Skincare And Rejuvenation Treatments Available At Roma Medical Spa
People frequently evaluate skin treatments in terms of beauty and the procedures that can help them achieve it. They frequently overlook the core reality, that young and healthy skin is the most attractive.
Treatments for skin rejuvenation combine to provide healthier skin and more aesthetically acceptable results. Skin rejuvenation can help whether you're trying to repair fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, or just making your skin look more youthful. The treatment you select will be based on your unique needs and objectives.
What is skin rejuvenation?
Your skin begins to show the effects of your negligence over time as you get older. Your enjoyable beach days, eating junk food, and late-night binge-watching all manifest as various skin problems, such as acne scars, sunspots, freckles, dark circles, wrinkles, and fine lines.
These kinds of skin issues can result from even weight increase and loss. Treatments for skin regeneration provide your skin with new life.
Chemical peels and even laser therapy are two alternative methods of skin regeneration. Skin resurfacing is the procedure for skin rejuvenation that is most frequently employed. A light therapy treatment can also give your skin a youthful, smooth appearance.
While some skin-rejuvenation procedures can be performed safely on different body regions, such as the hands or neck, many people choose facial skin rejuvenation procedures to address wrinkles and lines on their faces.
Types of skin rejuvenation treatments
Roma wellness spa offers a wide range of skincare and rejuvenation services in Stockton. These are listed below:
Micro-needling
Pores, small wrinkles, and scars can be significantly diminished with the help of micro-needling, a collagen-stimulating technology.
Micro-needling is a walk-in, walk-out procedure that targets needles into the superficial to deep dermis. This encourages the production of new collagen, which results in skin that is smoother, plumper, and more radiant.
The dermis is encouraged to manufacture collagen throughout the process, much as how lifting weights builds muscle.
Micro-needling in Stockton is affordable, low-risk, and only somewhat helpful for acne scars. One of the main benefits of the treatment is speedy recovery; redness typically goes away in a day or two. It is an effective method of treating acne scarring without needing to miss any time from work.
Botox
Botox is one of the most widely used anti-aging procedures. It is available at a reasonable price, has no threats, and necessitates no recuperation time. Botulinum toxin injections administered specifically can temporarily reduce wrinkles on the face, around the eyes, and on the neck that are brought on by habitual movements like smiling, frowning, or lifting the eyebrows. By reducing the amount of muscle action, Botox can smooth existing wrinkles and stop the development of new, deep wrinkles.
Dermal fillers
Soft tissue fillers have transformed the way wrinkles and volume loss are treated during the past 20 years or more. A remarkably adaptable and safe tool for the treatment of face aging is hyaluronic acid (HA). A trained medical professional injects HA-based dermal fillers, such as the Allergan Juvederm line, into the target area to:
Heighten your cheekbones.
Fill up your hollow cheeks and eyes.
Streamline your jawline
Intensify nasolabial folds
minimize vertical lines
Sculpt new lips.
Chemical peels
To treat age spots, wrinkles, and surface scarring, chemical peels are utilized. An acid solution is applied to dissolve skin cells and scrape off the epidermis' outermost layers.
The epidermis gets exfoliated when you apply a chemical peel because it rubs against your skin and generates friction. It enhances the surface of your skin and purges the innermost layers of filth and bacteria. It can take a few weeks for the process to start producing results.
If you want to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and age spots, skin rejuvenation can be a great option. The fact that you can maintain good skin and a youthful appearance is more significant. No matter what, having a good skincare routine is essential if you want to maintain the health of your skin and avoid any damage. Additionally, healthy practices like uninterrupted sleep, consistent exercise, and a balanced diet can all speed up the process of skin renewal. To learn about the procedures, side effects, and length of the treatments, get in touch with the specialists at Roma Medical Spa and book an appointment today!

Serpent of Hate, Guardian of the Wrathful River, Styx is one of five aquatic beasts that dwell in the rivers of the Underworld. Her territory is within the most famed river of this realm, both their names found upon many tongues in the mortal world. The two share the same winding body, slithering through the depths of the Underworld. In this twisting home, she spends all of her time patrolling its waters and shores, keeping an eye out for any who may intrude. Of all the rivers in the Underworld, hers is the one that receives the most warnings. It is not just the trapped souls who are told to avoid these waters, it goes to the regular denizens, guards and higher-ups as well. Do not even dip a single toe into this river, as it is a death sentence to any who violate it. As the regulars down below often say, "there is a reason no one else guards these shores." If one takes a dip or tries to cross this river to escape the Underworld, the wrath of this horrific serpent will come crashing down like a tsunami. The waters will surge and churn, as the massive creature barrels through the depths. All victims usually see is a wave of blue and teeth, then darkness. While all the other rivers of this realm are incredibly dangerous, there is a reason this one is most avoided. Of all the other beasts, she is the strongest by far. Her incredible length and muscly bulk makes her entire body a weapon. Charging through the waters at lightening speeds, she can strike an opponent with the force of a typhoon, obliterating ships and mortals, while sending more durable foes flying. Her length allows her to coil around larger foes and crush them with her powerful muscles, while a single whip of her tail can turn humans into a fine mist. Her raw strength alone makes her a terrifying enemy, but that is not the only weapon at her disposal. In fact, she has many, all which are presented in the form of razor sharp teeth. Styx is bristling with hooked fangs and sharpened teeth, sprouting from the various maws that line her body. All of these pale in comparison to the massive jaws upon her face, as they are large enough to swallow a ship. Simply opening this toothy chasm is enough to create a powerful vortex that sucks in water, fish, vessels and victims. If that whirlpool is not enough to capture prey, her throat is lined with a multitude of clawed tendrils, each eager to seize flesh and draw blood. They reach out like blind arms and strike like hungering serpents, dragging prisoners down into her cavernous maw. Waiting for those who fall in is another boney set of jaws, one that is more suited for slicing and chewing. The glowing hooked teeth on her face are mainly used to trap prey in her mouth, while these skeletal fangs are meant to shred them. It is said that this inner jaw is capable of biting through any material, be it mortal metal or heavenly armor. Everything is devoured and sent into the abyss of her gut, regardless if they are friend or foe. Even if one is lucky to avoid this massive mouth, the rest of her body is covered with hungering teeth, each ready to clamp down on any poor soul. Once the teeth sink in, crushing muscles will pull the victim into her body, where they will be dumped into her horrible stomach. It is said that there is no death within this organ, as victims are left to suffer in this excruciating pit of acid. The wretched fumes of this foul liquid awakens buried grudges and contained anger, turning prisoners into savage, crazed beasts. They will turn on the others trapped in her stomach, turning her body in a cruel and endless bloodbath. How long one must suffer in this pit of blood and poison is unknown, but a way out is known. Eventually she will vomit out unwanted things, be it trash, pardoned sinners or beings she wasn't supposed to eat in the first place. These refuse piles are found deep in the Underworld, as she is very specific on where she dumps her gut. These are foul and miserable spots, but some denizens may be seen rooting around in the filth to find interesting objects or bizarre valuables that wound up inside her. The Styx is known as the River of Hatred, and there is no better beast to guard these waters than her. She is an incredibly angry and violent individual, constantly in a state of seething anger. She views this river as her territory and she refuses to let a single soul intrude upon it. Her insane aggression has her lash out at any beings who dare touch her water or try to cross it, regardless of their power or authority. Her senses appear to be fine tuned to this river, as she immediately knows when someone dipped their foot into it miles away. With her strength and speed, she practically teleports to the site of the offense and immediately goes on a rampage. Any who are in the water will be quickly devoured, while those on shore will be seized in her tendrils and fed to her grinding maw. Boats and dinghies are not safe from her wrath either, as she can also sense when an unwanted craft touches the surface. These vessels barely stand a chance against her, as she reduces them to splinters in moments. It is said that guards near this region of the Underworld turn a blind eye to souls that try to fashion ways of escape, as they get endless amusement from watching these fools be devoured. She doesn't seem to find it so fun, as she throws a tantrum when anyone treads her territory, even thrashing and screaming long after the last offender has been eaten. This hatred she embodies even seems to emanate from her, coming off in that strange blue glow. Those who gaze at any of her numerous lights will begin to grow irritated and frustrated. Their anger will rise with each passing moment, until they are blind with rage and throw themselves into the river to extinguish this infernal glow. Those who succumb to this spell rarely last a second in these waters, as her wrath is far greater than anything they could muster. This insane territorial nature goes with any body of water she inhabits, as she is just as furious with intruders when she winds up in the mortal realm. If she is somehow dumped into one of humanity's oceans, she will be on the warpath. Trading routes and fleets will be demolished, as she views every one of these vessels as a threat and an annoyance. Crowded waterways and popular beaches will turn into a feeding frenzy, as she swoops in to devour dozens with each gulp. While these appearances seem to be caused by random chance or cruel fate, some say Styx is actually tricked into entering the mortal realm by the rulers and denizens of the Underworld, who are desperate to be rid of her.
