Moonlight Chapter One Commentary, Post 3 + 4
Commentary Round 2! This commentary is for the third and fourth posts from Chapter One of Moonlight: Teen Daze. post 3: click. post 4: click.
In post three the gang is together for the first time (minus Jess, because she has been a recent add, but pretend she is there in spirit). We have Gia, Sam, Tati, Omar, Sidney, and some others to the side (aka deco sims). The gang talks about money, the bus, and Sam's recent escapades. In post four we see Tati and Diego together again, this time in a class they share--Occult Culture and Lore I, period six. The teacher, Mr. Flowers, yaps forever and then announces there will be a group project. After the school day ends we see Tati and Omar together, and we are made aware that Tati has yet to meet Omar's parents or be at his house. They also make a movie night date plan.
lunch room convos
In the third post we see Sam get questioned about their recent relationship developments, and Sam evades the question by stating that it's not that serious and they don't kiss and tell. If you read the previous commentary you know that they're evading the truth a little bit here. The question is, why though? Is it because it's not official? Are they sparing someone's feelings? 🧐 Much to consider. We see Gia side-eye them, respond in a blunt manner, and then change the subject where she asks Sidney about team photos for the school's yearbook.
planting seeds
The conversation moves on to Tati complaining about gas money, Bob (Pancakes) not letting her work at the diner during the school year, and Sam and Omar telling her to ride the bus. Which she says No. Absolutely not. The background here is: during the summer she works at Bob's diner, and does it count as nepotism if you got the job because your mom is the chef there? But anyway, this convo, and the convo between Gia and Sidney are all little seeds I planted for things I have shown (and will show) later down the line in the story.
classroom scene
I needed a logical reason for my two protagonists lives to intersect (for reasons you will discover later) so I came up with a cultural elective class they both decided to take. Tati signed up because she had a vampire fanfic-phase when she was a preteen (thank you Caleb Vatore for being the lead singer of my made up emo band Fruit Batz), and wanted to learn more. Diego because he was curious about occult cultures (not so much his own.) Which leads to him asking the question shown above, re: final project research, and Mr. Flowers responds with the answer: research an opposite occult of your own. (Since he's a werewolf, that'd be a vampire.)
interpersonal relationships: woes
At the end of the day we see Omar and Tati make plans for a movie night date...at her house. They always go out somewhere or go to hers, and she has never been to his house or met his parents. Meanwhile Omar knows all of her friends and family at this point. So, internally, Tati is feeling somewhat rejected because Omar is a bit cagey when she has brought it up before. This time, she brings up a big event for them both (a school dance) and he seems to compromise here with his noncommittal answer "I'll think about it." Keep this in mind, because it will come up again soon.
That's it for chapter one! It was quite short, and a lot of it was setting up stuff that would (and will) happen later. I am always planting seeds, laying down bread crumbs, and so on. Here is your candy for reading. 🍬

Basics of WoT: 4th Age
This is the starting information/overview of the state of the world in the grand scale for the Fourth Age project I worked on.
The setting takes place 25-35 years after the very end of the series (Most likely 1035 NE; A new Calendar has been proposed amongst all Dragon Peace nations, but only some have decided to start phasing it in, using two calendars until 1100 NE/65 PD "Post Dragon Reborn")
The Industrial Revolution has taken swing, the new Printing Press in particular igniting a thousand different fires of revolution and repression
Powers and abilities from Ages past creep back into the world, and new Powers never seen appear as well
The "Peace" of the Lands
The Dragon Peace unites all of the Westlands (also called Marhol) not occupied by the Seanchan, as well as the Aiel Three-fold Lands under a order of peace, with the Aiel taking the role of the primary Peacekeepers
The Griffin Truce, named for the Seanchan Raven and the Lion of Andor as the signing took place in Caemlyn, has formalized non-aggression between the Dragon Peace United nations and the Seanchan occupation and its Imperial Dominions
The Seanchan Empire under Empress Fortuona rules its Dominions, yet under the the Viewings of the Doomseer, they have yet to return in force to their fractured home Continent to reform the Empire as a whole
Republicanism has become a fire sweeping through a world of Monarchies, splitting the young Empire of the Sun and the founding member of the Republic's League, the Rivers Republic
The White Tower is rocked by scandal after the greatest journalistic reporting of the century reveals to the world a major secret of the Hall, as well as the different directions the Ajahs move
The Black Tower raises in prominence, yet the world still distrusts male channelers
The great Empire of Shara has collapsed to the joy of those they subjugated for centuries, only for the "Restoration Peacekeeping" to lead to strife as outsiders try to decide the fates of entire peoples
the Aiel balance their role as peacekeepers with the reckoning coming towards them; Fueds with the Seanchan, the uncertain future of the Three-fold Lands, New visions of possible futures guiding their choices as peacekeepers yet still each choice made to prevent one dark future seems to cause another. The Clans united under the Dragon Reborn, but what of the new holds in the Wetlands? What of the remnant Free Shaido? What of the Warrior society's without wars?
