NIGHTLY, HAWKTER, GENJAR (Dark/Flying) & Mega GENJAR (Dark/Fighting)
Convergent evolution line of GHASTLY, HAUNTER, GENGAR & Mega GENGAR.
They are nocturnal birds with the ability to imitate the cries of other pokemon, and even sounds made by humans, in order to attract unsuspecting prey into the dark forest and attack them by surprise.
They are mainly inspired by Nightjars, also known as nighthawks or frogmouths
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
GENJAR is also inspired in Owlbears from D&D
Tumblr media
Mega GENJAR is based on the defensive posture owls will take when they feel threatened, ruffling their feathers and trying to look bigger and more intimidating

These Ground/Dark Regional Variants were commissioned and designed by @kyuremfan24. They belong to the Nenal Region.
Nenalian Diglett (Ground/Dark) Nocturnal Pokémon #012 - Stories say Nenalian Diglett once played a vital role in enriching Nenal's soil, using their claws to prepare the land for edible plants. However, with the arrival of humans and the later use of Nenalian Golett and Golurk to drain and cultivate the region, the Diglett adapted by becoming nocturnal. Over time, they transitioned from helpers to agricultural pests, often disrupting farmers' efforts overnight.
Nenalian Dugtrio (Ground/Dark) Nocturnal Pokémon#013 - With its three noses and four claws, Nenalian Dugtrio is notorious among farmers and gardeners as one of the most disliked Pokémon for leaving behind large mounds of dirt on their land. Training a Nenalian Dugtrio is challenging due to their pest-like behavior, but those who succeed are rewarded with remarkably lush and healthy gardens, often the envy of fellow gardeners.

Bloodmoon LYCANROC Rock/Dark The Wolf Pokemon Ability: Moon Madness* Dex: "A mysterious LYCANROC that run away from its master during a full moon frenzy, it traveled into a distant land where dark energies triggered a dangerous change. It comes out only during the night, announcing its arrival whith a blood-curling howl, it will hunt and devour anything it finds alone in the dark, be it pokemon or man. It Is specially vicious during full moons. Moves: -Blood Moon -Stone Edge -Night Slash -Moonlight
*A pokemon hit by this user will have its ability changed to “Moon Madness”, its attack willl rise, but the pokemon will become confused, this confusion cannot be cured
Decided to make a bloodmoon pokemon for my own region, and choose LYCANROC because it made sense, with the whole werewolf theme it has going on. Really proud of how it came out
The Moon Madness ability is basically a werewolf curse, if Bloodmoon LYCANROC bites you or scratches you, you turn into "werewolf", or at least you behave like one

Koreyan Umbreon (Dark/Dragon)
#197 - Though the Korey region is famous for its technological advancements, these marvels are not all feats of engineering; some of the technologies are actually blessings bestowed by legendary Pokémon. Koreyan scientists, seeking to explore space and test theories of relativity, prayed to Dialga and Palkia. One day, a researcher’s devoted Eevee joined in the prayer; impressed by their devotion, Dialga and Palkia granted the Eevee a special evolution to aid in their mission. This Dark/Dragon-typed evolution, now known as "Koreyan Umbreon," is perfect for space exploration, able to survive without air, withstand strong radiation, and endure high g-forces. These Eeveelutions carry a "gravimeter orb," indicating gravity's direction by the color it displays. To trigger this evolution, trainers must be devout to Dialga and Palkia and knowledgeable about relativity, making Koreyan Umbreons very rare.
Koreyan Umbreon was conceptualized and commissioned by @dannyundos. Thanks!
