#Flavorizer Bars For Sunbeam

Gentle sunbeams cut through the whispering mist surrounding the Squat Frog Coffee House. It was some time after lunch and Lute had just finished tidying away dried cups and dishes. He was just full enough to start getting sleepy, and it was easy to zone out. Good time to have a nap soon. The sound of creaking cartwheels broke the spiral out of his daydream. A small covered cart rattled along the dirt and flattened grass towards the coffee house. A long-limbed skydancer wearing a sedge hat was at the reins, coaxing her rambra to a halt. She disembarked in one fluid motion, dusting herself off in a delicate manner. Her voice was warm like a bell. "Lute! I have things for you!" "Miss Nita!" (forum thread: https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/rp/3238950/1#post_54364006)
Gunita had vibrant feathered wings that fluttered with butterflies in a sort of glamor. She was seldom without her fox fur and headdress, allowing only her mouth and her warm ember eyes to identify her. A heavy paper bag was part of her collection of pouches and pockets under her cape. She tipped her hat at Lute as she walked into the coffee house. "Got your letter just before I was leaving Earthhome, so I got you souvenirs as promised. Wouldn't miss The Beast's comeback for anything. I apologize for the meltiness, it was already a bit soft when I got it for you. Got some wasteland pears for you too since I was already there." The skydancer set out her gifts from a paper bag, revealing a pennant, and hat, and a magically chilled pawpsicle. The pawpsicle was gray with blue gum drop eyes slightly askew in the likeness of Kaiju Wrestling star Caledus the Beast.
"Thank you, Miss Nita! Man, can't wait for the matches. Haven't watched good wrestling in a while and I've seen the Beast since I was a hatchie. Tell me about your journey here while I make you a cuppa! Put your feet up!" Lute eagerly ushered Gunita to a seat at the bar, grabbing his gifts in one motion. He made a mental note to keep the pawpsicle stick after eating his ice cream. He poured cups of fresh green tea for them both and sat beside the skydancer at the bar with a bowl of toasted crickets. "It was a good trip," she nodded, taking the cup into her slender hands. "Met many who were selling goods during Greenskeeper Gathering not long ago. Business with Laurelnest's trader was interesting--wanted gold in exchange for plants in the Labyrinth, of all things. The Gladekeeper surely homes all sorts. I'm afraid I can't recommend them as gold is not high on Cloud Brush's priorities." "Local business with neighbors has kept us good on produce as of late," Lute supplied through a mouthful of crickets. We recently got into contact with a roaming produce supplier, and she's been really good to have near with more mouths to feed."Clan Florabrisa grows coffee too, which was delightful. Didn't get too much time to talk, but their grower Vroman knows his stuff. I'll make sure to tell Bluebird of them though! Gold is still good to have." She nodded and took a sip of tea, savoring the flavor. "New clan members, huh? Have you opened your gates?" "I suppose so! I only recently joined Cloud Brush myself. Malta is a weaver and painter. Camarines and Carambola ran a little farm previously, so the fields and animals are theirs. And some laundry dragon named Jeith who really likes denim. He really, really likes denim. It's been lively with them around, and we're glad for it..."
Something wiggled a memory in Gunita's mind, like a loosened tooth, as the spiral eagerly chattered. It was years ago, but the snapshot appeared in a wave of calm as tea hit her tongue.
"It's beautiful, Zareen. Thank you..." Gunita traced her fingers on the simple sketch. Each stroke was calculated and controlled, but the young clan leader's approach was softening--something his father had taught him, no doubt.
"It's a memento for you on your travels. I know it's hard to stay for long. You will always be welcome here, my love. I hope one day I can make home...safe again. For everyone." And for you, the unspoken words rang in silence. The merchant nodded, heart twisting in her chest. "Thank you for understanding. I'll...I'll try my best too. Please don't feel you must wait for me to settle. Create your life here and create your joy, and I'll be happy no matter what." Zareen turned to look at her, electric eyes a glassy bright blue, and she knew he understood.
The sound of a screaming kettle broke the skydancer out of her memory. "Oh, water's done! I'll be a minute," Lute sheepishly grinned. He jumped across the counter back to the kitchen, allowing Gunita a pause to collect herself and wipe any stray tears. Things were healing here already, she thought. Her long, low exhale shook her aging bones free. Even if it did take years and years. She thumbed some treasure from her purse and rose to leave, but he waved her off. "Oh souvenirs are payment enough this time, Miss Nita! But please take your time here. Are you going to watch Kaiju Wrestling?! Oh, I bet you'd love The Empress, she's so cool. I think Mister Mac is coming by for a hot chocolate and some snacks, and I know you'd love to see him!" The spiral looked at her with comically large kicked-puppy eyes. Gunita had to laugh. The nap, and any plans of leaving, was left forgotten for at least several hours.

... You decide and open the fridge and are surprised but curious what you think and see. .... Good as you had thought, there was a lot of food, a half bar of chocolate, some fruit at most a plate with brigadeiro from last night, but what really surprised you was the countless jars with lids and some bottles of all glasses full of milk? ,
You never think that a fridge could contain so much milk and especially that your love was a big fan of milk, there was even milk in the forms of ice cream, maybe he was saving up to make something,
but it wouldn't hurt you to pick up some bottles as your job is already finished and of course the given task is done,
and more than you deserved to freshen up decidedly you choose a little cup, even cute looking like those of sweet jam but long, it even had an opening to put a straw
pot images https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTFUTQlZF0ckk85eh6XGtTVYPgM5hUPIkk1aA&usqp=CAU )
but without a straw (you have to remember to buy some )
decided you open the lid and take a sip to see the taste as it looks like milk but at the same time it didn't seem like it;
when you enter a little in your mouth you play with the different liquid on your tongue experienced the texture a little tongue and creamy but at the same time tasty and let your taste buds define and get used to the different but interesting taste, a little bitter and savory even more flavorful and refreshing as it goes down your throat and fills your belly, because it's in the fridge and sip after sip whoever saw it seemed like you'd never seen anything to drink, you realize you were dying of thirst even, decided you'd ask the shot where did he buy these different milks they were perfect for hot, cold days or even for some recipes .you were already addicted to taste.
