Get Ready With Me: A Bold Holiday Lip

the holiday season is here, and there’s no better time to rock a statement lip! my latest “get ready with me” features a bold holiday lip using the stunning “charming carnation” xl lip liner, paired with a festive, glowing makeup look. here’s a full breakdown of everything i used to create this chic and seasonal vibe!

SKINCARE PREP

a hydrated base is key, so i started with the ordinary hyaluronic acid + b5 serum. this product is terrific for plump, dewy skin, especially during the colder months.

FLAWLESS BASE

for a natural and even complexion, i used the honest beauty ccc tinted moisturizer. it provides lightweight coverage with a gorgeous glow—perfect for letting the bold lip steal the show.

EYES THAT POP

i kept the eye merry and bright:

-revlon eyeshadow palette in seductive: i used the lightest shade which is perfect for a subtle shimmer.

- benefit cosmetics mascara fan fest: for long, fluttery lashes that frame the eyes beautifully.

BRIGHT & FRESH UNDEREYES

to banish any signs of sleepiness, i applied the catrice undereye brightener, which blends seamlessly for a refreshed look.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder: To set the undereye brightener and keep it looking fresh all day long.

CHEEKS

a pop of color on the cheeks ties everything together! i used:

e.l.f. cosmetics putty blush in turks and caicos: a creamy, coral-toned blush

HAIR DETAILS

no holiday look is complete without polished hair. i tamed flyaways with the frontal queen wax stick, and added a touch of the color wow root touch up powder for seamless hairline perfection.

THE ACCESSORIES

to elevate the look, i added the edelweiss backdrop earrings from shop the banannie diaries. these earrings are the perfect statement piece for holiday parties or gatherings.

THE BOLD LIP

the star of the show is the kreizi beauty “charming carnation” xl lip liner. its creamy formula and vibrant shade make it the perfect choice for a bold holiday lip.

I've been meaning to share this and finally got 'round to it. Occasionally, I write some review/recommendations for a group I'm in. This was my five cents on Rivals.

Rivals is pretty much everything the press said it would be, and then some, although it doesn’t start out that way. The first two episodes are slow and light on content as characters are introduced and plot points are set. But hang with it—the story really picks up from the third episode, when everything begins falling into place.

I’d been looking forward to this series mostly because it stars the deliciously hairy and handsome Aidan Turner, delightful in the role of Declan O’Hara, hard-hitting journalist and TV presenter fresh off his job with the BBC. He’s lured into indie TV by Lord Tony Baddingham, played by the always-entertaining David Tennant, who is terribly, wonderfully evil in his role as the director of Corinium Television, the biggest company in Rutshire County, where the story takes place. The other main character, Rupert Campbell Black, (Alex Hassell), is a filthy-old-money-rich and famous ex-Olympian, cad, and MP, as well as the Most Handsome Man in all of England™. Lord Tony has hatched a plan to ruin Rupert (the two are sworn enemies) by inviting him to be interviewed live on Declan’s new talk show. Intrepid journalist that he is, Declan has unearthed the dirtiest dirt on Campbell-Black, and he’s just itching to smear him in an effort to keep him from sniffing around Taggie, his beautiful, too-young-for-Rupert daughter.

Add to this mix Declan’s flirtatious and frustrated wife, Maud (Victoria Smurfit), as well as a cast of other colorful, endearing characters, all tangentially connected to Corinium, and the stage is set for all sorts of accurate-for-the-era shenanigans, some of which may be shocking to viewers who weren’t around for this decade. Think British Dallas or Dynasty with nudity and sex, backstabbing and adultery and corruption, and a much better sense of humor. There is full-frontal nudity (Alex Hassell), and many, many pairs of breasts, so be prepared for that.

David Tennant has the bitchiest and best lines, and I laughed good and long at those zingers. Tony is a truly detestable character, but it is difficult to hate him, because David is so wonderful. My favorite scene (barring any naked Aidan Turner) in all eight episodes is when Lord Tony throws an epic tantrum. I’ll leave it there. (FYI, the final episode ends abruptly on a cliffhanger, as the series only goes about halfway through the novel by Jilly Cooper.)

Speaking of Mr. Turner, we get to see quite a bit of him (just not that bit), as well as a huge, ridiculous mustache à la Hal Linden in Barney Miller. The mustache is so big, it kind of makes up for the bit of Turner we don’t get to see… a girl can dream, right? Turner, as Declan, appears mostly naked in the kitchen while getting ready for work; in the tub, scrubbing up; and in various rooms of his home, satisfying his wife. I shed a tear of horny gratitude that television producers have finally refrained from touching Turner’s chest hair, save to comb it, perhaps—those lucky, lucky set groomers.

In a nutshell, the show is a snapshot of 1980s English society folk, framed around the power struggles within the independent television industry. It’s good, silly fun—trash—in a word, that is well aware it’s trash. In fact, it wears that badge with pride. While actual trash has zero value, Rivals manages to sprinkle some sharp and insightful social critique in among all the teased hair, orgies, blue mascara, and insane parties of Rutshire County.

Here’s hoping for a second season.

