“Well I’ve flown through all of Gotham and Metropolis twice, and did a once-over around the country, not a trace. I’m getting really worried.” 

“She has to be somewhere, how long have we been searching?”

The comms have been flooded for the past two days with nervous chatter and consistent but pointless updates in regards to your unknown whereabouts. Clark and Connor have been doing the physical searching while Bruce has hacked into any and every surveillance camera he could in hopes of the system picking up your face somewhere, anywhere.

Your siblings have taken over Gotham patrols, Barbara occasionally taking over the online search while Alfred forces Bruce to get some sleep. 

You’ve been living with him for well over six months now, adjustment has gotten easier for you, and you’d gotten more comfortable in going off on your own to explore. Now, Clark never has a problem with this, encouraging you to explore as much as you could, “The world has so much to offer, soon you’ll understand why we care so much for keeping it safe” he’d say. 

Bruce however felt it was reckless to use your powers so casually, you shouldn’t depend on them the way you do, that it's a liability to your civilian life. It’s not something you should be so careless about, “Your safety and well-being is not someone you should take lightly.” 

Naturally, you are too stubborn to see this was purely out of worry, that he actually cares for you. You’re new to that concept, it’s one thing you have yet to fully adjust to. Maybe that’s why you reacted the way you did during your last conversation with Bruce. The seething anger that heated your bones, the dense lump that formed in your throat as you spoke. The unpleasant pit in your stomach as you slammed the cave door behind you, the sweaty palms and the inexplicable reflex within you that told you to keep yourself guarded. To not let these people close enough to stab you in the back, to protect yourself and your skills. Do not allow yourself to be held back.  

So now here you are, on some farmland in a tiny town in Japan. You weren’t sure this town has had access to any recent tech for at least the past ten years. It was a refreshing change, it reminded you of all your favorite things about Smallville. The smell of the crops and the way the cherry blossoms bloomed along the outskirts of the fields in the spring. The pink of the petals was soft and peaceful, the wind blowing softly through them released a pleasant floral smell that made you feel at peace. 

Arriving there was an experience, you just flew and flew until you found yourself in a field at the crack of dawn, opening your eyes to an elderly Japanese couple standing over you, concern etched into their aged faces, confusion was evident in the way they spoke to you, but so was kindness. 

Mr and Mrs Kita were kind people, taking you in without question because they knew you were in need. They told you their story, about their grandson and how he goes to school in the city.

And so they invited you in and were delighted to find that you speak Japanese, although their dialect was different from yours, they welcomed you with open arms. You’ve worked in their fields the past two days, finding peace within yourself, and as nice as it was, you missed your family. 

Back in the house, the couple observes you as they do everyday, you pay no mind as you continue to harvest crops. 

“She’s a bit of an odd one, isn't she?”

“I quite like her, honest worker, though she seems as though she carries a heavy burden.” 

“Yes, I noticed that. She's quite adorable, she almost reminds me of our Shinsuke.”

“I do see it Dear, perhaps they’ll meet when he visits for the summer.” 

“I do hope so.”

“I’ve got something.” Bruce stood in his seat, gloved hands clicking away relentlessly as the batcomputer, pulling up a global map of movements that have broken the sound barrier within the past week.  

Clark stood behind him, eyeing the screen that was littered with red lines, the United States being full to the brim given their recent search. There were more streaks around the world leading to the landmarks, all which Clark could recall making. However there was one that stood out to him, a singular streak that abruptly stops in the middle of Hyogo, Japan. 

“What could she possibly be doing in the middle of Japan” 

“I really don’t know Clark but we need to go now. Wait for me outside, I’ll update the others.” 

All that was going through Bruce’s mind was seeing you again, having a rational, calm conversation where he isn’t so wound up from a failed mission and where you don’t feel so backed into a corner. 

Bruce Wayne isn’t very much a man of expressing feelings, granted, over time he has improved immensely, but he is nowhere near perfect and neither are you. You’re two people, a father and his daughter who are trying their best to be better for each other and for those you love. 

Bruce is a man who at times tends to lack patience, there are not many things he isn’t good at, unfortunately being emotionally vulnerable is one of the things he could use improvement on. 

