What are the Different Types Of Couverture Chocolate?
Superior quality chocolate with a higher cocoa butter content than ordinary chocolate is called couverture chocolate. Professional chocolatiers and pastry chefs frequently utilize it because of its excellent flavor, texture, and capacity to set correctly when tempered. The proportion of cocoa solids and cocoa butter, as well as the place of origin of the cocoa beans, differentiate the many varieties of couverture chocolate. Typical varieties include some of the following:
Dark Couverture Chocolate: This variety usually has between 60% and 80% cocoa solids and a high percentage of cocoa butter. Rich, flavorful dark couverture chocolate is frequently used to make truffles, ganache, and chocolate decorations.
Milk Couverture Chocolate: This type of chocolate includes sugar, milk solids, cocoa butter, and occasionally vanilla. Compared to dark chocolate, it tastes milder and has a creamier texture. Desserts like chocolate bars and bonbons frequently contain milk couverture chocolate.
White Couverture Chocolate: Made with cocoa butter, sugar, milk solids, and vanilla, white couverture chocolate is free of cocoa solids. It tastes sweet and has a creamy, buttery flavor. When a creamy, vanilla flavor is required in candies, decorations, and ganache, white couverture chocolate is frequently utilized.
Organic and Single-Origin Couverture Chocolate: Cocoa beans from certified organic farms are used to make some couverture chocolates. Because single-origin couverture chocolate is produced using cocoa beans that are imported from a single nation or region, its distinct flavor characteristics can be attributed to the terroir of the cocoa beans.
These are a few of the popular varieties of couverture chocolate online UAE that are available; they all have unique tastes and qualities that can be used in a variety of culinary contexts.

Can we get a Fluffy Friday follow up to this one? A wedding and honeymoon perhaps? 🥹
I've been meaning to write something about marriage and Noah. Thank you, anon :) Decided to not write the bride walking down the aisle with her dad so this can be as inclusive as possible.
Request something for fluffy friday!!!
Tumblr media
So I feel like Noah would be non-traditional when it comes to your guys' marriage.
I imagine a small venue only with the most important people in your lives.
I imagine he is wearing a black three piece suit to match your black dress.
And as you stood there, just waiting to walk down the aisle, you thought that all the times you wanted to pull your hair out while planning this wedding was totally worth it.
Noah never left you alone during the planning phase and you both decided everything together.
The color of the flowers, the kind of cloth you wanted on the tables, the chairs, the food, the invites. EVERYTHING!
He never wanted to be one of those guys that forgot to take time off work because he couldn't remember the day of your wedding.
He also held you close when you felt overwhelmed. Or when the flowers you wanted weren't in season, or when a supplier canceled on you last minute.
He wasn't sure himself if everything was going to work out, but he couldn't let his nerves show, knowing that you depended on his strength to keep yourself hopeful.
You hear a knock on the door that pulled you back to the present moment. Opening it, you saw Noah for the first time since you were kidnapped in the morning for hair and makeup.
You both decided to walk down the isle together, choosing to have the wedding march played on a piano.
You both had your vows handwritten, and they were unique in their own ways.
After the ceremony you headed to the party that definetly had a karaoke.
You couldn't get enough of each other, not yet believing that you were finally husband and wife for eternity.

"sakura, good morning!" shizune waves her over and gives her coffee.
"busy day huh." most days, she's thankful the hospital staff already knows her preferred brew—dark, hot, bitter.
"you wouldn't believe what just happened though." shizune sips her iced latte. "sasuke asked for your schedule."
sakura takes a beat to reply, savoring instead the aromatic notes that slowly wake her 18-hour-shift-riddled senses. "oh yeah. we agreed to discuss new chore arrangements."
"you're living together."
"he's sleeping over."
"living. together."
"should i blush?" sakura winces. "besides, it has only been a few months. well, a year."
shizune slaps her back and leaves in a giddy. "you're already blushing, lover girl."
===
"hey thanks for dropping these off." naruto grins at her through towering stacks of folders.
"we really should organize a courier system or tap into those digital things gaara has been using in suna."
"totally agree with you." he hands her a chocolate bar. for a few minutes, they pass the sugar supply back and forth, grateful for the silence and the little indulgent treat from olden days.
"by the way, sasuke has been asking some weird things."
"such as?"
"like your favorite color, favorite food, favorite music." naruto gets the last chocolate cube. he cracks it into uneven halves and gives the smaller one to her, as usual. "so i told him mine are red and shoyu ramen."
sakura laughs and pops the piece into her mouth. "back to work, future hokage-san."
