@ingravinoveritas correct me if I'm wrong. As far as I remember, M and D, as representatives of the old school, talked about “coordinators of intimate scenes” and so on. respecting boundaries as a surprising new trend? That is, they (as actors) didn’t really need to push everyone out the door.

do we know if there was in fact an intimacy coordinator used on this scene? I keep intending to check the credits. Also I love that it was a closed set because OF COURSE it was. It's an incredibly heavy scene - the heaviest in the entire series. So much emotion required from the actors. As actors, they deserve a closed set to get to the place they need to be in and exist there. I would say it was closed more for that then the kissing.

@irvinis @martinsharmony I'm not sure if it was ever confirmed whether an intimacy coordinator was used for this scene (either on the day of shooting, or in rehearsals beforehand). Intimacy coordinators are fairly standard on film sets these days as far as I know, but it sounds like it was only Rob (producer), Gavin (cinematographer), and Michael and David on the actual day. Which brings up so many questions about everything, like did Michael and David say they didn't need an intimacy coordinator, or was the kiss choreographed a certain way but then once the were kissing, just took off running with it ("it kept on going" was the exact phrase, I believe).

But I also wonder if the "This is happening!" moment almost went a bit like this...

That realization of that third thing that comes into being when Michael and David are together--and that would no doubt be even more powerful and noticeable in a deeply intimate situation like this. And if that is the case, then I would agree with your assertion @martinsharmony that perhaps the set was closed for more than just the kissing. Michael and David are professionals and superbly talented actors, without question. But it does make you wonder if they went to an intimate place emotionally--not just as the characters, but with each other--that was ultimately what necessitated that closed set.

We can't know exactly what Rob or Gavin saw in those takes that seemingly no longer exist (God, how I wish we could see them...). But even just this little insight that Rob has given is enough to make you wonder. So longing for the day when the SAG strike is resolved and Michael can finally tell us (mostly) everything we've been dying to know...

Starlight London Previews

So according to the website, all performances in June are "Previews" - this means there'll be an official press night presumably like 30th June. Sunday 30th June is totally sold out, and usually Sundays have shows at 1pm and 5.30pm, there's no 1pm show on the 30th, and there's no shows on monday or tuesday... makes me think 30th June is press night.

This means there won't be any official reviews until July... but also means there may not be any press material, official photos etc, until then. I'm sure there'll be sneak peeks released and of course plenty of fan info leaked out! But the big official polished stuff we're all waiting for? May be a month away still!

if i had a dollar for every time the director threw a hissy fit because someone grabbed the wrong prop during a performance this run, i’d have one dollar, which is one dollar too many

update: i swallowed my anxiety and sent the director a message basically going “you’re blowing this out of proportion and this is really nobody’s fault and we shouldn’t get mad about it” except y’know, in a more professional manner

#for context: a character is supposed to grab an ice pick and hold it up like a weapon at one point #(she does not USE it as a weapon she just holds it like that) actor grabbed the spoon for scooping ice instead #because she didn’t see the ice pick on the cart then and so she improv’d.#director got mad #made some comments to me about it and then was like ‘i’m going to my car’#and then he just straight up left the building for like. 10-15 minutes.#and once he came back he went on about it at length and i’m just standing there silently like ‘sir this is a wendy’s’#and now he wants to make the pick up rehearsal next week a full dress to be petty #like that’s literally what he said to me.#like… what?#stage management #director has also made it clear in previous interactions that he does not want to hear my opinions about staging so. idk.#to be clear he IS a good director and has taught me about stage managing but like also. what the fuck is this.#anyway

With the release of From The Rehearsal Room - Tokyo to Ramin's youtube I finally, finally, continue and finish this side project I'm doing.

Initially, I used AI to mastered it because the first version I got from bilibili were not in good quality but I wasn't satisfied and I found the much better quality. But with Ramin uploaded it to youtube, I re did all the mastering just with audacity for both Part 1 and Part 2. The Part 2 is still from the better version I found from bilibili, by the way.

What you need to do is just download the file and put it on your music player. The metadata is all completed as if it's whole legit album. Enjoy, guys!!

And I'm being weird so all the lyrics that are put there are from my listening although I still use what I found online but I still listened and compared. They made few ad-libs and changes and I notice because for the songs that I wasn't familiar, the lyric that I found online and what they sang was slightly different. Perhaps they sing the newer version of the lyrics or mistakes? Even each Sheytoons songs they sing one in both parts differ from the ones I found online.

JUST FOUND OUT I GET TO HANG AROUND WITH THE KIDS IN THE HALL BACKSTAGE THE FULL DAY OF THEIR TORONTO SHOW WOO!!!!!!!

#i was just on a zoom with bruce talking about the doc and he was like ''would it be helpful for you to get behind the scenes video?''#(like we are already planning on doing interviews with everyone but also having me around while they're rehearsing and getting ready)#and i'm literally out here like ???? that would be a dream but also am i allowed to ask that???#and bruce is like ''yes of course you can follow us the whole day if you want to''#and there's even going to be a second camera person they're already having film backstage content (not for the doc but i can use it)#so like honestly i don't even have to focus on getting footage bc there will be another footage source of the same backstage moments #it's so surreal that it was this easy to get backstage with the KITH #like i was fully expecting bruce to be like ''sorry no there's just too many people we want to focus on the show'' (which would be valid)#and then i'd inevitably talk to scott about it and have him be like ''no i want jess backstage'' like an ask your mom vs ask your dad thing #but nope i'm just going to be following them around the whole time???#god it's going to be so wild seeing the full KITH together for the first time bc of course there's the three i haven't met yet #but also my mom just pointed out i've really only interacted with both bruce and scott in the same space a handful of times #and i haven't talked to them together since march. and haven't really had a long interaction with both since last year #so even tho i'm super close with both it'll be interesting seeing how the dynamic goes especially with the other 3 i don't know well

The only recent reference I've seen to the Mrs. Chen dance scene has been a complaint in a post response but I'm not like other girls, that was perhaps my favorite part of the movie, exactly the kind of bonkersness (bonkershood?) I was hoping to see