Though she is a valuable guardian, it is well known that Styx is not a popular member of the Underworld. Her endless rage and furious nature causes her to turn on practically anyone. It is not an exaggeration when it is said she will attack anyone who disturbs her river. Guards, officials, rulers and even gods are considered enemies in her eyes, and she will throw herself at them if they dare make a single ripple. There are many stories of her causing chaos and destruction at inopportune times, especially since the river is a sacred site for ceremonies and pledges. Many oath swearings have been ruined when an audience member accidentally disturbs the waters and summons Styx and all her fury. There was also the instance when a certain guard dog decided to take a drink from the rushing river. It took hours to pull the two screeching creatures apart, as it was a tangled chain of bloody teeth and locked jaws. There are even rumors that the god of this very realm is not safe from her fury, as she refuses to acknowledge his divinity. It has been noted that he only crosses the Styx upon the ferryman's boat, which officials claim is for ceremonial purposes. Others secretly believe it is because there is no other way he can cross without angering the vile serpent. Even though she flies into a blind rage whenever any breathing creature looks at her funny, there are a scarce few beings that Styx tolerates. It seems that the ferryman is the only sailor that can cross her waters undisturbed, as she will never bring harm to his boat. At first it was believed that his vessel had some kind of protection or spell that warded her away, but further observation has shown that she is passive around this fellow. When he is crossing the river, she will be swimming close by, keeping close to her friend and also waiting to see if any fool falls from the boat. At times he may sit upon the shores of the river, and she may rest her head upon the sand for both company and comfort. Of all the beings in the Underworld, he is the only one who can seemingly rein her in. When she starts attacking a sacred ceremony or is trying to eat some divine guest, folks are quick to find the ferryman and bring him in to stop her. Styx also seems to begrudgingly tolerate the other river keepers, always grumbling and growling but never fighting. She does admit that their respective rivers are their territory, so she does not invade them without permission. She does also observe the great marsh where the five meet as neutral ground, she is just always cranky about it. Regardless, it has been seen or heard that Styx has some hidden fondness for the other river beasts. She has been seen watching Acheron's sadistic hunting techniques and appears to enjoy the show, though if anyone asks, she will say that Acheron is an immature child who is incapable of taking her role seriously. Cocytus is often seen as an grating annoyance, with Styx having no time for her wailing. Her singing and crying is met with shouts and demands for her to shut up. Styx often chastises her for being so emotional and not getting over these stupid worries. However, Styx has been seen being quite miserable after these cruel outbursts, often hiding away somewhere to stew in self-loathing. She knows quite well that Cocytus is not the only one plagued by emotions she cannot control, and she hates herself for inflicting this pain on another victim. While she may grumble about Lethe and her absent mind, Styx is able to find peace and calmness when bathing in her forgetful waters. When hanging close to Lethe, Styx is momentarily freed from her endless anger, giving her a rare chance to relax. When she is free from this influence though, she is quick to return to her rage, suddenly thinking that this was some ruse or trick to get her to drop her guard. As for Phlegethon, Styx says that the fiery beast is a constant source of irritation with her stupid dances and vain attitude. As a vigilant guardian, she believes Phlegethon has gotten the wrong job, as there is no time for extravagant shows and grand performances. The burning slug's ego and self-praise really gets Styx wound up, and every self-compliment that arises is met by biting insults and angered muttering. Though Styx often yells and mocks Phlegethon, the two have been seen together quite often. Styx insists its because the egotistical dancer is obsessed with getting her approval, which she will never give. However, the serpent is quite bad at hiding her enjoyment of these performances or when Phlegethon gives some subtle flattery. Styx would never admit such a thing, as the burning hatred that flows through her body makes such confessions difficult. Thankfully, it seems Phlegethon is aware of this curse, and sticks close with the fuming serpent in hopes of finally breaking through. --------------------------------------------------------------------- And end it with a sea serpent! Excellent! That is the last of my Beasts of the Infernal River and boy was it a blast! I love these gals and Styx was a really fun one! This project was nice and easy for me, as there were only five this time! Now I must return to the hunt, to find the next big thing to chip away at. Hopefully I can find some other short ones, as it gets quite tough when I got to come up with ten or more unique designs for something! This is also the end of Kaijune for me! Hope you guys enjoyed what I made! Now that I am done making monsters, I can get back to making monsters!

Got this idea from a TAT ask about the whumpee being slammed against a wall. I switched it up a bit. Gotta love Gaia’s telekinesis. Obviously, warning for graphic depictions of violence. This is Gone we’re talking about here, after all.
Drake’s whip lashed at Sam, slicing through skin. His rended flesh burned like acid. The snakelike appendage curled around his throat, and pulled, slamming him into the concrete. Sam gagged, and choked.
Gaia approached. No longer looking like a little girl. She could’ve been his age. Beautiful. But there was death in her blue eyes — the eyes of Diana Ladris.
“Drake, don’t kill him yet,” she said.
Sam looked around frantically, for help, for an escape… anything. Maybe he could run. But he couldn’t even manage to get himself back to his feet, each breath ragged. His back bled, and all he could think of was the nuclear power plant.
No, he wasn’t there. He wasn’t being tormented again, helpless, having been forced to be tortured to save everyone.
But wasn’t that like now? Wasn’t he sacrificing himself?
He was in the plaza. Perdido Beach was starting to burn, the fire from the Stefano Rey catching fast, sparks flying through the air and landing on the trash and litter in the streets, making it burn. Kids were dead. More kids than he cared to count. More kids than he’d ever wanted responsibility for.
Too many to bury.
Sam Temple, why didn’t you save them? the judge asked.
I tried.
You tried?
It wasn’t good enough.
Drake snarled. “Why not?”
Suddenly Drake collapsed behind Sam, and he was on the ground, screaming.
“Ahhh! Ahhh! Ahhhh!”
“Because I said so!” Gaia yelled. “You do what I say. You are meant to serve me. Your wants mean nothing. Nothing!”
Drake stopped screaming, but was now whimpering, and there was a sour smell soon reaching Sam’s nostrils, as if Drake had wet himself, even in this new body. Sam wrinkled his nose at the smell, but it didn’t make him gag as all the disgustingness of the FAYZ had at first.
This was his life now.
He was used to it.
What a weird thing for a nearly-sixteen year old boy to be used to.
Violence. Death. Horror. Pain. Filth.
Gaia’s attention now turned to Sam, and he stiffened, not easily forgetting how she’d shattered his shoulder and his spine earlier. He would have probably been dead from the injuries if not for Lana. Now that healing would be a waste. She’d healed a person marked for death.
Gaia was chewing her thumbnail, like Caine, and despite the glee in her eyes, there was something else. Was it panic? It was clouded with indecision.
“Kill me.”
“What?”
“Kill me,” Sam told her.
If he died, she couldn’t use his power anymore. If he’d died earlier she wouldn’t have been able to kill Brianna. God, Brianna. Sarcastic, rowdy, brave, funny Brianna. The Breeze.
No more.
“Don’t think I don’t know what you’re doing, Sam Temple. You die, I lose your power.”
Sam managed to get up on his hands and knees. Kids were all hidden in buildings, behind walls of trashed houses and the town halls, the daycare, even in the remains of the church. They huddled under debris, wrecked furniture, broken windows. Anything to hide from Gaia. Sam could see some of them, moving, cowering, trembling. He had to end it.
Sam got to his feet as fast as he could, raised his hands and aimed at Gaia. Blinding green light burned from his hands, but it did from hers as well. The beams of searing hot energy met, and they pushed against each other. It was a battle of wills now, of strength. Everything was too bright, and he couldn’t see a thing except for the beams of pure burning power. This was it.
He held on as long as he could, but he wasn’t fighting a human. He was fighting an alien, a mutation, the devil of the FAYZ.
The energy blasted back at him, hot air singeing his sensitive skin, surely making it pink and blistering. He was thrown backwards, like an explosion had gone off, and he flipped over before landing hard on his back. The air was slammed out of him like he’d been slammed by a truck.
Air wouldn’t get in.
His lungs ached, pounded, itched. And his head hurt, vision filling with black spots.
Sam was gasping, skin slightly burnt and blistered, as he lay on the pavement, having been pushed farther to the wrecked fountain. Closer to Brianna’s dead body.
Oh, God.
Before Sam could get his bearings, a house was ripped apart.
Gaia.
A wall hurtled through the sky, Sam watching its unnatural arc.
It slammed down on him. And then she lifted it, smashing him with it repeatedly, like she was trying to squish an annoying bug.
Sam screamed with what little air he had in him, he choked and gagged from lack of oxygen, and then his bones were breaking in a million agonizing cracks.
His body was broken.
Gaia left the wall on him, and Sam was fighting just to stay awake.
She would kill everyone in the FAYZ. And then she’d come for him.
The end.
What a pathetic and violent end.
Sam lost consciousness.

My 2010s in Records.
10. My Bloody Valentine — mbv
Wrote about mbv on a separate piece.
