So I started playing again and I've just liberated Balamb from Galbadia's siege. This conversation right after we defeat Fujin and Raijin has always been very interesting to me. When Fujin and Raijin reaffirm their loyalty to Seifer (even if that means becoming our enemies, as it just happened) Squall simply says it's ok, he won't force them to come back to Garden.

Rinoa says it's sad, and considering she probably knows Raijin and Fujin since she met Seifer pre-game, I think it's interesting too.

Then, Squall reflects on friendship and what it means. His last thought in this scene, about how he feels having Raijin and Fujin as enemies, is bittersweet and I think it's a nice, though subtle, hint to his growth. The poor guy has been thinking a lot lately!

I have this idea that Squall and Rinoa end up with a son named Foehn who is more of a pacifist and inherits becoming a sorceress and in a strange turn of events he meets Seifer who’s basically like, “Look, it could be worse. You could be chicken-wuss. Choose for yourself what you are.”

But then he stumbles across Edea and Cid and Edea is like, “I’m adopting her,” and Cid is like, “you can’t keep doing this” and Foehn is like “wow yeah I am a she” and Edea is like “that’s what I said, now let’s get you dressed properly”

And that’s how Squall finds out his daughter is trans
