. im very glad you agree, and even happier that you noticed.

oo!! software!! this is a good question, because it's changed since i was last drawing cars!! [still using a pc + my little 2009 wacom pentablet. im shocked it hasnt died yet.] i swapped over to Clip Studio Paint fulltime in 2022 [previously used SAI2]. i had a weird living situation for a while and had to use my ipad for a time, and i got soooo sick of the limitations of procreate that i swapped to CSP. i realized it was time to put on my big boy pants and dig in to learn more complicated software, and im very glad i took the time to do so. i wasnt able to draw nearly as much as id like in 2022-23, but in april-may 2024, i spent time reorganizing my CSP on my PC with custom brushes/materials/tool settings, a custom workflow, custom color palettes, custom hotkeys, and then training to relearn the muscle memory for efficient, uninterrupted work with the new setup. by july i was back to drawing comfortably. CSP has opened many doors for creative freedoms with its capabilities. i cannot recommend it enough. (also, ive gotten bigger on references. another pleasant inevitability.)

art streams! ...i actually havent done any in years, because of the aforementioned weird living situation. i totally fell out of the habit. i used to stream fairly regularly to twitch, picarto, and discord, but alas. (nowadays, once in a while ill sit in discord with a screenshare open, if my old CPU doesnt scream and wail at me too much and crash the stream that is. i could look into doing discord screenshares in the cars server again perhaps?)

went to an art talk my bf hosted at a studio hes part of an someone called me classist for the old adage of "if u dont want to monetize some parts of your art and make money at a day job or only sell some aspects of your art that can be an option" because apparently... its classist and implies artists who sell their art full time are.. sell outs? even though that isnt at all what i said? it just kinda. floors me. it defo felt like she was... pulling on what was clearly a sore spot as a full time artist that she was bandaiding over with self assurance but. just. ma'am. what?

a) you realize it could also be reframed that its classist to assume everyone can commit to a full time art practice without a safety net regardless of if they make safe sellable art? also.. b) i... grew up poor. i am that person. I went to art school entirely out of my own pocket and loans, while helping my family with money and working? idk what her stories but im just like?? bro its not a class issue its a priorities and life balancing issue. if u wanna be a fulltime artist and need to """sell out""" (not smthn i think exists as a general thing u do as an artist so much as as an indivudual against your individual morals soo) to do so because you arent old money wealthy tHATS FINE. if that makes u happy enough fuck yea dude. I was just sayin if that DOESNT make you happy; there are other options?

A couple weeks ago, I was in a hit-and-run accident; I'm okay, but my car is still in the shop.

So I guess it's prime time to announce *** I have a Ko-fi page! *** This serves as a digital tip jar of sorts, if you enjoy my work and wish to show patronage!

I've been able to borrow my partner's car in the meantime (I'd really be SOL without it; I literally had to help transport a bunch of puppets to FedEx the next day; yep, that's a shark resting atop a greeting card stand)! Between my fulltime dayjob & studio job downtown, I commute a LOT and must have dependable transportation of my own.

20. Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom? My girlfriend Hollywood Studios and I are having an ugly fight right now about how she keeps trying to reinvent herself but then she burns everything that was still good about herself. So since we're on a break I guess it's Animal Kingdom since they at least have Merry Menagerie. Also there's no sign of us getting Citizens of Hollywood back yet. Or really much of any of the fulltime entertainment that there was. Or I could just go spend my time in Epcot and Magic Kingdom. Again, ugly fight with my girlfriend and I hope we can fix it but it's not looking good. Streets of America was the first hit to me but I was willing to overlook that and now we're REALLY pushing it.

35. Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party or Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party? This is really really tough. I love Boo to You. I love that parade. The energy is amazing. But I actually like Very Merry's actual party and the food. And parades do not make the entire party but Boo to You is... amazing. Really amazing. It's good and for those who haven't seen it? Nah that parade is like a party within itself. It's GOOD. My fiancé had one of the Haunted Mansion Dancers get up in his face and then, to the music, wish him a happy birthday cause yep it was his birthday. He had no idea that this is how a parade can potentially get. Oogie Boogie gave us a private dance moment. But the rest of the party isn't as wild as the parade is. The food is good but it's just good. The trick or treating is just standard candy you can get at home. And the character roster in both parties have been cut. So maybe it is Not so Scary begrudgingly. It seems like new things are being added each year... though THEY KEEP TAKING. I'd probably keep my eye on Jollywood Nights, to be honest. Cause um. Jiminy and Pinocchio are there. >.> I brake for characters that are pre 1960.

85. Wishes or Illuminations? Wishes my beloved and you KNOW I would answer this. Hell I answered these out of order. Some pieces from Wishes are on the playlist I use to relax/sleep with. So uh. I got bitten by the Disney Parks bug when I decided I was tired of people stealing my birthdays to do things for themselves. I said forget it and I went there to celebrate my 21st. I was on new medication for my migraines so no Drink Around the World. But I asked if I could, for my gift, I could do Cinderella's Royal Table. And somehow we had wandered into really great spots to sit, relax, and watch Wishes. That was it. And I already had an emotional attachment to Jiminy Cricket ANYWAY. I already loved the Blue Fairy ANYWAY. So I just sat there and... yeah. And then right as the park was emptying out I excused myself, got the cd, and that was it. Favorite fireworks show. Still gets me when I play the music. I'm still crying over it.

Let's Get Haunted is an all-female, independent podcast produced, written, recorded, and edited completely by two best friends named Nat and Aly. A true "DIY Podcast", Let's Get Haunted started on the floor of Nat's bathroom with the worst sound quality one could ever imagine. From there, the hosts began teaching themselves about all facets of podcasting, from SEO and algorithms to audio engineering and software programs. Despite both working fulltime "day jobs", Nat & Aly have earned a reputation for putting out unique and interesting content at any cost, even when they had no fixed recording location and had to lug mics and cords between the homes of Nat's Tinder dates to record episodes.

What began as a hobby with less than 5,000 streams per month in 2019, has since grown into a loving community of misfits, hellbent on tackling the dark side of the world together, over 4 million streams strong worldwide. 

While the subject matter of Let's Get Haunted focuses around the paranormal, the "Haunties" - as its community is called - channels its energy into creating positivity out of "haunted" (aka negative) situations.

Each episode centers around an intriguing mystery in history from around the world. Past episodes have featured a wide variety of guests and interviews with experts such as scientists, war veterans, ex-CIA operatives, professors, comedians, and Company CEOs.

Before diving into the juicy topic at hand, co-hosts Aly and Nat kick off each episode with banter about their personal lives and things that matter to them that week, a segment coined "Personal Hauntings". Despite any misfortunes or frustrations the week has brought about, LGH seeks to find the humor in any situation. From the time Aly was attacked in a parking lot by a guy wielding a sword to the time Nat went to jail, Let's Get Haunted doesn't shy away from sharing the more outrageous moments in their personal lives.

After going through their "Personal Hauntings", the hosts then dive into the episode topic of the day, or the "Haunting Du Jour". From stories of the Cold War to cultural folklore to cryptids, you're guaranteed to never be bored and always learn something new!

Above all, LGH seeks to remind the world that, though we're all a little bit haunted on the inside (we all have our trials and demons to overcome), that doesn't mean that we can't pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and soldier on.