9. Earl Sweatshirt — Some Rap Songs
Earl Sweatshirt’s Some Rap Songs is a record of mending and therapy. At the beginning of the decade, rap fans saw the 16 year old prodigy create the most technical and distinctive raps unheard of at that time. Yes, a lot of it was jarring and immature, but the potential was there. While debut mixtape EARL was a teaser and an introduction to his greatness, Doris was his reclamation to the rap game after a period of silence in Samoa. I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside in turn spoke for itself. Its morose disposition then made its way onto Some Rap Songs; not quite his masterpiece, but an accomplished period piece nonetheless. As one of the most highly acclaimed rappers in the world today, Earl spills his guts out on this diaristic tape about his relationship with his father and the emotional exhaustion coming from trying to amend it. On “Red Water,” he repeats the same 8 bars on loop as if caught in a recurring dream. “Papa called me chief / gotta keep it brief / locked and loaded I can see you lyin’ through your teeth” he raps in a fugue state, as if coming to the realization that his father was only there for those momentary times of convenience. It’s always difficult to write something that includes family and loved ones. There’s a sense of vulnerability you have to divulge in as well as a catharsis that fulfills one’s desire to let go of one’s agony. The beats on Some Rap Songs run on loose kaleidoscopic loops, production that Earl has mastered rapping over as his idiosyncrasies in his bars do best when complementing them. Thanks to the influence of his buddies Mike and Medhane, he’s learned to channel his eccentric flows onto those beats. “Riot” closes the record with the sentimental instrumental sampling jazz legend, and uncle, Hugh Masekela. It’s feels like a proper ending to Earl’s chronicle, but the events that have transpired will always be apart of his life. At the end of it all, Some Rap Songs will remain forever a tombstone of his anguish.
8. The Spirit of the Beehive — Hypnic Jerks
There’s no other dream pop record this decade that could top this almost-perfect album. The hushed vocalizations of Zach Schwartz and Rivka Ravede offer a quiet intimacy in the dreamscape that is Hypnic Jerks. The title in itself lends to the idea of being half asleep and half awake — to be in an altered state where the real and surreal are just two sides of the same coin. Tracks like “poly swim” and “it’s gonna find you” entrance you into that state of unconscious, while tracks like “can i receive the contact?” and “hypnic jerks” make an effort to wake you up from the sublime. Field recordings filter in and out between tracks, as if you were hallucinating the whole time. It’s when “nail i couldn’t bite” and “(without you) in my pocket” play out that you realize it doesn’t matter what state you lie in. Their lucid pop constructions reward repeated listens to the point of obsession in a somnambulant state. The record’s lack of acclaim only makes it feel like you’re in on a hidden secret. To this day, I am completely spellbound to its sorcery and have yet to unlock its mysteries.
7. Iceage — New Brigade
Back in elementary school, I listened to a lot of pop punk; the kind that was rapturously melodic yet cheesily done and overproduced (Think Blink 182 or All Time Low). Until I listened to New Brigade, I didn’t even realize what true punk music actually sounded like. Iceage was just fucking cool to me. Sure, they had the aesthetic, depicting bloody mosh pits and macabre rune art, but it was truly the music that broke into my spirit, shattering what I thought punk sounded like back in the day. I’d read pieces about their notorious live shows where they would play rapid 15-minute sets in the sunless recesses of Denmark, which only added to the band’s mystique. Upon listening to their debut, I felt musically fulfilled like never before. No more of the whiny, drawn out vocals from pop punk bands. Frontman Elias Bender Rønnenfelt had the kind of angsty drawl similar to Nick Cave’s when he played with The Birthday Party which offered a kind of obscene yet confident instability to his performance. Johan Surrballe Wieth and Jakob Tvilling Pless’s guitars have just the right amount of filth in them — an abrasive attack on your soul while Dan Kjær Nielsen’s drums are played propulsively in classic hardcore fashion — never meant decelerate. The record didn’t offer the tightest instrumental, but that was the point. Iceage have gone on to release tighter and more spectacular punk records consistently over the decade but their debut broke the ceiling of what to me punk could, and should, sound like. From the cathartic breakdown of “White Rune” to the triumphant “You’re Blessed,” New Brigade was the record that gave me that spark, the one that carried me to rotting heights.
6. Frank Ocean — Channel Orange
Channel Orange will always be a classic to my generation. From Grammy-nominated “Thinking’ Bout You” to the sweet and charming “Forrest Gump,” we surf through Frank’s psyche in smooth and effortless RnB. Frank Ocean’s vivid universe is one of vibrant summers and distant getaways. Its colourful motifs paint a pretty picture for us — pink skies, monks in moshpits, peaches and mangos, roofs of mansions, palm trees and pools, Majin Buu. Most people I know around my age know the lyrics to most of its tracks. They’re as infectious as any classic from the past decade. I still remember listening to “Sweet Life” by the beach with a friend before attending his concert on his first tour. Everything felt right in the world when he sang “so why see the world when you got the beach” as the waves crashed over the sand and the summer heat glistened over the ocean. During its release, he opened up to the world to reveal his love for another man in an affectionate Tumblr post. It gave us an appreciation into an artist’s vulnerable identity while breaking the door open for other artists to come out in their own way. Frank later released his masterpiece in Blonde/Endless and a plethora of brilliant singles from his radio show, but the stories and music from Channel Orange will remain forever timeless.
5. Solange — A Seat at the Table
“Fall in your ways / so you can crumble / fall in your ways / so you can wake up and rise” sings Solange, on the introduction to her restorative album A Seat at the Table. They’re words I try to tell myself in times of darkness. Solange just has that ability to let anybody express themselves through her music, to meditate on life’s injustices and pitfalls. It’s okay to be mad; it’s okay to rest and take care of yourself as much as you need to. We just have to rely on each other to get back into the fight. It feels like a lot of my favourite records from the past decade are imbued with themes of darkness and isolation. Fortunately, I still have Solange to let myself vent out those frustrations. Whether it’s the strings on the beginning of “Cranes in the Sky” that remind me to slow down or the horns projected behind Master P’s stoic orations that fuel my determination to keep afloat, A Seat at the Table plays like an instruction manual for self-care, black empowerment, and righteous activism. It’s consoling to know that I’m not alone in distracting myself from everything that’s wrong with the world today. 2016 was such an appropriate time for this record to be released. Solange gave us hope, grace, stoicism, and the ability to heal and recharge. A Seat at the Table may be a personal record to Solange, but as she sings on “F.U.B.U.,” this shit is for us.
4. Chance the Rapper — Acid Rap
It’s odd to say that my favourite rap record of the decade comes in the form of pop rap album Acid Rap. In making this list, I thought about the obvious greats in My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy or Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City. In the end, Chance’s second mixtape brought me more joy than any of those records did. It gave me the cringiest but most pleasurable musical moments with the homies singing along to tracks like “Cocoa Butter Kisses” and “Pusha Man.” Releasing it independently and as a free download, Chance’s spoken-word idiosyncrasies reveal themselves as classic pop rap gems by the end of the decade. Chance’s whole thing was just about pure positivity and having fun. The era of albums I could compare to it was during the release of Kanye’s College Dropout and Late Registration, a time when Kanye (sort of) envisioned the anti-stereotype in rappers, countering the machismo and toxic masculinity found in a lot of hip-hop now and back then (RIP old Kanye). Chance didn’t care about getting bitches or getting money. He just wanted to do drugs with his friends — to trip out on acid and go on a spiritual journey with all of us. Hidden beneath the positivity, Chance still creeps in a dash of realism and humanity on tracks like “Paranoia,” illustrating the life of gang-banging in his hometown of Chicago. It’s the earnestness in his raps that always pulls me back, the flourishes of piano when he raps “I lean back then spark my shit / I turn up I talk my shit / hope you love all my shit / I hope you love all my shit / IGH.” It turns out, as he declares on the outro, Everything’s Good.
3. Alex G — DSU
On DSU, time stops. The cult of Alex G is now cemented in indie rock lore at the end of the decade with eight albums full of hooks, dreams, and shattered spirits. DSU was the first record I listened to by Alex G, and remains my favourite by his despite him going on to release better conceptual records in Rocket and House of Sugar. No track can be skipped or listened to passively. With most of them springing under the 2–3 minute mark, ideas flow in and out without direction but coalesce into an impressionistic and breathtaking work of art. Hints of Elliott Smith and Isaac Brock echo in the duality of harsh guitar distortion and melodious pop hooks. Guitar feedback never felt so comforting as it colours the magnificence of Alex G’s composition. There’s a kind of deep melancholy in each track despite the ambiguous surrealism lyrics, a perfect winter record to listen to alone in your room or walk through the piles of snow in the night. Its murky yet lush production somehow reaches out to you, helps you drown in its depths and remain there for its 37 minutes. Whether it’s “Skipper” fully attuning you to its hushed presence, or the entrancing opener of “After Ur Gone,” I just feel like I want to close my eyes and immerse myself in there for as long as it allows me to.
