Low Maintenance:
Busy homeowners in Melbourne appreciate the low maintenance requirements of laminate hybrid flooring. Regular sweeping or vacuuming and the odd damp mopping are usually enough to maintain it clean and looking its best. It is stain resistant. The protective wear layer ensures that the flooring remains resistant to fading, ensuring long-lasting beauty.

♪ — 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗬 𝗪𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗥𝗦 - part five lando norris x fem! streamer! reader (fluff) series summary . . . After unexpectedly making a new friend during a stream, Lando finds himself addicted to playing video games with this girl who he can't get out of his head. His addiction gets worse when he somehow finds himself yearning for her company, eager to spend time with her in any shape or form, whether it's online or maybe possibly in person.
( fic master list | general master list ) ( requests ) ( previous | next )
Lando looked around cautiously, pulling his luggage along the smooth airport floors to the exit. He pursed his lips with a sigh. Plucking his phone from his hoodie pocket, He pulled the cap on his head further down to avoid being recognised. But you knew it was him right away, jogging over.
When Lando saw you you could swear his smile was so wide it lit up the whole airport.
“So good to see you again.” You sigh, greeting him with a little hug.
“You’ve grown taller.” Lando joked as he hugged you back, sighing internally in relief that he got to hold you again. He’s been spending a lot of his free time ( and his not-so-free time ) on Stardew Valley in hopes of interacting and spending more time with you. But nothing compared to actually being here with you.
The two of you looked at each other with a smile for a few seconds before his eyes caught the watch on your wrist.
“Oh wow, pretty.” He hummed playfully, lifting your wrist to his ear so he could listen to the ticks of your Richard Mille— which was just an excuse so he could hold your hand.
“Alright, let's go.” Lando nodded, keeping your hand held in his own, the back of your hand pressed to his chest like it was some valuable treasure he feared others might try to steal from him.
★ ☆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
“We’re not going to get caught.” You assured Lando as you walked through the huge halls. The Brit was wearing inconspicuous clothes, trying to blend in with university students. You’d had one last lecture for the day and decided to drag Lando along because you didn’t want to leave him alone. This wasn’t Melbourne, “you don't know the place or people around here” was your excuse. Sure, Lando is a grown man and would do fine on his own for an hour and a half but you just wanted to drag him along.
Settling down in a row closer to the back, Lando finds himself getting bored pretty easily. He never graduated secondary school, you can’t expect him to understand the ecology of coral reefs. Leaning his cheek on his fist, watching you scribble notes and diagrams along with formulas with long equations and letters.
He was lucky that fifteen minutes into the lecture he discovered your gorgeous laptop waiting for him in your bag, using the mouse pad so his clicks aren't loud when he plays Fortnite. And when the two students snickering behind him snickered and laughed, he gave them a good glare that probably shut them up. A normal person wouldn’t expect an F1, Lando Norris nonetheless, to randomly be sitting in front of you in your lecture playing Fortnite and then glare at you when you laugh at them.
When the lecture ended and people started getting up to leave, Lando lowered the laptop screen watching you go over your notes one last time, jotting questions on a stick before stuffing your belongings away and getting up. And just as the two of you were climbing the stairs to leave the room, “Ms. Ln, if I could talk with you for a second.”
Clenching your jaw, you give Lando a look telling him to stay right where he stood while you jog down the steps to your professor. Lando holds the strap of his bag as he watches you talk with your teacher before being handed a nice thick stack of papers. “Oh and Lando,” The man in his early forties called for your friend, rummaging through his book bag.
You found yourself blushing embarrassed at being discovered, not expecting your teacher of all people to recognize Lando. You watched as Lando jogged down the stairs when asked to sign the McLaren hat your professor had pulled out. “Is Yn a good student?” Lando joked with a smile as he drew his name with a Sharpie. “One of the best.” Your professor chuckled, returning your wave as you walked out with Lando.
“I’m pretty sure some kids recognized me so we better kick off.” He said quietly in your ear. With a nod, you checked your watch which gave a smile as it told you the time.
On the bus, you hugged your bag to your chest as you sat beside Lando. “Still can’t believe you don’t have a car.” You chuckled looking up at him with a smirk.
“What? You’ve never been on public transport?” you tease back. Lando scoffed. “I rode the train with Carlos once when we were going to the Drive To Survive premier.” He justified folding his arms with a huff. You rolled your eyes playfully. “I don’t mind busing. Doesn’t bother me. Besides, I can’t drive anyway.” You breathe out, leaning back and closing his eyes.
Lando knew you couldn’t afford a car when you called a cap to pick you up at the airport. You're out here on your own and studying in a foreign country, it’s common to not be able to rent or own cars. But never had Lando assumed that you couldn’t drive. He never expected it. And it just felt wrong. The Brit lets you lean your head on his shoulder, watching you scroll through your phone until you fall asleep.
He didn’t move a muscle, keeping a hand around your shoulders to hold your steady during stops or speed bumps. Or maybe he just wanted to hold you close to him. When it was time to get off, Lando was glad you had the trip active on Google Maps so you didn’t find yourself waking up in another city. He held your hand as he walked your still-sleepy figure off the bus and up to your apartment building. He was glad he was holding you again, even if it was just your hand. It made him happy that you didn’t let go.
“My roommate is only here on the weekends so we’re free.” You unlocked the door with your free hand and kicked your shoes off once you entered, the Brit copying your movements. You stretched your hands and body before crouching down to greet the cat that rubbed himself on your ankle.
Lando chuckled as he plopped on the couch watching you open the fridge and pulling out Red Bull. “Default flavour, Norris?” You ask, tossing him the blue and silver can. Lando caught the drink easily and pulled the tab open with a ‘fzzzz’. Sitting on the couch beside him, you sipped your drink while looking disappointed at the mess of an attempt to build a shelf you had bought a few days prior.