One pot, two bottle when you saw it was already in the third pot when you hear the door open and see your sunbeam enter through it, you don't know how you were so lucky to have a Greek god as a boyfriend he is so sexy in those sweats, however you didn't think the mission would take so long, but the cleaning made you distracted but looking him up and down there's no wound you can see. Less bad you love taking care of your play1 but healing your wounds brings you so much pain you don't like to see. it suffers even though it passes that he doesn't feel so much pain.
S/O: from what I see the mission was successful, you look good love, I was getting worried about the delay.
Tomu: You know your boyfriend is always prepared for the missi..… what's that in your doll hand?.he asks in a curious voice but with a look… predatory, strange for the situation but no less seductive.
Y/O:ohh is this milk? I think.. I found your mini fridge and I saw these bottles and after my chores I was so thirsty, sorry love wasn't it for drinking?, because it tastes wonderful, you need to tell me where to buy these milks and why there's so much here shig ?.you finish your question finished your third bottle, and ready for another if he lets.
TOMU: omg you naughty girl messing with what's not yours but don't worry baby this was supposed to be a surprise to you the bottles are proteins i collected to get you full and satisfied but i'll show you where they are from , since my hurried little kitten doesn't go up wait.
(I hope I didn't let you down and brighten your day more, sorry for the mistakes, if anyone wants to continue feel free, I'm a cockmilk assumed for shig if you have any picture or blog to recommend me with shig content I would love to thank you. Oh and maybe one day I take courage and show up without anonymity , but I 'm always here enjoying your blog and its content 🤩🤩😍😍 )
SMUT⚠️🛑🥛NASTY CUM SCENE
💖💗🧡 loved it. I can see a very horny, Perverted Shigaraki using these jars of "milk" as he slips his cock inside you, enjoying the sight of you gulp down his special 'milk' watching as it dribbles out the corner of your mouth, a delighted grin gracing his face.
He reaches over picking up one of the remaining jars, slowly spilling its contents over your tits. Marveling at how perfect it looks on your skin. Rubbing the white liquid over your breast, groping your soft mounds as he massage his cum over your body. You should feel disgusted at being bathed in semen, but you don't. All you feel is excited, aroused. Wanting more.
"Bend over" he says against your neck. His voice serving only to make you wetter then you are, a shiver races down your spine as you do as your told. The sound of his cock thrusting madly into your slick hole as he mumbles about how pretty you'll look covered in his cum. You can feel more of his thick seed being poured over your ass, dripping down between your cheeks and onto his fat length.
"That's my girl, you love my gift don't you baby girl. My pretty kitten loves her Kings cum doesn't she" his praises make your walls flutter around him, that pleasure build starting in your belly as a tingle quickly spiraling outward as you clamp down on him, drenching his dick. Your cunt is milking his cock like it's starving for his bitter, tangy cum. And he doesn't deprave you of it. He gives one final pump of his hips, you feel him twitch inside you as he floods your pussy.
Suddenly he flips you over so your looking up at him, your eyes glazed over from your sex high, a blissed out smile on your lips.
"One more kitten" he hums as he begins pouring the last jar over your face.
*********
I have lots of Shigaraki recommendations but I will do it in another post tomorrow 🥰

Conspicuous Media Consumption, 2020
it’s that time of year again! *saddest toot from the party horn*
for those of you just joining us: it’s a consume a different content every week for 48 weeks of the year” challenge. for a longer explanation, check out last year’s write-up here, and as always, feel free to pop in and ask questions about any and all of this content.
(same disclaimer as last year too: content for this project ONLY here, and not certain...*looks at my billion Sad Cop Lady posts*...hyperfixations.)
(man remember when i was big into X-Men comics earlier this year? better times than these, if only because no one's discoursing about Emma Frost’s woobie/war criminal ratio anymore--her w/w, if you will)
(...i swear at one point i didn’t exclusively like platinum blondes but alas)
Bitter Root (comic, 1 issue finished 1/1/2020): still very cool on a basic concept level, but runs into the Image Comics problem of just not having enough content to keep my interest beyond that. part of that is on me, for picking it up again BEFORE the second arc rolled out, but the first five issues didn’t really follow (or resolve) any cohesive story either, so...meh.
Immortal Hulk (comic, 3 trades finished 1/17/2020): still not gonna be something i care deeply about (maybe one of Bruce’s Hulksonas dyed his hair???), but i do want to give kudos to Al Ewing for sheer consistency in terms of sustaining this level of quality storytelling month by month for more than two years now. working with the dense archive of the Hulk mythos and managing to make it interesting and thoughtful is impressive even if i personally would not expend the same effort.
Disco Elysium (game, finished 1/18/2020): honestly i should have twigged onto what this year was gonna be like when the third thing i drew from the barrel was pure uncut Eastern European flavored depression. i faintly recall people ragging on it for being pretentiously cynical, but i actually thought its core slid more towards idealism than people give it credit for. also gratified that i haven’t heard anything about Robert Kurvitz using slave labor to finish it, which is a thing we have to say about our video games now!!! fun.
Watchmen (TV, 7 episodes finished 1/27/2020): i am a fool who wants to believe in Damon Lindelof and I WAS RIGHT!!! honestly still cannot believe that he pulled off this highwire act with such deft aplomb. might be my favorite TV this year, which is a pretty high bar given how much TV i ended up watching.
On a Sunbeam (comic, finished 2/1/2020): Tillie Walden rightly deserves all the praise for inventive queer storytelling, but i will say that on reread--since i first read this as a webcomic--there ARE some issues with pacing here that clearly come from the foibles of its original intended medium. still just excellent, even if after some plot significant haircuts i was having trouble telling a few folks apart.
Lazarus (comic, 1 trade finished 2/8/2020): it’s so good and i want moooooorrrreee--though obviously Rucka and Lark have the right to take all the time they need. the newer longer issues work really well with the epic prestige drama vibes of the story! i’m into it.
The Good Place (TV, 4 seasons finished 2/18/2020): i’m gonna be super honest: i actually wasn’t a big fan of the finale, nor the last season as a whole. it felt like all of Eleanor’s flaws vanished for a majority of the season, and the Chidi-centric episode where they tried to give a legible justification for why he’s Like This was...i didn’t care for it. still, it’s so good and unique on the WHOLE that we’ll literally never get anything like this ever again, and that counts for a lot.
The Old Republic (game, finished 2/21/2020): it’s an MMO so it will never actually Be Finished so long as the servers aren’t shut down, but i caught up on the content i’d missed in the intervening months. Onslaught thus far has mostly been...kinda bland tbh; going back to Imps vs. Rebs after all the shakeups in the previous expansions feels like a waste.
