Am I the only one, but does it feel like 911 basically doesn't use music anymore? I mean remember when they used Photograph in tsunami episode? I found with Hen's father moment? High hopes in 6x1? Just ice ice baby when they were saving the guy from huge fridge? Fix you in 6x11? Music like the one during the guy dying during the proposal? All i remember it's music for bucktommy, but it was just a background, not silent characters we see and music as main soud, and JLH singing during Maddie walking down the "aisle" in 7s, but that's like all. Nothing from 8s

It's actually made impression and made scenes funnier or more strong and meaningful

P.s. maybe it was in masks but my stream were broken a lot, I've might missed it

The first event at Bobby and Athena's new house is, of course, a barbecue, mixed with a pool party for the kids - and Buck, who's splashing around with them, happy as a fish, letting them climb all over his back so he can throw them back in the pool. Their giggles fill the air, as do the splashing sounds. Tommy is helping Bobby with the grill and sipping on a craft beer (Athena had asked Buck beforehand which brand he liked, and knowing that makes something warm settle in Tommy's chest), but his eyes keep drifting back to his boyfriend, a smitten smile on his face. "Take a picture, it'll last longer" Bobby teases him, nudging his shoulder, and Tommy turns his attention back to the grill, a warm flush in his cheeks.

"Sorry, Cap" He says, not able to call the man 'Bobby' yet no matter how much he insists. "Don't be", Bobby says, in that gentle way of him that makes it seem he's seeing right through people. "You know, I told Buck something about you when you started dating, and I think it still holds true" "Yeah?" Tommy frowns; the version of him that Bobby knew back then wasn't his best one, and he wonders what he could have possibly told Evan about him. "What was that?" "That you're good for him" Bobby answers with a certainty that leaves Tommy speechless. "And you are. I've never seen Buck this happy, Tommy. Or this sure of himself. You are very good for him" Tommy blushes, smiling down at his beer and flipping some burgers. Once he finds his words back, he looks at Bobby earnestly. "Well, let me tell you something about your boy over there, Captain Nash" He says, and Bobby raises an inquiring brow at him. "He's very good for me too"

They walk side-by-side, hand-in-hand, to the middle of the dance floor and turn towards each other. “You sure about this, Evan?” Tommy asks quietly, brushing his thumb across the back of Buck’s hand and searching Buck’s face for an answer. He squeezes Tommy’s hand and steps into his space, and smiles. “I am.” Tommy smiles in return, and the joy on his face is enough to solidify Buck’s resolve. “Okay then, show me your moves.” Buck laughs and steps closer so that he can feel Tommy’s warm breath fan across his face. “I’m afraid I’ve got two left feet, so I’m gonna let you lead.” Tommy guides Buck’s hand to his shoulder before settling his own on Buck’s waist, and lifts their joined hands. “Guess this is just one more thing I get to teach you, huh?” - or: Buck and Tommy dance at Maddie and Chim's wedding, and the pieces that Buck has been searching for finally fall into place.

Why the Live Action Netflix ATLA shouldn’t had Zuko fight back in the Agni Kai duel!

Apparently, the Live Action Netflix Adaptation had decided to have Zuko accept and fight back during the Agni duel between father and son. This I believe was a major narrative mistake that shouldn’t have been changed from the original animated version.

Ozai became infuriated that Zuko was a “coward” that would not defend his honor and pride in front of his father and the entire royal court. Which is why Ozai demanded Zuko to get up and fight him or he would be “taught” respect. This is also connected to other “macho” bushido beliefs and attitudes that firebending men and boys are encouraged and expected to fulfill in the Fire Nation’s violent, authoritarian, fascistic militarized society and culture corrupted by Sozin’s militarism and imperialistic ideology. We see this with Zhao when he insults Zuko for sparing his life and calling him a coward. “ Your father raised a coward!” Commander Zhao B1 E3 The Southern Air Temple.