The Atha'an Meire have formed their Empire of All Seas in reaction to the new age of imperialism, Traveling and Gateways, and industrial trading
The Shadow's Corruption has diminished from the Blight, yet monsters and Trollocs and Darkfriends and Turned remain; With the Dark One sealed away, however, the now Free Trolloc are said to have turned from the chains their old master put on their minds, and collaboration between the White and Black Towers lead many to believe those forcibly Turned to the Shadow may yet be saved. Ancient hate does not die easily, and the Broderlanders and the world at large itch to take the new frontiers of the Wild North, to Crusade against what is seen as the last vestiges of the Dark
The Borderland Bloc has formed to unite the weary borderlanders among the Dragon Peace and rebuild greater and with more prominence; In 2 years, the First Premier Imperator's 12 year term shall end and a new ruler of the Bloc must be elected, with nearly every choice leading the Bloc into one grand conflict or another
Everloyal Darkfriends scheme still, and those forced to serve the Dark fight to survive a world where there is little mercy for those so much as touched once by the Shadow. Dreadlords attempt to carve out realms of their own
This and more is the state of the world.
Will the peace hard fought for stand strong, or is such a thing a fantasy during the rising Age of Empires and Industry? Will the world become one where all peoples and perhaps even all species exist together, or is domination inevitable? In a new age, called the Fourth Age by some, will the times to come be known as a Great Ending, or a Great Beginning?
Notes:
I ramped up on some of the poetical wordings for this. Also, my notes are harder to read than I remember. Marhol is directly from @highladyluck from Tumblr, I was working on this long enough to see them post their idea for the name of the Continent and I always liked it better than Westlands. Obviously, Rand wanted the Dragon Peace to bring, well, peace, but it's still basically just a Renaissance version of the EU; These are nations that have fought since their founding, facing a changing world, an empire occupying their Continent's western coast, and strung together under an agreement they were forced to sign with peacekeepers they don't understand as a culture who also aren't honestly the best option. The Aiel got flanderized in the last books by Sanderson, but there are serious issues with them being last minute made into basically the nationality of Peacekeepers. The Seafolk Empire is interesting in that it forms to protect their trading culture as well as the ports they were granted yet remains a brutal empire. The Borderland Bloc is similar, the borderlanders basically thanklessly fighting the Shadow for centuries while many thought the Trollocs they fought fairy-tales, being the most devastated nations after the Last Battle, unifying to rebuild each other and make sure the rest of the Dragon Peace remembers them; Still, every choice for the future leader is an iffy one. Don't worry, Malkier has been reformed, it has an interesting place in this mess. Everyone admits Shara was a mess, so I decided to try and fix it; Shara is the name of the Continent, but also the Empire that ruled it, and the other nations they oppressed and erased are "free" with its fall. This being the beginning of the age of imperialism, though, how "free" they are under "reconstruction" is soon to be decided. That's it for this one, go ahead and ask questions about the summary, keep in mind I will be doing posts for basically every nation and faction I have so asking things like "what's up in Andor?" will be answered later or have a special post to ask under. Please share if you like, this is basically my first big attempt at a project like this.

US once again vetoes UN ceasefire resolution on Gaza, rejects effort to block arms sales to Israel
The US on Wednesday vetoed a UN resolution demanding an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza. The other 14 members of the UN Security Council voted in favour of the resolution.
US vetoes fourth UN Security Council Gaza ceasefire resolution
The resolution, the latest of many Gaza ceasefire resolutions to reach the Security Council, called for an “immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire” and the “immediate and unconditional release of all hostages.” However, the US said it disagreed with the demand for an “unconditional ceasefire” that “did not result in the release of hostages.”
Other member countries expressed their disappointment at the failure of the resolution. The representative of China noted that “insisting on a precondition for a ceasefire is tantamount to giving the green light to continue the war.”
The observer for Palestine shared similar disappointment, saying that “this veto is a dangerous signal to Israel that it can go ahead with its plans.” This is the fourth ceasefire resolution the US has vetoed in the Security Council since October 7 last year. A US-backed resolution endorsing the implementation of a three-phase ceasefire plan was passed in June, but little has changed in the conflict since then.
The UN resolution, which would have also demanded the unimpeded flow of aid into Gaza and rejected “any attempt to starve the Palestinians,” failed in light of recent UN reports that northern Gaza has received virtually no aid for the past 40 days and that Israel is using starvation as a weapon of war.
Senate motions blocking arms sales to Israel fail, but pick up Democrat support
The Senate voted Wednesday on Vermont Independent Senator Bernie Sanders’ attempt to block a series of planned US arms sales to Israel.
Eighteen Democrats voted to block the transfer of $774 worth of tank shells, 19 Democrats sought to block the sale of $61 million worth of mortar shells, and 17 Democrats sought to stop the sale of $262 worth of Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAM).
All Republican senators present and a 51-member Democratic majority rejected all three joint resolutions of dissent, led by progressive Senator Bernie Sanders, which were known in advance to be dead on arrival due to bipartisan support for Israel’s offensive against Hamas.
But the vote underscored the growing discomfort among Democrats over the IDF’s campaign in the Gaza Strip and the party split it has caused.
A Sanders-backed resolution in January to freeze US aid to Israel unless the State Department reports within 30 days on alleged Israeli human rights abuses in the Gaza Strip received just 10 Democratic votes, although some senators may have voted with the November election in mind.
Much of Gaza’s population of 2.3 million has been displaced and the U.S. has warned of the possibility of famine after more than a year of fighting sparked by a Hamas offensive on October 7 that killed about 1,200 people in Israel and took 251 hostages. Hamas officials say the Israeli offensive has killed more than 43,922 Palestinians.

2023 Leo Cross-Quarter Day
Tuesday, August 8, 00:23 UT Chart erected for Washington, DC
The Sun is at precisely 15° Leo, astrologically halfway between the Cancer Solstice and the Libra Equinox.
