Comparing Ford Canopies with Competitors
Choosing the right canopy for your vehicle can be challenging, given the variety of options available on the market. Ford truck canopies are known for their durability and versatility, but how do they stack up against competitors like Toyota and Nissan?
This article explores the key aspects of Ford canopies and compares them with their main rivals to help you make an informed decision.
Ford Canopies vs. Toyota Canopies
Ford canopies offer robust construction, ideal for both off-road adventures and daily use. In comparison, Toyota canopies are also well-regarded for their durability but may fall short in terms of customisation options. Custom Ford canopies allow users to tailor their canopies to specific needs, making them a versatile choice. Ford’s focus on providing comprehensive Ford storage solutions gives them an edge in functionality and convenience.
Toyota canopies, while durable, often lack the variety of customisable features that Ford offers. This is a crucial factor for those who require specific configurations for their outdoor or work activities. Additionally, Ford canopies often come equipped with advanced security features, such as reinforced locks and tamper-proof designs, which are not always standard in Toyota models.
Ford Canopies vs. Nissan Canopies
Nissan canopies, much like Ford canopies, are built for rugged use and reliability. However, heavy-duty Ford canopies often outperform Nissan in terms of strength and load capacity. Durable Ford canopies are designed to withstand extreme conditions, making them a preferred choice for those who need a reliable solution for challenging environments. Additionally, the secure Ford canopy options come with advanced locking mechanisms, providing an added layer of security over many Nissan models.
Ford’s commitment to innovation is evident in its canopy designs, which often incorporate the latest materials and technologies. This includes weather-resistant finishes and corrosion-proof coatings, which are essential for maintaining the integrity of the canopy in harsh conditions. Nissan canopies are reliable but may not offer the same level of protection and durability as Ford’s offerings.
Material and Design Comparisons
When comparing materials, Ford truck canopies typically use high-quality aluminium and fibreglass, ensuring longevity and resistance to corrosion. The design of Ford canopies is often sleek and integrates well with the vehicle’s aesthetics, providing not just functionality but also an enhanced look. Toyota and Nissan also use quality materials, but Ford's emphasis on seamless integration and aesthetic appeal often sets it apart.
Ford’s use of high-grade materials ensures that their canopies can withstand heavy use without showing significant wear and tear. The aesthetic integration means that the canopies do not look like an afterthought but rather a natural extension of the vehicle, enhancing both its appearance and value.
Price and Value Comparisons
Regarding pricing, Ford canopies offer competitive rates that reflect their high quality and durability. While they may be priced higher than some competitors, their long-term value and reduced need for replacements make them cost-effective. Ford's comprehensive canopy installation for Ford vehicles also ensures buyers get a perfect fit, enhancing the overall value.
The initial investment in a Ford canopy may be higher, but the return on investment comes in the form of longevity, reduced maintenance costs, and a higher resale value. Toyota and Nissan canopies might offer lower upfront costs, but they may not provide the same long-term benefits as a Ford canopy.
Customer Satisfaction and Reviews
Customer reviews often highlight the robustness and reliability of Ford canopies. Users appreciate the off-road Ford canopy options for their performance in tough terrain. In comparison, while Toyota and Nissan canopies receive positive feedback, Ford’s focus on customer satisfaction and after-sales service often garners higher ratings.
Many Ford canopy users report high levels of satisfaction with the durability and functionality of their canopies, particularly those who use them for off-roading and heavy-duty tasks. The strong customer support and warranty services provided by Ford also contribute to their positive reviews.
Durability and Longevity Comparisons
Durable Ford canopies are built to last, often outliving the vehicle itself. This is particularly true for those designed for heavy-duty use. The longevity of Ford canopies ensures that they remain a valuable investment for years. Nissan canopies, though reliable, may not offer the same extended lifespan under similar conditions.
The robust construction of Ford canopies, using top-quality materials and advanced manufacturing techniques, ensures that they can handle significant wear and tear. This makes them a preferred choice for users who need a reliable and long-lasting canopy solution.
Customization and Accessory Options
Ford offers a wide range of custom Ford canopies, allowing buyers to select features that best suit their needs, from additional storage compartments to specialised racks and mounts. The flexibility in customisation makes Ford a preferred choice for those seeking bespoke solutions. Toyota and Nissan also offer customisation options, but Ford’s extensive range often provides more tailored solutions.