===
"where's ino?"
sai hands her an apron and an order slip. sakura releases a petulant sigh, rolls her eyes, and begins to pick the flowers listed. she waits until sai settles on the presentation and prods again.
"supplier issue." he shows her a peony and a carnation.
"the peony definitely."
sai shrugs and finishes off the bouquet. "we had a curious customer earlier."
"hmm?"
"sasuke came in. he said he didn't want reds. it would be too obvious, he said. so i suggested whites."
"mums?"
"uh-uh and roses and lilies."
sakura turns pensive at this. "he must have bought them for his family." she smiles at sai and pats him on the shoulder. "you're sometimes kind-hearted, aren't you?"
sai's fixed smile fades. "sakura, he didn't—"
a customer dings the bell and sakura, already sensing sai's intention, slips out of the boutique like a true swift kunoichi.
===
"haruno-san."
"yes, i know it's midnight and i need to go home."
the guard loiters by her door. "actually, you have a visitor. he's at the wisteria arch."
"oh? but it's so late. can't this wait until morning?"
"it's the uchiha ma'am," the guard purses his lips, "he's been camping since eight in the evening."
sakura runs. she hates running in corridors, particularly when half of the people are asleep, but she manages to reach the grounds without an ambush diagnostic or a surprise checkup.
sasuke is waiting. there is a picnic blanket in a hideous shade of bright red under him, a basket, a bouquet, a bottle of wine that must be lukewarm by now.
"shizune said you were free tonight," he said.
"what's all this for?" sakura has to catch her breath. she sits across him and takes him in. gorgeous, even under the pale moonlight.
"i never got the right answers." sasuke pulls every item out of the basket. thermos for hot water, instant ramen packs, dango, a lunchbox that smells like curry, spring rolls. "i don't know exactly what you like. i don't know if you still like the food that you liked when we were kids."
"i still have a sweet tooth," sakura chuckles as she reaches for the dango.
"but i noticed you always ask me to cook curry and you never fail to look for spring rolls."
"because you cook curry the best, sasuke-kun, that's why i love it the most."
he avoids her chiding glance and hands her instead the bunch of daffodils. "i also don't know if you still like these flowers. you would pick them up in the forest, remember? trying to make me and naruto and kakashi wear these crowns of yellow blooms."
sakura laughs at the surfacing memories. "they're very beautiful, sasuke-kun." she basks for a while in the afterglow of his awkward yet patient persistence as he scoots closer to her side and slowly brushes her fingers against his in reacquaintance.
"what's with all these though? what did i miss?" sakura entangles their hands together, his thumb caressing her knuckles.
"happy anniversary."
"..."
"..."
"fuck."
"not here sakura."
"i forgot about it! fuck!"
"it's okay, let me." sasuke plants her down with a hand on her cheek. "you're busy, and there are few things in life i look forward in celebrating."
"i'm so sorry."
"i think it's me who has to apologize. i haven't nailed down everything."
"well, we've got the rest of our lives to figure that out."
sasuke hides a smile. "that's a plan."

the taste of nectar
— but the heart of a man is a simple one. small and soft, flesh and blood.
— alhaitham x gn!reader
— author's notes: title and the quote are from epic iii from the hadestown live album
Tumblr media
While Sumeru is known for its variety of lush flora and fauna, perhaps it could be better said that Sumeru is known for the Akademiya’s cutthroat academic environment.
In the midst of the unrest after the removal of the sages, Alhaitham has had his fair share of work. Work that he certainly hadn’t signed up for when he accepted the job of Scribe all those years ago.
(I mean the entire point of him accepting that role was to live a cushy life. Who in the world would take being the Acting Grand Sage over that?)
The never-ending stack of papers on his desk somehow seemed to double the past week, though it’s surprisingly less work than when he was the Acting Grand Sage.
But as the sun sets, and the work day is over, he finds himself on a path that leads to the outskirts of Sumeru City.
His footsteps were a concrete rhythm he had grown familiar with over the years. With each step, the hubbub of the city turned into the birds’ chirping, the smell of food and spices from various shops in the marketplace became the smell of wet grass, and the sprawling greens from buildings’ rooftops turned into the greenery of nature.
In the distance, Alhaitham's keen eyes catch sight of the familiar gardens that have become a sanctuary amidst the chaos of the city. Their blooming flowers and lush vegetation beckon to him, offering solace and respite from the demands of the everyday. And there, amidst the vibrant tapestry of colors and textures, he sees you.