So much Leo-Taurus tension. The Sun and Venus Rx are getting closer to each other, with their inferior conjunction coming up on August 13. This makes us warm, loving, and playful, but also prone to vanity and frivolousness. We can get angry when the other person doesn’t play along with our romantic intentions; creatively, we can be rampaging little prima donnas. We can also be a little too performative - and when we aren’t being genuine, it turns other people off.
The bunch in Taurus - Moon, Jupiter, and Uranus - can be just as convinced of their own superiority (if not as flashy in expression as Leo). They’re pushing us to back up our vanity etc. with something substantial.
Note that the Sun is exactly square Jupiter, and Venus is exactly square Uranus! The former can make us confident leaders, but it can also make us pompous and lazy. The lattter can give excitement in the love and creative lives, but it doesn’t promise anything lasting (even though it’s in fixed signs).
If you’re in the southern hemisphere, this is Imbolc (aka Brigid, Candlemas) - time to gather and mobilize the resources you need to accomplish your goals. It looks like working on developing traits or accomplishments to help you become a better version of yourself.
Up here in the northern hemisphere, it’s Lughsnasad (aka Lammas) - the beginnings of the harvest. What we started back at Yule is now coming to fruition. (The lunar phase in this chart, Disseminating, reflects this.) Kind of like election night on TV, announcing “early results are in.” What have you learned? Can you share that with other people, to teach or commiserate or assist?
In her book Circle Round, Starhawk writes about Lughsnasad as a time to honor teachers and coaches - anyone who helps guide children. In the US, it’s “back to school” time, and a worthy commemoration of this holiday might be donating to a “school supplies for kids” charity.
For me, who loathes hot weather, this is a treasured time. Right after the Fourth of July, I start straining my ears, each night, for the first crickets - a definite harbinger of approaching autumn. The shadows are suddenly much darker, too - although the older I get, the less able I am, to see this phenomenon.
But the best part is (always) the FOOD. Corn on the cob, blueberries, peaches, tomatoes, canteloupe - I am usually very broke in August, but I always try to get ahold of some of those five August treats, to celebrate.

I'm gonna try to dye the vinyl parts of an imomodoll to a light blue. If Volks can leave a frame beige then so can I.
Guessing it won't turn out the right shade and will fade way too fast, but I'm feeling such a compulsion to try that I gotta do it. 👀
Health talk --
So I went back for the second mammo and ultrasound, and the results say I have tumors on both sides. The Dr on staff that day is reasonably convinced the tumors are benign, so that's good. I'm talking to a breast surgeon this week to schedule biopsies and I'm gonna ask about all my elective options. Like can I just get them off please.
This is also my fourth day in a row without a headache or migraine, which is a record for the past several months, so I'm feeling unjustifiably optimistic. My friend calls this my "delusions of grandeur" phase, where I start thinking HEY I could go back to work or back to school etc etc and start making Plans. Then I get the next five day streak of migraine and go back to survival mode. 😂
I'm fine emotionally big thanks to staying on my meds!

Canada mulls expelling China diplomat for targeting lawmaker (AP) Canada’s foreign minister said Thursday the country is considering the expulsion of Chinese diplomats over an intelligence agency report saying one of them plotted to intimidate the Hong Kong relatives of a Canadian lawmaker. Foreign Minister Melanie Joly said her department was summoning China’s ambassador to a meeting to underline that Canada won’t tolerate such interference. She said the intelligence agency report indicated that opposition Conservative lawmaker Michael Chong and his Hong Kong relatives were targeted after Chong criticized Beijing’s human rights record. “We’re assessing different options including the expulsion of diplomats,” Joly said before a Parliament committee. Many governments, the United Nations, and human rights groups accuse China of sweeping a million or more people from its Uyghur community and other predominantly Muslim ethnic minority groups into detention camps, where many have said they were tortured, sexually assaulted, and forced to abandon their language and religion. China denies the accusations, which are based on evidence including interviews with survivors and photos and satellite images from Uyghur’s home province of Xinjiang, a major hub for factories and farms in far western China.
Smaller Banks Are Scrambling as Share Prices Plunge (NYT) A cluster of regional banks scrambled on Thursday to convince the public of their financial soundness, even as their stock prices plunged and investors took bets on which might be the next to fall. The tumult brought questions about the future of the lenders to the fore, suggesting a new phase in the crisis that began two months ago with the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank, and was punctuated on Monday by the seizure and sale of First Republic Bank. PacWest and Western Alliance were in the eye of the storm, despite the companies’ protestations that their finances were solid. PacWest’s shares lost 50 percent of their value on Thursday and Western Alliance fell 38 percent. Other midsize banks, including Zions and Comerica, also posted double-digit percentage declines. Unlike the banks that failed after depositors rushed to pull their money out, the lenders now under pressure have reported relatively stable deposit bases and don’t sit on mountains of soured loans. The most immediate threat the banks face, analysts said, is a crisis of confidence.