The ability to customise a Ford canopy to fit specific requirements, whether for work, travel, or recreation, adds significant value. This level of personalisation is less common with other brands, making Ford a leader in this aspect.
Market Trends and Innovations in the Canopy Industry
The canopy industry is evolving, with new materials and designs being introduced regularly. Ford remains at the forefront with innovations in weatherproof Ford canopies and advanced locking systems. Market trends show a growing preference for canopies that offer both functionality and aesthetic appeal, areas where Ford continues to excel.
Ford’s commitment to innovation means that their canopies are always at the cutting edge of design and technology. This includes the use of smart materials that provide enhanced weather resistance and structural integrity, as well as incorporating modern design elements that make the canopies more attractive and functional.
Conclusion
Choosing the right canopy involves considering various factors, including durability, design, and cost. Ford canopies stand out for their robust construction, extensive customisation options, and superior customer satisfaction. Whether you are looking for a heavy-duty Ford canopy or a sleek design for everyday use, Ford offers a range of solutions that cater to diverse needs, making them a top choice in the market.
Investing in a Ford canopy ensures that you get a product that not only meets but often exceeds your expectations. With their focus on quality, durability, and customer satisfaction, Ford canopies represent a reliable and versatile choice for any truck owner.

Ford Explorer SUV Concept, 1973. A forward-control pick-up concept that was shown at the Chicago Auto Show in 1973 (studio shots are dated 1971 with the vehicle's license plates indicating it was a proposal for the 1974 MY). The design copied the Dodge Deora custom truck from 1967. Ford had made forward-control pick-ups in the 1960s so it's not out of the question that the Explorer was considered for series production. The concept featured a canopy that could be deployed from the rear deck. It was powered by a mid-mounted 429ci V8 but went no further than a single prototype

1955 Lincoln Futura
Did you know this?
Before the Batmobile: Benson Ford Drives the 1955 Lincoln Futura
Benson Ford Sr. is the least well known of Henry Ford’s three grandsons. His older brother Henry II (1917-1987) was Ford Motor Company’s emperor, serving as president or chairman from 1945 to 1980, while his younger brother William Clay Ford, Sr. (1925-2014) was the chairman of Ford’s design committee and the father of current Ford executive chairman Bill Ford, Jr. Middle brother Benson (1919-1978) served a number of lesser roles in the company and passed away, sadly, at only 59. At the time of this filming he was a Ford vice-president and general manager of the Lincoln-Mercury division.
In these photos from 1955, Benson pulls rank for some sweet PR duty: He takes the fabulous Lincoln Futura for a spin through Manhattan, around Central Park and past the front door of the United Nation headquarters on First Avenue. True to its name, as the Futura cruises alongside all the conventional 1950s cars and trucks on the streets of New York, it looks like something shot straight out of a time machine.
The dream car, designed by John Najjar and Bill Schmidt of Ford Styling, built on a prototype Continental Mark II chassis, and constructed by Ghia of Turin at a cost of $250,000, was a genuine show-stopper in its day. In an interesting historical twist, Ford said the car’s lines were inspired by two marine creatures, the manta ray and the mako shark. GM would later claim the same influences for two memorable Corvette concepts, with remarkably different results.
Of course, we all know the fate of the Futura: After appearing in the 1959 MGM movie It Started With a Kiss with Debbie Reynolds and Glenn Ford, the show car was discarded by Ford, eventually ending up on the back lot of California customizer George Barris. In 1966, Barris transformed the Futura into the far-out TV Batmobile, eliminating the bubble canopy and adding a kitschy bat-themed paint job and other gimmicks. The Hollywood version certainly has its fans: Countless tributes and copies have been built, and Batmobile no. 1 sold at auction in 2013 for $4.62 million. But Lincoln purists prefer to remember the car in its original Futura state.
The Original 1966 Batmobile Was Bought For $1 From Ford.

HI CHAT I GOT MY FIRST CAR
she’s a ford f150 from 1991, she (supposedly) has working ac, stereo, and a cd player, she had the perfect engine, and all her problems seem pretty easy to fix (also, she comes with a super expensive winch on the front, so we’re gonna sell that to one of my dad’s friends)
she has a huge truck bed + a nice canopy, so she’s perfect for towing, carrying big things, and camping (ignore the tires they’re trash)
:D
ALSO LOOK AT THE LOCKS
my dad got her for super cheap too, like even if her ac doesn’t actually work it’ll still have been worth it with the price
#charlie.txt#sister imperator is the winning name w everyone else who I asked but I just wanted to share about this tbh

3 and eight for sidney and.. can i toss in 10 for bowie.. i know you were asking for sid but . bowie ...