High Road (album, finished 2/22/2020): someone should tell Kesha not to say that word!! otherwise i was very happy with this album, and happy FOR her even though we don’t know each other. being able to find joy again in the same genre of music you made while you were being horrifically exploited is very cool.
Young Justice (TV, 13 episodes finished 2/28/2020): given how much the middle stuff dragged--STOP KILLING YOUR HIJABI CHARACTER IN HORRIFIC WAYS--i was...actually kinda mad by how the end managed to stick the landing anyway. the day being saved by Vic’s self-acceptance and Violet’s sublime compassion was A+, and even the Brion/Tara switchup was a pleasant surprise, though it relied on me caring about Brion MUCH MORE than i actually did.
Manic (album, finished 2/29/2020): do people still care for/about Halsey? i feel like even That One Song that was on every tumblr gifset ever has kinda faded into obscurity at this point. this album was...okay. i feel like people give Halsey a pass for extremely obvious lyrical turns that they wouldn’t for other folks because of her subject material--which is fine. not really my cup of tea, but i also listened to lots of Relient K this year, so that’s probably a good thing.
Jade Empire (game, 3/10/2020): the only 3D-era Bioware game that didn’t franchise out, and for good fucking reason!!! the Orientalism and appropriation really haven’t aged well, and even beyond that the story was...standard Bioware faire. even my usual “my wife’s a bitch i love her” Bioware type didn’t do it for me, and i just ended up romancing no one. it did make me think a lot about what level of cultural borrowing is accepted nowadays, and why: people still look fondly at Avatar and talk about how ~accurate and respectful it was, for example, despite it being staffed almost entirely by white folks, and the Orientalism ALL OVER the monk class in DND is still fine for some reason.
Alif the Unseen (book, finished 3/31/2020): interesting to have read this AFTER reading The Bird King last year, because it highlights how the intervening years have shifted G. Willow Wilson’s thematic interest and improved her craft. i’m actually quite fond of how her characterization work is rougher here--Alif is extremely flawed to the point of being insufferable, but it makes his development by the end more satisfying. Dina is also just good and i love her
Baldur’s Gate (2 games, finished 5/31/2020): well, having finally finished the series i’m happy to say that it...still doesn’t really do it for me, sorry. any awesome story moments were overshadowed by the EXCRUCIATING inventory management system and the combat (i still don’t know what a THAC0 is and at this point i’m afraid to find out). these games crucially lack the Home Base that later Bioware games were so good about, and that (coupled with the huge cast of characters you can drop off and never see again) really hurts the intimacy for me. by the time we finally did get one it was the Hell Dimension in Throne of Bhaal, and i was just...trying to get through it. (yes, i did just say that about one of the most beloved expansions ever to one of the most beloved games ever.) THIS particular iteration of “my wife’s a bitch i love her” was very good, but the game wouldn’t let me romance her :(
The Underground Railroad (book, finished 6/19/2020): honestly what is there even left to say at this point! it was exactly as good as every critic on the planet said it was, even with my usual aversion to hype. draining and horrifying in turns but still insistent upon a future for Black folks.
Steven Universe (6 seasons and a mooooooviiieeee, finished 7/11/2020): yes, i DID finish the show and almost immediately begin a rewatch. this series is now one of my top five most formative things, and the amount of love and respect i have for it is incalculable. that said: i once again did not love how the central conflict of Future was resolved (just the resolution--i loved the finale just fine). for all of Steven’s breakdown was built up, resolving it with “EVERYONE HUG HIM UNTIL HE CRIES” felt...cheap, especially since up until this point the show had been so good about treating trauma and mental illness with the respect and nuance it deserves. it made me wish some of the earlier, less substantial episodes had been cut so we could spend more time at the end.
What It Is (comic, finished 8/19/2020): y’all i love Lynda Barry SO MUCH. for the longest time i was worried that One Hundred Demons was more a lightning in a bottle situation but every book of hers i pick up makes me feel obscure emotions i didn’t even realize existed. the compassionate way she’s able to describe her child self and how weird and fucked up she was (and still is) is honestly aspirational.
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (TV, 5 seasons finished 9/26/2020): so here’s a reversal of what i’ve been complaining about with other shows: i was mostly lukewarm-to-warm about She-Ra, but the later seasons and the finale made me much more into it as a whole. more shows should improve in stakes and overall quality as they age tbh!! i still don’t actively love Catradora (my sole quibble with season 5 actually has to do with the way Adora kept backsliding as a character to make certain Plot/Relationship things happen), but i’m very happy for them nonetheless. i can certainly appreciate a show that will go for High Feeling over tight plot. dark horse standout moments: trees growing everywhere proving that Perfuma Was Right, and Hordak and Adora seeing each other--that weirdly intimate moment of recognition.
Fetch the Bolt Cutters (album, finished 10/7/2020): again i find myself not having much to say that no one else has said. it’s good! once again love it when an artist reclaims something they’d attached with negative affect (anxiety, depression, disordered eating) for better and brighter things.
Solutions and Other Problems (comic, finished 10/25/2020): i was very into Allie Brosh’s ambition with this book, which feels weird to say but i stand by it. it’s cool to see an artist try to make a new medium work for them instead of just sticking to what already works. not all the experimentation was 100% effective, but it was still delightful and occasionally devastating to read, so.
Legend of Zelda (3 games: Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Link Between Worlds, finished 11/1/2020): this was the third time i’d played Ocarina of Time, which made it the nice, comforting groove i settled into before Majora’s Mask blatted me in the face. i’m not usually a completionist Zelda person because...the gameplay in Zelda is bad, do not at me it just is, but i really felt like i HAD to be one for Majora’s Mask since the whole point is to get attached to the banalities of the town. i’m sure nobody’s surprised that i loved it, even if it gave me an existential crisis about how life goes on in the game for NPCs when you’re not there to save them from it, and there’s not enough time to save them all all the time (also not a surprise to anyone: Romani and Cremia gave Personal Feelings). Link Between Worlds...bad. not like in a “this is a bad story by every measurable gauge” way, but i was already struggling with the 2D playstyle shift enough that for the whole story to end with some “yes it’s v sad that Lorule is Like This but trying to steal Hyrule’s privilege is Even Worse Actually” noblesse oblige bullshit left a VERY poor taste in my mouth, this year of all years. i did audibly gasp when Ravio took off his mask, though. i’m currently playing Breath of the Wild in cautious increments; it’s the first time i’ve enjoyed early Zelda gameplay, but if they wanted fully voiced cutscenes i wish they got voice actors who...knew what words sound like.
folklore (album, finished 11/6/2020): my belief that Taylor Swift is Just Fine continues, i’m afraid. i LIKED this album, don’t get me wrong, and respect her constant drive to innovate, but i didn’t love it substantially more or less than any other Taylor Swift album. mostly i’m just tickled by how she thinks leaning into the indie aesthetic means borrowing Vita Sackville-West’s entire wardrobe, though i will admit to feeling Something when she swore in a song. i think it was like. savage vindication?? you go ahead and swear, Taylor Swift. you deserve it.