Oil boom starts to transform Guyana (AP) Villagers in this tiny coastal community lined up on the soggy grass, leaned into the microphone and shared what they wanted: a library, streetlights, school buses, homes, a grocery store, reliable electricity, wider roads and better bridges. “Please help us,” said Evadne Pellew-Fomundam—a 70-year-old who lives in Ann’s Grove, one of Guyana’s poorest communities—to the country’s prime minister and other officials who organized the meeting to hear people’s concerns and boost their party’s image ahead of municipal elections. The list of needs is long in this South American country of 791,000 people that is poised to become the world’s fourth-largest offshore oil producer, placing it ahead of Qatar, the United States, Mexico and Norway. The oil boom will generate billions of dollars for this largely impoverished nation. It’s also certain to spark bitter fights over how the wealth should be spent in a place where politics is sharply divided along ethnic lines: 29% of the population is of African descent and 40% of East Indian descent, from indentured servants brought to Guyana after slavery was abolished. Change is already visible. In the capital, Georgetown, buildings made of glass, steel and concrete rise above colonial-era wooden structures, with shuttered sash windows, that are slowly decaying.
Beyond King Charles (Washington Post) Though the British monarchy attracts the most global attention, there are wealthier, more powerful royals among the 28 monarchs around the world. Seventeen of them are kings. Margrethe II of Denmark is the only queen. The microstate of Andorra has co-princes, the president of France and a Spanish bishop. Japan has an emperor. Brunei and Oman have sultans. Liechtenstein and Monaco have princes. Qatar and Kuwait have emirs. Luxembourg has a grand duke. And the United Arab Emirates has a president, though he is a monarch. Although Charles is estimated to have a personal net worth between $750 million and $1.44 billion, others far surpass him. Leaders in Thailand, Saudi Arabia and Brunei are estimated to be worth well over $10 billion.
Italian foreign minister calls off Paris trip after French ‘insults’ (Reuters) Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani called off a trip to Paris on Thursday, saying the French interior minister had offended Italy and its Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni with unacceptable “insults”. Earlier, the French minister, Gerald Darmanin, told RMC radio that Meloni was “unable to solve the migration problems on which she was elected” and accused her of “lying” to voters that she could end a crisis over growing numbers of boat migrants. News of his comments came as Tajani was preparing to fly to Paris to see his French counterpart—a trip that was aimed partly at improving relations between the two European Union countries that have grown increasingly brittle. France swiftly issued a statement in which it sought to reassure Rome of its willingness to work closely with Italy, but it was not enough to persuade Tajani to catch his plane. It was the latest in a series of clashes between Paris and Rome since Meloni took office last October at the head of a nationalist, conservative government which has a very different world vision to that of French President Emmanuel Macron.
Kremlin accuses Washington of directing drone attack on Putin (Washington Post) The Kremlin spokesman on Thursday accused the United States of ordering what Moscow alleges was an assassination attempt on President Vladimir Putin with two drones that were sent to attack the Russian president’s official residence. “We know very well that decisions about such actions, about such terrorist attacks, are made not in Kyiv, but in Washington, and Kyiv does what it is told,” Dmitry Peskov told reporters Thursday. John Kirby, the spokesman for the U.S. National Security Council, said Peskov “is just lying.”
Russian mercenary chief Prigozhin says his forces will leave Bakhmut next week (Reuters) Yevgeny Prigozhin, leader of Russia’s Wagner Group mercenary force, said in a sudden and dramatic announcement on Friday that his forces would leave the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut that they have been trying to capture since last summer. Prigozhin said they would pull back on May 10—ending their involvement in the longest and bloodiest battle of the war—because of heavy losses and inadequate ammunition supplies. He asked defence chiefs to insert regular army troops in their place. “I’m pulling Wagner units out of Bakhmut because in the absence of ammunition they’re doomed to perish senselessly,” Prigozhin said in a statement. Prigozhin has vented increasing anger at what he describes as lack of support from the Russian defence establishment. Earlier on Friday he appeared in a video surrounded by dozens of corpses he said were Wagner fighters, and yelling and swearing at Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov. He said they were to blame for Wagner’s losses because they had starved it of ammunition.
Earthquake-Proof, Not Corruption-Proof: Turkey’s Needless Deaths (NYT) The building began convulsing at 4:17 a.m. Firat Yayla was awake in bed, scrolling through videos on his phone. His mother was asleep down the hall. The region along Turkey’s border with Syria was known for earthquakes, but this apartment complex was new, built to withstand disaster. It was called Guclu Bahce, or Mighty Garden. Mr. Yayla’s own cousin had helped build it. He and his business partner had boasted that the complex could withstand even the most powerful tremor. So, as the earth heaved for more than a minute, Mr. Yayla, 21, and his 62-year-old mother, Sohret Guclu, a retired schoolteacher, remained inside. At that very moment, though, Mr. Yayla’s cousin, the developer, was leaping for safety from a second-story balcony. What Mr. Yayla and his mother had not known was that the system to ensure that buildings were safely constructed to code had been tainted by money and politics. A developer won zoning approval for the project after donating more than $200,000 to a local soccer club, where the mayor is an honorary president. The building inspector said that, even after the project had failed its inspection, the developers used political influence to get the doors open. The Feb. 6 earthquake revealed the shaky foundation on which so much growth was built. More than 50,000 people died as buildings toppled, crumbled or pancaked. Guclu Bahce, the mighty earthquake-proof complex, was among them. An estimated 65 people died there.
8 Are Dead in Shooting in Serbia, a Day After School Massacre (NYT) The Serbian police arrested a suspect early Friday after an hourslong overnight manhunt for a gunman who killed eight people and injured at least 14 others near Belgrade, according to Serbia’s Interior Ministry. The attack late Thursday was the nation’s second mass shooting in two days and rattled a country still reeling from an attack at a school that killed eight students and a security guard. Hundreds of police officers had gone door to door in the search for a 21-year-old male suspect, according to RTS, Serbia’s public broadcaster. They deployed helicopters and surrounded the area where they believed he was hiding, the report said. The gunman, who was in a moving vehicle, used an automatic weapon and fled the scene, according to RTS, which said the attack took place around Mladenovac, a municipality in the southern part of the capital, Belgrade.