3. What was their most expensive purchase/where does their disposable income go?
the blood money merc spends his cash on munitions and materials for his blood money work. i imagine he's actually kinda frugal with money otherwise--he doesn’t desire any of the typical luxuries that might come to mind when you think of exorbitant spending. definitely steals a lot more than he spends, mainly just for the fun of it, so he’s always got an overabundance of cash lying around. spends what he needs on materials and chemicals for explosives, usually bought from other mercs he comes across, then whatever is left becomes inert and piles up after every new job he pulls.
besides that recently i've been toying with the idea of him ending up buying razlo and the family a house with all the money he's accumulated over the years when he finally comes back, because he doesn't know how to appropriately apologise to razlo for everything that happened between them. which i think is pretty funny. like. Hey man i don't know how to say sorry for spending years and years tormenting you and antagonising you and whittling away at the image you had of yourself and leading you to question the validity of your own recovery and identity as something worthy of love so i decided to use up basically all the money i accrued while i was out by myself ruining my own life and trying to burn the rest of the world down to buy you a house big enough to comfortably fit your entire family in. hope you don't mind that you have my surname on the property deed. i won't actually tell you i did this either i'll just leave an envelope containing the key and the property deed on your doorstep. i know this likely won't change anything but at least it'll make things a bit easier for you and your kids. ummm Bye
8. Describe the place where they sleep.
when he's out by himself i've been imagining that he gets around in a big bulky pick up truck, something that looks like an old 1970s ford f-series y'know. he'd shove a sleeping bag in the back of that and be content to sleep there under the moon. maybe move into the cab if the wind picks up. i do not think he'd bother at all with staying in inns or motels or any of the sort while he's on the move.
when he comes back and settles i've been imagining that he finds an old shack somewhere on the outskirts of town and claims it as his own. he finds himself a lumpy, dirty old twin mattress in the rubble of a house (that probably wasn’t so dirty when he found it) and just dumps it on the floor of his shack with the addition of a sheet or two, likely tattered and stained with all kinds of things, and he'd have a kind of canopy strung up over it anchored with rope to act as a shield from creeping daylight. but not a single bed frame in sight. possibly also has a dusty box fan near his head that’s on every time he lays down cus he can’t sleep otherwise, he needs the noise. most of the time the surrounding floor space is littered with old clothes and scraps of trash and chemical materials he hasn’t bothered to clean up yet and likely never will, kinda just kicked outta the way if they become too much of a problem. he'd probably tidy up if he knows razlo and the kids are visiting though.
but i think when he was back at the eye he ended up with his own dorm room, when trainees usually are divided into groups and assigned their own bunks. could have been on behalf of razlo this occurred, or sidney simply could have kicked all of his room mates out and took the space all for his own. the latter's probably more likely considering only the eye's most prized get assigned their own living quarters, and sidney definitely isn't a qualifier for that. either way sidney's requisitioned it into a workspace with a makeshift tool bench for all his various explosives.
and for bowie:
10. What objects do they always carry around with them?
when bowie was first with the family she spent a lot of time with minnie and jasmine doing arts and crafts, as well as other things like baking and helping vash cook meals. it was a good way to help her further develop her fine motor skills, of which were stunted because of knives brute forcing her growth, so many milestones of what would have been her natural development--even for a plant--were simply skipped over. one of those activities was also jewellery making! she would make bracelets and necklaces with minnie and jasmine and the three of them would give each other ideas and trade between themselves. bowie kept a lot of the jewellery she made, and wears her favourite ones. this is sort of a more recent development within the AU so i don't have any art of her wearing her jewellery but i think that's what she'd carry with her all the time.
thank you!

Super Pacific Announces X1 Camper Compatible with Rivian R1T Electric Pickup Truck
Oregon-based Super Pacific becomes one of the first aftermarket gear makers to offer a camper shell and rooftop tent compatible with the all-electric Rivian R1T pickup truck.
Overlanding in electric vehicles is gaining traction, and Super Pacific, a camper shell and rooftop tent manufacturer based in Oregon, is leading the charge by announcing a product designed specifically for the Rivian R1T electric pickup truck. The company has expressed its admiration for Rivian's innovation and ambition, prompting them to take on the design challenge of an X1 Camper for the R1T. Super Pacific is now seeking ten Rivian owners to place deposits on the system before commencing production.