“Sorry for the mess, I would've cleaned up if you told me you were coming sooner. Or should’ve just got it from Ikea where they give instructions.” You sigh, kicking the nails and wood away in hopes of gathering the mess in one spot so it could be forgotten in a corner. Lando waved it off. “You should see my apartment. ” He assured, “I can help you with it later.” He offered and you smiled with a sigh. “I’d love that.” You nodded looking at him. Lando returned your smile.

★ ☆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
“It’s not that hard.” Lando scolded as he slowed beside you, reaching over and fixing the belt around your chest. “Right pedal to go, left to stop.” he reminded. You watched him as he went off in his kart, stopping a few meters away to see if you were following.
The perks of having Wednesday mornings off are that everyone is at their jobs and the kids are at school, leaving Lando the opportunity to drag you to a karting track in attempt to teach you how to drive. And he was successful, other than the fact that you were sticking to slower speeds than Lando would've liked.
In the end, you’d stayed three and a half hours instead of the original one and a half. It leaves you feeling dizzy whenever you walk as if you were still driving.
The walk from the track to was filled with laughter as you held your hands up. Lando wrapped his arm around your waist to keep you from stumbling, pulling you along. The laughing didn’t stop. You snuggled into each other in a cafe booth, sharing a menu.

It's just the beggining (Oscar Piastri)
Oscar hasn't done or said anything, so you're taking matters into your own hands
Note: english is not my first language. It's my first Oscar piece and I'm nervous posting this, but hopefully you enjoy it! 🫶
Thank you so much to everyone who likes and reblogs, your feedback is appreciated 🤍 and I'm taking requests so if you have any ideas or concepts you want to share, feel free to do so as I'll try to get to them the best I can!
my masterlist
Cw: mentions reader's grandparents' health issues, mentions the situation with McLaren and Daniel, insomnia
Tag list: @myloverjk-blog
"Hey, Y/N!", James called you once he saw you walk by his classroom, "hey", you greeted back, adjusting your books on your arms.
"There is a new kid, I'm sure you know, Oscar Piastri his name is, and apparently he's staying the long weekend too, like you", he trailed off, not knowing if he was stepping further than he should.
"Yes, I am staying, it's okay to talk about it", you gave him tight lipped smile, "well, I was hoping you'd keep him company - he's a bit shy, but he's very fun to be around and the teacher also thought it would be good since you're both staying", he reasoned as you nodded.
You had to stay back because your grandparents didn't live in England, and because of their old age and problems that naturally arose with that, your parents had to fly out and spend sometime with them, meaning you didn't have anyone back home, so you stayed. As for Oscar, you found out that he was staying back because his family was in Melbourne.
"At first, I just had online schooling, but it got trickier to manage and my dad needed to go back to work so I had to stay back", he explained when you asked him why he was there, "and I hope I can focus on racing, but you already know that", he scoffed softly.
"I don't think I do, I'm sorry", you narrowed your eyes, genuinely unaware of what he was talking about.
After he told you all about his career until that moment, as well as his hopes and dreams, he chuckled, "you really didn't know?", he wondered.
"I didn't! The girls said something about you moving here but I didn't listen much, I'm not that into gossip and my memory is like Dory's, I can never keep up with the latest who likes who and who flirted with what's his face", you earnestly replied.
For the first time since he arrived at the school, he felt like he could really trust someone and he could hope for new friendships on this side of the world.
You were there for his final race in F4, clapping at him on the podium, and even F3 and F2 despite your university deadlines, always making sure you could support him in every way you could.
"Hey, Osc", you said over the phone, setting your pen down the desk and swivelling in the chair. You wanted to get as much knowledge and experience as possible, so you applied to do a internship in a physiotherapy clinic near your apartment during the summer.
"Hey, Y/N, how are you doing?", he asked as you could notice the antsyness on his voice.
"I'm good, it's a bit of a slow day here, my supervisor said I could read up on a few articles", you mused, "is everything okay?", you asked.
"I was wondering if you wanted to have dinner tonight", he began, "you can come to my flat if that's okay, I'll order something in since I can't be trusted in the kitchen", he suggested.
"Fine by me, I'd like that, sounds really nice", you smiled, "I'll see you soon, then", you added, not wanting to dwell much on the fact that he didn't answer your question.
When you left the clinic, you walked to Oscar's place since the sun had graced you for the day and it was still nice to be out. Knocking on the door, you waited for him to open it, "I'm still in my scrubs as I didn't see the need to change", you said as you walked inside, hugging Oscar after dropping your backpack on the floor.
"Hey, you look nice, don't worry about it", he smiled as he led you to the living room, "I had to go and get the take out myself, but it's still warm", he said as you sat at the dining table.
"Now can you tell me if there's something wrong?", you wondered as you poured some of the wine he kept for you at his place on your glass.
"I have something to tell you actually", he played with his glass while he fought the smile on his lips, "this weekend I finally had some conversations with McLaren", he began.
"McLaren?", you asked as you served yourself of the food in front of you, taking some bimi brocoli and then some of the warm noodles.
"Yes, McLaren. We finally spoke about contracts and, this morning, I signed the official driver contract for next season", he stated as if he was saying that the sun had been out today.
"You did what? Since when has this been in the works?", you gasped, dropping the kitchen utensils and looking at him intently, "you're driving for McLaren next season?", he nodded, "like, driving on track? Oh my Goodness, Oscar! That's amazing!", you got up and hugged him, "why didn't you lead with that?", you pinched the nape of his neck playfully as you kept the tears from falling from your eyes. This was his dream and he was getting to live it as early as the end of the year when pre season preparations began.
"I didn't want to tell you over the phone", he shrugged his shoulders.
"But how? This is huge, Oscar!", you smiled, your teeth showing and eyes squinting with how high your cheeks rose.
"There were a lot of conversations about it, specially the last few weeks", Oscar explained, "they still want to keep it quiet", he warned.
"So you're driving alongside Lando?", you wondered. You only followed motorsport and the Formula series because of your bestfriend, so the assumption you made was based on what you had seen and read.