Press group: China biggest global jailer of journalists (AP) China was the biggest global jailer of journalists last year with more than 100 behind bars, according to a press freedom group, as President Xi Jinping’s government tightened control over society. Xi’s government also was one of the biggest exporters of propaganda content, according to Reporters without Boarders. China ranked second to last on the group’s annual index of press freedom, behind only neighbor North Korea. The ruling Communist Party has tightened already strict controls on media in China, where all newspapers and broadcasters are state-owned. Websites and social media are required to enforce censorship that bans material that might spread opposition to one-party rule.
Israelis call out perks for ultra-Orthodox in latest protests (Washington Post) Israel’s protest movement, having forced the government to pause its attempt to overhaul the national judiciary system, pivoted to other targets in demonstrations across the country Thursday, including the exemption from military service and other special privileges long granted to the growing ultra-Orthodox community. Thousands marched for a “Day of Disruption to Demand Equality” focused on the unequal burdens of citizenship and status of the ultra-Orthodox, or Haredim as they are known in Israel. Ultra-Orthodox citizens are largely shielded from the country’s mandatory draft and educational standards and their families benefit from heavy public subsidies that allow boys and men to devote years to religious study instead of working and paying taxes in the mainstream economy. Demonstrators blocked roads, lined bridges and picketed the homes of cabinet members. While many still chanted against the judicial overhaul, which some ministers are seeking to revive, most focused on other concerns, including spiking inflation and rising crime. The anger against the special status of the Haredi has long been a dynamic in Israeli politics, but it has grown more intense as the community has ballooned to roughly 13 percent of Israel’s total population, making them the country’s fastest growing demographic.
Fighting rages in Khartoum, civilians complain of being forgotten (Reuters) Heavy gunfire echoed around Khartoum again on Friday as civilians trapped by fighting in the Sudanese capital said the army and rival paramilitary forces were ignoring their plight. “It’s been four days without electricity and our situation is difficult... We are the victims of a war that we aren’t a part of. No one cares about the citizen,” said Othman Hassan, 48, a resident of the southern outskirts of Khartoum. Despite multiple ceasefire declarations, the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) appeared to be battling each other for control of territory in the capital ahead of proposed talks. The sudden collapse into warfare has killed hundreds, triggered a humanitarian disaster, sent an exodus of refugees to neighbouring states and risks dragging in outside powers, further destabilising an already restive region.

An Italian court on Wednesday acquitted former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi in a case where he was charged with paying witnesses to lie about his involvement in underage prostitution.
Prosecutors had demanded that Berlusconi be imprisoned for six years for bribing 24 guests at his parties to give false testimony in a previous trial, where he was charged with paying for sex with a 17-year-old nightclub dancer.
He was acquitted in the underage prostitution case because of a lack of proof that he knew he was paying a minor. The former leader was then charged for bribing witnesses.
A split case
The case of paying off witnesses was split between three cities — Siena, Rome and Milan — because of where the witnesses lived.
Berlusconi has already been acquitted in the cases in Siena and Rome. Prosecutors there are appealing this decision.
The case in Milan is the most high-profile of the three.
Berlusconi has previously acknowledged giving money to his guests but said that it was compensation for the reputational damage they suffered.
There have been a total of 35 criminal court cases against him but only one conviction. The total number of cases refers to separate court cases rather than individual trials at each phase of judicial procedure.
He was convicted in 2014 but this was overturned the following year, a verdict upheld by an appeals court and the Supreme Court. Berlusconi's one trial to conclude in a final conviction was the one for tax fraud, false accounting and embezzlement.
Italy's top court confirmed Berlusconi's sentence, four years' imprisonment, though three were excused by a pardon. Berlusconi was able to cover the remaining time with community service.
Berlusconi's downfall and comeback
The case has long cast a shadow on his political career.
Dubbed as the "bunga bunga parties," the scandal led to his political downfall and the end of his fourth term as prime minister in 2011.
Berlusconi's Forza Italia party — a key player in current Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's coalition — has consistently denied the allegations. According to the party, Berlusconi has been a victim of a yearslong ploy by magistrates to end his time in politics.
Since then, Berlusconi was re-elected to Italy's upper house in 2022 with more than 50% of the votes in September in the northern city of Monza, where he also owns a soccer team.
That marked a significant comeback for him as he was expelled from the Senate in 2013 because of a tax fraud conviction stemming from his media business.

That's why we are here with the article, which discusses the biography and much unknown information about the former Democratic Party representative.
Who is Tulsi Gabbard?
Tulsi Gabbard is a popular American politician who served as a representative for eight years, from 2013 to 2021. And in 2020, she will have contested the presidential elections, but she couldn't pass through the last phase. Still, everyone has praised the boldness of Tulsi for her bold decisions. In 2012, she became the first Hindu American to become a U.S. representative. In addition to that, Tulsi is also a U.S. Army reserve officer who has been serving her mother country for more than two decades, and now she has been promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. Thus, this politician and army person is now partnered with the FOX News channel as a guest speaker. We hope Tulsi will also emerge as a great television personality.