That’s probably why he let you go that night instead of chasing after you, and it’s probably why he stayed silent while Lois was telling him off when he first told her and Clark that you were missing. 

If he’s learned anything in his time as a father, it’s that he’d do better, and he will continue to be a better father today than he was yesterday. 

Regardless, he knew he needed to get his daughter.

For one hour every day, at one o’ clock, you went and sat under the cherry blossoms, inhaling the comforting floral fumes, feeling the defined rays of sunlight peak through the branches of the tree and onto your soft skin. 

You knew the soft breeze by heart now, the way it felt softly dancing through your hair, the cool sensation of it against your hairline as it kissed away the beads of sweat formed by the day of work in the sun. You had decided last night that today you would go home, as peaceful as it was there you missed your family. You missed your dads and brothers and sisters, you missed the civilians you’d help on patrol. You missed helping people, but more than that you missed your family. You missed baking for them and laughing with them, learning about life and society with them by your side every step of the way. You had decided that today at sundown. you would leave everything in order and organized for the Kitas and bid your farewells, of course you would visit soon, they’re  kind people who took care of you when you needed it. 

You immediately knew something was off when you felt a sudden gust of air, uncharacteristic for the climate in this area. You knew for certain something was off when you heard the familiar swoosh of that cape. 

You turned slowly and sure enough, you saw Bruce, walking towards you in long powerful strides, Clark not far behind him. 

His steps are aggressive, almost sloppy, his strides large and powerful, his walk having more purpose than you’d ever seen it. 

You prepared yourself for the lecture, the mental image of his condescending glare as he breaded you for your lack of self preservation, your recklessness, how this could have compromised your identity, how you're stupid, so so stupid. How you don’t think. How you’re not worth it, a lost cause-

Two strong arms wrapped themselves around you before you knew what was happening. The scent of cologne and the faint smell of metal filling your senses, why isn’t he yelling at me? 

“I was so worried. We all were. Please, don’t do that again, we’ll talk it through next time. I’m sorry.” His voice was gentle, not what you were expecting, his voice was kind, so much so that you felt your eyes glaze over, a wet sensation making its way down your cheek. . You were crying. There was that puddle of warmth pooling in your chest, that sense of security and safety. Clark came up behind you and held you tight, the feeling intensified. 

Ah. Now it made sense. His steps weren't aggressive, they were nervous, emotional.

“You really had us scared there, kiddo. Next time, come to Metropolis, or Smallville, or the tower, anywhere with anyone, but talk to us. We’re always going to be here for you because that’s what family is.” 

Tears fell from your eyes, though you didn't understand why, tears were typically for sadness, but you weren’t sad. These were tears of disbelief, of joy, of love. How funny it is that you never, not once thought you could possibly be cared for like this, that you could ever obtain a proper family like the kinds you learned about. You decided then and there that you would be damned if you ever lost them, if you ever left this. 

“I’m sorry I left, I shouldn’t have. I was going to go back today– the people. The people here have been taking care of me, I was going to help them and say goodbye.” 

Clark shook his head, “You don’t need to apologize, it’s okay, Y/n. Why don’t you go say goodbye, and we can have dinner with Ma and Pa. Sound good?” 

You nodded gingerly, feeling like a small child, you never got a childhood, you didn’t get coddled nor did you get spoken to in a loving manner. You were never reassured nor were you truly shown kindness until the night they saved you from that lab. 

The world is a cold and scary place. You’d seen some of humanity's worst, you were created by them, you were intended to be one of them. You’ve found that within the world there’s kindness, there’s love, there’s peace. 

You pulled away from them and made your way through the field and into the house, smiling at Mr and Mrs Kita sitting at the dinner table playing a game of chess, Mrs. Kita stood and smiled at you, as if she already knew. 

“I want to thank you both sincerely for your hospitality, I can’t thank you enough for the kindness you have shown me,” your voice shook but you continued, “I promise to visit again soon, and anything you need, please let me know and I will give it to you.” 

Mr. Kita laughed and shook his head, “You owe us nothing, if anything we owe you, the fields look better than I’ve ever seen them, you’re always welcome here.” 

Mrs. Kita smacked his arm lightly, and smiled and pulled you in for a hug, “That isn’t the only reason, what he means is we will always welcome you here with open arms, Dear, be safe.” 