"Yes, hence why they want to keep it quiet, I've only told you and my family", he mentioned, "my manager knows that, obviously, but I really need you to keep quiet about it", he smiled.
"Absolutely, don't worry!", you assured, "this is so amazing Oscar! You're going to drive in Formula One! Aren't you amazed?", you beamed.
"I put in the work too, you know?", he dramatically feigned offense as you hugged him tighter, "this is your dream, Osc", you cooed, letting the tears fall freely down your cheeks as you swayed you both around, "I'm so proud of you", you hiccuped, holding his head close to your lips so you could kiss his forehead.
"Let's eat, this is getting cold", your best friend urged as the situation for more intimate and brought you closer and closer to the thing he had been avoiding for nearly a year.
The feelings he had been arbouring for you weren't just friendship. How could he keep himself from being in love with you? You had been there with him and for him when he was alone in a new country, being the other shy kid that spent the long weekend im boarding school, and since then you had been attached by the hip. You were kind, caring, intelligent, beautiful inside and outside and anyone would be a fool to not see why Oscar felt the way he did about you.
.
"I'm just going to a training camp, Y/N, I do these every year!", Oscar reasoned as you groaned.
"Who am I going to complain to about university? Or how noisy my neighbours are? I'm going to die of boredom", you stated, "when you come back, I will have ceased to exist because of boredom and lack of attention", you exaggeratedly threw yourself on your sofa.
"You won't, silly", he chuckled, pulling you up since his trainer was picking him up soon, "you're going to go out and enjoy yourself, okay? You'll barely notice I'm gone", he tried as you helped him with his suitcases down to the door.
"I'll miss you", you muttered as you hugged him, "enjoy your training camp!", you smiled as you pulled away, waving at him before you made your way to your place.
Getting on with the project you had to hand in at the end of the week, you got it all through to the end, leaving time to proofread later.
You clicked on the folder where you kept your photos and videos, looking through them and reliving all of the memories you had in there.
Most of them had Oscar somehow, wether it was a screen grab from one of your FaceTime calls when he was at races, picnics in the park and lazy days at your place.
You had to admit it, for your sake and Oscar's sake as your friendship was on the line. At first you thought it was just the fact that a boy seemed to want to spend time with you, so you put it to that. Recently, however, things changed perspective and you felt stronger feelings and emotions when you thought about him.
You loved spending time with him and cherished every single hour he chose to spend with you whenever he didn't have racing related duties. Every time he hugged you, you clung just a little longer to feel hia body against yours and his arms enveloping you.
Whenever someone approached you in the rare times you went out clubbing with your friends, "I have a boyfriend" became more a wish and a need rather than some made up excuse to get guys to leave you alone.
So, to sum it up, you either had an honest conversation with him or continued to dwell on feelings you couldn't keep to yourself.
.
"Y/N just sent me a picture of her notes, can you believe they ask them to know all of that?", he showed his trainer Kim while they had lunch after a strenuous workout.
"I had to learn most of that, too", he said nonchalantly, not necessarily diminishing your competences and intelligence but letting Oscar know that maybe his infatuation with you had a source elsewhere.
"Y/N is very smart, I'm sure she'll do really well - oh, she sent me a picture, she's all dressed up!", he said as he inspected the mirror picture. He assumed it was a requirement for your presentation, as you usually preferred comfy attire, since you had a pair of trousers and a shirt, some small heels on your feet and your bright smile that left him feeling butterflies in his stomach every single time, "she looks gorgeous", he said as he texted you the same words along with wishes of good luck.
"Something you'd like to say?", Oscar quesioned when he felt Kim's eyes on him as he put the phone back on the table, screen down.
"I'm just here wondering why you're not together", the trainer offered simply after he wiped his mouth on the napkin.
"No, we are not together, at least not yet", he mused. The thought had crossed his mind, admitting how he felt about you before the season began. If everything went belly up and you didn't feel the same and didn't see him that way, he would occupy his time and channel all of his energy into racing; if you did feel the same, he would have been worrying for nothing and would have a extra spring up his step for his first season in Formula One.
"Good to know you're working on it", Kim waved his fork at Oscar, "now we need to finish this and we'll do some recovery stretches", he announced as Oscar groaned, prolonging his meal as long as he could.
.
Today, Oscar was coming back from Lanzarote and you couldn't wait to speak to him. Lately, it all dawned on you.
It happened a couple of nights ago, a slight insomnia episode keeping you up when you thought about what things would be like from now on. Oscar would travel a lot more, and he would be in a much public role compared to his previous one. It would seem stupid to other people, but a lot more people would know him, and you were sure they would fall in love with him. How could they not? Hence why you wanted to quit those thoughts while you were ahead of them.
I'm on the cab to your place, it should take another 10 minutes and Can't wait to see you, Oscar texted you just as you finished tidying your living room.
You missed him dearly, so when you threw yourself into his arms, you didn't let go as he kicked his suitcases into your apartment while still holding close to him, "I kind of need to get my backpack off my back, and I can't do that if I don't set you somewhere - only for a bit at the very least", Oscar suggested after trying to balance you against his body with one arm but he didn't feel safe enough to let you go without you falling.
Reluctantly, you got back down, feet back on the floor as he discarded his backpack before he tapped your hip twice, "up again, I want a proper hug", he mumbled as you jumped back, his hands protectively holding your thighs up as he nuzzled his face on your neck, "I need you so, so much", he sighed.
"I missed you too", you replied back, "and I don't ever want to miss you like this when I don't know how to feel about you", you forwarded. Now or never, you thought as you jumped out of his hold and faced him.