Zhao would rather get burned, scarred, deformed and possibly killed than have his face and possibly life be spared by Zuko’s compassionate actions. Both Ozai and Zhao were disgusted and disappointed by Zuko’s belief and attitudes toward empathy, mercy, and surrendering. This also explains why Zhao refused Zuko’s help during the fight with Tui and La Avatar State empowered Aang! Fighting a glorious battle to the death even when outmatched and showing no mercy but ruthless is honored and praised in Elite Fire Nation society and culture.

The point that I’m trying to get at is! Zuko not agreeing to the Agni Kai and kneeling infuriated Ozai which led to Zuko’s scarring and banishment because of Ozai’s dissatisfaction, disappointment, and disgust in Zuko’s fear, terror, and unwillingness to duel his father aka a member of his family. Zuko’s terror and desire to not fight his father also conflicted him in the Agni Kai causing him not to act against Ozai. This is the main reason Zuko’s fight with Azula was so impactful. Zuko didn’t want to fight his family yet had no choice regarding his father and sister.

I glad that despite Zuko fighting back in the Agni Kai in Episode 6: Mask of NATLA. That the showrunners stayed true to the characters: Ozai and Zuko along with the themes of the Agni Kai. I’m also glad that they didn't make Ozai have a favored child. Ozai wants Zuko and Azula to both prove themselves. Ozai doesn't favor Zuko or Azula. It is about which child will succeed Sozin, Azulon, and his legacy as future Fire Lord. In fact, Ozai doesn't want Zuko or Azula to think that they are the ���favorite” child. He wants Azula and Zuko to improve through competition. Because of “steel sharpen steel” mentality. Ozai has the mentality of an imperialist warlord. I think Ozai, Zuko, Iroh and Azula’s characterization were well done and faithful! Iroh being confronted over Ba Sing Se was amazing as well and tied to his grief of Lu Ten’s death.

Yesterday my brain threw up this idea for a possible bottle episode and then at last minute dropped the random thought of it being a wip I should write. Then you all shamelessly encouraged me...sigh. Notes were made, words were written, and a new wip was born. So I give to you, my doppelganger fic.

Doppelgänger. A German word that literally means double-walker. A phenomenon often regaled in science fiction or supernatural tales. Seen as otherworldly beings that represent bad luck or outright evil. Because each person that comes into the world is supposed to be unique in their own way physically (outside of identical twins).  The face you see in the mirror is yours and yours only, so seeing it on another, well it must mean something? Right? It’s a contemplation that a group of firefighters from the 118 face just after the annular California solar eclipse, a time when strange phenomena truly occur. October 14th, 2023, the day after the solar eclipse and the beginning of a truly unique 48-hour shift. The team hears about the shift from the 13th from the previous crew. How the solar eclipse brought out the conspiracist, doom sayers, and extra wackos. Chimney thanks his lucky stars that he was not stuck on that shift and can’t help but chuckle when Buck goes on a tangent about the ‘effects’ of the eclipse sun. His chuckle deepens when he spots Eddie rolling his eyes behind his best friend’s back, keeping his opinions and disbelief to himself, for now. “You know, there’s a theory that the eclipse is actually a portal to another dimension or world.” Buck states as he pulls on a standard LAFD shirt, finally covering his bare chest. Chimney clocks the mild disappointment that flashes across Eddie’s face and Chimney internally gags. Next to him, Ravi snorts and shakes his head, “They are so blind and stupid.” He mutters under his breath and Chim gives a slight nod of agreement. Too bad the eclipse didn’t use its supernatural prowess to finally end the sexually charged and love sickening dance that has been going on between those two firefighters for way too long. Eddie’s disappointment last only seconds and by the time Buck turns around, a cheeky smile has replaced the frown, “A portal huh? Does it take anyone then? Or just dump another Mothman into the hills?”

LOOK WHAT YA'LL MADE ME DO! I have so many other wips, including NFL Buck and 4+1 Cockblock that I am trying to get done, but nooooo my random thought is now being shamelessly encouraged. Happy?!?!?! (Seriously, actually giddy about this! Its a fun fic with some serious undertones.) Forshame!
