SQZ Biotech Signs 63,477 SF Lease as Lead Lab Tenant at Arsenal Yards in Watertown

BOSTON– Boston-based real estate developer Boylston Properties announced that cell therapy company SQZ Biotech has signed a 63,477 square foot lease at Arsenal Yards.

The wild, Marvin Gaye y el chef; el séptimo álbum de Raekwon

The Wild es el séptimo álbum de estudio de Raekwon, salió el 24 de Marzo de 2017, éste contiene once nuevos cortes acompañados de un intro, un outro y tres skits, donde colaboran personas como Cee-Lo Green, Lil Wayne, P.U.R.E, Andra Day y G-Eazy; sin olvidarnos de los productores, la mayoría poco conocidos, entre ellos se encuentran Xtreme, Frank. G, RoadsArt y G’Sparkz. Grabado en H20 Records/ Empire.

          El intro comienza advirtiéndonos y contándonos cómo es la selva, de viva voz de Raekwon; un sitio donde nada le pertenece a nadie, una tierra regida por la supremacía del más fuerte, sin reglas ni estratos sociales, tal y como empezó nuestra civilización, cruda y salvaje, porque por más humanos que seamos la naturaleza humana sigue siendo parte de nosotros, son las responsables de hacernos actuar de tal o cuál manera y Raekwon nos demuestra que siempre lo ha tenido muy en cuenta; dejamos ese mensaje atrás para encontrarnos con la primer canción del álbum This is what it comes too, el primer single que soltó es parecido a que nos enseñara una beretta y nos preparara para la ráfaga de balas que se venían en su nuevo disco, sigue siendo ese sonido crudo y esa voz seca y lineal a la que nos tiene acostumbrados, parece que nada ha cambiado, aunque es diferente a lanzamientos anteriores y también, está lejos de bajar del pedestal a su álbum debut, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. La segunda canción, Nothing, es menos feroz que la primera, hablando de la instrumental, porque las rimas siguen siendo brutales con gangbars y armsbars, demostrando que nadie es mejor que él y sus rapeos al momento de insultar y de atacar con punchlines tan certeros. Cuando llegamos al primer skit nos dimos cuenta que es un prólogo a la tercer canción, porque hay una persona cantando un fragmento de una letra de Marvin Gaye (la cual no supimos adivinar) para entrar con Marvin y la primer colaboración del disco, acompañado de Cee-Lo Green; en esta canción nos cuenta la vida de Marvin Gaye y el incidente que tuvo con sus padres, que fue causante de su muerte pues su padre le dio dos disparos en el pecho, perforando su corazón y su pulmón izquierdo, este corte es un storytelling al igual que el siguiente, can’t you see, pues nos cuenta una historia sobre robos y pequeños matones atrapados en el mundo de las drogas y las armas porque es lo que han aprendido en la calle ya que su vida está rodeada de violencia y no hay otra cosa que puedan aprender, el dolor, el maltrado y la indiferencia por parte de personas mayores los convirtió en delincuentes. La séptima canción (número cabalístico) y segundo sencillo del álbum, viene con la segunda colaboración del álbum, acompañado de Lil Wayne; Raekwon en una entrevista dijo que le encantaba compartir rimas con Lil Wayne porque era una persona muy prolífica y lo ha escuchado muy bien, por lo que sabe que es un rapero que se puede montar sobre cualquier tipo de instrumental, por lo que ellos nos demuestran sus skills en esta especie de himno a los barrios en los que han crecido (o en los que los escuchan), lleno de peleas de bandas, dinero sucio, mujeres bellas, armas y venta de drogas; en la canción se hacen ver como los más astutos y más inteligentes, fundadores de un barrio poderoso y con mucho dinero, quizá sea una metáfora a lo que han logrado con la música y un agradecimiento a los fans que los apoyan, aquí es donde entra la frase real recognize real. 