Shore (album, finished 11/19/2020): do people still care about the Fleet Foxes? i think there was some Drama with Josh Tillman a while back but i don’t remember where the discourse landed with who was being more problematic. it was nostalgic for me to listen to their new album--made me remember being an undergrad who exclusively listened to men who mumbled and played acoustic guitar all over again.
Star Wars (3 movies: original trilogy, finished 11/27/2020): there is So Much bad Star Wars these days that every time i rewatch the original trilogy i’m afraid that they will suddenly be bad, but guess what! they’re not. i love these children and their hot mess stories, i love that Lando doesn’t know how to say his best friend’s name. what stood out to me this time was the way Obi-Wan described the Force in A New Hope, which strongly implied that ANYONE can be Force Sensitive; that obviously faded with each subsequent movie, but part of me does wish they’d kept it.
X of Swords (comics, 22 issues finished 12/5/2020): i am enjoying Hickman’s X-lines!!! not so much here for the Grand Conspiracy or whatever, but the character work and highkey weirdness is fabulous--they FEEL like X-Men, despite all the shakeups in-universe. this crossover is a nice microcosm of all that: grandiloquently all over the place, but still full of cool standout moments and genuine hilarity. ILLYANA DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO SPELL MAGIC.
Fire Emblem (4 games: Sacred Stones, Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn, Awakening, finished 12/14/2020): this was the thing that i was closest to giving up early on, but i ended up hyperfixating on it instead. that’s a credit to what the gameplay does to my lizard brain more than anything else, because the story and character writing is...insipid. it was very bizarre to witness this franchise blunder around with its animal-people racism allegory around the same time i was getting back into RWBY, and ITS animal-people racism allegory blunders. Awakening was the first time i felt anything for the franchise beyond “teehee red units disappear make exp bar go up and brain go ding,” so i’m excited for more mature storytelling in subsequent games (they MUST get better. they MUST). the child husbandry thing is...very bad tho, and Apotheosis being “challenging” entirely through the game changing all the rules is also bad.
once again no vidya games that came out this year--i’ll probably pick up Spiritfarer or Hades after the New Year, though (or maybe TLOU II! but probably not. sry Laura and Ashley). more TV and franchises this year, which made me feel In Touch with the Children but was also kinda exhausting. nothing was so egregiously terrible i dropped it without finishing! in a year like this that feels almost like an accomplishment

FEEDBACK LOOP #1: Armand Hammer’s “Flavor Flav”
What are the Black purposes of space travel?
—Amiri Baraka, “Technology & Ethos”
Black futurism is a temporally troubled matrix Black futurism is a temporally troubled matrix that thrives on opposites and oppositions, flowing lines and nonlinearity, conflict resolution and asymmetrical warfare. It prefers the mad dash on shifting sands while in pursuit of higher ground and safe havens.
—Greg Tate, “Kalahari Hopscotch, or Notes Toward a 20 Volume History of Black Science and Afrofuturism”
Welcome aboard our spaceship, it’s so nice to have you here. —Newcleus, “Space is the Place”
Who, constructing the house of himself or herself, not for a day but for all times, sees races, eras, dates, generations, The past, the future, dwelling there, like space, inseparable together. —Walt Whitman
I’m so tired of being forced to promote the myth of white supremacy by performing works by old white men like Whitman who said blacks...didn’t have a place in the future of America. —Timothy McNair
Today is the shadow of tomorrow, today is the future present of yesterday, yesterday is the shadow of today. —Sun Ra, “Secrets of the Sun”
This highly allusive track from billy woods and ELUCID toys with itself—that is, allusions are a figurative means of collapsing time in and of themselves. Past and present history & culture don’t contend so much as support one another. A set of stilts to do the Dance of Death on, if you will. “Start downhill running.” The Seventh Seal hilltop silhouette danse macabre steez, though. The whooshing, metal-creaking beat—with all its haunted psithurism charm—is the backdrop for this sleeper Shrines track.
The name “Flavor Flav” is used metonymically here to mean time. This isn’t a braggadocio, low-key threat in the spirit of OC’s “Time’s Up.” This isn’t a Grandmaster Flashian “You Know What Time It Is” (though the hands on the clock tower do spin clockwise and counter-). Neither is this a Kool Moe Dee-esque rhetorical “Do You Know What Time It Is?” Armand Hammer are frustrated by time, by the “ideals and dreams that don’t work.” woods laments his “time machine [that] don’t go backwards.” This no-good lemon of a H.G. Wells contraption he’s steering. This isn’t some Christopher Lloyd-cum-El-Producto Delorean. There’s no Great Scotting going on, just stubbornness.
Progress isn’t made. Time stagnates. Like the “list of ill-fated quick licks under ’frigerator magnets.” And that “school trip permission slip”—likely a bus ride to a museum: a carefully curated collection of artifacts, most notable for its colonial muscling. The question remains: What is left out? What is excluded? What is ignored, discarded, or co-opted so as to not withstand the test of time? woods’ short-i assonance speeds the delivery up only to slow it down:
list | ill | quick | licks | ’frig | nets | trip | mis | slip | lick | split | skin | spliff
billy woods, son of a revolutionary, redefines Afrofuturism (re-re-re-defines—its brilliance is in how it remakes itself unconditionally). Afrofuturism becomes about birthing the next generation of Black revolutionaries, so he subverts the line and expectations when “big hand captured” refers to the clock, but “little man [not hand] chasin’” refers to a youngin. (Try to keep up.) Put the faith in the youth when our “ideals and dreams” stall out—when the days, months, years are fleeting and forceful (“It do tick faster / The hour coming rough”). The spliff that’s “[skinned] like an onion” turns the cypher into Perrault fairy tale “pumpkin,” Cinderella style.