While technical details are still being finalized, the camper is expected to closely resemble the X1 setup currently available for mid and full-size trucks, with modifications to accommodate the unique features of the Rivian R1T.
youtube
Super Pacific's Construction Methods and Features of the X1 Camper
Super Pacific's construction methods draw inspiration from aircraft manufacturing, resulting in lightweight yet structurally rigid designs. The X1 Camper features a wedge-style hardshell rooftop tent that extends over the truck's cab from the hard-mounted bed canopy. It can comfortably accommodate two adults on an inflatable Exped mattress.
For cold-weather camping, Super Pacific offers a quick-install "ThermaPuff" insulation kit for the tent section. The X1 also includes side and rear access panels that can be locked from both the inside and outside for added security. Molle panels allow for the attachment of various gear or interior options.
The tent floor and cargo panels can be repositioned to create weather-protected standing height headroom when the tent is not in use. Additionally, Super Pacific offers a range of awnings, bike racks, and other accessories to outfit the X1 Camper. The retail price for the X1 is $14,495.
Model-Specific Modifications and Pricing
The Rivian version of the X1 Camper will feature model-specific modifications to accommodate the layout of the Rivian R1T's truck bed and electric powertrain. While no specific details regarding the modifications were mentioned in the press release, Super Pacific did state that the Rivian-compatible camper will be more expensive than the standard models. However, the first ten customers will have the opportunity to purchase the Rivian-compatible camper at the regular price.
Pricing for subsequent units has not been announced.
The Rise of Electric Overlanding
Electric pickup trucks, including the Rivian R1T, Ford, Chevrolet, and Tesla Cybertruck, are fueling the growth of electric overlanding. Overlanding in electric trucks offers several advantages, such as the built-in power supply that can run lights, appliances, and charge various battery-powered devices. The Rivian R1T boasts a range of 210 to over 400 miles, depending on the configuration, making it suitable for extended off-grid adventures.
Super Pacific's announcement of the X1 Camper compatible with the Rivian R1T electric pickup truck highlights the growing trend of electric overlanding. With its innovative design, lightweight construction, and array of features, the X1 Camper offers Rivian owners the opportunity to embark on off-road adventures with comfort and convenience. As electric pickup trucks continue to gain popularity, the demand for specialized aftermarket gear, such as the X1 Camper, is expected to rise, catering to the unique needs of electric overlanding enthusiasts.

Hera helps get this together. And she says it's one of the quieter campers and he says what do you mean besides heinous stuff and she says when you're in it you don't hear much outside with the window closed cuz you don't want to and it's true it has some nice insulation it's for cold weather or hot weather one reason why people like it it's a real camper for camping and it's very sturdy and it's not very big and has a full bath and it has a kitchenette that you can't see cuz they don't show you which is really cheesy they should show you it's behind the bench below the tv a lot of people don't bother with the TV it's not true everybody does and because you go nuts if you don't and the storage below I need a refrigerator and a stove with a four burners believe it or not and it has a separate doorway to the bathroom and our son and daughter are smiling and saying that it's the way it should be although you should put a canopy in so you can go there in the morning but really it stinks so bad no matter what you do it is a wonderful camper because of that it's wonderful the toilet will stink no matter what kind of toilet it is it has a trap and everything and it just still stinks that that chemical and you put the wall in and you don't smell it all night and all day it's wonderful The Price is Right it's the cheapest camper on the market it's cheaper than what our son stayed in out there in California and they were tortured him out there too and she's pricks the trumpsters and they're going to lose but a bunch of ugly hose bags and they screwed around with James corporation and they're paying for it and all of them will eventually pay and they don't get it but that's what they're doing it's a great camper it is number one on earth in moments people will take this thing everywhere camping fishing hiking exploring on missions it just has everything you need in one place and you don't have to fart around and try and figure out how to do things and you put the generator on the back and there's a storage area and as you can tell it it's 1900 lb and our son's Kia Sportage could tow it and that's like a midsize SUV it's smaller than a Ford explorer as larger than the smallest SUV but it's still an SUV the bigger ones are not called that anymore and you pretty much need that one the other ones you can use a pop-up and those are about 1400 lb that's what you want to get tons of people will get this it is a huge seller it's massively famous already and Hera did help design it