"I missed you like I have never missed you before, not even when you go a visit your family or when you went away for triple headers - and I've been trying to understand why and I finally realised what it was. I like you, more than friends like eachother - for Goodness' sake, I'm in love with you", you chuckled nervously as you admitted it out loud to him, "and everyone else will love you too - I just know it -, so soon enough you won't be my Osc anymore and I couldn't not tell you. People - and these gorgeous girls all over the world - are going to like you so much and I won't be able to compete with them, so I'm just telling you how I feel. You can leave if you want or we'll just stay here in silence of that works too, but I needed to admit my feelings", you let out in one go.
Oscar smiled, a big teeth and gums showing smile as his eyes crinkled at your words, "I'm not leaving, and we are not going to be silent - at least immediately - because I want to tell you how I feel", he began, "I'm in love with you too; I have been for about two years and only realised it a year ago, and I don't want to pretend anymore. I want to be able to kiss you, to hug you, to take you with me wherever possible, to sleep next to you, to argue with you, I want all of it. With you", he said, hand cupping your cheek as his eyes asked for consent to kiss your lips.
It was as you dreamed it would be, soft, gentle and caring, lips moving in sync as you held him by his waist, pulling him closer to you.
"I thought I was loosing you to the whole F1 fandom", you chuckled, looking up at him once you pulled away.
"Of course you won't, you're my best girl", he winked, "this is just the beggining for us", he added as he pulled you to cuddle on the sofa, sharing his stories of the past days as you revelled in the feeling of being in his arms.

that's my man * matt + rocky
notes: this one is canon ok and much longer so pls hi
(series masterlist) | (📂 the sophomore year)
the first date
“so this is what you meant by you had something up your sleeve!”
the main doors of the hotel open and matt immediately spots the white range rover parked by the sidewalk. she’d been using her phone initially, looking up and whirling around as he called out to her.
“i know a guy who was willing to lend me his car.” she unveils her fisted hand, car keys — to presumably the car she’s cozied up with by the sidewalk — and grins. “i asked logan’s older brother if i could borrow his car for something tonight.”
“you’re as resourceful as you look absolutely gorgeous tonight,” he grins, stopping right in front of her on the sidewalk. “do you want me to drive? you did already take care of the transportation. seems like the least i could do.”
she scoffs, shaking her head and waving a hand in the air to dismiss him. “i don’t reckon you frequent south florida, do you? cause i kinda know a spot.”
“these are for you, by the way.” a blush creeps up the older man’s cheeks as he extends his arms, presenting her with a bouquet of red roses. “and, do you? frequent south florida?”
“aw, thank you. that’s so sweet,” she coos, taking the flowers into her hands. she peeks at him momentarily as she looks down at the flowers. “and i did growing up — i used to spend a couple weeks a year with logan’s family in miami, then a couple in melbourne with oscar’s.”
“very ms worldwide of you to do so!” matt teases. “so, you said you know a spot? you’re not going to kill me, are you?”
she unlocks the car and turns. “not on the first date, matt. that’s third date activity.”
the first night over (at hers)
“is hijacker okay? he’s been staring at me for like… the past 3 hours i’ve been here,” matt whispers, pointing at the cat that’s perked up on the cat tree in the corner of the living room. “won’t even let me introduce myself to him — just walks away.”
the girl, left momentarily to fix themselves a drink, saunters back in with a tired sigh. she glances momentarily at the cat still staring at matt from across the room and grins. “jack doesn’t like anyone but logan. he hates me too. watch.”
matt raises his eyebrows as she puts the cups down on the coffee table. she perks up and turns sharply to hijacker. the black cat in the blue collar flinches slightly at her sudden action, its ears lowering slightly.
“jack, baby. wanna cuddle?” she takes a mere step towards the cat tree and hijacker leans back with a soft hiss. she turns back to matt. “see? i’ve fed that cat for like 6 months now — still hates me.”
“and kidnapper’s an extrovert?”
she glances at the cat that’s taken it’s spot on matt’s lap, loafed up and eyes closed. “i think he just likes you. he avoided logan for like 3 months before he accepted the fact that logan comes with the home i gave him.”
“and stubby?”
their heads turn to the dog that’s fallen asleep by the dog bowl. she shrugs. “he just really likes sleeping on the floor by the bowls. we usually find him there in the morning.”
“i respect where the priorities lie for stubby,” matt jokes.
he stretches his arms as she approaches him, slowly sitting herself on the couch and nuzzling herself into him. “thanks for flying over to keep me company.”
“well, you were hinting that you were lonely cause logan’s out of town. i had to come by and make sure you’re good,” matt grins. “thanks for not turning me away when i texted you that i was downstairs.”
“ah.” she scrunches her nose, a blush creeping up her cheeks. “who could ever turn down such a cute guy when he shows up with flowers so suddenly?” she has a hand on his chest as she looks up at him a cheesy grin. “seems silly for me to do so.”
“and i missed you, so,” matt shrugs with a teasing grin, glancing down at her. “had to come down and see my girl.”
the first crash
“rocky, someone keeps calling you. matt something?”
“is that why i heard ciara screaming?” the girl sits up from the bed and sighs, scratching her head. “you know matt, blythe?”
“no, but i did listen to ciara scream about it for like 10 minutes,” blythe laughs. she hands over the phone to her older sister. “anyway, he asked to speak with you — said he was worried cause he saw your crash and you haven’t spoken to him since you started the race in montreal.”
she hums, eyes fluttering. “right. that’s because you guys took my phone from me.”
“that’s because you kept trying to call oscar and sing him the national anthem of the united states,” blythe rolls her eyes with a soft laugh. “how do you even know that?”
“i memorised it to terrorise logan while we lived together,” she grins. “anyway, i’ll call matt to let him know i’m alright. thank you for giving me back my phone.”
“well, i’ll leave you to it,” blythe mutters, halfway out the door with a small grin. “say hi to ‘matt’ for me. whoever he is.” she peeks in one last time. “tell me about this guy, mate. i can’t believe you’re seeing somebody and didn’t tell me.”
she rolls her eyes, sinking into her bed as she dials for matt. she doesn’t know what blythe had said to him, but he immediately picks up.