“Don’t come ’round with that ‘Go slow’” is in conversation with Nina Simone’s “Mississippi Goddam,” of course. It’s Nina who said “[she] can’t stand the pressure much longer,” who objected to those who “keep on saying ‘Go slow,” who had her band ironically chanting Do it slow. billy woods, like Nina Simone, decries reformism, incrementalism. Don’t do things gradually. We’re at the point where Nina stands up from her piano bench and shouts That’s it!
Forego the telephoto lenses, he insists, this is the “Battle of Algiers with the GoPro.” Urban guerrilla warfare uploaded and disseminated via YouTube. Again, time collapses. The struggle to decolonize continues. Watch for the This video is no longer available dead-end.
billy woods’ Nietzschean “loathing and fear” reverses the hallucinogenic time-warp of Thompson’s (and, in filmic relation, Gilliam’s) Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. “History is hard to know,” Thompson writes, “because of all the hired bullshit, but even without being sure of ‘history’ it seems entirely reasonable to think that every now and then the energy of a whole generation comes to a head in a long fine flash.” That flash will reappear in ELUCID’s verse.
If “all roads lead to Rome,” we’re settling into the inevitability of our moves. It’s a fatalistic shrug, but homophonically, all roads lead to roam—that is, the journey is prolonged interminably. It’s nomadic. Much static. So, naturally, you’re going to “[shake] the hourglass like a snowglobe,” distort time, and splurge on the “JC Penny Timex,” which is appropriately “flooded with rhinestones.” Flooded, because no more water: the fire next time. Don’t “lose track” and don’t “get trapped in the future.”
The chorus quotes the Rolling Stones’ “Time is On My Side,” but it ain’t that simple, no. The history is as messy as we’ve come to expect amerikan music to be. “Time is On My Side” was originally penned by Norman Meade (Jerry Ragovoy), and trombonist Kai Winding first recorded it. Jimmy Norman, a Black songwriter, fleshed out the lyrics significantly, and Irma Thomas recorded that version in the same year as the Stones. The song followed a path similar to that of “Strange Fruit”—a composition written by a white Jewish man under a pseudonym (Abel Meeropol as Lewis Allan) but popularized by a Black female jazz singer (Billie Holiday). As author Jess Row has said about jazz—hip-hop applies, too—it is “by its very nature multi-racial, intermingled, and collaborative across color lines.” But this cognizance must always be contextualized with views of Black artists like that of Art Blakey: “the only way the Caucasian musician can swing is from a rope.” Hip-hop has always had its Paul Cs and Rick Rubins, but the racial heterogeneity of a genre, or even a single recording, can’t cloak the power dynamics still in play. The Stones’ version of “Time is On My Side”—undoubtedly the most popular version—is a rip-off of Irma Thomas’ version. Mick Jagger even jacks Thomas’ ad-libs, which is to say, her rawness and spontaneity. Even the band’s shadowed faces on the cover of 12 x 5, the album on which the track appears, suggest the racial problematics, the minstrelsy heist. Armand Hammer mock the British Invasion blues filchers by adding “they” to the chorus line: “They said time is on my side.” They being white institutions (especially within music publishing, production, and recording industries) who promised enough airtime for everyone. They who urged patience. (Go slow!) But, as history shows, the profits only lined certain pockets.
ELUCID begins at the “golden hour,” which is both the photogenic beauty of the sky after sunrise and before sunset—a beauty too good to behold. It’s the sun glare shining in your face on the winter commute from work. It’s your high-speed accident and then the golden hour is the paramedics and doctors trying to salvage your corporeal existence. ELUCID’s verse is a hypnagogic jerk, gasping for breath as he takes a “portal to Orangeburg, ’68.” It’s a reference to the campus shooting of young people in protest—South Carolina State University. Unlike Kent State, which came afterwards, Orangeburg didn’t get the attention keening white women in Pulitzer Prize-winning photographs do, despite “live ammunition,” three dead, 28 injured, and “nine acquitted assassins.” Unnoticed. Black invisibility. Not that H.G. Wells type of invisibility—the Ralph Ellison kind.
We’re told what this is: it’s the aggregate stress (“the load of the allostatic”) of Black life. It’s one’s personal Extinction Agenda, the “post-traumatic” of the gunfire “flashes” that double as flashbacks. The pain, stress, the brain that can’t rest, the pressure on the chest.
“The center won’t hold” lets us know this isn’t all PTSD reverie—it’s a rebel poem: surely some revolution is at hand. ELUCID channels Achebe channeling Yeats. Things might fall apart but not without struggle. The “Flavor Flav clock spins centrifugal,” as a gyre, as an apocalyptic (91…) voice. Turning and returning. The words have an air of insurrection, proclamation.
He misses “watching how a flat circle fold”—it won’t budge, won’t wrinkle. We’ve been here before: on “Hunter,” on Paraffin, when billy woods was on that “time is a flat circle” shit. That Nietzsche eternal recurrence shit:
What, if some day or night a demon were to steal after you into your loneliest loneliness and say to you: “This life as you now live it and have lived it, you will have to live once more and innumerable times more; and there will be nothing new in it, but every pain…will return to you. […] The eternal hourglass of existence is turned upside down again and again, and you with it, speck of dust!
“Can you find the level of difficulty in this?” suggests game playing, arcades. Calls to mind more Walter Benjamin’s Arcades, though. billy woods and ELUCID are gleaners and magpies of cultural cadavers in Benjamin’s way. Their bars are play and critique both. We’re left with a modicum of optimism at the song’s end. Even “only [moving] the pen six inches” is something, is struggle. The “pale faces beyond the fire” are ever-present, though. The “flinching, panic, [and] confusion” are committed to continue.
Is it the fool or the insurgent who thinks time is on their side? We want the life we live to be “more brilliant than a sunbeam.” That’s to say, we don’t want to wait for the golden hour or the golden years. We want what they say we can’t have. We want what they say we shouldn’t imagine. But Armand Hammer helps us take solace in the “drum skin stretched”—the rhythm, the rebel. The oft-quoted Douglass gem, If there is no struggle, there is no progress, is played out for a reason. The reason is because it needs to be played again, and again. Like a mantra, like a song.

