finally went and got my GED diploma a year after i graduated :)))))

#the check in woman was like 'come on you cant leave without saying bye first!' and iwas like nonononono please no #she made me go talk to the woman who single handedly delayed my graduated by 6 months.#who is annoying as fuck and super classist and pro college.#when she asked what i do for work i was like 'an educator' and she was like 'oh so you've used the free college credits to get your early #childhood education?' and i was like 'uhhh no. still just as against college as i was last year. i don't plan to be an educator for long.'#and she goes well what do you want to do (not your fucking business lady. at all.) and then when i said 'anything' bc real people don't hav #the choice of their dream job or nothing. real people have to just take whatever is available to them--esp in our dead town.#and she was like 'oh come on in during the summer! I’m so glad she is completely unphased by the accident, not afraid of being in the car even a lil! Tbh I think the crash was an overall positive experience for her because she got to get out and make a lot of human friends (she was comforting the other drivers who were distraught 😭) 😂

That one poll reminded me of how one time in high school one Ms. Pease saw me quietly listening to my ipod in the hallway waiting for my next class and she just ripped it out of my hands. And I was staring in pure dumb shock for like 30 seconds and she was like "are you coming or not." She then proceeded to explain, once we walked the whole fucking school to her shitty little office she shared with 15 other people, that ipods aren't allowed in hallways. Which was news to me on account of everyone had them or cd players. She was known for being horrible for no reason but damn. I wish it was her who got arrested for cocaine

#it was a Spanish teacher. and not even the one I had whom everyone immediately suspected #let this be your sign that if you hate high school kids don't be a teacher #that was my one and only interaction with her miserable ass and I literally hope she died horribly years and years ago #a history teacher who caught me smoking once was sympathetic about my stolen ipod and helped me get it back and she was a literal angel #more of her and less of Pease in the world #people used to joke about the language department's food based names. Like Mr. Crabb and Ms Pease and Mr. Kofi #Mr. Kofi was a native French speaker from Cote D'ivoire. he was my French teacher and he was awesome. And they pronounced his name wrong #I was lucky I got him. We also had a teacher who taught French and Latin and spoke both with the strongest British accent ever #not to disrespect her or anything. She let us watch Gladiator in class. And I told her after like 3 weeks of class I finished the book #and she said ok here's the next one. if you get through that you can move up a whole year and go from Latin 1 to Latin 3/4 #after winter break. and I did do just that and I got the best grades in Latin 3/4 too #at Latin day I was a junior so I didn't get picked for the kartamen team (sp?)#and they lost first round #meanwhile I took multiple choice exams all day. My favorite. and I got 1st 2nd or 3rd place for every single one #so I literally won 10 awards all my myself at Latin Day. Just by taking multiple choice tests. they must have felt so stupid #I received those awards onstage at school the same day I got like 3 or 4 medals for the National Latin exam and the state exam #and the mythology exam #so I went home with like 15 awards that day so fuck you everyone who didn't want a junior on the kartamen team. Can’t wait for my drivers license to arrive so I can be driving legally again for the first time in 1.5 years!

#for legal reasons this is a joke #SO THIS IS WHATS UP #as a youngin #a young adult one might say #I was starting to learn that some systems are bullshit when I’d previously been a pretty big rule-follower #my mom showing me how to navigate the healthcare system a bit/showing me how student loans legit have practices to confuse and fuck us over #also im really bad at getting things in on time (this is an important fact)#so when I see that my drivers license is abt to expire. I’m like ‘Oup gotta get that done!’ then promptly forget abt it #next time I remember it’s 3 months expired.#I check the date and realize that wait! in a year imma be turning 21 and just one yr after that Real ID’s will become mandatory (im p sure)#so I decide to push off renewing my license! I think that the whole process will b annoying asf bc I’ve only dealt with the DMV in-person #and it SUCKED and took forever. I’m thinking that if I renew my drivers license right on/after my 21st birthday I can knock out two birds #with one stone: I can get it as a Real ID and I can get an updated picture that’s flipped sideways so getting age-checked is faster #little do i know: it’s v much illegal to be driving around with an expired license!#I drive around for a year (over a year? I don’t remember when I first realized it was expired) j having fun #then one month b4 my 21st birthday I get into an abroad study thing and have to get my passport. which I realize is also expired. and #realize that to renew my passport I have to have a valid drivers license. At this point I also realize how fucked I could be if I get pulled #over with my expired license. so I check out the process for DL renewal and rejoice! it’s online!#AND THANK FUCK I CHECKED THEN. bc if I had waited LITERALLY two more days I would not have been able to renew online and would’ve had to go #in-person. and there were no in-person appointments until after my 21st. and I learned in this process abt the fines my state applies when u #renew a DL late and ALSO that u have to entirely retake the test/redo all the paperwork shit if it’s expired for too long. I would’ve had to #retake the test n everything if I’d gone past my bday. I was also in another state for college. idk how incoherent these ramblings are but #basically I would’ve been Ultra Fucked. anyways! got that figured out #renewed the DL and had it sent to my home. then da house floods and crime goes up in the neighborhood and my DL ends up either being lost #Or tossed (with other flood-damaged things) or stolen.#I don’t realize this for 4 months bc I am silly. also in college out-of-state. also other reasons.#finally got around to calling DMV and telling them that my DL never arrived… 6 months after I renewed it!#and they were v sweet and are resending me my DL for free. so in the next few weeks I shall finally b driving legally again #!!!! the end #mypost

i feel so pathetic for not being able to write a 500-1000 words essay when i had an entire weekend bc i can't do anything when i get too overwhelmed from stress and now i'm considering begging for an extension until wednesday u_u

