I'm reading The Locked Tomb series and even though going into it I already knew some of the major plot twists, no amount of spoilers could prepare me for just how jarring it was to learn that the ancient secret necromancy inventing laboratory is in the same town where I used to stop for coffee on the way to my thesis fieldwork. En 1939, Joséphine Baker devient agent du contre-espionnage à Paris. Elle participe en tant qu’infirmière pilote secouriste de l’air (IPSA), affectée à la Croix-Rouge à la réception de réfugiés belges et hollandais, et est officiellement engagée le 23 mai 1944 dans l'Armée de l'Air comme «officier de propagande» avec le grade de sous-lieutenant. Elle est Chevalière de la Légion d'Honneur et médaillée de la Résistance avec rosette et de la Croix de guerre 1939-1945.
