I have finally taken the jelly down and set up this little feeder again. The yard has been very quiet, almost eerily so. I am also waiting for a bird food delivery, so I sacrificed some untreated hazelnuts from my baking stash and look who came 😍 I haven't seen a Titmouse in months. I think this is going to be a nice fall.

sick as fuck with covid right now and it's a punch in the gut to know the guy who failed at managing it is going back into office

its a double punch to know that the chronic illness that affects my entire life came from covid which, again, only got to how i did because of his lack of effort to stop it

my current state now reminds me of my life was ruined by this disease and it feels like a stab seeing the man who was complicit in its spread smiling and rising to power once again so easily. a man who will make life worse for disabled people like me in this country.

he has been the cause of so many disabilities and now he will take our rights away. what are we going to do if we're physically helpless

I have had more free time than I’m used to lately, so I drew this slightly silly stream of consciousness comic about how changes in taste and smell as after effects of getting COVID in 2021 have impacted me. Mostly it’s a love letter to food. It was also an attempt from me to try to make a comic without planning it for 5 years and see where the mood takes me, so naturally there are a lot of detailed food illustrations (they’re the best).

No, seriously, go get them. It's important that we let the government know that there's a need for free COVID tests so they keep this program going and don't shut it down due to "lack of demand".

A few minutes ago, my mother died of heart failure. I don't really want to talk about this much right now, but it's why updates here were sparse these past two months. In and out of the hospital, over and over, returning, recovering, getting worse.

Fuck COVID too, for putting the final nail in the coffin.