“hey! i was starting to get worried for you!” is the first thing matt says when she picks up. “was starting to get kinda worried for you.”
“aw, you’re worried for me?” she teases with a small grin. “and how did you know i crashed out anyway?”
matt tilts his head. “what do you mean how do i know? i watched the race.”
she giggles, throwing her head back. “you watched the race? so you saw me screaming at logan and hitting him in the back of his head with my glove?”
“i did,” he scrunches his nose and shakes his head, “don’t tell anyone, but i thought it was funny. i don’t condone it, but it’s funny. anyhoo, is everything okay?”
“thank you?” she laughs. “well, i’m okay. i was just super high on painkillers the past 2 days. i was asleep the entire flight back too.”
“what about with logan? your sister texted me back so i’m assuming you didn’t go back to london?”
“logan and i fought. i didn’t think going back to the apartment would do anyone any good, you know? i’ll probably talk to him in a couple days.”
he raises his eyebrows. “really?”
“probably not. he turned into me,” she frowns. “but, anyway, how cute of you to call until my sister decided to finally pick up!”
“well, i was concerned. and i missed you,” he sighs with a small grin. “but if you’re not doing anything, do you wanna stay on call? we can play a game or something.”
the first ‘i love you’
she never thought that she’d find herself back in her parents’ house with a man that’s neither logan nor oscar
she drops herself on her bed next to matt, sighing exasperatedly. she turns her head to smile at him slightly. “thank you for agreeing to meet my family on such short notice. papa was interested — i don’t really date often.”
“absolutely. it’s a pleasure meeting them.” he turns his head to grin at her, scrunching his nose. “i had a lot of fun today.”
“really? my missing sister didn’t raise questions?”
“hey, i don’t blame her for not attending dinner.”
“ah, good for you. cause i do.”
she tears her eyes away from him and looks up at the ceiling of her bedroom. surrounding her light are glow-in-the-dark stars and a moon, stuck up there when she was 15. “you know, i used to be really scared of the dark.”
“no way,” matt giggles, following her gaze. “how did you get those up there? you’re not…”
“oscar and logan helped me. i used to force blythe to sleep in my bedroom with me with a nightlight switch on in the corner of my bedroom over there,” she laughs, sitting up and pointing over at a secluded area in the bedroom where her bookshelf sits. “but she wanted to eventually sleep in her own room so we had to find a way to combat sleeping alone at nights.”
“and who came up with the great idea of the stars and the moon on the ceiling?”
“oscar,” she purses her lips and turns her head again to face him. “i feel really bad sneaking behind his and logan’s backs. but i’m really afraid that they’ll scare you away.”
“what? why would you be afraid of that, bub?” she reclines to lay on her back again with a huff. he reaches over to pinch her cheek tenderly with a small grin. “surely they’re not as bad as you say they are.”
“but they are.” she turns to lie on her side to face him with a frown. “they sat me down in a meeting room for 15 minutes once just to give me dating advice, matt. no sane group of people would do that — they had a buzzer and everything!”
true, it might sound a little absurd. “i think they just really care for you, bubs. you must find it a little endearing that they did that for you.”
“it was except one of them kept saying that every guy i’ll meet is a pervert,” she whispers, scrunching her nose as she tries to hold back a giggle from the memory. “i want you to like them, you know? they mean a lot to me. and especially… you know… oscar and logan. they’re my best friends.”
“don’t overthink it, bub. everything will be okay,” he whispers back. “and i love you, so it’ll work out.”
she hums, eyebrows shooting up as everything around her starts to disappear. there’s a ringing in her ears as her heart starts to race in her chest. “you what? you do?”
“did i just say that?” he squints at her with a teasing grin. she furrows her eyebrows and pulls her head back with a frown. “i’m kidding. of course, i do. i love you. but just because i said it does not mean that you have to say it back.”
she’s had one relationship in her lifetime, with someone whose name she can barely even remember. at 16, everything means the world, but at 21, it just no longer seems so serious.
this is technically her first boyfriend; or so blythe claims.
“i do,” she whispers after a moment of silence. she sits up, body twisted to hover over him a small grin. she bites down on her bottom lip. she’s not one to be emotional too often. “i love you.”
the first time
a gasp passes her lips when matt’s lips leave hers, peppering a trail of kisses from the corner of her lips down to her neck. it wasn’t a problem until she felt his fingers grazing over the exposed skin where her shirt had hiked up her stomach.
she puts a hand on his shoulder and pulls away, shaking her head. “i’m–”
but it’s like he’d immediately known. which throws her off a little bit because she had a whole speech laid out in her head and everything. “i’m sorry. have i made you uncomfortable?” he tears his hands from her and moves back on the couch slightly to increase his distance from her. “we don’t need to do anything.”
she blinks at him a couple of times, forcing matt to open his mouth again. “like if you don’t want to. it’s okay.”
“it’s not that,” she trails off, scratching the back of her neck with a soft and sheepish chuckle. she purses her lips and lifts her eyes to look at him. “i’ve just…”
he lifts his eyebrows to try and urge her to continue her sentence. she sighs again and throws her head back, chuckling slightly. “what’s wrong? is everything okay?”
“it’s just,” she drops her head with flushed cheeks and an embarrassed grin, “i’ve never had–” she pauses to swallow the lump in her throat, “sex before.”
“oh.” he furrows his eyebrows before he sits up straighter. “oh!”
“laugh it out. i’m a 21-year-old virgin,” she turns to hide her face away with a soft laugh, waving a hand in the air to dismiss his concerns. “get it over with now that i’m admitting it to you.”
“what?” he hunches over to look at her with a small grin. “why are you embarrassed? that’s like… perfectly normal.”
she shrugs. “i feel like it’s weird that i frequent the club and i’m still a virgin, you know? i don’t know — some guys have said that to me.”
he laughs, and drops himself back on the couch, tugging on her sleeve to rest her on his body. “it doesn’t matter. i’m sorry i made you uncomfortable — i didn’t know.”