Tulsi Gabbard is a former Democratic Party supporter. She even supported Joe Biden during the presidential elections, but things became sour between Democratic Party workers and Tulsi. Thus, in October 2022, She decided to walk away from the Democratic team. Stating the reason on one YouTube channel, and here are her reasons for it, I can no longer remain in today's Democratic Party. It's now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue and stoking anti-white racism, and who actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms enshrined in our Constitution. Her reasons made her stay out of the Democratic Party, and no big incidents have happened to Tulsi to make her make this decision.
Early Life of Tulsi Gabbard
Tulsi Gabbard was born on April 12, 1981, in Leloaloa, Maoptasi County, on American Samoa's main island of Tutuila. Her early childhood days were well spent with her four siblings. FTX's Repayment Plan Boosts Bitcoin’s Q4 2024 Growth: Report
FTX's approved repayment plan may potentially boost Bitcoin’s growth in Q4 2024.
About 98% of FTX creditors receive roughly 119% of their claims' value.
Repayments to influence Bitcoin prices amid U.S. economic and regulatory changes
The cryptocurrency world is closely watching FTX's progression through its bankruptcy repayment plan, particularly its potential impact on Bitcoin's performance in the fourth quarter of 2024. After a complex legal process, a U.S. bankruptcy court has green-lighted FTX's initiative to begin repaying its creditors, with disbursements starting in December 2024.
FTX Settlement Plan
This phase is crucial as it aligns with the post-U.S. election period, adding economic and regulatory uncertainty to the market. FTX's settlement plan includes a phased repayment process, focusing first on retail investors and smaller claimants, who might recover full or nearly full value of their claims.
Around 98% of creditors are set to receive about 119% of the value of their claims based on the November 2022 asset valuations, just before FTX's downfall. This methodical payout is critical for regaining trust in the crypto sector and marks a significant recovery effort following one of the industry's largest scandals. But, the creditors are still upset over their 10-25% returns from the FTX repayments.
Related: FTX Plans To Pay Customers and Creditors by Liquidating Crypto Assets
How Will FTX’s Repayment Plan Affect Bitcoin?
The potential inflow of cash into the market from these repayments could create a bullish phase suggesting that recipients may reinvest their recovered funds back into digital assets like Bitcoin. Such an influx could uplift market sentiment and possibly drive prices up, especially since Bitcoin has historically performed well from October through March.
However, the repayment strategy has faced some critiques, particularly from creditors who had hoped for repayments in cryptocurrency to potentially benefit from the significant rise in asset values since FTX's collapse.
Bitcoin, for example, has escalated from around $16,000 at the time of FTX's bankruptcy to over $60,000 in October 2024. The decision for cash repayments, despite being substantial, may not fully reflect the current market value of the cryptocurrencies originally held by creditors.
As the repayments begin, the crypto market will also face external factors like U.S. monetary policy and regulatory developments. And, the Federal Reserve's interest rate decisions along with the outcome of the November elections are expected to have some impact.

Whale Investors’ Rising Demand Keeps Bitcoin (BTC) Price on Edge
Key Points
Bitcoin’s price is showing signs of a potential reversal despite recent volatility.
Whale investors are steadily increasing their Bitcoin holdings, leading to a decline in supply on centralized exchanges.
Despite the recent drop from $65.6K to about $63.2K, the Bitcoin (BTC) price closed September with a bullish outlook, indicating a possible reversal in the near future. The leading cryptocurrency is aiming to recapture the 200-day Moving Average (MA) as a support level.
Bitcoin’s volatility is predicted to persist in the upcoming weeks, fueled by expectations of a bullish fourth quarter.
Economic Shifts and Market Predictions
The ongoing economic shift, spurred by the recent Fed’s rate cut and the upcoming US 2024 general elections, is expected to boost the bullish crypto outlook.
The Bitcoin price is likely to follow Gold’s price action, which is already in the discovery phase.
According to a well-known crypto analyst known as PlanB, Bitcoin’s price is on track to reach a new all-time high soon after consolidating between $60k and $70K for the past eight months. Historically, Bitcoin’s price tends to perform better in the fourth quarter after closing September with a bullish outlook.
However, renowned analyst Peter Brandt has repeatedly warned traders of a potential sudden Bitcoin selloff if it does not consistently close above the July peak of about $69.9K.
Technical Analysis and Whale Investors
From a technical perspective, the Bitcoin price in the four-hour timeframe has signaled a potential selloff in the upcoming weeks before a macro reversal by the end of this year. If the Bitcoin bears persist in the coming weeks, BTC’s price will likely retrace to the support range between $52k and 54k.
On-chain data analysis provided by Coinglass shows that the supply of Bitcoin on centralized exchanges declined by more than 10K in the past week. This drop to a multi-year low signals increased buying pressure.
The significant reduction of Bitcoin on CEXs is primarily due to the rising demand from the US spot BTC ETFs and other whale investors. Over the past four weeks, the US spot BTC ETFs, led by BlackRock’s IBIT, have accumulated Bitcoins worth more than $1.9 billion.
On Monday, the US spot BTC ETFs registered a net cash inflow of about $61 million, led by IBIT’s $72 million.
Also, individual companies headed by MicroStrategy Inc. have been accumulating more coins recently. Today, Japanese Metaplanet Inc. announced that it had successfully purchased an additional 107.93 Bitcoins, worth more than $6.9 million, thus currently holding about 506.75 BTCs.
It’s worth noting that El Salvador continues to purchase 1 Bitcoin per day to strengthen its crypto portfolio.

