How does Merrick feel on Freddy?

M: "That Toxicroak with the Jacket? I guess.....well...Everyone has a Different uprising? I'm sure he's fine, If he's a Leader to a whole group he has a good head on his shoulders, I personally don't feel good About those who use Poisons in their Tactics....But I can see why they are Helpful with Opponents that Need to fail.....If Most of the Beast I faced could have Fallen with Poison i'd find something. But I would'nt want it to Define my abilities. I heard...Well...more like Sensed...that there was a tinge of Darkness in his spirit, I am guessing he has a History of doing......Actions of the Criminal kind.....Well...It's not all I sense so I'm sure he has good in him. that Far outweighs the wrong. I'm sure I wouldn't be labeled a Good person...But that Depends on what I do...and How some will view them. So I won't judge...as long as He Respects the Evergreen. And stays good when Talking to me...Maybe we could Help eachother in the future....Preferably not on the Criminal side...but I won't tell till i Feel it in my gut I guess."

Inktober 52 2022 - Week 4 - 'Frog'

Hopefully you can zoom in on this.

Ok so I over did this and didn't have time for colouring BUt- here are many frogs. Because frogs are great, and I wanted to draw many a frog.

So here are a few of my favourites chasing my own frog OC- 'Dart' the tree frog. She's a Thief. And she steals from everybody. Which is a problem when her victims catch up with her!

Freddy: Since the climate here is damaged, what have other pokemon or humans done to try to adapt? Did anyone invent anything that changed how things are done around here?

“No humans-- This is a Solely Pokemon Universe! Though we know about humans through Ultra Wormholes.”

“As for inventing and such-- a lot of tech was set back by the Great frost. Delvers try to reclaim as much as they can, but it’s a loosing battle, in the long run. Folks like me Scavenge for parts where we can, and use them to invent things to stay warm.”

“I’ve actually been experimenting with using the stronger volcanic energy near the Crater to do some Geothermal energy, so I don’t have to rely on steam and stored batteries.”

Freddy was intensely interested in the way the leader of this gang casually allowed one of their members with barely a slap on the wrist for blinding a cop. "Listen I have no strong feelings one way or the other on cops. But why would keep someone in your employ that is that much of a liability? Or are blinding cops over being dicks your MO?"

Varien recognized this Toxicroak from the database of organizations of interest. A few of their members had patronized the club, but the leader himself had never actually come with. Varien had hoped to keep their true nature on the down low, but it seems some way or another Freddy had found out about their involvement in the recent crime.

"Quite frankly, Gamma's a strong fighter, and a patient mon. You have to have patience to work as a bartender, honestly. Gamma's earned my trust in their judgement, despite their standoffish attitude at times. As for the cop," Varien said, her face giving an expression that could be described as disgust, "The less shitheads there are out and about, the better. The only reason I want the gang to stay out of trouble is because we don't want to get caught before the real action begins. We'll have plenty of opportunities to kill cops. But we need to start small. We need to take care of the jobs that the cops can't or won't handle."

"And unlike some others, I don't consider my team a liability. If they're not like family to me, they aren't on my team. I'll make the calls, and talk to them when there's an issue. Nobody is considered a liability. We're all adults here, we'll work to better each other and hopefully the world around us."

Let’s do possession for Grohl and Whisper.

“Bahahaha, this is too easy!”, Urami yelled, swatting Freddy and Grohl aside as if they were gnats. “All it takes is one hit and you’re already down for the count. I knew the lot of ya were weak, but even I didn’t expect just how pathetic you really were”, the Swampert grunted, carrying his big ice stick with one hand as he loomed over the battered Toxicroak and Tangrowth. A large sneer spread across his face as he crouched down, prodding Freddy with the tip of his weapon. 

“C’mon, got nothing funny to say? You love talkin’ shit, don’t cha?”, the Swampert grunted, prodding Freddy harder as his grin only grew wider. “Well, ain’t this a fucking disappoint! All this anticipation and for what? Just laying on the ground, whimpering like newborns. Tell ya what, I can fix this” Urami said in a low tone, eying his beating stick with wide eyes as he looked over Freddy’s body. After a few moments of contemplation, Urami slammed it down on Freddy’s knee. The amphibian let out a loud yell, the sound of breaking bone accompanying it as Urami laughed.