2. Frank Ocean — Blonde
Frank Ocean’s Blonde arrived as a gift from the heavens. For five years, my friends and I have joked and memed about when the new Frank was coming out — whether it was even ever going to come out. Years after its release, it has evolved into the masterpiece that I’ve always wanted him to create. When Endless came out, I felt somewhat disappointed at the material — although later served as the perfect complement to Blonde — because of its lack of sensual pieces similar to those on Channel Orange’s effortless RnB and the latter record’s penchant for easy sing-alongs. Blonde in turn revealed a similar mood: the spacious vapour that fogged up behind Ocean’s intimate croon, the volatility in his voice that permeated your soul — it felt like an emotional load that was difficult to bare, yet something necessary that had to be experienced. I was just getting into my first intimate relationship when Blonde came out, and it’s made me realize how much I wanted to make that person happy, and that I couldn’t take any relationship I had for granted. I felt heavy after listening to this record. The sadboi hours memes ring true to its emotional weight. I would flutter to the arpeggios of “Ivy” as Frank sings “I thought that I was dreamin’ when you said you love me,” bop to the duality of “Nights,” and shed a tear to the wistfulness of “Godspeed.” I wonder how much shit Frank had to go through to even get any of these songs on tape. It’s okay. I like to think think that by the end of it all, Blonde was the catharsis he needed to spill his heart out.
1. Tame Impala — Lonerism
At the end of the decade, seeing Kevin Parker as one of the most highly-touted producers and songwriters in pop music would be an observation if you had asked me a decade ago, when Tame Impala’s first record Innerspeaker — an expansive work of art that recalled 60’s guitar psychedelia — first came out. On Lonerism, Parker’s music evolved into something even more seismic and innovative in scope. As the name suggests, Lonerism is a product of disaffection, self-defeat, and isolation. I’d imagine it was as fulfilling to other music fans of a type to detach from the world and just get lost in another’s. There’s a part on “Keep on Lying” where an endless guitar solo is played in the midst of a dinner party being played out; that feeling of getting dragged to a party when you were just a kid but just wanted to pop your headphones on and refuse to interact with anybody. According to Parker, he put in the sample to make the listener feel even more alienated. It’s a powerful feeling that lets anyone listening to the record in on that vulnerable sensation. In spite of that, tracks like “Apocalypse Dreams” and “Elephant” still give us astonishing psych rock bangers while pop gems “Music to Walk Home By” and “Feels like We Only Go Backwards” demonstrate Parker’s guitar pedal gymnastics over vibrant hooks. Although Currents has skyrocketed him into the fame and acclaim that he undoubtedly deserves, this record will always be his opus in my heart. I’ve daydreamed enough times to the music where its world has settled into my subconscious. It’s a world that comes from genius, but it’s also a world that invites you in to escape from the idea of Lonerism itself, to have something shared with you in solitude.

Dance Of Exploding Eggs
The dead do not wash their feet.
Neither does not Nadia. She was still alive, still staring at the marks of peckish dirt encasing her feet like a spotted glaze. Yet, less appetizing.
Instead, she was reviled to find where her veins strutted up to form long, sinewy ridges—her usually clear complexion blemished in wildfires of tawny gunk.
Even her tiny hairs, which she regularly shaved, were now trees bristling in leaves of muddied bluster. In the clefts between her toes, little clans of grungy warriors built camps and lit fires, letting their filth fly freely, while fending off the fungal barbarians sure to be surrounding them any second now.
Her toenails fared no better, each one piling unto itself as a layered cake of dead cells. Hardened, deadened, sharp—soot-stricken orphans seeking shelter beneath the curves, shivering yet ordained by structure to never clog or obstruct the construction of new nail, which constantly builds outward as a bridge of flattened crystal-flesh. Until gravity clutches it and pulls it down, looping back into the very toe it tried to escape from, almost like a parasite that can’t quite leave the taste of its host behind.
And the stench from all this—pervading passed all bounds of invisible air, leaping up so fast and flourishing, by the time it reaches the nose it is a blossoming fist of smell, punching nostrils closed, knocking out any other aroma present.
How could any conscious being permit such an expanse of putridness to grow on itself?
Nadia did not have to ponder for long because she blamed herself supremely and solely. Just as well, since she blamed herself often and deeply.
“I have to wash my feet...” she muttered to herself. “A good soak is all they need.”
In her quiet inspection, she lamented the dead. For as they were, being deceased, their feet could deteriorate and decay all they like, because at six-feet-under earthly crust, no one can smell them or complain about them, and they themselves could not openly accuse themselves of being the opposite of hygienic and failing to hide natural odor from their own judgmental eyes. Because despite how natural the growth of dirtiness on feet seemed to be, it was still considered hideous to everyone—especially Nadia—and frowned upon by many in circles high above the very ground upon which these very feet walked on.
“There is fungus growing on these, I just know it.” Nadia assured herself.
But as she did, pinching the derelict spots in quiet contempt, her companion muddled platitudes of support, remarking how happy he would be to scrape off all those mushrooms on her feet and cook a nice dish with them—maybe a soup or pasta or something.
“Wild shrooms like that always have such an earthly taste you can’t find anywhere else!”
“Here then, have a taste yourself!” Nadia sneered, shoving her foot right into her companion’s face, her wilderness-blessed toes tapping classical melodies on his face.
He playfully grabbed her ankle and kissed her toes all over, licking his lips, wearing a face like a golden-tongued chef being asked by the gods to decide whose confection was best—was it the lemon-frosted cream-cake by Hekate, or perhaps the pineapple-pudding pie which Hermes made?
Nadia giggled, curling her toes, still concerned by her bothersome feet, but quite content to have someone overcome it for the sake of amusing her. And he did amuse her—in all ways. It is the only reason she even agreed to go on this trip—especially after what happened so long ago.
Otherwise, she would have stayed at home, soaking her feet to a wrinkled gleam.
And as she removed her foot from his face, returning her leg to a proper position, she was appropriately careful not to disturb the eggs on the dashboard, which were bundled together in a basket, with blots of cotton mixed in to keep them buoyant and prevent unintentional collision.
As they both quit laughing—his attention focusing in on the road ahead and Nadia suddenly forgetful of the plague wreaking havoc on her feet—the quiet hiss of the eggs could be heard. Whatever it was developing within them, it emitted this sullen spitting, penetrating through its shell at a volume just loud enough to hear in silence, but just silent enough to be swallowed by any mention of another sound (any other mention of sound).
Nadia gazed at the eggs, listening to them curse and whine, wondering if it was pain or hate that compelled them to make such sour tones.
“These things are so foul.” Nadia noted. Her companion nodded without looking. “Sure, but so are your feet.”
A smirk bit his face, and Nadia just shook her head smiling. At least she had him here. These eggs seemed rather harmless with him here.
1
The shells were golden, as if molded after myth and greed.
But why did they have to stay in the bathroom? On the sink, where they paired with their reflection to ensure a double flood of grotesque gold every time Nadia must floss her teeth or comb her hair? Why could they not be hidden somewhere out of sight—especially somewhere insulated so their acidic whispers could not be audible to anyone?
Especially to Nadia, who was in here simply to clean her feet, not hear the hissing of eggs she only agreed to transport because he had asked. No one else could have convinced her.
Her hope was that the droning drops of the bath faucet would wrestle the background noise to a comfortable hum, a soothing sensory song of automated splash and meditative whirl. Her plan functioned the way she intended—as soon as the metallic mouth started spraying its aquatic continuum, the noise of the eggs suddenly dispersed.
But they remained problematic in sight—they clung to her peripheral vision, a visual squid stretching its tentacles all around her attention.
Nadia prepared herself in front of the toilet rather than the mirror, quite resistant to being in the same reflection as these hideous eggs. Her companion rested in the adjacent room, a reasonably upheld hotel room which was lighted in decorative wallpapers depicting seashells and seahorses—a recently refurbished décor which imitated the appearance of something fancier than the price indicated.
But in spite of such comfortable accommodations, a thorn continued to reside in Nadia’s proverbial sides.
Those eggs, which strung such horrible tunes in the air and were plunged in equally offensive hue—a gold of unnatural paleness, something not gifted from heaven but from some otherworldly dimension where an affectionate spectrum does not exist, thus having to translate its previous color into one compatible with this reality, but without an actual frame of reference to consummate the translation. There was no color in this place that could suffice for these eggs. And the gold that they finally settled on was not even really matched to any credible source—it may have been a color you could recognize and possibly categorize, but only in a dissimilar demeanor, such as comparing the tides of ocean to the tides of flame.
These eggs had chosen a color that only pretended to be a color.
This imitative impression disgusted every sensibility Nadia possessed. But for whatever morbid condition ailing her, she could not bring herself to look away. And this only further repulsed her.
So, in response, she swathed a towel over the eggs, concealing them from view, then proceeded to peel herself bare and bathe. However, every once in a while, she still glanced at that mound of cerulean-cloth, knowing in her mind’s eye exactly what lay beneath, even though it had been deafened and buried. It was the power of a thought over a reality.
Nadia sighed. She desperately desired to change the course of her thoughts. She sunk into the porcelain tub, at first cold and crippling, awaiting its eventual completion.
The faucet drummed, and waves formed floor after floor of boiling bubbles, swirling in suds, molten layers of cleansing water swaying over her to and fro, steady and unhurried. The coldness was removed, replaced by rippling heat, almost as if blankets of temper were tenderly placed over her body, one after the other, building a tomb of liquid steam around her.