and she didn't listen to her husband and said no matter what you do that toilet is going to stink and she can't stand it and has plans for him and to be there and he says how's that going to work and she says we're going to be camping together he wants to be and then she says maybe a different place at the same time so he has to chase her and he says and yeah that's great but he says he probably get one of these and you tell it was a truck or a regular SUV and she says not the explorer and that's what he said and so they're having an argument. But really it's going to be nice a lot of people can afford this and you can buy it on payments with their payment plan and you don't have to leave a bank account you can get it by mail and you can also pay credit card or other really the payments without like $120 a month and it's only for I think 2 years or something no it's more than that but still 4 years something like that but it's not a bad idea and these things are being popped out like crazy and the tires are such that can go off for a little bit
Thor Freya
It's a huge seller and Trump is a big dick and he's a loser and this is going to be really bad it's getting much worse and sitting here on his money and he doesn't care for it and who would they're selling a ton of these to our people they were leaving and we are leaving and we are going to probably just leave him here so much for addictions. It's going to be a hell of a day there's a ton of people who want to buy campers right now he said there's no law against opening early and some shops and stores open at 7:00 and I'm pretty sure that you can so probably open it up from now on at 7:00 a.m. and I mean thousands I got to sell these I'm going to dammit
Dave
We went down there and the lot is full of people tons of people are buying these at his place trucks are coming in with them and some mad house and we have to buy some we get along with him a little but we don't get along with Trump at all and no one does now. Yeah okay so we're working on these things we can hear this a****** next door conspiring against our friend and saying dumb things all the time and we need him out of there. It was going to try to get them out but for real this is a great camper and a friend here likes this kind of thing cuz he doesn't like to have these huge thing that's all around you can put this in a friend's yard or a relative's yard it's unobtrusive he can kind of hide it it's just not really big and you can fit it into a campgrounds you can fit smaller ones but you can't fit bigger ones if they have a lot that's small even a tent lot you can put this on it and they did quite a lot with this kind of camper that you waited on a tent and you can hook up they have hook up some tent sites it's really handy. We have to move and if you need to find a place and don't have one this is the way to do it
Bg
A lot of us don't have a place we have to get there and yeah this trumpster wants my job and so inhabit the body and they're doing it to me to blame me I've had enough of this s*** so damn dumb
Becka
Does that mean you have to get three campers
Zues Hera
No
Becka probably have to buy them though they said I said yeah this is a great and I really SUV to pull it a regular size one and there's tons of them and people are going to buy these like madness
Olympus we're going to print it's valuable and important
Right now Hera

Truck 🛻 bath 🛀
My review so far of the FORD RANGER WILDTRAK, as someone upgrading from a small white 2L panel van:
Fast
Enormous
Wallows like nothing else, holy shit, it tilts through corners and not in a pretty way
Will tow anything, does not care
Bed space is puny, but we only had one side-access door on the old van so the hatched canopy we put on this is incredibly convenient
Whoever keeps lifting truck beds higher and higher should be executed, my ramp angle is insane and I may need new ramps, which was not true for my 2003 2WD Mazda-derived Ranger
Seats are way too big, to the point where I should buy one of those self-pour custom insert kits, aka a booster seat, because my calves hurt and my back hurts and I keep sliding tf around because the seatbelt cannot pull tight enough
But the cab interior is a massive step up otherwise
And the radio works

Whumpas in July Day 3: Sleep
I know, I know. I missed days one and two. So to introduce myself: "Hi I am Gypsy and I am really interested in villain whumpees! Right now, I am righting a series called "Drowning" that depends if people want it continued will continue. I have a werewolf book that I am writing (guess, villain whumpees again). I love to workout, ride horses, and write. I have my cats, horse, cows, and poultry who are the loves of my life. I don't like pigs or dogs, but I have them."
And how I found whump? "I was into whump (didn't know what it was called) in third grade. I was loved Warrior Cats, especially the battle/care scenes. With Pete's Dragon in elementary school, I told my friends that my favorite part was when the parents died. *no comment*. Everyone probably thought I was a sadistic murderer in the making. Anyway, I found whump on pinterest, looked it up on google and then convinced Mother to let me get tumblr. And so here I am!"
Anyway. Here is the snippet. Inspired by this by @laurenhufflepuff2. @whumpmasinjuly do I tag this? Sorry if I don't.