“Oh, oh, that’s just too good! Bonus points if you leave ‘em crippled”, the Swampert laughed, twisting his frosty pole ever so slightly, delighting in Freddy’s pain. All the while, Grohl had been slumped against the wall of a building. Blood, or the Tangrowth equivalent of it, dripped from his head. One eye closed as the other remained half opened. His head pounded like a drum as he could only watch helplessly as Urami tortured Freddy. The Toxicroak’s screams and the Swampert’s laughter seemed to grow more distant, blending in the background with the thumping. 

“Well, isn’t that a darn shame”, suddenly called out a voice. Startled, Grohl looked to both sides wearily, but couldn’t see anything. That is, until the shadows around him began to0 shift and move on their own. Taking shape of something else entirely. A blob with the vague shape of what looked like a Gardevoir. A long red eye peering back at Grohl with insidious intent.

“I’ve seen people being thrown through the ringer, but I gotta say. Big, buff and blue over there makes ground beef look more attractive than you two. Speaking of which, how long until your friend there gets reduced to a greasy stain on the alley floor? My bets on a few minutes”, the shadow chuckled, seemingly delighted in the brutal scene itself as Grohl eyed it warily. “W-Who… who are you?”, the plant asked. The shadow paused, a smile forming on its ethereal face. 

“Who am I? I’m nobody! But you can call me Whisper. And I’m here to make you an offer! See, normally I’m just peachy keen on taking over somebody’s body without the slightest hint or warning. But you? I’m feeling generous”, the shadow chuckled, glancing back at Urami, who seemed to have grown bored playing with Freddy’s near unconscious body. “That guy seems like a bit of a prick, don’t he? Trust me, I’m quite the prick myself! But tell you what, I’ll spare your friend’s life and extract the other’s in payment. All you have to do is nod in agreement. Do you?”

Grohl stared silently for a few moments before he slowly nodded his head in agreement. “Oh joy, I knew you’d see things my way”, the shadow chortled as Grohl’s vision seemed to distort even further, falling into darkness. The last thing the plant could see were his own tendrils slowly wrapping around the neck of one startled Urami, his screams the last thing Grohl could remember before the abyss took him.

This...one mon show was doing his whackadoo shit on facility grounds, which was weird enough. The alien was not lying, this mon sure did have a car.

Except it was not his. It was Grohl's.

It may just be a 2004 sedan, but that was Grohl sedan. One he tried to maintain as much as he could out of pragmaticism. Somehow, this deoxys managed to not just unlock his car but also commandeer it from Grohl's garage.

The other five Bohemian company members were in states of shock, anxiousness, anger and bafflement.

How did this mon get past security? Mariah is going to kill me!

If he so much as spilled anything on those seats, I am going to aerate his ass!

Arceus forbid, if Grohl found out he is going to be set back on his recovery.

All five able bodied members looked at each other and notice one unfortunate thing: the alien has parked the car on one of Grohl's live security wires. Not just that, the presure bulb. The tangrowth not only for sure knew his car was out of the garage, but there was a chance the seed bomb would explode.

Ringing. Everyone looked over to where the ringing was coming from. It was Freddy. Freddy's Holoclip was ringing. He slowly pushed the button and-

"Get my caaaaaaar! *ghack*" Grohl screamed before the sound of his holoclip cut out. Lonnie likely took it away.

Before they could even react, the freaky psychic type took off like a bandit. To everyone present, it was a miracle that a seed bomb did not go off.

Everyone, sans Freddy, flew off by their own means in a desperate means of catching the car thief. Certain mons were saying expletives, who was saying them is obvious.

Freddy was left alone staring in utter bafflement. The toxicroak was at a loss how to even catch up.

Bolt: Nothing much weird happened. Anyway how's Weather? I'd like to talk to him sometime about something... And you look kinda... dead? What's going on?

They both seemed bored up until the mention of child soldiers and war crimes. Gamma's face grew even angrier, and Cherry looked horrified for a moment, before scowling herself.

"Our reputation isn't of much concern to us. Our company has more than enough connections and reputation. But someone like that can't be tolerated." Cherry says, seemingly trying to choose her words carefully.

"Just say you want to discharge every volt of electricity you've got into her. This polite talk isn't you, Cherry Bomb."

Cherry scoffs a little bit, grateful the mask hid her expression. Gamma turns back to the Toxicroak, still irritated with Freddy, but willing to put it aside, for now.

"I'm certain the guys in charge have info on this Haines character. As much as I'd love to make her erode from the outside in, I have a feeling this is gonna be a job our boss'll have to take a look at first. And then she'll have to pass it on to her superiors, and then, well, to get to the point, you're gonna have to talk to Varien."