It was a reverse evaporation—the atmosphere condensation upon her, the dissolved now soluble again. Once free particles of hotness pinched from the sky and folded into pockets of wetness, spraying on Nadia’s body in a measured massage.
Finally, she was relaxing.
Her mind receded to memories—as a wandering mind is known to do. Instances made of time and place, proportioned to emotional heights, to moody lows, to kinetic propulsion of person and thing, interacting in a dream, where motion is unclear, and the most prominent aspect is how far away something so superbly significant can feel. That paradox of memory.
In hers, there was a beach.
On a day of stormy composition. Yet rain had held back, and a warm breeze flew swanlike across the scene. Deep hues of sapphire magma spiraling against the shore, not in rage but in prance.
How strange to see it cascading in the horizon, colliding with a sky of dreary steel, specks of blackened rust puncturing the clouds—much akin to dirt on feet. But it is not dark. Even through stormy screens, sunlight performs its duty and the world is visible in leaden beauty.
Nadia is there, in a dress.
A thing of red-clay converted to silk, with threaded jewels of turquoise. She is spinning in an unseen weaver’s wheel, their fingers rolling her around. But she is not dancing alone. For there is another, a man, joining her and twirling with her. His unbuttoned shirt is flurrying as he moves. Until at last, they spin into one another, joyous. They both laugh and tremble, collapsing onto the sand, their arms stuck together in a knot. And they lay there, tied together, unflinching, undisturbed—as if being made into a knot was their one true intention all along.
And these two human strings admire each other. So much so that when rain oscillates upon them, they do not even notice. In drenched, clustering sand, they reciprocate affection, lips lancing against each other, bodies tying together, their knot tightening ever more and more, until one has to wonder if you could ever untie them apart.
Nadia giggles. She remembers how unconcerned they were with ruining their respective garments. The clumps of damp sand encrusting both of their backs like the shells on a tortoise. But their torsos were untouched—so concerned with being wrapped so close to each other, no open space was possible. And the feeling of wet lips, uncaring to rain and sand, compressing themselves dry in the heat of faucet-fusion.
Then the deluge pours over, erupting across the smooth-sides, and Nadia jumps, startling herself.
In her delighted daydream, she had let the bath overfill, now overflowing onto bathroom tile. She leaps for the octagonal handle, carved of candied glass, halting the water and ending the storm.
Now she is alone again.
Except for that faint fuse, with its spark flickering forever. Though it never reaches its destination—it only barks continually, that sound of sparkling dust. Then Nadia’s state of dazed grace concludes abruptly, as she understands there is no dynamite-stick, but a collection of disgraceful eggs, unmuted. She wishes so much she could just boil them, get it over with.
Nadia loosens the drain, ignoring the eggs, her peaceful spa now tainted and confused.
Upset, she watches the water vanish piece by piece, until all that is, is a remainder of puddled past—a shallow spit of soap caught on the edge of indented drain. Reminiscent of gunk beneath toenails. Reminding her of scattered sand memories.
And those blasted eggs, hissing and hissing and hissing…
A space Nadia must escape.
She leaves the bathroom, still drenched but entombed by a bathrobe. She strides passed the bed where her companion remains asleep, his own body beneath a crypt of blankets and sheets, resting in infinite dreams in some unhurried afterlife. Snores ensuing.
Nadia has never quite contoured to his awful snoring, so steady and surly. She assumed after a certain period of time her ears would be accustomed to it, that she would barely notice his nasal belches as if they were blank booms. But this threshold proved unreachable, and every time Nadia hears it, she can never concentrate nor slumber.
Rain casts against the window. A shame because Nadia desires to peek outside, absorb the bounty of the natural world, refreshing and ravaging all at once. Storms have an unusual pull on the heart, which in turn, has an unusual way of peeling the body—unable to hide oneself anymore, becoming a spark of nude thunder.
Replacing one insensitive sound for another, Nadia crumbles in indolence, retreating to the bathroom, considering that she cannot smother her companion with a towel to stop his bleating, but she can at least inter the eggs to divisible hum. And from there, all she has to do is plead ignorance. So, back to the bathroom.
2
Back in the bathroom, Nadia is given a dress.
Even though she is still wet from the rain, she cannot reject such a gracious gesture, so she glues it to her skin to prevent it from slipping off. Then she is asked to dance.
“Are you sure? I don’t think I’m any good.” Nadia blushes. But it insists. “Okay—but only if you dance with me.”
Nadia extends her hand. She is taken by a presence and together they twirl and taper across the slippery tile. At first, they are sloppy, awkwardly jutting into corners or stepping over each other’s path. But eventually they adapt, they crease together, a makeshift rhythm developing between them, motion now momentum—bodies now ballet.
They dance ellipticals across the room, channeling each other’s orbits, certain not to collide, and certainly not to disrupt the beautiful gravity they have plumed. But Nadia, without intention or reason, happens to witness her feet, and by their gross gravitas, she plummets to the floor.
No more dancing.
Nadia sighs. All the vapors have disappeared. The bathroom is cold again. Shivering, she looks around for a towel. But the only one is placed over the dreadful eggs she despises so much. It seems as if Nadia has condemned herself to a fate of lying naked on the floor forever.
“I hate these eggs!” Nadia shouts.
Nobody is disturbed. Not even her companion, who continues his hibernation uninterrupted. It is just Nadia, alone, with that menacing mumble, ceaseless yet contained, the eggs still whining even under their threaded prison.
She accepts her misfortune and adjusts her position to sitting on the toilet lid, her bottom crippling from the icy white, but she seems unbothered.
Nadia angles her legs up, her feet poised on the bathtub ledge. She grabs a complimentary sponge and starts scrubbing her feet, up and down every crevice and crack, across entire soles and ankles and toe-folds. Precise, she does not move too rapidly—she takes the time to ensure perfection on her mission of erasing every negative note from her two feet.
The procedure has become habit, and habit lends itself to repetition becoming daydream. Daydream which lends itself to becoming habit, and habit which turns into the rituals of reality that bind us to corporeal certainty, whether consciously or not.
And isn’t that such a curious thing how the brain tricks you into believing what it wants you to believe, what it thinks is best, what it thinks is real—strangely contradicting what your conscious view sees? What you truly want?
Nadia never quite comprehended how her mind could repel in two alternate directions, as if the thing inside her skull was nothing more than a mere magnet, positive and negative pulses, rippling against each other, stuck in marrow-molded bondage, forced to reconcile petty differences and levitate in static vibration; a feigned vibrancy where thought and imagination and curiosity can pretend to be things of their own, when truly they are products of electrical folly. Nervousness.
And she absolutely did not comprehend the track of time either, which seemed to have evaporated, along with a patch of her skin, as suddenly she was stabbed by a searing sensation on her foot.
Wincing, she examined the cause, seeing that in her furious daze she had rubbed too heavily with the sponge, scraping off a small surface of her foot, now catalyzed in blood. It did not bleed in a traditional way, but due to the nature of the wound, seeped out of the area in knitted dots, scarlet-putty pushing through a weave.
Nadia grabbed the towel and padded her foot, but in doing so, permitted those dastardly eggs to breathe once more, and their breaths were just as constant and corrosive as ever. All they did was hiss, hiss, hiss…
Waves.
From sound and light. Sneaking up Nadia’s skin like little spiders of clustered vibration.
Into the green she goes.
Eaten up by trees, her hair yearning to be a leaf on her head, vibrant and veiny, waving and curling in verdant wind. Along a road she goes, feet swimming across the mud, her body moving like a tidal wave against a shoreless beach. Escape.
At the zenith of her path—an overlook, decorated in tufts of earthy hair and nails, with strewn logs and sharp boulders. A view of the remaining wood, its belly lunging up and down in tectonic reflux, aligned with pine and bark and brush, each ridge and valley adorning itself in its own personal collection of green.
Nadia approaches the edge of this cliff, which oversees the forest it is a part of as if separate from it.
A table is set, draped in a pretend-petal curtain, where anxious porcelain cups hold its quiet magma, blessed of roots stripped and shaken and seared. Her companion is there, holding a bouquet, so full of rainbow passion, an assortment of flowery praise that only Aphrodite could deserve—yet it is for Nadia, of all things!
A surprise picnic at the end of the world.
Her companion offers her a seat, which she does not refuse. The sky is elaborate in shades of violet and azure, a strange suffusion of dark and bright—a peripheral sunrise stuck in perpetual sunset. But it is not a fiery sun so much as it is a sun of shadows; yet everything under it is visible and vibrant. Only in a dream.
But Nadia does not listen to such negative inclinations, her attention purely focused on her companion, who sits beside her, his arm nestling against her shoulders, warm and safe. They both grab a cup of tea, ascend to touch and tip their fortunes to each other, then lifting to their lips to swallow it to oblivion—how odd to have stomachs, our own personal abyss within our body.
It tastes like angel-bath, sweet and mentholating, warm and exasperate in faith—the faith that this feeling would last forever.
For Nadia, it might as well, because every other moment after was nothing but pale failure.
And, especially, when her companion gazes into her eyes, without breaking away, with an amount of longing and affection so deep and infusive, she finds herself trembling, even though sight is only sight.