You hugged them and retreated back to your dads, joining them on their way back to Kansas, where your loving family was already waiting.

She laughed, “Well, you don’t have it like you used to, old man. I’d like something to look at every so often, why don't you go buy yourself some leggings?” 

He scoffed, “Not happening, Woman. I don’t want to talk about this anymore. They best not keep Y/n from visiting or I’ll fly to the states and get her myself.” 

The room erupted into giggles and laughter, it was peaceful in the small farm in Hyogo that night.

hi this is a vague question and i apologize but HELLO WHAT IS "what if we were traveling in the worm forest and there was only one flesh tent" I MUST KNOW

Oh!!! So this is my latest project of all my projects - so newborn that it is barely formed (whereas the other two projects in that poll already have art and writing and even dedicated blogs here and here).

The project is loosely called 'flesh castles' in my mind and it's a melting pot of my main interests: knights, forests, body horror and sessile marine life. I haven't posted about it online anywhere as I am still brainstorming it (also trying to come up with a blog name better than 'flesh castles' for a dedicated sideblog). I don't know if it will be an art project or a writing project - so far there is more art than writing.

In summary: there is a world covered in giant trees and deep, dark forests. Within these forests are castles made of flesh; castles which shelter and nurture the people within. They are ruled by fairy princesses and guarded by animals called 'knights' against dangerous wildlife such as unicorns. Word is recieved that a flesh castle out in the ice wastes is in trouble, so a scribe and a knightskin (human warrior wearing the skin/armour of a knight animal) travel together to find out more. They may also share a flesh tent and maybe even kiss.

The forests are made of tree-worm hybrids (symbiotic worms acting as a circulatory system to help pump fluids up the imossibly tall trees), worm-trees (based on sessile worms and corals), stinging trees (corals, anemones, polyp stages of jellyfish), fern worms (crinoids). The air sometimes becomes thick with aerial algae and plankton and is too wet to breathe without a protective mask, covering everything in a green slime as you walk through the algal fog.

Now I'm thinking about the logistics of having a Switch in Wonderland. I know it sort of adapts to people's subconscious needs (hence the existence of Cecil), but I was always under the impression that it ended only on the subconscious and would still fit somewhat in the ramifications of your one wish. Is there only one wish you can make? I mean, as kids they could wish for whatever they wanted any time they wanted, but obviously Wonderland was much different back then. And with how much emphasis is placed on the wish, I'd think it was the only you got. But anyways, back to my main point. I'm assuming that either the Switch had to have spawned spontaneously after Orlam and Iggy got together or that Orlam, coming into Wonderland with a newfound affection for Iggy, had it (as well as other Iggy bait) tossed in with his usual castle and guards. But... is it just a normal Switch? Like does it have all the same games normal Switches do? And how do the online capabilities work? I mean, there was a TV in Gidget's mansion in Arc 5, so it's not too farfetched for there to be some kind of Wonderlandian equivalent to the internet as well, but there's no way it could connect to the real world internet, right? Otherwise it would all get fucked up. I guess the most probable answer is that it has all the real life games Iggy could want, and maybe it magically keeps up to date with the current switch games in the real world, which would probably take years to come out considering the time speed difference between Wonderland in real life. But now is the most fun question: Are there Wonderland exclusive games? Tailored specifically to your needs? Perhaps Iggy can't get enough of the Kirby games he already has, and just wishes up a new one. Or a Balthier Bunanza dating sim (Orlam would be so jealous. Well, probably not, actually, but I find it funny.). Honestly, that's what this has all been leading to. I want to know if it's possible for Iggy to just wish for new games to appear on his magical Wonderdo Switch. I wanna do that. This ask has been brought to you by my unyielding curiosity and obsession with this game.

