what's wild is that i totally didn't notice the chain breaking sound effect here. he seems to have a somewhat stable cyber form for a split second before the chains break and he glitches out. and then we get the quick shot of fleetway style cyber

combined with those old hard to trigger voicelines (7:15) about sonic losing his memories and sense of self? OUGH

Thinking about how Frontiers is about cycles. How The End tells Sonic that the ancients literally gave up their lives to trap it. And now all of their souls are trapped there with it, trapped in an unending cycle. And how Sonic with no other direction is following The End's voice and unknowingly continuing that cycle. And then gets caught in one of his own, of finding the chaos emeralds, fighting a titan, and repeating as his condition gets worse and worse until he loses himself and becomes forever trapped with the rest of them.

Thinking about how the story isn't just about cycles but also about how they can be broken. Amy, Knuckles, and Tails helping the koko find peace, the three of them also saving Sonic, and Sage convincing Eggman to work with Sonic. It's about working together and reaching out for help to bring real change, and real hope.

Thinking about how before Sonic and Sage fight The End, Sonic speaks to the ancients and reminds them of what The End had taken from them and asks them "Are you really going to let him do it all over again?" and how he asks for their help, to work together. And how the song that plays is called "I'm with you". And how it's specifically in lowercase, because it's not a statement of triumph but one of reassurance.

Thinking about how The End's name is both fitting and ironic. The fact that it represents death and conclusions but gets trapped in an unending cycle it helped create. And how it sought the death of others to bring about the end but only the true end came when it itself had died. The end to the destruction, the end to the story, the end to the cycle, and the end to the end.

So'lek saying that seeing his clan butchered and being one of the last of his clan left to survive was his lesson about learning the RDA ways (or more specifically how to use their weaponry) is incredibly profound and honestly inspiring when you interpret it a certain way.

I dont directly relate ofc, bc I'm not a warrior, nor the last of my clan lol, but as a woman of African descent living in the Amerikan diaspora, this rlly hit bc it true that seeing what your oppressors do to your people to keep us repressed and dying will teach you more about them and their ways than anything. Its why history revisionism is such a potent poison for oppressed peoples.

Teylan mentioned how John Mercer taught the residential school Na'vi that Eywa was wicked and deceitful and shouldnt trust her, and of course we learned that he made sure to teach that their Na'vi ancestors are savage and relentless. Such teaching genuinely inspired fear and distrust of their own home and peoples.

I take So'lek's line as an important reminder to stay woke, esp since the actions of white supremacists, imperialists, misogynists, and other bigots, like those that fill the RDA, speak louder than the words of their lies!!!!

I would say how difficult all the stuff is but idk what point you are in the game yet. It wouldn't really spoil anything plot wise, but I want to make sure you're okay with that before describing every major gameplay aspect lol

im SUUUPER early into the game, i dont care about gameplay spoilers but i do care about plot spoilers, idk how intertwined they are. like. i got to the section with the floating cubes and a ghost boss as knuckles which is Really Early and i can barely complete any of the little question mark challenges, the only one i actually got was the tetris one. i also just really dislike difficult games because i get so easily frustrated