But she stares back at him, his face crinkling together almost like a cone, pointed directly at her, as if no surrounding sensation could deter him from this view. Not the mountains; not the sky; not the dream of universe complete. Only her—Nadia—and her face, however dirty or seemingly normal it may seem to her, is a boundless source of inspiration to him. And she feels enslaved by it, put in a bondage that is pleasantly accepted—a surrender, a submission.
Then the purples fade.
And light of fairy-blood returns, swirling and maddening.
Suddenly, trees are bleeding viridian, and their natural hue strolls unto review. Back into the green again, as Nadia feels a kiss, and disappears forever in trees of passion pleased.
But something is sour.
She does not remember his kiss being so acerbic, cutting her, leaving her in bled-refrain. What sort of perverted spring is this?
It stings. She wipes his saliva from her lips, but it bubbles on her fingertips, to the point of boiling. She grimaces, wondering why there is pain. She looks up to see her lover’s eyes vanished, and alone on this precipice. Her entire jaw is sliced away, sliver by sliver, her bones crackling, her muscles spoiling. Her face falls like rotten fruit from its frame, the heaviness of mold and rot too much for romantic gravity to bear. So it drops her all the way to a tomb of disgrace. Buried beneath the earth, there is Nadia’s love—a displaced view.
Nadia awakes. Returned from the green.
She is holding one of the eggs to her lips, kissing it.
In her trance, her mind had found folly in trying to replace the imaginary with an effigy of the real. Disgusted, she flings the egg away from her face, splattering it on the bathroom mirror, its sizzling insides leaving a repulsive stain. So bitter.
Nadia immediately invokes the sink, splashing water onto her face, trying to remove the taint from her mouth, still smoldering in a sourness of demonic proportions. As she spits, there is blood—not fantastical illusion or fanciful daydream, but actual, fetid blood.
“I hate these fucking eggs!” Nadia screams, her throat convulsing in rage.
Nobody responds. Except, of course, the eggs, which hissed and hissed and hissed…
3
There once was a time when Nadia was loved.
The way a person should be loved. The way a foot is loved by the hand that cleans it. So thoroughly and carefully, so unpretentiously unconditional—just doing what it needs to do to make everything clear and happy again.
Whatever it takes, Nadia used to think. For the sake of clean feet.
Nadia snickered. That was not at all what she used to think. How could one remember so far away?
Those distant shores of memory, where every cleft of sand looks the same as every buried barnacle. Where is the savior ship come to rescue us from pity and pernicious regret?
Marooned on a beach of unused life, wallowing through our scorn like gulls picking through twigs, snapping and scuttling over branch and jewel, trying to find our prize, our possession of perfect scene and elation. That moment when our lives essentially defined themselves, and everything after relegated to the fade— our true revelation of this story we continue to scribe.
But Nadia, no matter how much she scoured, could not find this missing trinket, of which she thought for sure would finally unravel the mystery of Nadia.
Was it the first day of school when she threw up on the classroom floor, a nervous bile overtaking her when the teacher asked her to introduce herself?
It should have been a simple, ‘Hello, my name is Nadia.’
But instead, it was a terrible mosaic of gulp and gruel. So embarrassing.
No, surely, it was in her feet. The mark of her miraculous moment. When they were still young paws, so fresh from hatching they still had webbing on them...
Nadia wanted to be a ballerina.
One of those composed and captured creatures, ignoring the chaos of the world around them, performing a movement of perfected grace and graceful ritual. Every step a note on the composition’s line, leading a symphony of shape and swerve, never letting itself become consumed by any emotion or nonsense which would disrupt its willful path.
An offering to the gods of geometry, aligning your feet in a poise more perfect than constellation, moving in the same seasonal march of ebb and flow—repeating, repeating, repeating. This is the dance of no-dance. A motion of purpose.
Until it is over.
Until a cormorant appears, and Nadia, too far gone in her ellipsis, trips right over the flurried thing, spiraling through the air, over the side of edible stage. Now, she is drifting into the black, gravity’s charms dispersed, composer’s graciousness displeased.
Until suddenly, she emerges from the black unto the blue—a crystal shore she has seen before, the only sound being that of pant and wave. And there is the feathered imp, whose beak is whistling to her demise, as she pours onto the beach.
“If only you could fly...” the cormorant says.
Nadia scoops herself up from the sand, wincing. “Must be nice.”
The cormorant fluffs its wings then takes to flight, soaring high above the earth it mocks.
Nadia’s foot vibrates in pain, every muscle and tendon and ligament ringing a rapacious storm of ache. Before she can soothe her pain, however, Nadia’s mother comes and grabs her hand, leading her away.
Nadia cringes with every step, her left foot refusing to touch ground, her right one barely stable and straining as it is dragged along.
“Your father’s gone—not that he was ever here...”
Nadia’s mother puffs a cigarette. There are no other kids in the hospital room. Only passed and broken people. Corpses.
Nadia rubs her toes, trying to allay the bristling numbness in them. She thinks perhaps her mother should be holding her in her arms or something, nestling her into motherly bosom, patting her on the head with lips and whispering how everything will be alright and the pain will go away.
But Nadia looks up and sees her mother puffing a cigarette, watching the wall, complaining how much of a waste of time it is they have to be here. Then she looks at Nadia, scowling.
“This all your fault. You should have been paying attention—you’re never paying enough attention, Nadia!”
And maybe she was right—because Nadia suddenly realized she had been standing on the bathroom tile for far too long.
The inner scars of her feet began to flare up again, so she took a seat on the toilet and lifted her left leg, her hands desperately massaging her flesh, trying to ameliorate an old wound. The eggs watched her, and she despised how they lay witness to her weakness. Now they knew her fiercest flaw. They would probably use it against her—if they could.
But they were just eggs, right? Just eggs that only hiss and hiss and—
Nadia called for her companion but there was no response. She desired to deign him to fetch a bucket of ice for her from down the hall. Was he still sleeping?
Nadia shouted again. And again, he did not reply.
The eggs grew louder, as if trying to answer in his place, and Nadia spat at them out of spite. Then she gripped onto the sink and raised herself up, limping out into the room. But it was empty.
“Where the hell did he go?” Nadia muttered aloud. Then she sighed.
There was once a time when Nadia was loved.
When he cared enough to always be called. To be there for whatever she needed.
During a period of a particularly grisly flare-up, he would rub cooling ointment on her feet every night, his fingers unafraid to peel into every hidden spot, pushing her bones and blood to comfortable stasis. He always knew how to subside her pain—he never protested to coddling her feet either.
After he left, Nadia had to mend her own feet. Her youthful damage both unforgiving and never forgetful. No agony was greater than when her companion departed, however. A cut on the physical self is nothing compared to a rending of the heart—the unseen epicenter of all feeling and worth.
With him, she had felt like she had value. Without him, she was nothing but dirty feet. How hard it was to have herself be heartbroken by him. To find him the way he was—she stopped herself.
Nadia did not want to return to this feeling. Now that he was returned, she would do anything to keep it that way. Even if meant dealing with those ghastly eggs—that’s why she had said yes.
And Nadia exceptionally loathed those damned eggs.
She staggered through the door into a hallway, which peeked both ways in endless doors and floor, none of them unique, enslaved by pattern. She was concerned where he had gone, but she also knew her primary focus was to end the unease throbbing in her left hoof.
Nadia peered right, assuming the ice-machine was down there, because she recalled that is where the elevator had been, so other amenities must be nearby.
She leaned against the wall, wobbling along, careful not to bang into someone else’s door, for fear they would wake, that they would appear and harass her in marvelous temper. But she also took care not to apply pressure to her left foot, where the injury was sourced and had been most severe.
Her right was still strong in many ways, although its largest toe had been shattered then in her youth as well. So now she walked awkwardly so as not to upset it and reawaken its hindered might.
Altogether, Nadia looked like quite the circus clown stumbling down the hallway. Almost falling on herself every other hinge, wafting through diluted air like a dumb cloud, constantly astray. How did it come to this?
There was a time once when Nadia was loved.