I feel like a lot of wonderland just formed and evolved based on their inherent wants and needs in addition to their actual wishes. like the fact that when they were kids, they had ice cream and cookies and snacks being given to them, while as adults there's an inn with alcohol lol. even things like how the forest grew and warped around bucks. how the castle and nobles formed for orlam. how the village changed around gidget. none of these things were directly related to their wishes but kind happened in tandem with them based on their current psyches. (also why in arc 5 everything gets even more twisted because their inner thoughts have become so warped and wonderland responded to this)

so I do think a lot of the things they have in wonderland do just kinda come into being in some way or another. perhaps in ways that seem like serendipitous coincidences to the ppl in question

LOL having said that no I don't think there's Internet down there and definitely nothing that would connect to the outside world 🤣 the idea about the games though is super interesting. my initial thoughts are that the games would be formed from their impressions and memories of the real games. but they wouldn't be exact (there would be strange differences perhaps) especially if it's a game they've never played before (in this case, I think a game would be created that fits what that person thinks the game would be like) but I think that those playing the games wouldn't notice the oddities because they're so entrenched in wonderland that it feels normal

Hey baby leftists I know it's tempting to want to join your local leftist organization but don't do it. I know you have no idea where to start but joining a massive organization is not going to help you either. You don't need people in authority passing messages down a pyramid scheme to your chapter about whether or not you can march or feed people. The only groups I hold in exception to this are Food Not Bombs and SRA chapters.

It's way more efficient to band together with friends and like minded people. Get a couple friends together, print some posters, get some spray on adhesive and go around town put them up. Or you can use packing tape if you're placing them on poles. Gather some food supplies and go to your local encampment and pass it out. Get into your local underground music scene and start tabling zines and having conversations with people. Make friends with the graffiti artists in your area so you can band together to eliminate fascist propaganda as soon as it appears. Talk about workers rights with your coworkers. Get a group of people to ask your neighborhood to donate gently used items and then make a free store for people in need near you. Start conversations with drag bars and gay bars in your town and offer help should they need people to guard the door. If you have firearm or medical experience, offer trainings/teachings to your community for free. Get a group of friends together and go to the range once a week. Take Stop The Bleed courses. Put zines in your local libraries. Talk with queer people about diy hrt. Print stickers and slap them around town. Open your home to women escaping abuse. Take over an abandoned property and squat it (look up squatters rights in your area!). Protect the forests your town wants to tear down by spiking trees (look up tree spiking) or living in it. Encourage your community to support each other and stop relying on police defense. LISTEN TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES THAN YOU.

Start an affinity group. Look at CrimeThinc. Talk to people online with your views and see how you can help. Direct action is miles better than being a card carrier of some organization, trust on that.

Recap, this is my own interpretation of some of the Sonic characters, there might be OCs in the middle here and there based solely on my knowledge of the franchise.

Name: Prince Allen "Sonic" Mobius

Age: 19 years old

Species: Mobian Hedgehog

Team and position: Team Sonic Heroes, Leader

Sonic is considered in Mobius to be the protector of the planet, having fought Eggman countless times, even in his youth, as it was in his blood, even if most have forgotten about it.

The Mobius Royal Family was formed of noble heroes of the planet, having acted in various battles in the name of their people, a family of royals that earned their crown by caring for the less fortunate.

The trend of heroic acts continued as such, until we get to Sonic's mother, Aleena the hedgehog, the knight of the wind, and the last queen before her kingdom fell into ruin. Married to Ogilvie Maurice the first and giving birth to 3 kids, Allen (Sonic), Opal (Sonia) and Maurice the Second (Manic), Aleena was a kind-hearted and generous queen, having done a lot to make sure each place in Mobius had a trusting leader, such as the Accorn family from the forests and the Soleanna from the skies of the old Babylonian kingdom, no one knew what had happened to cause her to become a tyrant.

The Dark queen, as she began to refer to herself as, let a strange man, who came to her kingdom on the same day she turned evil, fill her kindown with despair and take control of everything, his name was Doctor Ivo Kintobor Robotnik, a strange tall man, taller than any mobian alive, calling himself something named "human".

The other royals came to aid the citizens of the main city and any nearby villages, King Maurice managing to run off with his kids in his arms despite being deathly wounded by his queen's new partner, Delphius the Orc, a unknown creature that married his way into the throne some days after the event, and not so long afterwards, The queen and her new king showed their new heir.