Warnings: battle scene, death, self-drugging, field medicine mention
~
A fire burned deep in Villain's veins, threatening to come to the surface like a scuba diver ready to emerge. It boiled within, lapping at his self-control and nerves until he was jittery. He twitched his fingers, brow furrowing, but nothing soothed the flames. Nothing kept them down.
Nothing kept them in control.
Villain jumped into a crouching position and started to rock back and forth. He eyed his desolate surroundings. Classic war rubble with bleeding heroes and villains alike. Gosh, he should be out there counting the casualties and caring for the wounded...
It was a fight with Supervillain. Villain united his troops with Hero's just for the occasion- not that it was a permanent treaty. No, Villain was too thin on his promises for that and Hero would never allow herself to sign a contract agreeing to a villain. Nope, it would never happen.
They weren't even friends. Acquaintances at best, but even that was a bit far fetched. That's right, the correct terminology was enemy, or nemesis, or foe. They were opposites: one with golden morals and the other with none. Every thing about them was different, even their hair. But they both had one similarity and that was a woman of the arrogant name Supervillain.
Which is why they allied for one night- to stop her advances on the city and to protect Villain's special orb that gave him his superpowers, the flaming fire that was currently waiting to explode.
Villain groaned, clutching at his temple as dizziness and nausea coursed through him. He dug his heels into the ground, crying out very slightly. He was sure that someone was watching him; he could feel their peering eyes glaring into his back, but he drew his mind away from that. His body felt like one big fireball and he was sweating profoundly.
It was escaping. His powers were escaping and ready to unleash its fury. He gasped for breath and pleaded with himself to soothe the powerful surge, but nothing alleviated it.
A figure was creeping along his line a vision, obscuring his left side and leaving his right open to view the destruction and death. He groaned, collapsing forward and pressing his nose into the ground.
"Villain?" A voice, definitely, and spoken to him, but Villain couldn't bring himself to exactly register the meaning or speaker of the word. He held out a quivering hand as if asking for someone to wait- or in this villain's case, to be quiet.
"Is he hurt?"
"Are you alright?"
"Oh gosh, I think he's gonna pass out."
The voices floated around Villain's world languidly, none having any known meaning or intent of purpose. They were just there.
Suddenly, as if his last straw of instinctual push persuaded him to deal with the dilemma, Villain jumped up. He ignored the lightheaded feeling and ran to the medical tent.
Trucks held down the extra long canopy, giving the doctors plenty of shade as they stabilized the wounded. Villain could hear the rumble of nearby helicopters, whether or not they meant anything to his swimming head, and the strident shrill of ambulances.
He rushed to one of the silver fords and opened the tailgate. Rummaging blindly through endless different bottles and applies, he found what his primitive logic was searching for.
His found treasure was a heavy, heavy sedative. He also grabbed a syringe, inserted a needle and prepared the drug.
He acted without any conscious will. He got like that when his powers threatened to overpower him. But luckily, his subconscious was still intact.
He filled the syringe up. It might've been an overdose, but that was besides the point. He needed to sleep, to be unconscious, so that he could dampen his powers.
He again could hear those floating words, fixating on Villain's ears. This time around, however, as miniscule as it was, they held meaning.
"He's gonna drug himself."
"Someone stop him!"
Villain could hear the trampede of footsteps, but the deed was already done. The needle was in his thigh and the fire was extinguishing. The world slowed down as Villain collapsed face first on the ground. Blackness crept towards him in obnoxious slow motion. He breathed deeply allowing sleep to encase him in its safe blanket.
Hero ran towards Villain and quickly searched for a pulse. It was too faint, way too weak and slow for her liking. Gosh, did he take such a heavy dose...
"Why did he do that?" Someone asked, astounded.
"I-i think, now don't quote me on this," Hero replied. "I think he almost lost control of his powers. When he wakes up, well ask." Hero didn't want to think of the "when" as being a lie, but she also didn’t want to think that Villain would never wake. That was a possibility right?
What if he never woke up from this induced sleep?

Hey guys👋🏾! So I saw in the video from the recent USO live chat that Chris said if he wasn’t acting, he’d be doing something where he has to work with his hands a lot and thus here we are lol! Hope you like it😊!
Pairing: Builder!Chris EvansxBlack Reader
⚠️: Slight angst, fluff
“Ohh this one is pretty! What do you think Ivy?,” you ask lying the lilac onesie against your swollen abdomen. With only a month left until your due date, you finally decided to try to organize your closet to accommodate her growing collection of clothes.