When she did not have to wrestle with hallways. When the earth did not stifle beneath her feet. When lovers brought ice—when she had a lover at all. She stops, leaning against the wall with one arm. Panting. Suddenly, a familiar sound—though not a friendly one. A stretching sound. Sinister and expanding. Slithering between her legs and beneath her body. On and on until the entire hallway is swimming in it. Nadia, fearful, almost falls down. It feels like walls around her are shivering, a stinging chill. Viscous vibrations inundate her. Even the waves in the air become feverish. And then there it is—hallways hissing. Nadia, totally shattered, but saved by a flight of energy, lets her pain sprout into wings and compel her forward on its frenetic wind. She begins scrambling, wobbling in a frenzy, arm rowing against the wall and her one good leg hopping heavy steps. Edges of light behind can be seen scattering in its shadows ahead of her, silhouetted in the form of an unfathomable thing, a body of a beast so terrifying just its reflection pierces Nadia’s heart every step forward she takes. What horrible thing has hatched in this place? Suddenly, another familiar sound—the mellow notes of an ancient folk song, which Nadia happens to know the melody of. Like it is playing just for her. But the rest of the memory still clouded. She recognizes it; quickens her pace toward it. Anything to deafen out that hiss of eternal doom. That splintering of soul that follows her everywhere she goes, enveloping itself in her flesh, in her very being, until she is shrouded by it. A cloak of gore. Dissolution. There it is—that open door, pink and blue light casting out from it in the ever darker and blurrier hallway. Just like she remembers. Into it she goes—into an underworld of nostalgic void. Standing in the doorway entrance, now entered, she closes the door to the hallway. No more hissing. That gentle folk vocal weaves in. Those sweet strums of mountain love and lake calm. A natural hymn. Alluring. Nadia gazes at the pink and blue light now painting her body. Both familiar shades. She looks up to see the pane of a room, and a shadowed corner blocking her vision. Next to her, a dark and empty bathroom. This hotel room—I remember this room, Nadia thinks. Curiously wistful. The pain her foot still retaining, but fainter. She lags closer, every inch expanding her view of the room and diminishing the shadow of the corner of the wall. An oak table, three used glasses full of wine stains, beside a half-bled bottle. A chair with a cushion, assorted strips of clothing strewn about it. Then the corners of a bed, sheets sundering. Nadia inches nearer and nearer, breath draining into back of her throat as if preparing a gasp in anticipation. So, for what? Finally, she turns around the corner, and sees her horror. There he is—her loving, devoted companion—slathering over another woman, angel-faced demon of blonde desire, the both of them naked and engaged in erotic trance. Nadia screams. Her companion does not notice her, his head buried in the other woman’s tomb—but she looks up, stares at Nadia and smiles, blows a kiss while winking. Then she returns to moaning and fawning all over him, like a deer trapped underneath a boulder. A spider weaving its prey in sweaty web. Hissing in his ear. Nadia runs out of the room. Back into the hallway, ambushed by an eruption of hissing, those damn eggs blistering into her mind in inescapable flashes. She clasps her head with her hands, frantically stumbling toward her room, all her previous pain nullified by needles of adrenaline. Turning her head inside out. She can’t even hear her own screaming over the sound of this hissing. Nadia collapses into her room, shattering into the bathroom, seeing those dreadful eggs sitting there in punishing flames. Despite all the rippling nerves in her body, she grabs the basket of eggs, takes it out into the bedroom, and slings them out the bedroom window, letting gravity grasp them and crush them far down upon its immediate earth. Destroyed forever. Exploding on the concrete in a dance of denouement. Nadia unleashes the cry of a bat, shrieking. Then she falls onto the bed, whole body entangled by pain, her foot so swollen its bubbling and bursting in blood. Crying. Over now. Nothing hisses. Only the sound of her sobbing. Of heartbeat in crescendo, then descending to crippling silence. And it languishes on, for what seems like hours but is only fragments of a little time, not quite mature enough to constitute a length of being. There is Nadia—just Nadia. Breathing. Emptied of tears. Aftershocks of pain dragging but dwindling. But she doesn’t stay alone forever. After this while, she realized her mistake. What will he say when he comes back—when he sees I got rid of the eggs? How could she ever explain herself? Would he understand and forgive her? Her mind was controlled by these thoughts—panic, paranoia compulsive loathing. She had to assure herself what she just saw was only an illusion—a product of those damned eggs. He would never do that again—her companion had repented, and she had forgiven him. Devotion was all she could see! She’d do whatever it takes she told herself. Whatever he wanted—forget what she wanted. She’d give up being Nadia. There was once a time when Nadia had desires of her own, but the loneliness had scared that out of her a long time ago. And the brokenness had cursed her to obey only doom. She would never make another mistake again—he’d never have another reason to leave again. Not like last time. He could put a blade in her hand and push it up to her throat, tell her to pull it at the snap of his fingers, and she’d do that magic trick a million times over if she could. Anything to keep away the hissing. Anything to be loved. Anything to have him hold her up again, carry her every limb if he has to, and dance with her one last time—forever.

Reinier Zonneveld talks Church of Clubmusic, Filth on Acid, live improvisation and what sets him apart.
The exceeding gifted Dutch musician, DJ and producer kick-starts a busy tour season in support of his third and most notable album to date “Church of Clubmusic,” is scheduled to perform live, playing only his music except for some remixes at Thuishaven — Amsterdam. Followed by a two-day appearance at next month’s, Drumcode Festival in his hometown. Before embarking on the “Filth on Acid” label worldwide tour, Reinier will host his label’s showcase at ADE, where he will play live for 12 hours.
Hello Reinier! Thank you for making some time to speak to us!
For our readers who aren’t familiar with your music, can you tell us a little bit about your path to becoming an artist?
I started playing piano when I was 3. I’ve been basically listening and playing around with music my whole life. When I was around 10 years, I got my hands on a copy of Reason 1, and in the beginning of course had no idea how it worked. But with playing around with the functions which I really liked, I began to make some recordings. This was all just on the side as a hobby, but when I went to my first real techno party when I moved out of my parents house, I was 16 or just 17, I knew that that was what I wanted to do. The very next day I started working on it, and since then I’ve been producing and playing techno (and sometimes other electronic music styles to keep it diverse). I used to play a lot of illegal raves all around the Netherlands, and from time to time official gigs at clubs and festivals. By 2011 I did my first release, and in 2015 my music got played by a lot of the biggest names in the scene; Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, Richie Hawtin, etc. In 2016 I released a record “Rushchamber” which included “Sharp Bust” on Oliver Koletzki’s Stil vor Talent. Suddenly I made the step from sporadious gigs to touring full time, and I’ve been touring ever since.
Some of your work marries your classical background with detailed elements. How much experimentation does it take to create that balance…or do you just manage to do it instinctively?
I think this came as a result of playing (and writing) classical music, these influences will always come out one way or another. To get it right is another thing, I spend a lot of time trying things and also thinking about how you can combine melodies on the foreground with something that also bangs on a dance floor.
You recently released your third album “Church of Clubmusic.” What’s different this time? How has your process changed, if at all?
My first album, Reverse Psychology was very much focused around hypnotic / experimental techno and ambient. My second album Megacity Servant was build around melodic techno with some tech house influences. For my third album “Church of Clubmusic” I really wanted to showcase a more diverse album, that takes the listener on a trip and showcases the many electronic styles I love to produce. Something very suited for home listening, while also having tracks on it that work good in clubs and festivals. I included reworks of tracks that I made over 10 years ago, but also fresh cuts from half a year old.
On the most notable track on Church of Clubmusic…
I think that ‘Hard Gaan’ is definitely the highlight. It once started as a live improvisation in a dark club in Berlin, somewhere in the morning at the end of 2016. I suddenly turned the BPM up to 145 during my set, put an extreme distortion on the kick drum, and played the sequence of the track from a synthesizer. People started asking me at every show if I would do the crazy thing they heard or saw online from that night. And it happened that every show I did a completely live variation of just that. The track evolved and every version was different. Then at Awakenings festival in 2017 I closed the set with it, and it completely blew up the crowd (this video went viral online and is seen by tens of millions of people now) and decided to give it a name: ‘Hard Gaan’ — which means literally going hard.
On how Filth on Acid started…
Together with my very good friend Axel (who is now also my manager), we were always talking about how we would like to start a label. We got the idea for the name from a track we did together back in 2014 (Reinier Zonneveld & Axan — Filth on Acid). Axel focuses mostly on the backside of the label, but we always discuss all the ideas and plans we have together. The A&R I always do by myself alone, I like to have full control over the music we release. We knew one thing for sure: no compromises on quality, put in maximum effort and try to get people and other artists involved into the sound I was doing. No compromises for us for example means that all our cover art is hand drawn by a dedicated artist, for every single release. In the beginning this approach was a bit stressful, since a label only costs money until you stream / sell a lot of music, and especially so if you want to everything the best as we could. We invested all our savings in it. Then we’re super happy to see immediately from the first release on super good support from artists and the audience on what we were doing, and I could invite some of my favorite artists to do a release together or solo, with as the big highlight the collaborations with Carl Cox; last year Inferno and this year a 3 track EP in June that is released on 28 June.
Can you name some notable artists on your radar right now? What draws you to their work?
I really love what Mees Salomé is doing. For me he is one of the producers in the electronic scene with the best feeling for melody; the perfect balance between emotion and danceable music. The music can really grab you, while at the same time exploding a dance floor at a club and festival.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
Your music is usually a melting pot of genres, do you have a vision for the final product when you start, or do you discover it during the process?
Usually I start a track when I already have an idea in my head. This could be a melody, a sound, a rhythm. Whenever I get an idea like that I record it on my phone (imagine me singing a techno track in a full airplane at 8AM) or better; I take out my laptop or quickly go to my studio to start sketching out the main ideas of the track. This doesn’t have to be techno, if I get a nice idea for a hip-hop track or an ambient piece I would do the same.
What did you learn while making ‘Church of Clubmusic?’
I really learned to think more about track order and storytelling with a lot of tracks combined. Instead of just putting the most popular tracks on top (which is often done with regular club EPs), for an album you really have to think about the path a listener takes through your music.