“and now i’ve ruined the whole moment,” she whines, tearing herself off of him again. she twists her body to look at him. “i do want to; i just thought you should know that… you know, i’ve never had sex.”
“you do?” matt tears his attention from the tv, the movie she’d initially chosen and eventually got bored of still fills the empty air of her apartment. “we don’t have to unless you’re really ready.”
she purses her lips and blinks. “i just thought it was something you should know. in case you were expecting me to be good?”
he furrows his eyebrows. “that’s ridiculous.”
“i don’t really know anything so i guess that’s kinda embarrassing,” she mutters, rolling her eyes. “i don’t want to be like–”
he sits up, inching slightly closer and with a small grin. “bub. i’ve got you, okay?”
she grins. “okay.”
the first night over (at his)
matt tugs on her arm. “get up, bub.”
“no.”
“if i got you ice cream for breakfast?”
the girl, sprawled out on his bed, lifts her head with her eyebrows raised. “really?”
he grins with a nod. “only if you get up now.”
“but i can’t,” she sighs exasperatedly, dropping her head back on the pillow that matt’s put underneath her head. “kota and i have a contractual agreement to cuddle until the sun comes up.”
“really? did she tell you that?” he asks monotonously, glancing at the siberian husky that’s laid over her smaller frame. “did she also tell you that if i say ‘treat’,” his voice perks up and along with it, so does kota’s head to look at him, “that she’ll get up with no question?”
“that’s bribery, your honour,” she snorts, rolling her eyes. “what are you asking me to get up for anyway? i thought it was bed time.”
he hums, “i found this really cool and interesting ice cream parlour. it’s open til midnight if you wanna go.”
a squeak passes her lips, a small grin making its way to her face. “ice cream for supper and breakfast? you spoil me too much, maltesers.”
he hunches over, his face hovering inches from her face. “my girlfriend deserves the best. so, you up for it? we can take kota with us for a walk and some treats.”
she nods excitedly. “i never say ‘no’ to ice cream.”
the first dnf
the safety car comes to a stop right by the paddocks. the girl mutters a soft ‘thank you’ before immediately pushing the door open to leave.
she has her helmet in her hands as she walks with her head low, jaw clenched as she tries her hardest to contain the sob she feels threatening to come out of her.
if she could, she’d tear down all of the walls around her and scream. but she can’t. because around her are cameras pointed at her with fans gawking as she passes them. it’s not their fault her car couldn’t handle the heat.
she makes a sharp turn for the andretti racing home, head hung low until she opens the glass doors in.
“aw, bub.”
she lifts her head from the ground and sighs heavily, shoulders slumping at the sight of the familiar green eyes she’s been hoping to see when she got into the safety car. she lets the door close behind her, throwing her head back as she closes her eyes. “matt.”
“aw, i’m sorry, bub.”
she lets out a soft whine as she finally lets out the sob she’s been holding in for the past 10 minutes, running over to where her boyfriend stands by the bottom of the stairs, expecting her.
she sighs exasperatedly as she takes large steps towards him, tears starting to fall out of her eyes. she lets out a huff when matt’s hands grab at her shoulders firmly, eyes piercing into her own. “hey, hey,” he hums softly, “cameras are pointed at you. keep it together for like 30 more seconds until we get up to your room.”
“what?” she breathes shakily, eyebrows furrowing.
she looks around teary-eyed, only then noticing that not everyone had left the racing home for the race. or perhaps they had rushed back when she retired from the race from an overheating car.
matt’s right — she’d get torn apart by the media and the fans; everyone if she’s to show one moment of vulnerability. it’s just her reality.
“oh,” she turns back to him and hangs her head low again, “okay, let’s just go upstairs for a bit. i need to be at the garage in a while, i think. seb might be looking for me.”
“okay,” he nods, wrapping a protective arm around her as they turn away to head up the stairs. he tries his best to keep her out of the view of cameras and prying eyes, but they both know it’s nearly impossible to keep her name clear of tabloids in a couple of hours.
he presses a tender kiss on her temple and in return, she looks up at him with a small and fragile smile. “come on, let’s get you all patched up before we head back to the garage.”
the first fight
she throws her arms in the air, lips pursed. “it just doesn’t make sense.”
“rocky.” matt’s green eyes pierce into her own, the girl standing her ground and fighting for her cause. he sees where she’s coming from, but realistically, he can’t wrap his head around why there’s arguing about it. “i had one scoop of ice cream with mick.”
“yeah,” she tilts her head, “without me.”
he blinks. “because you were in your car for practice. i couldn’t have possibly gone up to you while you sat in your car and offered you a bite.”
she takes a step back and points a finger at him. “did you even try?”
“try–” he furrows his eyebrows and scowls slightly. “do you want me to get banned from your garage, rocky? why would i even try and give you food while you’re in your car?”
“just say you don’t care about me, matthew!”
“that’s so not what it– what is that?”
the girl standing by the door whirls around to her door, a soft tune coming from the hallway. she glances back at matt with furrowed eyebrows to which he shrugs, just as confused as her.
“i literally know that song,” she trails off softly, “but i can’t place my finger on it. i can’t–”
before you go and make that face when you’re mad at me
“liam lawson!” she stomps her feet on the ground and fully turns away from matt. she swings the door open and is only met by a speaker sitting lonely on the ground as matt’s voice consumes the entire second floor of the andretti garage. “where are you?”
“you can’t find me!”
matt tilts his head in amusement as his girlfriend bends over to pick up the speaker. she makes a sharp turn before a loud squeal is heard, followed by a bunch of smacks, then another string of screams.
“i told you to not play that song, liam! why are you the way that you are?”
“why did you date someone with the apology song and not use it? it’s not my fault, rocky!”
“you’re so annoying, liam!”