Reviews 198: Lucas Croon
The newest release from Themes for Great Cities is Ascona and comes from a longtime contributor to the label, Lucas Croon. It’s hard to overstate how much I like Lucas’ sound, especially his incredibly adventurous band Stabil Elite (whose 2012 album Douze Pouze is one of my favorites as well as perhaps one of the best post-70’s krautrock-style albums ever created). And though he has put out a lot of great and exploratory music through that band and his BAR project with Christina Irrgang, he’s been far less prolific as a solo artist, having prior to Ascona only released the Schlachthof Aufnahmen EP. In contrast to the delirious downtempo, feverish ambient, and exotic psychedelia of that record, this newest one has its mind on the cosmic, especially the A-side and its euphoria dreamscapes and spaced out dancefloor journeys. The B-side, though still suffused with interstellar energy, heads more towards paradise beaches and deep ocean dreamscapes, as atmospheres of sun-soaked balearica intermingle with crystalline waves of fantasy dub. And though it’s all so gliding and spaced out (thanks in no small part of fellow Stabil Elite member Timo Hein’s bass guitar work), the arrangements and movements are rather complex, with each track morphing and mutating seamlessly through a range of far-out soundworlds.
Lucas Croon - Ascona (Themes for Great Cities, 2018) “Ascona” comes to life on breaky kicks and tropical hand drums, with pads wavering in the air and shakers moving all around. Percolating pan-pipe melodies overlay a seaside rhythm world led by softly hissing hi-hats and cosmic sparkles and eventually, swelling pad vapors bring in a massive bassline, which jacks things out into realms of pure propulsion in that Clifford White “Lifestream” kind of way. The cymbals swing hypnotically over soaring kick patterns and pull the body into the galactic flow as epic melodies of synthesized fire dance polyrhythmically against the sprightly pan-pipes. Immersive balearic strings create an oceanic dreamscape under the stars as the bass cuts away, while gated tom fills blast through the mix. And once the basslines smash back in, it’s all so hypnotic and energetic, especially as the song has somehow managed to effortlessly transition from spaced out electro into cosmic disco. The paradise rhythm glide is colored over by darting strings and melodies of interstellar heartache…like dreamwaves gliding on shooting stars and cruising the cosmos on clouds of rainbow gas while funk-echo percolations dance through an alien jungle of neon frogs and laser light reflections.
“Ethnxman” follows with double and triple time hi-hats flowing alongside tribal tom cascades and dark sensuous house beats. Heatwave pads swell and wash over the mind before locking into breathy pulsations as distorted loon songs, squiggling electronics, and acidic blips dance through the stereo field. Timo Hein’s sultry basslines hold down exotica grooves…dark, enchanting, and jamming out through a jungle of dreams while muted synth riffs and forest flutes bubble over tropical and mist shrouded string orchestrations. Hand drums glide and radiant drone textures break like waves of an interstellar ocean while gaseous acid textures are smeared into a psychedelic haze…their extreme resonances and spellbinding filter movements shimmering in the sky as the kick drums pull away and as aching strings swell then detune. When the kick drum returns, it leads a ritualistic dance of low slung bass guitar incantations and immersive rhythm webs that vibrate beneath muted birdcalls and swinging synth-flute leads. And as crazed lasers fire throughout the mix, dramatic snare rolls bring in epic vibes of classic space disco…with resonant Hi-NRG blasts riding alongside hypno-hats while cosmic layers of dance floor magic intertwine. Fantasy synths and rainforest woodwinds float on mellifluous pad orchestrations as they move through cascades of distortion and rapid fire modulations and at the end of the track, squelching percussive fx, looping bird conversations, and chiming synth metals give way to a panorama of hand drums, space forest atmospherics, and four-four kicks.
The stuttering kick drums of “Nachtcafé” are surrounded by equatorial conga and bongo clouds, while breathy pan-pipes drift aside bright mediterranean synth melodies that seem to skip across crystal blue waves. Fiery and funked out synthbass lines chug upwards as shakers, maracas, and tambourines give flavors of Latin fantasy, the track eventually developing into a low down samba shake through a starry paradise. The hand drums grow ever more colorful and active as they weave ritualistic polyrhythms while sweltering brass textures blast behind the island dream melodies and cutting snare rolls flash in from other dimensions. At some point the bright tonal atmosphere recede, leaving kaleidoscopic drum layers to work themselves into a tropical disco pulse that supports Timo’s snaking bass sorcery. The rhythm section jams out beneath harmonious layers of ambiance…like a slowly morphing body of golden light emanating phasercloud euphoria until Lucas moves us into a wondrous fusion solo, all blazing yet gentle synthwaves soaring through the stars and backed by softly fried oscillations (think Yuji Toriyama). As we cruise towards the end, the track drops into a percussive section where the basslines bounce and snake through a fever dream. And as the hand drums vibrate mesmerically, cinematic reggae stabs intertwine with echo-blasts of strings and brass while squelching bass synths work against Timo’s liquid funkchug riffs.
The sunshine dub vibes hit even hard with “S.W.E.D,” which comes across like a slow motion skank on the surface of a boundless sea. Sickly sweet organ tones skip above scatting aqua-riffs and hypnotic riddim worlds, while the smooth funk bass fluids intermingle with spaced out acid squelches. Beautiful delay cascades surround the mix in that Rhythm & Sound kind of way, while sonics tracers ride echowaves towards the horizon. And the track transitions even further into the light as dreamy paradise guitar licks, hazy brass synths, and tropical fx flutters dance together on sunbeams. Once we return to the melancholic dub sway, wailing organs rain down for another solar dance before giving way to an extended section of deep drum and bass ritualism and dub delay hypnotism, wherein bouncing audial layers float on cosmic currents as everything seems to oscillate and time-morph. Then the track blasts once more through a euphoric landscape of glowing reggae enchantment where guitars dance barefoot in the sand while alien brass synths stab out over laid back yet vibrant beat flows. It then ends with an extended sunshine dance through a world of ecstatic visions, as blissed out melodics evoke laughter and light...the whole thing evoking some sort of soundtrack for an eternal beachside party. And once the uplifting dub dance magic fades away, rainforest field recordings entrance the mind back to earthly realms.

Coffee Tips - How to Make a Perfect Cup of Coffee
There are many different ways to make a good cup of coffee at home. While a few methods are more convenient than others, such as using a drip filter coffee machine, some coffee connoisseurs swear by older, tried and true methods to make the perfect cup.