He settles beneath the tree where the two of you usually sit, your Dendro Vision aglow while you tend to the plants, the grass curling towards your feet and the Sumeru Roses blooming larger. As one of the city's main suppliers, you've been working yourself to the bone trying to keep up with the demand. With eremite attacks growing more rampant, the demands of the people have pushed you to the limits of your physical and mental endurance. Yet, in the face of this ceaseless task, you remain steadfast, pouring your heart and soul into the care of each precious plant, ensuring that the city's needs are consistently met. You kneel in the grass, inspecting the petals of a nearby Padisarah.
In that moment, your head turns towards him. Alhaitham's breath catches in his chest, his heartbeat quickening imperceptibly. The intensity of your gaze, now locking with his, holds a power that leaves him captivated. And then, like a sunbeam breaking through the clouds after a storm, a smile graces your lips, illuminating your face with a warmth that reaches the depths of his being.
After a few moments of delicately tending to the vibrant blossoms, you gracefully rise from your kneeling position and settle yourself next to Alhaitham beneath the ancient tree. His eyes follow your every movement as you delicately twirl a Sumeru Rose in your hand, its petals brushing against your fingertips like the softest silk. A tender smile graces his lips as you press close to his side, the warmth of your presence radiating against his arm.
Feeling his touch, you lean your head gently on his shoulder, finding solace in his embrace. Alhaitham's hand instinctively finds its place on your side, his fingers intertwining with the fabric of your clothing as if trying to draw you impossibly closer. You adjust your positions together, finding a comfortable nook amidst the lush grass, its gentle blades whispering against your garments, a soft reminder of nature's embrace.
As you settle into this shared space of tranquility, the air filled with the intoxicating scent of blooming flowers, a peaceful silence envelops you both. The world beyond seems to fade away, leaving only the two of you and the earth and the connection that binds you.
No words need to be exchanged between the two of you. It’s in this quiet haven, amidst the beauty of nature, that Alhaitham finds his peace.
Among the flowers’ nectarine embrace, he can let the world fall away.
With you, he is simply Alhaitham.
And that’s all he ever needs to be.

“Banquet of Excess”
The Grand Hill Banquet Hall was a magnificent venue, with high ceilings adorned with sparkling chandeliers that reflected the warm glow of dozens of candles flickering on beautifully set tables. Each table was draped in crisp white linens and adorned with elegant floral centerpieces that added a pop of color to the room. The air was filled with the rich aromas of gourmet cuisine as chefs and staff moved swiftly about the kitchen, their white uniforms contrasting sharply against the colorful assortment of fresh ingredients laid out on stainless steel counters. Every detail had been meticulously planned, and the excitement in the air was palpable as anticipation for the evening’s festivities grew. It was sure to be a night to remember.
But just as the final touches were being made, disaster struck. A phone call from the event organizer stopped Luke, the head chef, in his tracks. The gala had been canceled due to an outbreak of food poisoning traced back to a supplier. Although none of the ingredients used for the event had been linked to the contamination, an abundance of caution forced the cancellation. Luke's heart sank—the culmination of countless hours of meticulous preparation was now going to waste.
Debate broke out as Luke informed the other chefs and staff about the situation.
“We obviously can’t serve it,” Luke muttered, rubbing his temples. “But we can’t just throw it away, either.”
“It would look terrible for the organization hosting the event if we dumped this much food,” Greg, the sous chef, chimed in.
A moment of silence passed as they all pondered how to handle the problem. Then, a quiet voice broke the tension.
Mike, the scrawny dishwasher who had been watching the situation unfold from the back of the room, spoke up. “What if someone just eats it?” he suggested with a timid smile.
Luke looked at him as if he'd lost his mind. “Eat it? There’s enough food here to feed a thousand people.”
“Exactly,” Mike grinned as the rest of the staff began to snicker. “But hey, rules are rules. We can’t just trash it. Someone’s gotta eat it, right? So why not draw straws?”
With a little too much enthusiasm, Mike grabbed a pack of skewers from the counter and broke them into uneven lengths.
“One straw, one unlucky person,” he said, holding the straws out to the group, surreptitiously keeping a firm grip on the shortest one. “Whoever draws the shortest has to eat it all.”
There was no turning back once the idea was out. “This has to be the dumbest idea,” Luke said, shaking his head, “but I don’t see anyone else coming up with a better one.” With eyes closed, they drew the straws one by one.
As Mike had planned, he was left holding the shortest straw. A wave of both horror and excitement washed over him. “Looks like it’s my lucky night,” he said, laughing nervously as the others cheered.