“but–”
“stop playing that song when we’re fighting!”
matt hears a door slam closed, and a couple of footsteps before she reappears at the opened door of her driver’s room. she sighs heavily and shuts her eyes for a moment. “i’m so sorry for him. what were we fighting about again?”
“i ate ice cream while you were out on the track for practice,” matt points out. “i’ll buy you a pint and give you a massage as truce? i’m sorry i ate without you.”
she grins. “okay. time to sing the song again, by the way! that’s the only way i’ll accept your apology.”
“a kiss won’t do.”
she shakes her head, hands on her hips as she closes the door behind her. “no can do. only the song will make me smile again.”
“okay, only because i love you.”

Brocket Hall
Nueva
Hace un instante
Hi guys!!
I'm sharing Brocket Hall. This is the 22nd building for my English Collection!
I decorated some of the house ground floor, for reference.
History of the house:
Brocket Hall is a neo-classical country house set in a large park at the western side of the urban area of Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire, England.
On the parkland site were two predecessors: the first of these was built in 1239 as Watership or Durantshide Manor, and was early held variously of Hatfield Manor and the Bishop of Ely. A second predecesor was built about 1430: whereas in 1413 John Mortimer had held Waterships, it is known that in 1477 Thomas Brockett held both manors. The house was acquired by John Brocket in the early 1550s, and passed to his son Sir John Brocket (captain of the personal guard of Queen Elizabeth) on his death in 1558.
The building and park owe much of their appearance today to Sir Matthew Lamb, 1st Baronet, who purchased the estate in 1746 and commissioned Brocket Hall to the designs of the architect Sir James Paine in around 1760.
The next owner was William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne, who was Queen Victoria's first Prime Minister (1835–41). She often visited during this period. His wife, Lady Caroline Lamb, infamously had an affair with Lord Byron, causing Lord Melbourne much embarrassment. For one of his birthdays she held a state banquet in the Saloon, at which she had herself served from a large silver dish, naked.
On Lamb's death, the house passed to his sister Emily, whose second husband was another Prime Minister, Lord Palmerston. Palmerson died at Brocket Hall in 1865, the last UK prime minister to die in office.
On Emily's death, the hall then passed to Emily's grandson by her first marriage, Francis Cowper, 7th Earl Cowper, though it was his younger brother, Henry (d.1887), who lived at Brocket Hall.
In 1893, George Stephen, 1st Baron Mount Stephen, President of the Bank of Montreal and the first Canadian to be elevated to the Peerage of the United Kingdom, leased Brocket Hall from the 7th Earl for the remainder of his lifetime. Over the next three years, guests included the Queen's children: The Prince and Princess of Wales, The Duke and Duchess of Connaught and the Princess Mary, Duchess of Teck. In 1897, one year after his first wife died in 1896, Lord Mount Stephen married Georgina Mary (known as Gian) Tufnell, a Lady-in-Waiting to Princess Mary Adelaide, Duchess of Teck, who encouraged the match. Gian was a lifelong friend and confidante of the Duchess's daughter, Mary of Teck, the wife of King George V, and the Mount Stephenses regularly entertained the royal couple. Gian preferred life at Brocket Hall to the social life that surrounded their London residence at Carlton House Terrace. Lady Mount Stephen was a close friend of Georgina Gascoyne-Cecil, Marchioness of Salisbury, who lived on the neighbouring estate, Hatfield House.
After the death of the 7th Earl Cowper (1905), the underlying future reversion was left to his niece, but she died only a year after him (1906) and the estate passed to her husband, Admiral Lord Walter Kerr, who lived at Melbourne Hall. When the life tenant Lord Mount Stephen died in 1921, Kerr put the estate up for sale, and in 1923 it was purchased by Sir Charles Nall-Cain, who co-ran the brewing company Walker Cain Ltd; he was created Baron Brocket in 1933. His son, Ronald Nall-Cain, 2nd Baron Brocket, was a Nazi sympathiser; he was interned during the Second World War, and his property was sequestrated and put to use as a maternity hospital.

Hello!! May I request 1 and 67 for the notebook thing?
Notebook 1, page 67 is this missing scene from the Blood of Juana the Mad.
1-67 is a missing scene from the Blood of Juana the Mad.
Jack Robinson showed himself out of Phryne’s parlour with a quiet sense of finality that made even Mac’s gut clench. The front door closed with a quiet snick, loud in the unnatural silence he’d left behind and completely at odds with the enormity of the gesture. It was a long, painful moment before Phryne moved at last, pulling herself from her closed-off stillness and shaking her head curtly before she drifted towards another drink.
“This is more than him running scared, isn’t it?” Mac asked her.
“It seems that way. He’s made his mind up, and while I might not like it, I have to respect it.”
Mac accepted the offered drink with a sigh. “I’m sorry, Phryne. If I’d known how bad it was, I never would have called him in.”
“Yes you would.” Phryne touched her glass to Mac’s in an absent toast and nearly downed her drink in one. “It’s me you’d have had to leave out, and then you would have had to turn to me for somewhere for Beatrice to stay anyway, and it would have seemed like I was intruding on his case. This, awkward as it is, is better.”
She rolled her eyes. “I do have other friends with spare rooms, you know.”
Not many, admittedly, and none she would feel she could call on out of the blue and ask to host a student for an unspecified amount of time. Especially someone who needed as much patience as Beatrice did.
It was hard to believe that Phryne had only been back in Melbourne for less than a year. She breezed back in like she’d never been away, and life rearranged itself around her. Within weeks of her return she was the doyenne of Prudence’s social circle, the Adventuresses Club had crystalised around her, and the motley crew who gathered at Wardlow had become more like her family than Margaret and Henry ever had been.
She’d thought it unusual, she had to admit, how little she’d seen lately of Jack Robinson, but since Gertie’s death there had been so much to do and Phryne had just been the natural fulcrum for all of it. Organising the funeral, helping Claude to take legal responsibility for Millie, arranging legal defence for Ailsa and taking care of her house and the intricacies of carrying on the business of the garage. She always seemed to know what needed doing, and if she couldn’t do it herself she knew who could. If she could do it herself, she usually already had.