Drip Filter Coffee
Most Americans are familiar with this method of coffee brewing since it has become increasingly popular thanks to its relative ease of use. Brewing coffee with a filter coffee pot can be as simple as filling the pot's water reservoir to the correct level, placing a correctly sized coffee filter in the chamber, scooping in some ground coffee beans and pressing the machine's "On" button.
In order to get set up to use this method, the coffee drinker simply has to buy a filter coffee machine (they are sold according to how many cups of coffee they make in one go). The boxed sets will describe what kind of filters to purchase, typically either cone-shaped filters or basket filters, and what size to get them in. The only other necessary ingredients to start making coffee are pre-ground coffee beans.
Stove Top Coffee
This method of brewing coffee is slightly more involved and takes a little longer than using a drip filter machine. Percolators are made from metal and come in two slightly cone-shaped pieces that hold a basket between them. To use, one simply has to fill the bottom piece with water, place on a hot stove top, and wait for the steam to rise through the coffee basket holding the ground beans, capturing the coffee flavor, before being caught in the top section.
Many coffee purists comment that this method of at-home coffee making is the one that comes closest to a full professional espresso machine in regards to taste and overall coffee quality.
French Press
True coffee lovers swear by the French press method. A French press is usually a cylindrical, glass cup that has a fine mesh basket that can move up and down through the container. In some coffee drinking countries such as Australia, it is also known as a Coffee Plunger. The coffee grounds are placed under the basket and hot water (not boiling) is poured in, after waiting for the coffee ground to steep, the wire basket strainer is pushed slowly down to trap the grounds at the bottom of the container before the coffee is poured to be consumed.
While this method takes the longest and yields the least amount of volume per go, it is typically suggested for individuals who want to cherish their cup of coffee instead of having just another cup to start their mornings.
Espresso Machine
There was a time when owning an espresso machine at home was considered out of the realms of the average at-home coffee drinker. Today this is no longer so, due to mass production of espresso machines from several of the large espresso manufacturers (DeLonghi, Nespresso, Krups, Sunbeam, Breville).
These machines are now highly affordable, starting at the $200 price point. If you stick to one of the reputable brand name machines, you should expect a machine that can produce a minimum of 15 Bar pressure - this will result in a very good cup of coffee each and every time.
It can, however, take some time to master the Espresso machine. To this end, it can, therefore, be beneficial to consider taking a professional barista/espresso making the course. These are typically offered over a weekend or during weekday evenings. These courses are geared specifically at the domestic espresso machine owner. Price for these courses is also reasonable, with most averaging around $200 for a single 1-day course. Though certainly not a necessity, attending such a course will ensure that your getting the very most out of your espresso machine, and will almost certainly guarantee that your at-home espresso making is of a cafe standard each and every time.
Coffee Making quality control
Regardless of the method, you choose there are some ways to make sure that each cup is as good as possible. Keeping the coffee beans frozen when they are not being used can help to preserve a stronger flavor. Also, flushing the coffee makers every now and then by running them as you normally would but without including filters or coffee grounds can help to keep each cup of coffee tasting the same.

Making a move
Words: 1111 A/N: OMG! This was sooo hard to right because i couldn’t find a perfect view, so i really hope you like this one!
Jace looked at you from a distance. You, Jace, Izzy, Alec, Magnus, Clary and Simon were all taking a walk in the park, enjoying the sun because you weren’t able to do this very often. Jace was mesmerized by how your hair floated in the wind, how your eyes changed color by the sunbeams, how you giggled at Alec almost stumbled over his own feet and Magnus catching him before he hit the ground. Jace felt like he could watch you forever, just how calm and beautiful you were.
“What is up with you, loverboooooy?” Isabelle grabbed Jace’s shoulders, and jumped onto his back. “Got an eye on Y/N?” Jace let out a puff, and kept walking, ignoring Izzy as if she weren’t there. Clary and Simon were fooling around, leading the group when they suddenly ran towards the swing set. You, Alec and Magnus were slowly walking on. You turned around for a second and smiled towards Jace and Isabelle. “We should a packed a picnic” You turned towards Alec and Magnus again. “Get down Izzy.” Jace quickly shook Isabelle off his back. “What is going on with you, Jace?” Isabelle bumped Jace with her shoulder. “Nothing is going on with me?” Jace looked at Isabelle and Isabelle looked at you. You were discussing the picnic trip with Magnus, and shortly after Magnus was carrying a basket in his hand. You jumped a little and clap your hands. “Should we sit here? Near the playground so Simon and Clary can run off as soon as they are done eating?” You laughed and pointed to the spot you sufficed. “Looks like a good spot to me!” Magnus smiled and you all sat down at the lawn. Clary and Simon kept playing on the swing but gave you a sign that they would be there in a few minutes. You laid down in the grass, and enjoyed the sunbeams caressing your skin. Your eyes meet Jace’s, and you sent him a smile, which he hesitantly returned. Jace looked back at Alec and started a conversation with him. You let out a sigh, he truly looked like an angel sitting in the sun. You sat up looking at Isabella, who sat opposite of you. She kept looking alternately at you and Jace, like she knew you had a thing for him.
You had all just finished eating when Isabelle sufficed that she and Jace could go and buy some ice cream for all of you. Jace and Isabelle stood up, and walked towards the ice booth in the other end of the park. “Jace, why haven’t you made a move on Y/N yet?” Jace sent Isabelle a stern look. “Because I don’t want it to be all awkward if Y/N doesn’t feel the same way, plus I like just to admire.” Isabelle and Jace stopped in front of the ice both, and bought a few boxes with a bit of every flavor. Isabelle looked deep in mind when they walked back. “So what if anybody else made a move on Y/N? What would you do?” Jace closed his eyes in frustration, he thought the discussion was over. “I don’t know Isabelle, I’ll see if it happens.” Isabelle looked at Jace. “No Jace, when it happens.”
You sat at Magnus’s club in the VIP lounge with Magnus and Alec, waiting for the others to show up. Your relationship with Magnus was really good, he was like an uncle even though your best friend was his boyfriend. “Hey!!” Isabelle came dancing in the lounge and kiss you on your cheek. “Hello...” Jace went behind her a little less energy than Izzy. You smiled at Isabelle and Jace before you leaned back, Magnus put his arm around your shoulders and his other arm around Alec’s. You laid you head on Magnus shoulder. “I’m really tired actually. I’m thinking about going home.” Isabelle quickly stood up and pulled you out on the dancefloor. “I have someone you should meet!” You looked pleading at the guys in the lounge but Alec and Magnus just laughed at you while Jace sat there with a frown on his face.