At only 130 pounds, Mike had always dreamed of being bigger, and although his suggestion was meant as a joke, he figured he’d get to stuff himself silly and enjoy the feeling of a full belly for a while—at least until everyone came to their senses and found a real solution. But deep down, even though he knew it was ridiculous, a spark had been lit. He was determined to see this through to the end.
Mike signaled to Luke to start. “Well, I guess appetizers are as good a place as any to begin.” Slowly, the kitchen staff brought out the food. Trays of shrimp cocktail and smoked salmon disappeared within minutes, washed down with glasses of champagne. Mike ate with such gusto that the staff couldn’t help but cheer him on. It felt like a game—stuffing himself with plates of artisanal cheese, pâté, and crab cakes, as if he were a bottomless pit.
After two hours, his normally slender stomach was visibly swollen, pressing against his shirt. Mike could feel the intense fullness, but the food, and the satisfaction of his bulging belly, was too good to stop.
“Oof, I feel like I’ve already gained 100 pounds,” Mike groaned, sweat dripping down his forehead as he tackled a rack of ribs.
“You’ve given it a good try, and the night’s still young,” Luke said, offering him an out. “We’ve got plenty of time to come up with a real solution.”
Yet Mike kept going, driven by his deep-seated desires of gluttony. He ate plate after plate, force-feeding himself steak, roasted vegetables, and pasta dishes drenched in cream sauce. His skin stretched taut over his expanding belly, his limbs grew sluggish and heavy, but still, he pressed on.
By midnight, Mike’s transformation began in earnest.
His body, swollen from hours of indulgence, was expanding far beyond what anyone had thought possible. His gut, which had earlier been bloated and tight, now surged outward at an alarming rate. His face flushed, beads of sweat forming as his clothes stretched to their limits, seams popping apart one by one. His shirt and pants, once loose, tore under the pressure, exposing his ballooning stomach, which pushed him further back into his chair. His arms thickened, soft fat spilling over the edges as if his body couldn’t contain itself any longer.
The kitchen staff, who had earlier been cheering and joking with Mike, had now fallen into a quiet reverence. They watched him with wide eyes—not with horror, but with an almost fascinated concern. It was as if they understood on some level that Mike wasn’t just doing this for a dare; he was pushing himself toward something he had long desired.
“Mike… you’re really going all out, aren’t you?” Greg, the sous chef, asked softly, standing beside him. There was no judgment in his tone, only a kind of quiet admiration.
Mike, breathing heavily, nodded, still reaching for more food. “I’ve… always wanted this,” he admitted between labored breaths. “To be… bigger. To just… see how far I could go.”
Luke, who had been pacing nervously earlier, stopped and looked at him. His face softened, realizing this wasn’t just a ridiculous challenge. “If this is what you want, we’ve got your back,” he said, his voice steady and understanding. “But… we’ll keep an eye on you, okay?”
Mike smiled, though his face was flushed and swollen. “Thanks, Luke. I’m… not ready to stop yet.”
It was clear now to everyone that this wasn’t just a wild stunt. Mike was exploring something deeper within himself, and even though it seemed extreme, the staff began to treat his efforts with a mix of support and respect. Slowly, they continued bringing him food, carefully monitoring him as he ate plate after plate of rich, gourmet dishes. Trays of seafood, pasta, and roasted meats disappeared under his ravenous appetite, his swollen belly pressing against the table, forcing the furniture to slide back.
“You look… amazing,” one of the younger chefs, Jacob, remarked quietly. He was watching him with wide eyes, not out of fear, but with a kind of awe. “I’ve never seen anyone… enjoy food this much.”
“Mike,” Jacob said softly, stepping closer. “You’ve really gone all in, huh?”
Mike, his breathing heavy, nodded in agreement as he reached for more food.
Jacob’s gaze softened. There had always been a connection between them—shared late-night shifts, quiet conversations over the kitchen counter—but tonight, watching Mike’s raw vulnerability unfold, that connection deepened. Jacob had known Mike wanted to push himself, but now he realized this was something Mike had long craved—a release, a chance to fully embrace his desires.
Luke, noticing the unspoken bond between the two, chimed in giving a supportive smile. “Looks like it’s your lucky night in more ways than one.”
Mike smiled, though his face was red and swollen. “Thanks, Luke,” he said, casting a glance toward Jacob, who had stepped even closer, standing beside him now.
Jacob stayed by Mike’s side as the night wore on, his hand occasionally brushing against Mike’s shoulder, his voice calm and encouraging. “You’re doing great,” he whispered, watching as Mike continued to gorge himself, his belly pressing harder against the table, forcing it back inch by inch. “I’ll be here with you until the end.”