Although tiny, the amount of outfits and other supplies bought by you, your fiancé, and both sets of your family and friends warranted her own room really, but being stuck with your quaint one bedroom apartment the small plastic dresser in your closet would have to do.
“I’ll tell you this baby girl, you are definitely spoiled already.”
“And your grandparents wouldn’t have it any other way,” you hear from behind paired with the light thud of work boots hitting the floor. “Can’t blame them entirely though, me and your mom might have had something to do with that too.”
“You’re home early.”
“Yea the floors didn’t take as long as we thought they would.”
Kissing your cheek, he notices the box of diapers you were currently trying to move with your foot but not getting far. Bending down reaching for the cutout handle, he moves your hands beating you to the box before placing it with the others. “Here babe let me get that. Remember the doctor said-,”
“I know what he said Chris. I’m the one who told you what he said since you weren’t there remember?”
You didn’t mean for it to come out as bitter as it did, but you also couldn’t hide your frustration anymore. He was always a perfectionist when it came to his work. From the paint to the furniture placement, and even the plants outside, he never wanted a client to walk in seeing anything out of place or thinking he didn’t care about what he did.
You understood and loved how much he cared, but with your heightened emotions and the fact that this was a pretty important time in both of your lives, him not being there broke your heart a little more each time it happened.
“Y/N, I know I haven’t been around like I want to and I’m sorry, but it’s just I really want this house to be perfect.”
“I know you do, but I’d also like for you to actually see her moving on the screen rather than me tell you what happened. Or hear her heartbeat in person.”
Grabbing your sides, he gently pulls you closer bringing his calloused yet soft hands up to cradle your face and graze his thumbs against your cheek while peering into your eyes.
“I promise you things will be different as soon as everything’s done. Then I’ll be at every appointment and by your side so much you’ll be sick of me,” he smiles.
“You really shouldn’t make promises you can’t keep.” Sliding out of his grip, you make your way to the kitchen, hands rubbing the base of your belly as he follows close behind.
“It’s not my fault this all had to happen while you’re pregnant.”
“I know.”
“Really? Could’ve fooled me,” he sighs, back leaning against the counter watching you remove different items from the fridge trying to put something together for dinner.
There’s silence as you chop bell peppers to sauté in the pan slowly heating up on the stove. You could feel his eyes still on you though as you moved about getting different seasonings and other tools to help make your meal, but you refused to say a word.
“Guess I’ll go shower then,” he states under his breath ready to leave so you could have the space you clearly needed.
“What’s so different about this house?”
“What do you mean?”
“Every other build you’ve done you’re telling me any and every detail about it and even a little about who it’s for,” you explain still focused on the sizzling pan in front of you. “This one, you haven’t said one thing about it other than you finished the floors today. Then you’re rushing out the room to take secret calls and working later than usual, which makes me believe this house must be something special.”
“I haven’t really had the time to tell you since I’ve been so busy.”
“...sure you’re not just trying to bury yourself in your work?” Hearing your sniffles, he walks up behind you turning you around to see your glossy eyes as tears begin to fall. “I mean I know I’m a bit more emotional and probably more annoying-,”
“Shh, stop,” he softly speaks wiping away your tears and hugging you close to his body. “You’re not annoying and I’m definitely not burying myself in my work. If I could, I’d spend every second with you doing anything you want.”
“You say that now, but I’m sure you’d think different after.”
“Nope. Never.”
Bringing your hand up to his lips, he kisses the diamond on your finger before moving to your lips making them move together as if they were part of a passionate dance.
“You’re gonna make me burn dinner. Again,” you smile resting your forehead against his.
“Sorry,” he chuckles leaving one last peck on your lips. Letting you turn back around, his chin sits on your shoulder and hand lightly rubs up and down your belly as he helps with the remainder of the meal.
———
The following week, Chris finally finished the house and couldn’t wait to give you a tour through the bare home. He was practically glowing with excitement each day leading up to the weekend, when you both agreed he could show you.
Driving through busy streets and backroads shaded by canopy trees, you eventually arrive in the driveway of a grey house trimmed in white with pillars of the same color. On the wrap around porch sat two dark brown rocking chairs seemingly waiting for someone to rest in them, while bunches of orange and yellow chrysanthemums were planted in the flower beds just below it. Carefully stepping out of the black Ford truck, with his help, a small smile forms on your lips as you look from the building to your future husband.
“What?,” he shyly asks nervously fidgeting with his hands.