“So Y/N this is Stormy…” Stormy smiled at you “I’m a Seelie for you information.” You sat down at the bar, and ordered a glass of water. “I could see that, not many have shadowhunters, vampires or warlocks have flowers on their cheeks.” You both let out a little laugh. “So I have a confession to make. I have seen you here a couple of times, but never had the courage talk to you. So you know Isabelle is on and off with Meliorn, so I asked her to help me…” You looked at Stormy and a smile came onto your face. “That is really cute actually…” unaware of it you let you hand travel down from Stormy’s shoulder and down his arm.
Jace was watching you from afar. “Why would you set Y/N up?” Isabelle sat down beside Jace and smiled proudly of her achievement. “So you can make a move, you idiot!” Jace starred sulky at Isabelle. Isabelle looked shortly at Jace when she started to look at Y/N and Stormy. “Ohh… look Y/N is flirting with Stormy! Y/N is making a move, come on Jace.” Jace just looked at you, was it worth it? What if you didn’t like him? Could he imagine himself growing old with you? Could he imagine you growing old with that Seelie? Jace stood up, looked shortly at Isabelle. “I don’t wanna hear a sound from you!” Jace wandered up to the bar with determined steps. Jace grabbed your arm, and nodded to Stormy. “Y/N, I need to talk to you.” You stumbled down the chair, and followed Jace outside. “What’s up, Jace?” Jace laid his hands on your shoulders, he took a deep breath. “I think I like you… no I know I like you. A lot. Like…” “Like so much that wherever you go, I can’t stop starring at you.” A smile showed on both faces. “Yeah…” Jace’s hand glided down your arms. You looked tiredly at Jace. “So I wanted to ask if you could ask me on a date. But I’ too tired from earlier today, so maybe you could follow me to my bedroom door and kiss me goodnight instead?” Jace let out a laugh, and put his arm around your shoulders. “Sure, then I’ll ask you out tomorrow.” You laid your arm around Jace´s back, and leaned into him. “Yeah, sounds like a good idea. But you have to call me back!” Jace laughed and kissed the top of your head “Not sure I can promise anything…”

Butter and Cinnamon
@jollyroger-fr @hellkite-fr @fr-owlistuff @puffins-and-bears @ianlestraud-fr @starongie @jadedragons @fr-mar
This story arc takes place concurrently to the main House of Alnilam lore, and will introduce Amaretto, Reverie, and Valentine! Read the rest of my lore here.
The taproom of the inn was deserted, dust motes drifting in the long beams of morning sunlight that streaked across the weathered planks of the floor. A few birds were chirping in the trees outside. Reverie sat down at the bar and rested his forehead against the rough wood, eyes drooping shut as his wire glasses slipped off his nose.
It had been a long night, but he had managed to chart out another section of the dreamscape. A demon had begun stalking him as he tried to navigate a particularly distorted part of the terrain, and he had barely been able to return to his own dream and awaken.
“Good mornin’ to you,” said a cheery voice, and the Nocturne sat up and pushed his glasses back up his nose. There was a young Tundra standing in front of him, looking far too young to be working in this backwater inn. She had violet eyes as dark as blackcurrant jam, and she was smiling at him as though she had known him forever.
“I didn’t- I didn’t order anything,” he said as he noticed she was holding a tray with a coffeepot and a crumbly cinnamon cake. With a laugh, the girl put the tray down in front of him.
“It’s on the house, thought ya might need it,” she grinned. “It’s my own recipe, but if it’s not to your taste I can bring straight black.”
Reverie poured himself a steaming mug, smelling something like cinnamon mingled with the dark, bitter smell of coffee. He took a sip and raised his eyebrows, savoring the rich and slightly sweet flavor of the drink. “What’s in it?” he asked.
“Butter an’ cinnamon. I figured you looked like the cinnamon type.”
“I love cinnamon,” said Reverie, surprised. He took another long drink of coffee, the buttery taste slightly reminiscent of cookies that he had eaten in a lovely town many moons before. The cake was cinnamon as well, soft and light and just a little crisp at the edges, and he sat up straighter as he ate. “Thank you,” he added sincerely. “What’s your name?”
“Amaretto,” the Tundra replied brightly. She leaned over on the counter and nodded at the glowing runes just barely visible beneath his sleeves. “So from the looks of you I reckon you’re some sort of mage, or maybe a scholar.”
Reverie nodded slowly as he took another sip of coffee. “A...cartographer, of sorts. You could call me a mage.”
“Where ya travelling to?”
“Anywhere,” Reverie said with a slight shrug. “But tell me something about yourself. Aren’t you a little young to be working in an inn?”
“My parents packed me off soon as I was old enough to leave the nest,” replied Amaretto. Her smile never wavered, still radiant and twinkling. “It’s always been my dream to start up my own little bakery, an’ I’ve been working jobs to collect the treasure. Think I have just about enough now.”
Her eyes flashed and she straightened up, looking as though she had suddenly been struck by an idea. “You wouldn’t mind me travelling wit’ you for a bit, would ya? I need to look for a nice town to set up shop in.”
“The road is no place for a girl your age,” said Reverie doubtfully, but he wavered as he looked at Amaretto’s eager face. “A few days hence I heard of a town, not too small, on the edge of a forest. The travelers in the inn I stayed at said that the apothecary had closed down, and I do suspect that the storefront will still be available.”
“Oh, thank you!” beamed Amaretto, straightening up. “I’ll go there at once an’ see!” She looked very small and soft and young to be on the road alone, and Reverie sighed.
“I should accompany you,” he said. “You should not be out on your own.”
Amaretto pursed her lips. “I’ve been on my own a few years now, and nothing bad’s ever happened. An’ you’re on your way northward, I reckon, I wouldn’t want you going out of your way for me.”
“As I said,” Reverie told her mildly as he got to his feet, “I have no real destination, and the Sunbeam Ruins are as pleasant a place to pass my time as any.”
“Thank you! I can leave soon as I talk to the innkeep, she knows I’m only working here part-time, an’ I can gather up my things-”
Pouring himself another cup of buttery coffee, Reverie closed his eyes and began to sip at the warm mug. The bulk of his work was done in his sleep in any case, so there was no real reason not to escort this young dragon to town. And she did make good coffee.
