Dish's Profile: Sour and tarty lemon curd, with a buttery shortbread crust. The added topping adds a little, flavorful kick to every bite. Oddly enough, these squares don't just provide an added warmth to your tongue, but a subtle warmth in your heart that makes you fondly remember something from your past before quickly passing.

After nearly 10 years in the community, I have hit this massive number. Thank you all for supporting over the years!

I figured due to this and the Oscars being on today, I figured I would announce the second Sol Film Festival!

For those who were not here when the previous one happened, you take your Pokemon OCs and put them in a scene or movie poster that draws homage to a movie of your choice. I then judge the entries and pick the best of both the writing and the drawn categories.

This year I am upping the ante. The winners of both categories get $100.

Here are some ideas for what you can do.

A recreation of an official poster for a film

A recreation of a poster or DVD cover for a rerelease of a film. For example a Criterion Collection or Arrow covers.

A recreation of a single scene from a film. This can be done via a text post or art.

The Hard Rules

You must use Pokemon OCs only. You can use either a gijinka form or pokemon form, or both depending on your film. However they must be Pokemon OCs in a capacity.

Do not do any of the Pokemon or Digimon films. The reason for this is that since the ‘actors’ we are using are involved in the pokemon universe more or less it would be too easy to do a scene straight up pulling something that is in the Pokemon universe. Digimon is also too close to being similar so I want to cut that off at the pass.

Do not do television movies or movies that are continuations of or are a compressed telling of a TV series. For example Psyche the Movie,FF7 Advent Children, Serenity, El Camino, Full Metal Alchemist Conqueror of Shambala and the Zeta Gundam films are off limits due to fitting that above criteria.

TV show adaptations as a whole are not banned though. As an example, you can do pieces involving films such as In the Loop, the Original or live action Ghost In the Shell, In the Loop, Lupin the First, the Get Smart movie with Steve Carrel, any of the Street Fighter Movies and Final Fantasy Spirited Within are allowed to be homaged as they are not following a continuity.

At the longest, keep it to one scene from a movie if you do the scene recreation. Do not recreate the whole movie from start to end. That would be way too much effort than is required

The length of each submission would have to be, at most, the length of a scene in a movie, or part of a scene if you are drawing. So imagine you are making a storyboard or writing a novelization of a single scene from a movie. Do not adapt the full movie.

You can do a homage rather than a beat by beat recreation. What you choose to do is up to your digression.

Do not just recreate memes. We all laughed at Tommy screaming “I am fed up with dis wurld” and we all remember “Garbage Day”, but if you just try to meme your way through this competition your entry will be disqualified.

Do not implement any characters from askbohemiancompany or omnipokemonproducts. While I would respect my characters having cameos in any capacity usually, I don’t want it to come off like that is the best way to influence who wins. So do not implement them in any capacity in your projects.

If you entered last time, do not resubmit the same piece you did last time. You have to make another one. You can still do the same movie however.

Some Other Helpful Facts

In case you need help with picking film you can feel free to reach out to me and I can help you find some options based off your taste and what platforms are at your disposal.

If you cannot be sent the money I am willing to pay for a commission on the winner’s behalf.

Try to pick films that are not blockbusters. This is not regarding films that are popular, more so stuff like Fast and the Furious, MCU etc. I won’t disregard these types of entries but I want this to be a chance for people to discover new films. It’s just like the Oscars!

Hey Y'all!

I'm also re-doing this blog to be a proper askblog hub, which this will be where I host any askblogs at, including a brand new project, Pokemon Sentai Pokengers! The blog is still under construction (I'll be getting art for it over the next few months) but I'm excited to share it with you all!

It’s raining.

The soft pitter-patter of droplets on leaves is music to your ears, but the sensation is anything but. Every raindrop feels like a tiny icy spear digging into you. The sooner you can get out of this weather, the better. 

And so you trudge on, the ground making a lovely squishing noise under your feet. Soon. Soon, you’ll be out and on your way.

Out of the corner of your eye, you catch a spot of pink among all the greens, browns, and grays. Though you ought to keep on, your curiosity is piqued and you decide to investigate.

The pink is revealed to be a small Mr. Mime, lost in deep slumber. You figure she was probably waiting for the rain to stop and fell asleep in the process. All she has is a thin cotton dress though, and it’s rather chilly. What if she catches a cold?

Will you approach…?

“I’M THUNDERSTRUCK!” The trio of Pokemon happily sing as they energetically dance across a stage, the crowd before them cheering quite loudly. Their steps are confident, and their voices ring out clear and strong. You find yourself becoming absorbed into the performance, and then all too soon, their song comes to an end. The trio bow to the cheering crowd and exit the stage. The show has come to an end, and the crowd begins to thin as everyone leaves. You find yourself wanting to meet the three performers, but don’t know if you should. 

What do you do?

-Follow them backstage-

-Go home-

The Pikachu bounces in excitement at the Flareon’s question, quickly grabbing a few books and papers to gush about a topic.