By 2 AM, Mike had become enormous. His face had puffed up, cheeks flushed red, his neck disappearing beneath layers of fat. His belly had grown so large that it rested heavily on the floor, sprawling out beneath him like a massive dome. His breathing had grown labored, but he still smiled, his eyes often drifting to Jacob, who remained at his side, offering quiet words of support.
“Mike, you’re incredible,” Jacob murmured, his admiration evident. He pulled up a chair beside him, leaning close as Mike’s body continued to expand. “I’ve never seen anyone so committed to something like this.”
Mike chuckled, though the movement caused his bloated belly to jiggle. “It’s… everything I wanted. To feel this full, this big.”
Luke, ever the practical voice of the group, stepped forward, a flicker of concern crossing his face. “You’ve really gone above and beyond, Mike. Maybe it’s time to stop?”
Mike glanced at Jacob, whose hand lingered on his arm, their eyes locking. There was a quiet understanding between them, a connection that went beyond words. Jacob smiled softly. “It’s your choice,” he said quietly, his hand squeezing Mike’s. “But whatever you decide, I’m here.”
Mike’s heart swelled, not just from the food, but from the warmth of Jacob’s presence. “I’m not done yet,” he said with quiet determination. “I can handle it.”
The staff exchanged glances, their earlier amusement now replaced with a mixture of awe, respect, and maybe just a touch of exaustion. They had all come to understand that this was more than a stunt—this was something deeply personal for Mike. And Jacob, more than anyone, understood that. He remained by Mike’s side, guiding him gently through the feast.
By 3 AM, Mike had become a sight beyond imagination. His body, swollen to an impossible size, weighed over 3,000 pounds. His massive belly dominated the room, spreading out across the floor, pushing furniture aside. His arms and legs had disappeared beneath layers of thick fat, his neck buried in rolls of flesh. Every breath was a labored wheeze, but through it all, Mike smiled, the satisfied gleam in his eyes never fading.
Jacob, sitting close to him, gently touched Mike’s hand, his voice barely above a whisper. “You’ve done it, Mike. You’re a legend.”
Mike, his voice faint beneath the layers of fat, managed a smile. “Couldn’t have done it without you,” he whispered, his words meant only for Jacob. “Thank you… for staying.”
Jacob’s smile deepened, and he leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to Mike’s swollen cheek. “Always,” he said quietly.
By morning, the banquet hall was still. The once-grand feast had been devoured, leaving only empty trays and exhausted chefs. Mike, now an immovable mass of over 3,000 pounds, dominated the room, but he was at peace. His body, an enormous monument to his gluttonous desires, would be remembered, but it was the bond he had formed with Jacob that would endure even more.
Luke, Greg, and the others stood nearby, their expressions a mix of awe and respect. They had witnessed something extraordinary—Mike’s transformation, yes, but also the deep connection that had grown between him and Jacob.
As the sun rose, Mike glanced over at Jacob, who was still at his side, his hand resting gently on Mike’s. “Well,” Mike muttered with a weak chuckle, “at least we didn’t waste the food.”
Jacob laughed softly, his hand squeezing Mike’s. “You did something incredible, Mike,” he said warmly. “Better than any of us could have imagined.”
As the first rays of sunlight filtered into the banquet hall, Mike knew that his journey had been about more than just food. It had brought him closer to Jacob, cementing a bond that would last far beyond that unforgettable night.
“You’ve done it, Mike,” Greg said shouted with tired excitement, “You’ve really done it.”
Mike, his voice muffled beneath layers of fat, smiled back, managing a weak laugh. “I told you… I could.”
Mike, turning what little he could beneath the layers of fat, managed a smile.
Mike, the now one-and-a-half-ton little dishwasher, dominated the room, but he was at peace. His body was an enormous monument to his gluttonous desires but it was the bond he had formed with Jacob that would endure even more.
Luke and the others stood around him, unsure of what to do next, but one thing was clear. They understood him now, in a way they hadn’t before. They had seen the depths of his desire and had supported him, even as he pushed himself beyond what anyone thought possible.
As the first rays of sunlight filtered into the banquet hall, Mike glanced at Jacob, who rested gently on his swollen belly. “Well,” Mike muttered with a weak chuckle, “at least we didn’t waste the food.”
Jacob laughed softly, squeezing Mike’s hand. “You did something incredible, Mike,” he said warmly. “Better than any of us could have imagined.”