They’d spent so many nights at the club or at Claude’s house, or occasionally out for dinner. Not at Wardlow, though, once Millie moved out. Before, Mac had thought that Phryne was seeking people out, but now she suspected she was avoiding something instead.
Jack Robinson had walked out and taken a very important part of Phryne Fisher with him. Mac thought that she could guess which part.
“Go on, then,” she said, settling into an armchair. “What’s the long version?”
Phryne shrugged. “I don’t rightfully know. I have my suspicions, but I can hardly claim to be an objective observer.”
“Admitting fallibility. That’s a new one.” Mac tilted her head. “What is your theory?”
She was silent too long, until she’d curled up in the other armchair with her shoes discarded on the floor and one arm wrapped around her knees. “I think he loves me, Mac,” she said quietly. “Poor fool.”
“Don’t do that. Of course he loves you, and why wouldn’t he?” Mac set her empty glass aside and leaned towards Phryne. “You are one of the most courageous, generous, compassionate people I’ve ever met. And he is, for a man, remarkably sensible and observant. And he seems to enjoy your company.”
Phryne rolled her eyes. “That’s sensible, but hardly unusual.”
“You didn’t know him before he knew you. But surely even you can see how much happier he is now. Or was, before he was afflicted with this bout of idiocy.” She sat back in her chair and reached over to top up her drink. “Do you love him?”
“I think I must do,” Phryne admitted. “Quite desperately. Nothing else would hurt this much.”
“And you love your work. Are you going to let hm take them both from you?” She took a sip of her drink while she watched Phryne stare at the ceiling and try, too obviously, not to cry. “This isn’t like you, Pin.”
“None of this is like me! I don’t do falling in love, and certainly not with men who so clearly don’t wish to fall in love with me! It’s probably some sort of cosmic payback. But I miss him, Mac.” She shrugged helplessly. “If we could just go back to being friends… but he’s as stubborn as he is clever. If his mind is made up, God himself couldn’t change it.”
“Yes, well, you aren’t God. You’re Phryne Fisher, and she doesn’t let other people suffer if she can help it; even if it’s caused by their own idiocy.”

*ummm... I saw your tag and the comment and I hope you're at a safe place now. I hope it's not too much. I apologize if this reopens old wound.*
Hey, thanks so much for the concern. I'm completely fine to talk about being kicked out. It helped me leave my toxic situation all that much easier.
Thankfully my Nana let me move in with her the same day so I'm grateful i never ended up on the streets cause that's exactly where I would've been without the help and support I have now. I've got my own increased disability pension, my support worker who's helped me since I graduated high school 3 years ago has been there for me every new milestone I achieve and even helped me get my birth certificate, id's and other important stuff of mine back. I managed to have my first paying job last year at Christmas and my old boss even asked if I wanted to come back again this year! (I am btw, gonna be taking ALL the selfies with Santa :D). I've been applying for jobs about every week but nothing has gone through yet (you would not BELIEVE how many big companies have switched over to AI Interviews its been A NIGHTMARE-) however I'll be going back to Tafe (tertiary education) to get cert 3 in Child Care and see where that might take me, hopefully down a similar line as my support worker, he's helped change my life so much and is one of my biggest heroes. In fact we're even going to Melbourne next week for the PAX convention and he's been helping get our cosplays ready (Going as Verosika Mayday and Stolas from Helluva Boss).
All this compared to when I was practically an unpaid maid in my own home and was literally told often that I don't deserve my own opinion since I was acting "childish" and "disrespectful". That the reason I was suicidal and depressed was because I was "too lazy" to do my chores when I was told to. That if I brought in the washing creased or didnt cook a UNIQUE dinner every night or forgot to wash the dishes afterwards, I hadn't earned the right to eat breakfast the next day. Heck, if I hadn't done some of my chores (cause I was literally out of the house around 9 hours a day studying for a course I BEGGED to quit), like if the clothes got creased in the basket from when my parent left them for WEEKS in their room or vacuum the floor of the entire house, I would have to pay them a "Maid Tax" of $30 (AUD) for every chore of that they did. Oh and I also didn't have any kind of allowance growing up, just a centrelink pension of about $500 a fortnight that I had no control over.
This is all stuff I had to deal with since I was about 11, and I had a lot of other trauma from my other parent when I was younger, as well as other stuff I don't want to mention. I know there are worse things people can go through but I hope no kids get stuck in the same situation I was. No one deserves to feel like they earn the right to just exist in the world. Just because they're acting like a child having a temper tantrum doesn't excuse you having to be the adult in the relationship. I'm 21 in 2 months and I've had to be way more mature than the rest of my family who are in their 60's and 70's (who KNEW how my parent treated me) just so I could mentally survive. Even if they hadn't laid hands on me for a long time, emotional abuse still counted as domestic abuse, a fact I think my parent forgot.
I am fairly certain my parent has undiagnosed BPD, my psychologist and support worker both seem to think so after seeing the messages I've received from my parent over the year, going from scathing rants to suicidal goodbyes to ignoring me for months to civilized invitations to events we both like and then back to scathing rants. I've lived with my parent for so long I understand how their thought process usually goes so I can understand where each of the actions come from but that doesn't mean I'll be excusing them anymore.
They're still my parent, the one who's loved me, raised me, fought for me, guided me and helped support me for my entire life. However, I also have to accept that they're narcissistic, manipulative and hypocritical. Just because I love them does not mean I love how I'm treated by them. I hope that anyone who's going through anything similar to this can find the help they need to get a better support system and rise above the situation you're in. Take it from someone who can't see their own future still, it DOES slowly get better as long as you have at least one person you can count on.
Seriously thanks for the ask, I've never really gotten to properly talk/write about my life before and how it's changed so much in just a year. I hope you have a great day :))
