Trying the new engine with some variations of previous stylings ~unedited~

Well... the default settings are atrocious... everything is more white, the colors are dull, and the lighting is too harsh...

Besides the obvious skin issues, the worst was Nikki's hair not being soft and shiny anymore 😭

While changing the game settings does help a bit, there are still others issues. The filters and lighting are working differently, to the point where some are unrecognizable... It's possible to find a few that will help with the colors but that will only be useful for the dressing room and your saved sets for the home screen. However, if you're doing a chapter, competition, or reverie, you are left with the only choice of going through Nikki's clothes with just the changed game settings...

Of course, the gems, texture, and other details are looking much better, but at the end, this update left much to be desired 🥲

One of the reasons I'm starting to learn how to accept making "bad art" is to have unironically appreciated bad art for myself. Instead of worrying if I make art that is soul-crushing, earth-shattering, and something that Changes the World, what if I just... made art?

It's so freeing see that what is called "bad art" is often just a thinly-veiled criticism of an artist who doesn't conform to what they or their art "should" be. They have embodied their "bad art" so fully that you cannot begin to comprehend just how much it means for them to have crafted it. What good is it to make amazing art with no soul? What good is it to perform the illusion of art rather than create it? It's nothing short of rebellion to make something for you, to not worry at all what people consider "bad."

By being VERY LUCKY and willing to invest A LOT OF TIME. If there's something you really want to find, here are your best bets, in no particular order:

If you remember specific keywords, try a google search. However, even if you get a hit, the link won't take you to the post, it will take you to the main page of the blog. Have fun dumpster diving (affectionate) in their Archive tab.

If the post belonged to a specific fandom, try finding blogs that only reblog stuff about that fandom and have fun dumpster diving (affectionate) in their Archive tab.

Plead to the void and hope the void answers. Make a post giving as much info as you can about the post you are trying to find and hope someone else remembers it and knows where to find it or has better luck than you tracking it down.

Go to r/tumblr or r/curatedtumblr while you still can and try asking there if anyone remembers the post and has a link.

i’ve decided that post-canon Ed and Winry keep a little flock of chickens and it’s mostly a bunch of sweet hens that they and the kids dote on, but they also have a tiny yellow bantam rooster which Ed is in a FEUD with. they are NEMESES. this creature keeps escaping from the run and getting into things he shouldn’t and pecking at Ed’s ankles every chance he gets. the kids love him and ‘accidentally’ let him into the house where he causes utter chaos. Ed insists this is the most vile creature in the world. but of course everyone else who sees their altercations is just like “Ah. He has found a kindred spirit.”