And as the sun rose higher, the aftermath of an unforgettable night it was agreed: Mike had become a living legend, a man who had eaten the impossible.

TW: Zagreus (Hades Video game) x Succubus!Reader, GN!Reader, a succubus AND an artist bc sex is just work and food, au where in game Zag commissions the paintings using gems, what if boons actually affected Zagreus, slow build, strangers to friends to lovers trope, sex work, fluff, fluff and humor, mutual pining, idiots in love, mild angst, pheromones, technically it’s succubi magic aura, Zagreus is at least 6 ft convince me otherwise, eventual smut
“So… why?”
“Hm?”
“Why black and white? Why not in color?” Without looking up, Zagreus thumbs through one of your old sketchbooks, the light framing his profile in a soft green. Pieces of parchment fall out and he fumbles. You shake your head with a smile, facing your easel once again.
You hate to admit it, but you think you made the right choice welcoming Zagreus into your life. His visits—brief as they are—quickly become a highlight of your day. He’s not around all the time, but when he does happen to stop by, you find the rest of the day to go by quicker, easier. Even work feels less exhausting.
It’s been a long time since you had a friend. Especially someone as easy to talk to as Zagreus. It’s… nice. He’s nice.
To think not too long ago, you tried to bring him to his knees and suck the soul out of him. You’re glad you didn’t. Mostly.
A small part of you would still love to see him on his knees, but you banish the thought as quickly as it came.
Touching Zagreus with even an ounce of your normal power feels sacrilegious. Not that it affected him before, which you still don’t understand. Still, you dampen your aura as a precaution, letting out enough so as not to strain yourself. For some reason it felt wrong to touch him in that way. He’s too good. Pure.
Ironic, considering the amount of times he’s entered your domain splattered in blood. And yet somehow, he still manages to bring you gifts between runs.
You’ve never known someone to be in possession of so much nectar. And he just hands it out freely? The demonic, selfish part of you can’t understand why. Perhaps he’s bored of the stuff. Common in his corner of the Underworld. The thought of this stuff just laying around makes you chuckle. In all seriousness, where he gets it, you suspect he’s got a supplier of some sort, probably in the deepest pits of Taratarus. The Tartarian and Asphodelish marketplaces sure don’t.
They don’t have a lot of things.
“It’s not that I can’t color. I just don’t have any,” You shrug, continuing to sharpen and blend shadows where you see fit. “Trust me. I’ve visited every market in Tartarus and Asphodel; art materials aren’t exactly high in demand.”
Zagreus looks up from your sketchbook, parchment sheets filled to the brim with charcoal and lead. “And Elysium? There’s a grand market by the arena, you know.” He’s not trying to be condescending—you know—but a dull ache forms at the back of your skull, a sour squirm rising in your chest at his ignorance. His naivety.
“And you truly believe they’d serve me?” You scoff.
“Why not?”
You raise an eyebrow, and he meets your gaze, unwavering, like he can’t see the horns, wings, and tail. He is so used to your presence, they no longer register.
That makes you no less a demon. A succubus.
You shake your head, “Contrary to popular belief, Elysium don’t take kindly to beings like me.”
“Oh. I’m sorry.”
You give him a tightlipped smile as his brow furrows, visibly crestfallen. “Don’t worry your pretty, little head, Zagreus. It is what it is.” Turning back to the canvas, you swirl your brush and mix different gray tones on your palette. Oh, why is getting the right shade so difficult?
Sensing the shift in your mood, Zagreus glances down, flipping through your old sketches, all black and white and shades of gray. “But if you had the materials, would you? Draw and paint in color?”
You don’t even have to think, your eyes focused on a particular corner of the painting. “Yes.”
A moment later, stone rumbles and you look up in time to see his footprints cool off. The sketchbook has returned to its rightful place, wedged between the leather-bound novels and trinkets in your bookcase.
Two runs later, Zagreus barges in, gasping for breath like he raced over as soon as he could. There’s burns on his arms, blood sprayed across his face, a gaping wound on his thigh as if he’d been stabbed, but none of that matters—not to him at least—as he holds out a box held with twine to you, his teeth bared in an eager smile.
And when he slaps down a handful of colorful gems for a commission, your cheeks grow sore, unable to stop smiling back.
AN: Succubi!Reader tried to buy colored paint once and it unfortunately did not turn out as they hoped 😔 Good thing Zagreus got the hook up 😌🫰✨️

What's your favorite part of having a pet snake? It seems like an interesting choice of a pet
Ooooh, a lot of things!! They’re just such silly little guys, haha! Have you ever seen a snake drink water? You can see their lil cheeks moving.