Maurice managed to reach his sister's place, with only so much life hanging onto him, he had been bleeding out all the way there with his kids, but sadly, Sonic was nowhere in sight. Bernadette feared the worst for her nephew, but her brother assure her that he was safe, as his wife had another guest over, from the Babylonian empire, Long Claw, who managed to save the blue hedgehog, she tried to hand him to Maurice but, they got separated, Maurice perished due to his wounds, and Sonia and Manic would be raised by their aunt Bernadette, their uncle Jules, and their uncle grandpa Chuck, while Sonic was kept safe with Long Claw.

Longclaw finds a place to hide Sonic, but she's aware that keeping him forever in the same place won't do any good for him, at 3 years oldhe was already running and breaking down badniks, so Long Claw opts for them to become nomads, of course, she teaches him to avoid the robots he sees roaming around, even if the "beetles" look innocent, she knows what it can do, or at least part of it.

Sonic and Long Claw finally arrived at a safe place, Knothole, the accorn Family's secret village, it took 4 years but it was worth it.

Long claw arrived at night and was escorted by some guards after showing evidence that she was not roboticized and that she had the prince with her, brought to the king's room in the great tree palace, she delivered the sad news of King Marurice's passing, she asked for Sonic to have a home there in exchange, she would act in any position provided by the Accorn royal family, who decided to make her a teacher as she was the original archivist of documents of historic events, and the next generation deserved to know about the past for a hopeful future.

From here, Sonic's adventures in the games would take place with different eras and such, I shall elaborate on it more in the future as my time online has been limited due to classes and stuff.

in this film (no spoilers pls watch it) it shows a growth of nature, a combination of human life with the natural world around it. its an exploration of a strange alien landscape in a growing bubble in the states. the explorers are a group of scientists and experts and are all stunned by the unique traits of this ecosystem. in my watches I was never really able to see it as a take over of the world because it seemed so beautiful. everything combining . I went through and took screenshots of my favourite frames to really illustrate my point.

The Plant Life

The plants are my favourite thing in this movie. it creates such a beautiful , calm feeling. the first scene we get with lots of botanical beauty is the scene beside the lake. all the characters were entranced with the gentle colours and the irregularities in form. none of them looked like the same species yet came from the same stem. strange plant hybrids were everywhere. one of the characters even said "it feels like someone's gonna get married." this atmosphere shed them of their defences for a short period because of its stunning beauty and led to one of them being very caught of guard by the sudden ugly danger that lay close.

the colours are so beautiful, light and bright . the textures are equally as soft , lots of moss , curved edges and bendy shapes . the mould is so fluffy and soft , the colours making some thing gross and dangerous look like candy floss. the multicoloured lilies in the water almost feel like decorations after a party, plastic frills blown into nature by the wind.

these moments are from quite a short scene , but another example of the effervescent calmness is an unknown landscape. you should be scared watching but looking at this spongy, scattered mossy branches it feels more like a fairy forest than a place of danger.

Unsettling beauty

the. movie is full of subversions of what is scary and what is beautiful. imagine the difference in this shot if it was just a normal bog standard dead body. the addition of soft colours and textures really turns it from morbidity to a beautiful creation made by nature .

the textures in this scene are so gorgeous . there's the cottony fluff around the head , very airy fairy. the wiry reaching structures and pretty too , they remind me of shooters from a plant, like the way strawberries spread. the layering and colour choice , im just obsessed with this . there's so much imagery in art using skulls , but. this doesn't feel overdone it feels new, whimsical and so organic. its amazing how the detail doesn't look intentional , or man made.

this beauty paired with the grimy environment of the dingy abandoned swimming pool is a really cool juxtaposition. gets me thinking about my piece in places other than studio 2 or a clean photography studio.

this area of the body mould is this section that to me really looks like braiding.

these creeping vines / lighting bolt feeling structures are beautiful . the stark colour scheme , the emptiness of the room, the scarcity and then close knit layering the closer u get to the hole, all of it is so visually interesting.

Metamorphisis/ Shape

there's a big theme of fractals and cell division in this movie and the visuals really capture this alien, growing spread of the entity ( whatever it is that's creating the strange landscape their in). the abstract shapes , the constant movement really makes me think of those backgrounds that used to show on my dads old computer when we listened to music. (ive now searched extensively for that online and can't find it for a visual )

Overall

Ive been really inspired by the forms and colour in this movie. aside from just the visuals its made me think about creating a safe , touchable , soft structure and pairing it with a harsher surounding