We all know that I adore Fenty Beauty. I adore Fenty's range from their eyes, lips and face base products and constantly recommend them to friends and family when they want to try something new. Recently my Full Frontal Mascara from Fenty ran out and I really wanted to get a new one so I was browsing the Boot's site and I found a gift set on promotion that included the mascara. It also came with some of my other favourite products so I decided why not grab the set and restock. Today we are chatting about the Fenty Beauty Limited Edition Gloss & Gleam Star Gift - 4 x Full Size Bestsellers , £37.00.

Let's chat about the products included in this set. Let's start with the Full Size Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo in Lightning Dust/Fire Crystal (2 X 3.5G). This highlighter is a staple Fenty product and when you mention Fenty to anyone 9 times out of 10 someone mentions a highlighter product. Lightning Dust & Fire Crystal is my favourite highlighter duo because you get 2 pink silver toned highlighters in a cute compact. The highlighter on the left side is a more sheen highlighter formula and on the right side is a more intense baked formula. Adore this highlighter and glad I have a fresh one because my older one looks so tragic and needs some reviving.

Next up we have the Full Frontal Mascara in Cuz I’m Black 12.5ml. This mascara is amazing, it curled and lifts your lashes to give you a gorgeous full lash finish. It lasts all day, doesn't smudge and honestly works like a charm. The mascara brush a double brush with one side wide and the other side thin, designed to volumize your lashes on one side and lift your lashes on the other side. This brush was such a game changer that a lot of mascara brushes copy this design now. Glad I have a fresh one in my collection.

Now we have a brand new product which I have never tried before Full Size Flypencil Longwear Pencil Eyeliner in Cuz I’m Black (0.3g). I have heard so many good things about Fenty's pencil eyeliner that I was excited to try it out. This liner comes in intense matte, metallic, shimmer and glitter finishes and Cuz I'm Black is a gorgeous jet black shade. These liners are longwearing , water resistant, creamy smooth formula that is really easy to build up or blend out. You can also smudge the liner to create a smokey eye vibe. I was really impressed with this liner and want to get some brighter liner shades.

Lastly we have my favourite Fenty Beauty product ever!! We have the Full Size Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer in Fu$$y (9ml). Fu$$Y was my first ever gloss bomb shade and to this day is still my favourite colour ever. It's a beautiful pink shimmer gloss and it just transforms any makeup look and makes your lips look full and luscious. Recently I ran out of my full size gloss bomb in this shade and only had the mini size left so I was really excited when I realised this box came with a full sized gloss bomb.

Overall this gift set was a total success and I love all the products I got in this set. If you want to try out a few Fenty Beauty products without breaking the bank sets let these are amazing because individually these products would total to £50+ so getting it all for £37 was amazing. I’ve loved Rihanna since ‘Music of The Sun’ days and begged my mum for all her CDs, so I definitely jumped on the hype of Fenty Beauty. My first purchase was the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Foundation when it was released and I’ve since fallen in love with more products. Honestly I fell in love with how inclusive the foundation range is (with a range of 50 shades). I’ve always struggled with finding my shade. For my first ever time buying make up, when I was 16, I went to get my shade matched –  I thought I was looking cute when in fact I was looking like a ghost wearing a shade that was waaaaay to light for me! 16 year old Antonia wanted this Fenty Beauty range and not needing to settle for foundation shade that wasn’t right.

Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation

Shade: 450 – Deep Skin with Neutral Undertones | Fenty Beauty

This is perfect for medium everyday coverage and full coverage; lasts all day. Normally I use the pump once, put it on the back of my hand and apply with my damp Real Techniques sponge and brush to blend it out. For my glam looks I’ll do 2 pumps for a fuller coverage.

Match Stix Trio

Deep 400 – Suede + Espresso + Sinamon | Fenty Beauty

This trio consists of matte Skinsticks to conceal (Suede) and contour (Espresso) and the shimmer Skinsticks to highlight (Sinamon). I’m not a contouring queen but with this I find it really easy to use and I’ll develop my skills soon!

Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer

Hot Chocolit – Shimmering Rich Brown | Fenty Beauty

First thing to say – my lip gloss be popping! I don’t normally use lip gloss, I normally find it really sticky and just stick to matte liquid lipstick. But I’ve fallen in love lip gloss after trying this Gloss Bomb, it’s not sticky and smells amazing. This has a peach-vanilla scent and has shea butter – so overall it looks ultra glossy, smells amazing, vegan and makes your lips feel soft!

Full Frontal Volume, Lift & Curl Mascara

Cuz I’m Black – True Black | Fenty Beauty

This mascara wand has a Flat side and a Fat side; Flat side – defines and curls and the Fat side – loads and lifts. I don’t wear false lashes on a daily basis, so I’m always on the lookout for mascara that gives my natural lashes volume.

Body Lava Body Luminzer – Shade: Brown Sugar | Fenty Beauty – I definitely want this for the summer so my body can shine in the sun!

Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter – Shade: Trophy Wife (3D Hyper-Metallic Gold) | Fenty Beauty – I love wearing highlighters and after I finish the ones that I’ve got already this is the next one on my list.

Pro Filt’r Setting Powder – Shade: Coffee | Fenty Beauty – After hearing all the amazing reviews for this product saying that it’s perfect for everyday use, I do want to give it a try.