Tre Lamar vs Zachary Wentz- Chaos Cup Round 1
Referee Jessica Carr was in charge of our first matchup here tonight, and she called for the bell, meaning this match, and the 2024 MPW Chaos Cup were officially underway! Before we even get going here, Tre reaches out for a handshake, which Wentz accepts quickly, before the two men begin to circle one another. The two men lock up with Zach Wentz gaining a quick advantage over the younger man, picking his arm and trapping it in an arm bar, before quickly transitioning that armbar over into a hammerlock. Tre reached around and tried to trap Wentz in a headlock, but Zach wrenched the arm, preventing anything of the sort from happening. When that angle didn’t work, Tre went about twisting out of the hammerlock, and trapping Wentz with a hammerlock of his own, but it didn’t last long before Wentz twisted out of that hold, wrung Tre’s arm, and trapped him in a wrist lock. Tre dropped down to a knee as Wentz applied pressure, but Tre was quickly back up to his feet, before executing a forward roll, followed by a cartwheel, smacking Wentz’s wrist to release the wrist lock, tossing Wentz with an arm drag, before locking in an arm bar! Tre Lamar matching Zach Wentz hold for hold here in the early going!
Tre tried to keep Wentz down with a knee placed on Wentz’s head, using it to create more torque on the arm, but Wentz managed to get out from under Tre, and back to his feet. Wentz sent Tre off the ropes and dropped down, but Tre rolled over Wentz, getting back up, before catching Wentz with another arm drag, and then right back into the arm bar! Wentz managed to get back up, tossing Tre with an arm drag of his own, but Tre rolled through, continuing the momentum and tossing Wentz with an armdrag back into the armbar!
Wentz once again got back to his feet, this time electing to pull Tre Lamar’s hair and back him into the corner to get Tre to release the hold! The ref was quick to get on Wentz about staying off Tre’s hair, and he relented, putting his hands up as he leaned against the ropes, taking a quick breather to refocus.Wentz grabbed Tre again and pressed a forearm to his throat in some version of a choke in the corner, the ref counting for Wentz to break the hold. He did so at three, once again, raising his arms and proclaiming his innocence. However, that may have been a fakeout, as he launched for a chop to Tre’s chest, but Tre ducked and moved out of the corner, pushing Wentz into the corner, and catching Wentz with a chop of his own! The first one didn’t seem to phase Wentz much, but Tre followed it up with a second, and then a third chop, each one the pain in Wentz’s face becoming more and more evident. Tre tried to fire away with a fourth, but Wentz once again grabbed a handful of Tre’s hair and forced him into the corner, before beginning to fire away with rapid fire machine gun chops to Tre! Each one as loud as a gunshot throughout the venue, and punctuated by one final, brutal chop that dropped Tre to his knees! Tre clutched his chest, and began to crawl away from Wentz, trying to create a little separation. Wentz responded by catching Tre with a boot to the face.
Tre tried to use the ropes to pull himself up,and Wentz ran off the ropes to try and nail him with something, but Tre managed to catch Wentz with a drop toehold, sending Wentz down into the ropes, before kicking the rope up into Wentz’s throat, kicking Wentz in the head, and pulling on the rope and sending Wentz rolling backwards, Tre rolling back with him. Wentz rolled up to his knees, and Tre sprang up, before nailing Wentz with a big beautiful dropkick right to the back of the head! Wentz held the back of his head, rolling out of the ring to recover! Tre quickly got back to his feet and measured, before diving through the ropes, crashing into Zach Wentz with a tope suicida, both men crashing into the guardrail! Tre rolled back into the ring and looked to be going for another one, but Wentz quickly bailed out of the way to another side of the ring, but Tre managed to stop, slide, change direction, and dive out of that side of the ring! Tre catches Wentz with ANOTHER suicide dive! Tre takes a moment to flex before tossing Wentz back into the ring, and climbing up onto the apron himself. Wentz tried to charge Tre, to stop whatever he had in mind, but Tre leaped up and caught Wentz with a jumping enziguri, knocking Wentz back into the center of the ring! Tre then leaped up to the top rope, and went for a moonsault, but crashed down to the mat as there was nobody home! Wentz got out of the way! Now it was Wentz going up to the top rope, leaping off and crashing into Tre with a crossbody, but Tre rolled through it, and instead trapped Wentz in a surprise pin!
1….2…. Kickout!
Tre almost surprised Wentz there with a flash pin! Tre got up and tried to keep the offense going, but Wentz cut him off and nearly took his head off with a clothesline! That clothesline knocked Tre completely loopy, and Tre didn’t even look like he knew where he was!
Zach Wentz climbed to the top rope, and waited for Tre to get back to his feet, before leaping off and knocking Tre back down with a flying Axe Handle. Wentz shook out his wrist for a second, before getting back to his feet, once again grabbing a handful of Tre’s hair, dragging Tre towards the ropes, before using his knee to choke Tre with the ropes! This time the referee got a count of four before Wentz released the hold, looking back at official Jessica Carr when he did, telling her that he had until five. Wentz was clearly growing more and more frustrated here as the match went on. Wentz grabbed Tre again, pulling him up before sending him off the ropes, catching him with a Kitchen Sink on the rebound, sending Tre flying over his knee, clutching his gut as he hit the mat. Wentz followed that up with a stiff kick to the back, before blowing a snot rocket down at Tre, and catching Tre with a kick right to the head! Wentz lifted Tre back up again, sent him off the ropes again, and then caught Tre with ANOTHER Kitchen Sink! Tre hit the mat again, holding his abdominal muscles, as they must be screaming in pain from the repeated assault from Wentz. Wentz stood over Tre with his hands on his hips, and there was almost a look on Wentz’s face as if he was slightly disappointed. Tre tried to fire at Wentz with a right hand, but it didn’t have much effect. Wentz told Tre to hit him again, and Tre did, this one getting a reaction out of Wentz, causing him to hunch over a bit from the gut shot. Tre got back to his feet and nailed Wentz with a forearm. Tre tried to follow it up with another one, but Wentz caught him with a drop toe hold, before getting on Tre’s back and grabbing two handfuls full of hair, grinding Tre’s face against the mat! Wentz got back up and followed it with a knee drop right to the back of Tre’s head!
