the amount of math i put into figuring out my PTO is honestly so funny. i've probably spent like 2 hours this week and last week just playing with the leave calculator spreadsheet my coworker gave me. this morning i added a sheet for 2026 so now i'm calculating my PTO out that far. i basically already have a plan of how i'm taking time off for 2025 so as to maximize my time off in 2026. i dont think this is a normal level of attention to detail but at least i'm having fun

his net worth (together with his wife) is only $330,000.

the median net worth of politicians in congress is just over $1 million.

you will never find a politician who agrees with you on everything. and you will unfortunately never find a politician with a clean slate. but tim walz is not the guy y’all are painting him out to be.

go vote in november, guys. as far as politicians go, Harris/Walz are pretty fucking good.

Not to be a debbie downer but Tim Walz was in the military for 24 years, including during the Iraq war. He called the national guard on protestors following the George Floyd murder. He supports Israel. He's approved an oil pipeline across indigenous lands that break treaties.

I love artists that make you *feel* what they're feeling, and both Aurora and Anna Lapwood experience so much joy in their music that it's infectious.

This is a live recording from Anna Lapwood's seat at the organ about 4:00 into the song. Her laugh just absolutely delights me.

The really cool thing about this concert for me is that social media allows us not only to see parts of it, but to see *different* parts of it.

And this will haunt me for literally the rest of my life.

I've heard a lot of her music before, and I've followed Anna Lapwood for awhile, and I've of course heard this song before. But I was recently having a conversation with one of my friends about joy. And how genuine, excited joy is somehow seen as something that needs to be tamped down and restrained and suffocated.

I've never understood this, and when I see people who are this joyful about what they create, I really wonder how anyone can act like joy isn't the very best thing that humanity can experience.

I don't watch a lot of live music, so I found the initial video I saw by accident, and I'm so glad that I did. Because their joy brought me joy, and I hope it brings it to everybody else too.

And, I mean, even that aside, this is one of the most unbelievable performances from anybody that I've ever seen.

this year's prompts were chosen through an open suggestion poll (in which we received over 4,000 prompts) and a subsequent vote, where 5,019 votes were submitted. the top 28 make up the core prompts, and the febuwhump mod's favourites that remain have become the alternates. the first prompt in the 28, "vocal chords", was our number one prompt of the vote, with 1,625 total votes.

i am so insanely excited to see what you all create with these prompts, and i hope they're inspiring enough to trigger a whole month's worth of creativity for you!

as an extra added challenge, some creators will be undertaking another, smaller goal, of including apples in each of their prompt fills as an ode to the wildly popular prompt suggestion of "apples" that didn't make it through to the poll. this is totally optional, but is a good extra challenge if you'd like to take part in it!