They get into all sorts of shenanigans, too! One time Helios managed to upend his water bowl and got real upset. Another time Noodle (my first snake!) somehow climbed up a branch and started sliding along the upper corner of her terrarium.
They have a lot of personality! Helios is really chill! He barely tried to bite me even when he was scared of me and he’s really good with strangers, but some snakes are really huffy and strikey. He only likes rats from a certain brand of supplier, too. He just refuses to eat anything else, and I know some only like certain colors of mice or rats!
This one might be a lil weird haha, but I like prepping food for him! I get frozen rats delivered and when it’s his feeding day I thaw them out, dip them in hot water in a baggie and brain them. I think he’d eat fine even if I didn’t, but it’s just that going out of my way to prepare food for him feels nice, yknow?
Oh but if I had to choose something it’d probably be this: I know a lot of people think reptiles aren’t as good pets as mammals because they aren’t super affectionate, but they learn to recognize you and trust you and come out to look at you!! It’s the most amazing feeling in the world. Even if Helios doesn’t love me the way he would if he was a dog, I know he trusts me and knows I’ll keep him safe and fed!

Hi!
I have enjoyed your posts about salsify and would very much like to inflict salsify seeds on my nearest and dearest for them to grow. Do you have any recommended suppliers of seeds? I am in the UK.
Thank you!
In reference to this post about there being food plants you rarely find in shops, because they don’t meet the needs of supermarket supply chains, like white salsify, a plant that bleeds red sticky latex when bruised.
Seed buying season usually starts around December, unless you’re planning a bulk order as part of a collective, so many of these places won’t have their final 2023 collections up. Here are the companies I like best and why.
MoreVeg: https://moreveg.co.uk/epages/bd0b9b93-06b9-4b49-9efb-f179fdacfbdd.mobile/?ObjectPath=/Shops/bd0b9b93-06b9-4b49-9efb-f179fdacfbdd SALSIFY: SOMETIMES, CHECK BACK IF IT ISN’T THERE.
What I like about MoreVeg is that she
1. Only sells a small amount for a cheaper price, I.e. 3 pumpkin seeds, because let’s be real, you aren’t really growing more than 3 pumpkins of the same type at the same time: you want lots of different ones. So, like, while other people sell you an absurd amount of runner bean seeds, like 324 or something wild, she puts 20 in a packet, because that’s what a normal person would want.
2. She writes a little handwritten note in the packet and it makes me feel like she really remembers me every year 🥹
3. She carries some lines I like, like she GETS having weird decorative pumpkins in a way that most British people don’t.
4. She does cheaper collections of useful things, like green manure collections, pollinator-friendly bloom collections, meadow flowers for cutting collections, “carrots of all colors,” all nicely portioned and cheaper.
5. I personally don’t care hugely about everything being heirloom, so it’s nice that she has a mixture.
RealSeeds: https://www.realseeds.co.uk SALSIFY: check back if not there!
The real MVPs. You guys know how I love and value graunchy 1990s websites, right? I love and value the RealSeeds website. From their Art Nouveau paper packets (plastic free!) to the way that they throttled orders during the COVID seed rush to keep staff safe, everything they do is extremely thoughtful and ethical. (Lots of people see the title and think they’re associated with RareSeeds, the USA-based Mennonite heirloom seed people, but they’re not: this is a UK-based band of unproblematic heirloom seed fanatics.) They’re in the business of supplying, preserving, testing and promoting rare heirloom seeds, and do not carry ANY hybrids.
1. Probably the best and funniest part of their business model is how they constantly try to convince you to stop buying seeds from them, because you should really save and grow your own seeds, instead of buying them. I love businesses that try to talk you out of participating in capitalism.
2. This is where I got my Glass Gem popping corn from (and I did indeed save my own seeds to plant the following year!) As nowhere else in the UK carries them.
3. As you may have gathered, I’m a big fan of using The Best Plant For The Job (Rather Than Killing Myself Having All My Plants Be Unproblematic.) so I am not HUGELY concerned about using hybrids for some of my favourite reliable plants - like for example the Summer Ball F1 hybrid courgette, which meets all of my needs so perfectly that I’m just NOT going to wrestle with trying to get all those properties I like in an heirloom that will make my life harder. I’m just not. I already have a day job in saving the world, not everything has to be perfect. However, I really support RealSeeds, so I do my best to buy as much as possible from them - while also putting them out of business, by saving my own seed where it makes sense.
