So there’s nowhere that I stick to above all else I’d say but for Yoshi specifically the only harness I have found that will sit far enough back as to not rub + cut her armpits is the ruffwear flagline harness. It does go over the head though so if your dog is sensitive to that you may not like it, the head hole is adjustable though so I found it easy to slowly shrink the hole size and build that comfort.

I’m in Canada so there really aren’t retailers for ruffwear products but I was able to find See Sawyer Run which allowed me to order it online. They do have a 30 day return policy so if it’s the wrong size it can be switched out for the correct one, their customer service team is also super knowledgeable so they were able to help ensure I ordered the correct size the first time. Then I found one singular Pet Valu location that just happened to be carrying them so they do exist if you want to try them on first hand it’s just so unbelievably hard to find them.

Sham fit the first harness we bought for him so idk if he’s just a standard body shape for harnesses or what but he has the Canada Pooch line which is just the perfect design for more sensitive dogs. You only need to move one paw (or train a paw target) to put the whole thing on. It fits him really well with ample room behind the front legs and not sitting up too high on his chest/ throat. I got ours from Pet Valu but I’ve also seen them in PetSmart, they’re pretty common around here.

The only brand I’ll truly never use again is the Kurgo brand. Their harness absolutely shredded Yoshis pits due to a terrible design flaw (the back would cinch up towards the pits causing it to rub and cut) and when I called them to see if we could try a different style because they have a lifetime warranty on them fitting right they kept shrugging me off and being really passive aggressive. Just an outright terrible customer service experience and then to top it off a few months later they had changed that aspect of the design so it didn’t cinch anymore. Just really put me off of their company as a whole.

Anyone have suggestions for good coats? I haven’t been particularly impressed by any of the popular brands, or anything I’ve been seeing in stores. Kurgo, Ruffwear, RC, Rogz . . . not really impressing me. Maybe there’s some hidden gems I’m not aware of? 

If they’re to order online, I definitely want something with a really good sizing chart and a return/exchange policy. And they have to ship to Canada! 

I was trying really hard to get Bree a full snow suit that covered her legs and everything, but haven’t been able to find anything good. But the more it covers, the better, for her! And bonus points if it comes in pink or yellow. Heavy, warm, probably fleece lined. Ideally covers the belly, so not one of the “pony coat” style ones, like Shedrows, that just have the one strap around the stomach. It also should be waterproof (so, not a quilted fabric or fleece coat).

She is double-coated, after all - though her coat is quite silky and fine, so she does get pretty cold sometimes. I feel like I’ve seen enough less expensive jackets in the same design to know that they exist? Like, without the fleece bits. 

Anyways, if anyone has suggestions for good coats! It’s okay if they’re on the expensive side - as long as they’re good, durable, and actually worth it!

I have one that I use in the car (it's the journey dog harness) that's not officially tested but is very similar to one of their tested ones. My favorite thing about their harnesses are that the buckles are the steel nested kind instead of the plastic click ones which are less likely to break or come undone in a crash (or under any circumstances really). From the looks of it the two tested ones and the journey one are the kind that slip over the head and then buckle in two places which makes it easy to put on, and while I can't speak for the other two, the journey model is highly adjustable and I was able to fit it snugly on my weirdly shaped golden.