“Aw man, okay so-- Ultra Wormholes! They’re not too different from Hoopa Rings, in practice-- Some people even theorize that Hoopa is connected more closely to Ultra Beasts because of this!”

“Unlike Hoopa’s rings, though-- Ultra Wormholes are Mostly Natural. They more easily connect different universes, though it’s dangerous to travel through them.”

“And you might be wondering-- Why not do a mass evacuation to another world through an ultra Wormhole, if they lead to different universes? Leave the snow to this world.”

“We did the research and-- the resulting instability by sending an entire world’s population through would destroy both of the connected worlds, not just the one.”

“So, There’s only a certain amount of people allowed to go through ultra wormholes-- mostly researchers, like me! I have an Ultra Wormhole license!”

“And-- as for your question, radio person--”

The Pikachu clears his throat, flipping through a few papers,

“Humans can go in-- but the north is absolutely too dangerous for humans to be in for any extended period, plus the regular dangers of traversing ultra space without protection--”

“Pokemon are made of Sturdier stuff than most humans! We can shrug off a lot of attacks that’d otherwise kill a human, you know! So We’re fine when we go through.”

Mika waddles up, bumping into Celodia's leg. Seems they were eavesdropping. "So? Do you have a lead to help that goopy thing?"

“C’mon, Anthony. We gotta go find Jericho.”

“OKAY!”

They made the trip down the stairs after carefully locking the door. They made sure Mika was with them, too.

“Huh? Oh, there ya are, honey. Was beginnin’ t’think ya died up there. You been in there for hours seein’ visitors. Yer friend famous ‘r somethin’?”

“I… guess…?”

“Anyway, jus’ gimme a minute here ‘n’ we’ll patch up yer hand real good.”

Meanwhile, in the other side of the Saloon…

Celosia turned back at Anthony’s outburst.

“What, you see somethin’?”

“I know someone, I think. I go ask him things, I think.”

“Well, alright. I’ll be here ‘f you need me, okay? Don’t eat anyone.”

“YES!” 

As the Gothitelle left, The Ravener also exited the building too…

Eddie looked perplexed.

“Did’ja just tell ya friend not to eat anyone…?”

“It’s a long story. I’ll tell you in the back.”

“Alrigh’, alrigh’. C’mon back, dear.”

Hear those Jingle bells Jangling~

Pokemon probably get to these events many different ways. Portals, dropped off by legendaries, magic-- or even ‘Taking a Shortcut,’ as some people would put it. There might even be a little bit of people who took the same one Lloyd would be taking-- Ultra Wormhole.

It’s through one of these where Lloyd would walk out of, looking about-- and smiling at the cheer.

“Wow! Look at all the pokemon arriving-- and it’s so... Warm compared to home!”

“And that Smell-- Is that Cinnamon? Aw man, I haven’t seen this many Pokemon together in quite some time!

“Shame it can’t be like this forever...”

“Whelp! I better enjoy this small break to the fullest! I got me a cup of Eggnog with my name on it!”

It’s that time of year again!

Welcome back to the poke’ Christmas event! This is Blue from @bluedoodles here to host another holly jolly community event! (Warning long post)

So just as before we have the Ice Skating Rink

This is where your marvelous pokemon OC’s can glide around as beautiful lights surround them. To the left is a snowball fighting area and snowman building by that for all your snow needs

Next we have The Lounge

After playing in the crisp chilly winter weather, come inside to enjoy the warmth of a warm fire and cozy furniture~

Dont forget to make your way to The Dining Room

Fill your hungry bellies with holiday sweets and traditional meals to help chase the cold away! There is also a stage for live bands and performances, so feel free to try your hand at entertainment!

And finally we have The Ball Room

Get out of those winter clothes and into a beautiful formal outfit and enjoy dancing to holiday music with friends, family, and loved ones!

Any and all Pokemon ask/daily blogs are welcome to enjoy this community event! Send as many of your blogs crew as you wish and join whenever you want!

Time for the dates!

The event will last from December 1st to January 2nd!

December 1st to December 10th will be the joining period but you’re welcome to come any time afterwards as well!

This is when you make posts writing/ drawing your poke oc’s joining the event

After the joining period the event will go into full swing and from December 11th to the 20th all activities will be open for all

Hopefully everyone who wants to join will have done so by now and will begin doing asks/interactions inside the event

You may begin doing this before the 11th if so desired!

December 20th to the 25th will be gift exchanging!

Give friends and loved ones gifts for the holidays to let them know you care!

Again you may do this at any time but these will be designated dates

December 26th to the 30th will be open time to do what you please

You may partake in whatever you desire

And finally December 31st will be celebration of the new year!

Light fireworks, make lots of noise, kiss a loved one. This is the time for celebration!

The last couple days will be the closing of this event!

Say your goodbyes and make your way back home, the event will be closing January 2nd