          La segunda parte del disco viene con otro skit homenaje a Marvin Gaye que nada se conecta con la siguiente canción, M&N, donde encontramos la tercer colaboración en todo el disco, P.U.R.E, aquí hacen muestra de sus skills en una temática muchas veces vista pero no por eso falta de creatividad, además con una pequeña modificación, rimar con la letra M y la letra N; Raekwon eligió sabiamente al colaborador de esta canción, debido a que P.U.R.E logró seguirle el juego y las rimas a The Chef. La siguiente canción nos recuerda mucho a love don’t live here no more de su más cercano amigo Ghostface Killah colaborando con Kandace Springs y Heaven and hell del propio Raekwon con Joy Denalane, una mujer en los coros y cantando de fondo mientras The Chef rapea, hablamos de visiting hour la cuarta colaboración, junto a Andra Day donde nos cuenta una vida (podría ser la suya) llena de todo lo que conlleva vivir en un barrio pobre, lleno de problemas, donde la única salida era robar o ganar dinero de formas ilegales; para cuando se dio cuenta de que las cosas que tenía eran falsas ya era demasiado tarde se encontraba sólo con sus recuerdos, sin nadie que lo acompañe en su nueva vida lejos de todas esas cosas malas; en esta parte de The wild, todo está más tranquilo, Raekwon empieza a reconocer los errores de la raza humana y cree que es posible un cambio, donde lo salvaje deje de existir, porque somos homínidos evolucionados con un cerebro con el que podemos dar más de nosotros mismos, cambiar nuestra mentalidad y hacer de este un mundo mejor, es el mensaje, parafraseado, que nos da en The reign, y pegada a esta canción se encuentra Crown of thorns, quizá sea una metáfora a la vida de un narcotraficante y alguien que está desperdiciando su vida en las frías calles en vez de hacer algo por su vida o por la vida de otros, porque es la corona de espinas que cualquier persona metida en negocios ilegales y violencia tiene, la traición por sus propios amigos o, los que dicen serlo, y no sólo es un mensaje para ellos sino para todos los seres humanos que estamos tan preocupados por nuestras vidas que no vemos la necesidad de otro y en la medida de lo posible, poder ayudarlo, conectada con está también se encuentra la última colaboración del disco en la canción Purple bricks road, acompañado de G-Eazy, hablan del mundo, donde la fama y el dinero no lo son todo, hay cicatrices y dolor como en cualquier ser humano, ellos también sienten, experimentan, sueñan, y a pesar de eso pagan el costo de ser famosos, de tener que quedar bien con unos cuantos y el dinero que gastan en joyas sin tener alguien para compartirlo, porque se cree que eso trae la felicidad y por esto ellos se vuelven más desconfiados de los que se acercan a ellos por dinero y no por amistad o amor. Terminamos con la última canción del disco, Raekwon decidió montarse sobre un beat de trap para dejar en claro que su generación también es capaz de rapear, mejor que muchos raperos actuales, sobre este tipo de instrumentales, tan sólo fue otra muestra de sus skills; y llegamos al final del disco con un outro y otra persona cantando una canción de Marvin Gaye.

           Sin duda, este disco es muy bueno, Raekwon deja claro el mensaje que quiere dar a la sociedad y que quizá cuando era más joven no lograba plasmar en sus discos; alejarse de la jungla de concreto, alejarse de todos estos problemas que están arraigados a una huella de nuestros antepasados con la declaración de que algo nos pertenece y la competición y supremacía de demostrar ser el mejor, y tener que recurrir a intimidar a otras personas para que nos respeten; no respetar las leyes, y en el caso de Raekwon, dejarnos ver la violencia en los barrios pobres, (no sólo los de Estados Unidos, por qué esto se vive tanto en un barrio de México como en uno de Japón o de Colombia, aunque no de la misma forma) las armas, la droga y el dinero sucio que siempre están presentes, arrastrando a las nuevas generaciones a este ciclo infinito, por culpa de personas mayores que no se preocupan de educarlos, hablando de sus padres o allegados, y los dejan a su suerte en manos de personas muy frías que no les importa poner a vender droga a niños de ocho años. El mensaje de cambiar y ser mejores, educar, aprender y vivir bien es lo que Raekwon quiere que entendamos, porque se puede y estamos a tiempo de lograrlo, es cosa de proponer, actuar e informar. Por donde se quiera ver, este álbum es temático y variado en tanto a cada corte se refiere, es una gran recomendación, que sólo podía ser escrito y rapeado por uno de los pilares de Wu Tang Clan.