Wentz picked Tre back up again and tried to go for the same sequence as before: send him off the ropes, kitchen sink. But this time Tre was ready for it, dodging the knee and catching Wentz with a surprise Rollup!
1...2… Kickout!
Wentz kicked out, and Tre charged back at him again, but Wentz picked the ankle, gaining control of the leg, before twisting Tre’s leg with a dragon screw, and transitioning that into a single leg boston crab! Wentz sat all the way back on hold, wrenching it in, as Tre cried out in agony and tried to make it to the ropes! Tre was almost there, but as he tried to grab the ropes, Wentz transitioned from the Single Leg Crab into an STF, locking in the hold around Tre’s head while trapping the leg! Tre kept fighting though, and eventually, even with Zach Wentz’s weight on his back, Tre managed to drag himself to the ropes to force the break! It took until 4, but Wentz eventually relented to the ref’s count, and released the hold. Tre had to take a couple of moments to compose himself, the entire time, Wentz standing over him, stalking him like how a lion stalks its next meal. Tre got up, only to get caught with a forearm right to the low of the back from Wentz. Wentz picked Tre back up and pushed Tre into the ropes, and when Tre stumbled backwards, caught him with another forearm to the back. Wentz’s attack here had transitioned to now going after Tre Lamar’s lower back, which would make it hard to execute much of Tre’s high flying offense. Wentz tried to catch Tre with another forearm, but a back elbow from Tre managed to get Wentz off of him. Tre turned around and began blasting Wentz with forearm after forearm to the jaw, trying to wear down Wentz driving Wentz to his knees before letting out a roar of frustration and passion!
However, taking his eyes off Wentz proved to be a mistake, as Wentz caught Tre with a straight right hand to the jaw, which nearly knocked Tre out! Tre fell right down to his knees, clearly dazed from that last strike. Wentz grabbed Tre and snapmared him to the other side of the ring, before climbing out of the ring onto the apron. Wentz climbed up to the top rope, and tried to go for another diving Axe Handle, but this time Tre leaped up and caught Wentz with a dropkick on the way down! Wentz clutched at his ribs as he hit the mat, and got back to his feet, having the air knocked right out of him. Tre ran off the ropes and caught Wentz with a running forearm, knocking him down, before running off the ropes again, this time catching Wentz with a pump kick! Wentz got back up again, but this time Tre kicked Wentz’s leg out from under him, dropping Wentz to his knees, before catching Wentz with a superkick right to the jaw! Wentz rolled out of the ring, and Tre got up, looking for a suicide dive, but Wentz hopped up onto the arpon to block. Tre instead slid through Wentz’s legs to the floor on the outside, before pulling Wentz’s feet out from under him, sending Wentz face first down onto the apron! Wentz hit his face, and Tre slid back into the ring, ran the ropes, before diving over the top rope and taking out Zach Wentz with a gorgeous Tope Con Hilo, and he even stuck the landing on the way down! Tre grabbed Wentz again, tossed him back into the ring, before getting up onto the apron, waiting for Wentz to get up, before using the ropes as a springboard, absolutely crushing Wentz with a Springboard Clothesline! Tre hooked both legs for the cover!
1….2…. Kickout!
Wentz stays alive! Tre gets back to his feet, and grabs Wentz, but Wentz gets Tre off of him with a strike to the midsection. Wentz gets up and tries to run the ropes, coming back at Tre with a clothesline, but Tre ducks it, before hitting Wentz with a back elbow, transitioning and nailing Wentz with a rolling elbow, before measuring and catching Wentz with a Bicycle Knee, sending Wentz off the ropes again, before leaping up and crushing Wentz with a leaping double stomp, caving in Wentz’s chest with his boots! Tre went for another cover, trying to put this one away!
1….2…. Kickout!
Wentz kicks out again! Wentz wouldn’t stay down! Tre pulled himself up to his knees and took a deep breath. Just what would it take to put Zach Wentz away here tonight?! He sighed to himself before getting back to his feet, grabbing Wentz, and trying to lift him up into a fireman’s carry. Wentz slips off though, but before Wentz can do anything, Tre sweeps Wentz’s leg out, dropping Wentz to his knees, before catching Wentz with a superkick to the back of the head! Tre lifted Wentz back up, and this time managed to plant Wentz into the mat with a TKO! Tre quickly got back up to his feet, climbed to the top rope, before jumping off and coming down on Wentz with a double stomp to the chest! Tre then looks to finish it off, scooping Zach up, and planting him with the Brainbuster! Cover!
1….2…3!
“Here is your winner, Tre Lamar!”
Tre Lamar is moving on to round 2 of the Chaos Cup!
