Rumble in the Bronx (1995) R 4.1/5 $$$$

(Just a Quick memo for anyone reading. I will not mention anything that will spoil the movie unless you see –>(!@#$POILER!@#$) Just skip over that part. I will Close the Spoiler with the same message. ENJOY)

This Action, Comedy movie is awesome for a lot of reasons. Jackie Chan is basically the Asian version of The Rock, because you can put him in any movie, and add some stunts (Jackie does all of his own Stunts) plus any actors you can find, and you have yourself a movie.  The actors do not even have to talk in this case because some of the actors have their voices poorly replaced in 90′s style half ass way. (That's how it was in the 90′s, especially when internet didn't come around til 97′) I enjoyed every action scene in this movie, and I really enjoyed the poor acting, followed by action packed Jackie Chan combat.  I do have to say this is not Jackie’s finest movie, and I may be biased on my review due to my respect to Jackie doing all his own stunts. (We wont see actors like this in the future taking risks to make a great scene)  The story involved comedy, as almost every Jackie Chan action flick has, and it was spot on. I went from cracking up, to adrenaline pumped fight sequences, crowded chase scenes, and even defeat, and heartbreak. This movie had me on an emotion rollercoaster all the way to the end. Also before I get into the review, IDK why but I was extremely happy this movie was rated R, due to the allowance of the F bomb, being dropped carelessly and constantly. I also have a suspicion that Jackie Chan’s favorite role involves him playing a Cop from another country in another country, or some sort of cop is what I am getting at. Also not a spoiler, because it is prevalent in the trailer, I LOVE how they did voiceovers for everybody, regardless of race to blend it better together. Id like to sit in on that meeting, and see what the director was thinking, my thoughts are he probably did it on just Jackie, and the rest of the Asian cast, and then said eh this doesn't blend well, and went ahead and did it on everyone. Good move by that guy, Shout out to Edward Tang as well he was one of the Screen Writers as well as Fibe Ma, great movie.

This movie starts off with Jackie Chans character named Ma Hon Keung(Honestly coulda gave him a less complex name, but the name is irrelevant from the story.), and what a surprise, he is a Cop from Hong Kong visiting the Bronx to go to his Uncle Bills wedding.  Movie starts strong with comedy as they play on a zillion stereotypes probably tongue in check humor almost which I absolutely enjoy. (Quick side note def. give this movie a chance.  I know the poor acting is tough at times, but its got incredible suspense and much more to support.) So the main story of this movie involves a local gang bullying a Chinese owned store in the Bronx.  Jackie fights the street thugs multiple times in sequences that mesmerize any views vision. (Watching these scenes, and being a huge Bruce Lee fan truly makes me wonder what would have happened if he lived longer.) I don't know if I can look at a ski ever again the way Jackie twirled it around to smack these street punks around.  Some how a diamond deal gets involved in this already awesome plot! (Im dead serious too. :|  ) Anywho, the diamonds end up with the street thugs, and these random guys in suits chasing after the diamonds. 

This movie really switches gears when the street thugs completely destroy the Chinese store, and Jackie goes to confront them. Jackie defeats all of the street thugs in their local hideout, and then leaves, saying they should have some tea together in Chinese. (Was completely badass)  As he heads towards the exit, one of the street thugs comes crawling into the hideout, (Not a hideout, def was easy to find, Jackie found the joint quickly) and two guys were chopped up in a bag. Jackie quickly volunteer to help the street thugs, who were beating the shit out of him prior, and also another confusing part is when Uncle Bills niece or whatever is friends with the street thugs that terrorized the store earlier, does not make much sense, maybe I missed something. Also love at times, when these huge henchmen muscle Jackie around, and then at times he flips and just beats the shit out of them. They also play heavily on some more stereotypes around this part of the movie as well, as language barriers continue to be a funny theme. I also think the whole villain addition of more then the street thugs, really makes this a true rumble in the Bronx. 

Just when I thought this movie couldn't get more awesome. 

It does, hahahah.  It has a Hovercraft chase scene involved in it.  first things to know about hovercrafts, is that they are very unpractical on water, and virtually unsteer able. Granted the one they used is very elite, and looks awesome. At a point the cops, and Jackie are chasing a few of the agents trying to get away from all of the failed attempts at obtaining the lost diamonds. 

 Once the Hover craft hits land, it begins a tear of running things over, and as we all expect the worst, nothing that bad actually happens from it running things over. I truly enjoyed the whole moronic view of the police in this film too.  Them trying to stop a hovercraft looked like they would never be able to.  But WAIT THERES MORE, and Jackie stops the hovercraft by stealing a medieval knife from a store window, and steals a gold lambo from some pedestrian, and then drives towards the hovercraft by stopping it with a drive by slice. 

The cops then all pull up after Jackie asks where the hostages are, and then they pursue the guy in charge, by letting Jackie drive the hovercraft over the golf course, and running the guy over.  (A lot of redic things here, 1. The hovercraft got duct taped up to fix the ginormous gash in the side of it. 2. Cops let Jackie run the villain over with a hovercraft. 3. The villain was shooting at the hovercraft while Jackie pulled up on the course. 4. after he ran the villain over all of his clothes came off lol, Hilarious for a reason im not sure of.) MUCH more to enjoy in this movie. I def recommend giving it a shot.

This movie is one of my favorites as I stated previously.  I recommend it for various reasons. This is a comedy actions, suspense thriller, and it is one of the finest, Just not one of THE FINEST.  Im sure you could make a list of movies from 1995 better than this, but nobody cares, and nobody is reading this so why did I do it? I am not sure.. TBC. (To be Continued).(Not this review but other movies is what I was saying, I didn't want to leave a cliff hanger and lead the reader on to thinking there's more. because there is not more at all. )   Thanks for reading if you red it. JUST WATCH THE FCKING MOVIE.

This movie is 4.1 Karate Chops outta 5 boards.

(Some of you may hate that math above, but guess what it doesn't have to make sense. when nobody reads it)

I also wish I could just do a rolling shot of credits like Chan does. 

He just shows clips of him setting his stunts up, like some sort of sick montage of himself, made by himself, and probably watches it by himself sometimes. (Just playing Jackie, incase your reading this.)