Cherry nods, before absentmindedly fiddling with her bouquet.

"I'd be surprised if she let us go. She'll certainly insist on getting in on whatever job the heads may or may not have going on involving Haines. But she's not going to let any of us get involved. We're not even allowed to take down cops, if we got approved for a job like this, it'd be a miracle."

"For now, the answer is no," Gamma says, grimacing. Its obvious that they wanted to get in on the job. "Talk to Varien, and she'll talk to her boss. But you'll have to work with their terms."

"I don't doubt your ability. Varien told us enough about Bohemian. I gotta say, hearing the intern has connections with you is a bit surprising though. Don't suppose you'll have any clues to where she could possibly be, then?" Cherry says, plucking out one of her own red and purple flowers, offering it to Freddy.

Freddy approached the other two toxic types holding two origami flowers made from clean napkins. He did not realize he had to bring actual flowers, so he had to improvise. Not to mention, there was some business to attend to. "For you two. I know your boss and I had some disagreements over some matters, but from one business person to another, let's talk about our...business." Freddy was emphasizing the word, knowing full well who they were and to show he was up on their lingo.

Gamma took the origami flower in a way that made sure that Freddy knew that they were not thrilled to be talking to him. Cherry took it with a little more care, making sure to add it to her small but growing bouquet in a way that would hopefully prevent crushing.

“Your origami is good. Very nice, a bit of an underrated skill to have.” Cherry said, nodding towards an empty table. “Let’s talk business over there, why don’t we.”

On the way over, Cherry could hear Gamma whisper, “Do I have to?” A small nod was returned in response.

Once the three had taken their seats, Gamma took the opportunity to speak first.

“So, you wanna do business with us, despite the fact you think I’m a liability. You have some nerve, don’t you Frederick?”

Cherry ignored Gamma’s comment. “Our parent company already has a file on Bohemian Company, but I personally haven’t seen it. I know the basics, but why don’t you tell us the kinds of jobs you will and won’t do.”

“Better not have worked with cops.” Gamma muttered, taking a sip of their drink.

Nothing At All

With everyone in the infirmary looking over Grohl. Everyone was giving their thanks that he was awake. Except Gwen, who was the first to see him wake up.

“It is great to see you awake!” Lenox gave a comforting smile.

“Hope you recover soon.” Jason said, tone flat as it had been lately.

“So how are you feeling?” Yumi spoke up.

“Still lethargic, but mentally I am feeling much better. I cannot get drunk, but I would imagine this is like getting over a hangover. Can you vouch Gwen?”

Everyone present laughed, including Gwen who took the joke in stride. “Nah my hangovers are nothing. I get back up and running the next day. I’d ask Len about that.”

The hawlucha playfully flipped the gothitelle the pidgey. Which prompted more laughter from everyone.

The only person who remained quiet was Freddy, who was trying to find the right thing to say. A pit of guilt wedged itself in his heart. He did not want to derail the morale being high. But he had to get back to business.

“I’m relieved you are awake Grohl,” In contrast to everyone else, Freddy sounded more earnest than the others. Not much room for jovial or even neutral feelings. “Would you all mind if I speak to Grohl one on one please?”

With that everyone cleared out of the room. The only people remaining were Freddy and Grohl.

“Grohl. I’m…sorry. I neglected your health. I…I got absorbed into my own issues. You're my right hand mon and I let you down. Everything would not have spiraled out of control if I had stepped in sooner. You are right to be mad at me if you are.”

It took Grohl a few seconds to process what the toxicroak was saying. On the one hand, the tangrowth was loyal to this mon and would move mountains for him. On the other, the toxicroak was not wrong.

“You are not wrong, but at the same time part of me kept this going. It might have been out of loyalty or a desire to show off, either way it was bad for me. I’m going to tone down the security system a bit. Just so my recovery and my health after will improve.”

“Hey that’s more than fine! Do what you need to recover!” Freddy sounded not phased. All that mattered to him was how happy he was to see up, alive and back in his right mind. The toxicroak also appreciated Grohl’s honesty.

“Though. There is one thing we need to discuss after I am back and walking. The bunker.” Grohl’s tone shifted.

The little joy in Freddy’s face turned to a serious expression. “Right. I’ll make sure everyone stays away from there until you return there.”

“Thanks Freddy. I knew I can count on you.”