4. All of their listings are so brilliantly and awesomely written and formatted in EXACTLY the style I like, like, please read these: https://www.realseeds.co.uk/otherbeans.html
5. They do a lot of interesting work trying to source heirlooms from around the world and select strains that can produce in the UK’s environment. Glass Gem, for example, is one of the only “Indian corns” you can grow in the UK, and RealSeeds selected the other! They also carry things like edamame, rainbow quinoa, and a particularly productive strain of amaranth - food plants from around the world that don’t mind settling in the UK. I also love how whenever the staff eat something like “a particularly tasty squash they’ve never seen before” in their travels abroad, they find the grower and ask respectfully to trade seeds.
Victoriana Nursery wouldn’t normally stand out in this crowd on seeds, they just don’t have the selection, I see their big strength as being in fruit trees and fruit bushes: but have a great collection of offbeat herbs for natural remedies: https://www.victoriananursery.co.uk SALSIFY: YES
Raid their catalogue for things like dyer’s chamomile (which makes a yellow dye) bergamot (for making your own Earl Grey?) and the original Marsh Mallowroot (a distinctive herb whose flavor is obvious if you think about it!)
King’s Seeds UK in association with Suffolk Herbs: https://www.kingsseeds.com SALSIFY: YES
Our allotment community goes in on a yearly seed order: bulk seed orders that meet a minimum order threshold can get up to 50% discount on seeds. The committee are very keen on pressing the paper catalogues into your hands, with bulk order forms already tucked inside. I got the 50% bulk discount this year, which worked out okay.
1. Their selection is very no-nonsense and the varieties are all the kind of very productive, market-garden old reliables - not very bold or sexy. Honestly? If you mean to be serious about growing food, that’s what the bulk of your land should prioritise. It’s fun to mess around the edges with black tomatoes and purple carrots and experiments in growing heirloom quinoa, and you should DEFINITELY do all of that!!! but if you mean to be serious and have enough vegetables to make chutneys or preserves, open up a catalogue like this one and look for high reliability and disease resistance.

What is Food Powder Colors
Food and beverage coloring can be added with the use of food powder colors, commonly referred to as food-grade powder colors or food coloring powders. They are finely ground pigments that offer a variety of attractive and colorful colours and are simple to blend and disseminate into different culinary preparations.
Food powder colors are frequently employed in the food business to improve the aesthetic appeal of goods, produce distinctive designs, or correspond to certain brand identities. They are adaptable and can be used in a variety of products, including desserts, beverages, dairy products, baked goods, and more.
Usually created from synthetic or natural materials, these color powders. Natural food coloring is produced using plant-based ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and spices. On the other side, synthetic powder colors are made chemically to imitate natural hues or make distinctive tints that aren't found in nature. Both varieties go through extensive testing to guarantee they are safe and fit for ingestion.
Food powder colors online UAE are advantageous because they are simple to use, have a long shelf life, are stable under diverse processing circumstances, and can provide a variety of colors. Their powdered form enables exact control over color intensity, and they are simple to combine with both dry and wet components.
Food powder colors have changed the food industry by giving producers of food goods an easy and efficient option to add eye-catching hues that will appeal to consumers.

WIP Wednesday - Tagged by @renecdote @spotsandsocks and @megsvstheworld
So, I usually share a snippet once a week, but it’s been one of those days and I’m having fun with this. My Mafia AU.
...
Buck could tell that Eddie was intrigued by the way his eyebrows raised in curiosity. It was a nice change of pace to have someone genuinely interested in what he had to say. "The owner worked for twelve years to finally open this place; it wasn’t fair that he was paying a thirty percent upcharge on top of soaring food costs."
"So, you…?"
"I negotiated contracts for reputable food suppliers and when the old ones tried sending hired thugs to rough up Niran and his family…,” Buck swirled his glass of wine. “Let’s just say some of my people were waiting."
"Evan Buckley, benevolent Godfather."
Buck rolled his eyes. "It's your turn."
"My turn?"
"Tell me something about yourself."
"What do you want to know?"
What he’d look like spread out on Buck’s bed. He licked his lips. "I dunno."
"I love tamales, my favorite color is green, and I’m deadly to house plants." Eddie sat back, pursing his lips in thought "Now, I’ve got a real question for you.”
"Go for it."
"I need to know more about these threats against you. When I first took this job, it was to provide protection during a high-stakes meeting. Then we were followed. If this is going to be long-term, I need to know more."
"Would you like that?" Buck stared at him, trying to sound neutral. "If this was long term?