#in my defense every professor decided it's a good idea to plan all their tests in one week so now i've got 4 coming up #2 of which are going to be on the same day which is lovely #and technically this professor won't check all the essays at once #he'll check half tomorrow and the other half on wednesday #so it shouldn't be a big deal to ask to be given a little more time until wednesday especially since it's just a first draft #but i feel bad for not being able to manage something this simple. i wish i weren't like this

-->Anyway, with the rush over, I decided that I wanted Alice to make a pizza in her new pizza oven, so I had her check out her options, then prep some veggies and make some cheese in order to get a garden pizza going. Victor and Smiler kept working the sales floor, chatting to customers and leading to a few more sales – a guy named Umber snagged one of Victor’s Energizing scents for $744, while Brytani deigned to buy some watermelon conserve for $171 (I made sure Victor rung her up, since Smiler doesn’t like her for some reason). Cameron Fletcher also came by to grab a $2 spinach – I’m glad he’s not too annoyed that I banned him from the break room microwave. XD Alice wandered back upstairs while waiting on the stand mixer to clean one of the displays (which WERE getting a bit manky) – I promptly sent her back downstairs to collect her prepped vegetables and get the pizza in the oven while I had Victor finish the cleaning magically and conjure up some spaghetti for himself. Smiler meanwhile got another sale – someone named Anaya buying a box of veggie MREs for $241. For five seconds, everything seemed to be going well –

-->BOOM ANOTHER MASS BUYING EVENT! Complete with lag, because you gotta have lag. *heavy sigh* I had Alice stay downstairs long enough to get her pizza (as it was almost done by the time everyone decided they wanted to buy something), but after that, it was all hands on deck to take care of customers! Fortunately, they got them all – Paolo with a cube of beeswax for $18; Tetsuya with a box of canned fishcakes for $413; Dali with a box of chocolate syrup jars for $413; Jeb and Osuma both with friendly animal treats for $17 each. Oh, and a guy named Chad grabbed a strawberry out of the produce fridges for $19. Whew! I put Victor on "removing all of the out-of-stock signs" duty afterward while Smiler cleaned up some stray plates and glasses that had ended up on the produce stands (the custom “farmer’s market”-style ones I got from Brazen have slots on the little shelf underneath, it appears – perfect for Sims to hide shit from you) and Alice made a clay bunny. As you do. Alice then used the toilet and ate a container of prepped veggies over the bathroom sinks (I forgot you could just eat prepped ingredients straight-up) before running off to shower in the rain. *shakes fist* ERRATIC SIMS! While she was busy causing newcomers to the lot to gasp, Victor and Smiler handled what I decided would be the last sales of the day – Ivana with a box of canned tomato sauce for $413, and Francine with a pumpkin animal treat for $46. There was another lady wanting to buy something, but for some reason Smiler kept insisting they couldn’t get to her, so before things got any more chaotic, I decided to have them close the store. All in all, they sold 18 total items for a profit of $3,729! Not bad for a day’s work!

-->Except – when Smiler closed up shop, three people stayed behind, the previously-stuck lady and two others, all with shopping carts over their heads. Puzzled, I had Smiler and Alice (back in her clothes) ring up the two that could be reached (Victor heading back into the break room for another nap) while I let the “stuck” one time out – this did NOT result in any post-closing sales, though, just some customer goodwill. Well, for everyone except the customer who was mysteriously blocked. Sorry, lady, not sure what happened there! Try again next time!

-->Anyway – with that sorted, the trio decamped to the break room to watch a bit of TV and do a bit of flirting, as they do. :) Once the last customer had FINALLY left the store, they headed back to their place, arriving back home at about 9 PM in-game –

yk that military kid camp i went to? gone for like a week? there were so many homeschooled kids it was crazy. and people that skipped grades. like a 14 yr old is a junior and this 15 yr old is starting freshman in college. made me feel 1) dumb 2) better because i feel like i am inherently less awkward and less socially inept than the average homeschooled kid. i do feel bad a little bit. not a lot.

you are less socially inept than the average homeschool kid I promise. this includes me unfortunately. also don't worry about whether or not they're smarter than you I promise something is still wrong with them

#15 yr old freshman in college is probably just doing dual enrollment which I was SUPPOSED TO DO #but I was lazy and kept putting off taking the practice tests so now I'm a senior. and still haven't started dual enrollment #probably not going to #but yeah a lot of homeschoolers do dual enrollment bc supposedly? the first 2 years of college aren't really major specific #they're like. general classes everyone is required to take. so homeschoolers with flexible schedules have the time and ability #to take those during highschool. they also might just not be taking the highschool versions of those classes at all #like if you can do. entry level college biology or highschool biology well the college one is the same stuff but more in depth #so you don't need to take the highschool class #and then as for the 14 yr old junior well one homeschoolers tend to have less work #I don't really get homework because it's just schoolwork #like I just have to complete things on khan academy #and a lot of in school classroom time is just the teacher trying to manage 20 kids. which isn't a problem here #so I have like. 3-4 hours of schoolwork total in a day probably? you could totally backload more of it #to be finished quicker #anyway they're not any smarter than you they just do school differently in a way that sounds more impressive #but isn't gonna have that big of an effect later #finishing college 2 years early doesn't actually get you anything but your degree 2 years early #ask #ghoultaffy #hi jayme!