“Nothing, just amazed again by what you do. And also wondering what made you chose to plant my favorite flower?”
“Guess you were stuck on my mind,” he winks kissing your lips before grabbing your hand and leading you up the steps to the door.
Your footsteps against the dark hardwood and Chris’ voice echo throughout the empty house as he takes you to every room, noting how the furniture would be placed once it arrived and asking your opinion on how it would look. Walking down the hall, he points out the master and guest bedrooms pausing in front of the last door with his hand on the knob.
“I’ll tell you now, I did this room all by myself so go easy on me okay?,” he states making you giggle.
“Don’t worry, I’m sure it’s just as beautiful as the rest of the house.” Slowly opening the door, you notice it to be the only furnished room in the house with a grey crib, dresser, changing station, and cloth rocking chair all matching in color.
“Aww babe! Why didn’t you tell me they were expecting a baby too?”
Black butterfly stencils staggered along the pink wall above the crib, seeing the teddy bears placed on top of the changing table instantly draw your hands to your stomach as you become even more excited for your own bundle to come into the world.
“I uh also got them an extra little present from us,” he states opening the top drawer to reveal a folded baby blanket covered in clouds. “Think it’s okay?”
“Yea it’s-,” you start as you notice the shine of golden letters embroidered in the corner. Stepping closer to him, Chris can feel his heart pounding in his ears as he watches you read what’s been sewn on the blanket and look at him confused.
“Why does it have Ivy’s on it?”
“Because it’s hers, along with everything else in here.”
Words seemed to be something foreign to your brain as you continued to stare at the man in front of you wondering if he was being serious.
“Wha-? How-?”
“Grandma Peggy left this land to me in her will and I always planned to build a house on it but never got around to it. When little Ivy came in the picture though, I thought now was the perfect time.”
As you scan the room holding onto the blanket, he starts to feel a bit scared from your silence.
“W-We can always change stuff around though if you don’t like it,” he stammers rubbing the back of his neck. “Like maybe the crib can-,”
Unable to complete his words, he feels your arms wrap around his neck as your lips press against his moving in perfect sync.
“It’s perfect!”
“Really? You think so? It’s okay if you want to change anything I swear.”
“No I promise I love it how it is,” you giggle kissing him again. “I love everything, thank you.”
“You don’t have to thank me love. I’m gonna do anything I can for the both of you to make sure you’re taken care of, and nothing will stop that.”
“I know, which makes me feel worse about thinking you were purposely trying to stay away,” you sniffle looking down at the blanket in your hands.
“Well, it didn’t help that I wasn’t being as open as usual.”
“But still I shouldn’t have even let my mind go in that direction and I’m sorry.” Wiping your tears away, he lies your head on his chest rubbing soothing circles on your back.
“That’s in the past okay? Now we focus on what comes our way next,” he smiles to which you nod your head wrapping your arms around his waist and enjoying breathing in his scent as you both stand in the peaceful quiet.
“So you really love everything? Be honest.”
“So much that if I wasn’t pregnant, I probably would be in the morning,” you bite your lip looking up to see his raised brow and amused expression.
“Looks like you might be getting another sibling soon Ivy,” he whispers down towards your stomach making you laugh.

Why am I so bad at getting rid of stuff??? 😭 I'm going through my room right now, and I've collected a lot of shit over the years and my goal is to get rid of half of it, but I've only filled up two trash bags and one of them is just filled with really bulky items. It causes me pain to throw out my stuff, and it's so hard for me to convince myself that I won't miss it even though I KNOW I won't. I just don't need it. And it stresses me out to have it, especially approaching the time to move out. Like, I'm too sentimental and I have strong hoarder tendencies that got worse when I was poor for a bunch of years in a row. (I mean, I'm still poor, but not as poor as I was for a long time.) I will never think about this stuff again after I throw it out, and I will be SO MUCH HAPPIER when I only have stuff I care about.
My realistic goal is to get rid of half of my stuff (measured by volume). My optimistic goal is to be able to move in 2 truckloads, excluding furniture (which I don't have much of, but I DO have a few large items, and the truck in question is a '92 Ford Ranger with a little canopy that isn't feasibly removable).
I hate going though my stuff. And I hate throwing stuff out. But I HAVE to do it. I can't do what I did last time, when I chickened out and couldn't throw my stuff away, and then I had to move all of it in 2 or 3 days, and it was hell. I'm not doing that again.