Arguably, there are a lot of producers in the scene. Your work, however, always stands out to me. How do you feel you’ve been able to create a unique “sound” and style with your body of work over the years? What sets “Reinier Zonneveld” apart?
Thank you! In the past I used to hear from a lot of people that I should focus on fitting my music into a certain sound of a label. I tried to do this, but it killed my creativity. At some point I started to let this idea go, and that’s when for me a whole new world opened. I just make whatever I feel like and I’m way happier with the music I make now because of it. By working this way you really open up the way for getting the sound that is inside your mind out in your recordings. Next to that I think the fact that I play only live, touring a very big amount of gigs every year, means that I have always feedback from the crowd on all the techno tracks I make. Some of them I might play 1 or 2 times to be just used for some obscure loop in my sets later on, some I feel really work and these get adjusted by remembering how I change during my live sets and implementing that for the final release. Finally, I think an important aspect in my sound is that I do everything on my own: writing the track, producing, sound design, mixing and mastering, so you very much hear exactly how I want my techno tracks to sound, without the influence of for example an external mastering engineer.

On his favorite space at home…
In front of my speakers in the living room.
On essential tools in the studio…
Good monitoring and room acoustics.
To cap off our interview, what does the rest of the year have in store for you?
There are so many good things coming, which I’m really happy and thankful for. My touring schedule is very, very busy and I’ll bring my music all around the world for the rest of the year. Some highlights for me are definitely being a resident for Awakenings, Cercle on the 1st of July in Kiev, and also my own Filth on Acid parties. On the FOA parties, I play all day or all night long live. I bring out a lot of machines from my studio, like the classic Roland gear: TR909, TB303, TR606, SH101, the Moog Sub37, and some boutique synthesizers and drum computers. I will play only music by me (with the occasional remix I did of course), showing the full spectrum of my sound. At Thuishaven Amsterdam I’ll play 10 hours all day long, and at Amsterdam Dance Event I’ll do 12 hours all night and morning. We’ll bring these shows after the success of Filth on Acid Berlin also to the rest of the world (more cities to be announced soon).
There you have it folks. Electronic music’s modern day Mozart is on a field of his own. Don’t take my word for it, go see for yourself — catch the cerebral sensation live.

@ichxgo:
He’s not in a good position to bite you any more. He kind of likes your threats though, and so he smirks again, maybe with a little more mischief. “Maybe you have to keep threatening because you never actually follow through with any of them.” But that sort of innocent way you look at your arm makes him snort, genuinely amused, and he nods. “Tan lines,” is the explanation he gives, and he reaches down to slide his waistband down another inch, so you can see the faint line already forming. He grins. “Not unless I try licking you in unexpected places?” But his humor evaporates, because of all the things you could’ve asked, he wasn’t expecting that. And you don’t stop at the first question. He would’ve been less stunned if you’d punched him outright. “What are you talking about?” He pulls up short, not liking how that sounded. “It doesn’t. It doesn’t change anything you don’t want it to change. I wouldn’t give that piece of shit that much power over us.” He’s little more than growling it out by the end, all of his carefully structured calm splintered as his anger boils over. “I’m…” He has to swallow back the acid in his mouth and lower his tone. “I’m—“ He can’t even get it out, teeth grinding and fists clenched. How can he explain that he’s most angry that the result of you lowering your guard for anyone, that the result of the things he likes most about you, was something like that? He closes his eyes, trying to push back all the images his mind throws up. It’s little more than bouncing between how that scene might’ve played out and what he’d like to do about all of it. In the end, he ends up with his jaw clenched and a furious stare turned into the distance. He knows you need something from him, he knows what you’re asking, but the harder he tries to get something out, the more he realizes how vast his fury is. He doesn’t have any forgiveness in him for this. But as he stays still and the moments tick by, he remembers something Renji once told him. “You didn’t lose. You’re alive. It’s not over. You can still do something about it if you want. He took something from you, if you don’t want to kill him, let me.” For something nearly snarled out, he’s dangerously close to begging permission. He closes his eyes, he didn’t answer the questions. Not all of them. And they’re important. You went through the trouble of asking them. “You’re as strong as you were yesterday before I knew. No, I don’t think less of you.” He thinks less of himself, because he’s here, lying out on a beach while that filth is walking free.
He snorts, “I never follow through ‘cause you always give in and give me what I want before I have to.” To be fair, what he wants from you is almost always something you don’t seem to mind giving. The threats of violence are really just part of the fun at this point. “Oh. Tan lines.” He moves his arm long enough to run a finger along the faint mark, not that there’s anything to feel. He shoots you a mildly embarrassed look, “You can lick wherever you want, I just like knowin’ ahead of time.” But a second later, he can’t meet your attention and instead of pushing his arm back around you, he tucks it up against his chest between them, feeling uncomfortably exposed when all that anger is so readily heard in your voice, too exposed to leave himself as open as that, and too exposed not to stay pressed close. There’s a slight nod and a low, “I don’t want it to change anything.” But he suspects you already know that. He wouldn’t know how to handle it if you thought differently of him. He can’t possibly know what’s going through your mind, but he can feel how tense you’ve gotten, how the air around them has changed. It makes him shift slightly, restlessly, as he waits for you to say something, though he’s still unwilling to put space between them, feeling an overwhelming need to preserve whatever contact he can get from you. He wouldn’t know how to explain the need for it, other than it feels like the safety and comfort of his nest, but instead of being a defensible position, it’s you. He’s starting to think you’ve said all you have to say, when you finally speak. It’s nothing he hasn’t already realized himself, but if he hadn’t wanted the reassurance, he wouldn’t have felt compelled to ask. He nods against you, teeth grinding for a moment, “I know. I want- I’ll let you-” He pushes out a somewhat frustrated sound. “I don’t know what I want. I’m torn between lettin’ you do whatever you want and wantin’ to tear him apart devour him piece by piece myself.” But in either case, he’s come to terms with hunting the hollow down. “I know you don’t wanna be here.” He doesn’t know how to thank you for doing it anyway, “You’re not rushin’ me and I... appreciate that.”

Somehow Eve'Varra managed to get back to the beach. Her body was heavy and she was drained. Her armor feeling heavier then ever before. She wasn't sure how much more steps she could take. The others were taking the survivors over to the boats to be taken to safety. She watched them on for a few brief moments, her eyes stinging from the ash and smoke. She moved in over to her tent to strip off some of the pieces of armor, taking a lung full of air as she seemed to have forgotten to even breath. The salty air refreshing in comparison to the stale air before. Her body was numb, perhaps from the overbearing weight as it simply wore her out. Everything felt automatic, she could barely feel aware of herself as she moved from the tent to move along the beach. Her hooves sinking into the dirt, it almost making it difficult to walk and support herself. Her tail tensing as it braced and balanced herself. She looked back to ensure no one was near by as she came along to the rocks of the nearby mountain separating Ashenvale from Darkshore. Moving in around some she found a spot she could let the vile boiling in her stomach expel and fall upon the rocks. Using the cliff face as support as she braced and steadied herself. She had thought she had become use to the smell of acid, smoke and all the most foul of smokes, fires or sulfurs known coming from a dead planet. But the rot and burning of flesh was just something that would always set in heavily in the soul and always remain a most foul scent. Her body shuddered and shivered in over itself. Her knees bending as she lowered herself down. One hand holding her hair back as she wheezed and gagged on her sick. Trying to pull herself together and through the pain wiggling in her body. Her body heaving as it worked through the motions. She pushed from the rocks to sit down, turning from her vile as waters soon rose to wash away the filth. If only she could ever become clean so easily, if only the sites her eyes came upon could fade so easily. Be lifted and pulled away from her, taken so far away it would become nothing as it spread and died away. Her eyes fell upon the camp. She began to envy Lyn'dara and Aursuna, she had hoped their love for each other will be what supports and holds them strong for the coming days. The timing seeming to work as if magic. She knew they would both need each other going forward, that was made clear today. She would have to hope Lyn'dara could pull herself through and remember to stand against Aursuna when the time comes if she was to act out of her place again. Lyn'dara was not to fall into herself again. She sighed over such thoughts, turning to the waters and putting her hands within to splash it in over her face to take away some of the soot and sweat. Would she be strong enough for everyone? The thought struck in through her, as if a fear began to swell within herself. Pushing her body in against the rocks she tried to calm her breathing as she pushed the fear aside to try and not let it gain control over herself. Soon it would be time to steel herself more, again and again. There was still much to do and so much more to be doing. She let her have this moment of weakness, she allowed the tears of those lost come and wash over her. She let the waves of her emotions crash in and soon be taken from her and drift away to be lost in the seas she'd never venture in. As the moment passed through her, she met the gaze of the moon above. It's light looked faded and empty. Perhaps Elune was weeping for her people as well. "What does a God feel for it's people when they suffer?" She spoke softly aloud, hesitating a moment before moving from the rocks and making her way back to camp. She would need to pack up her things and be ready for their retreat. Some things were to change. For the better she prayed.

Final Monster/Enemies List
Finally, I made up my mind of what creatures do, and which don’t appear in my project. This time it feels more finished than other times. I cut a lot of creatures from the list and added a lot of new faces to the list. I’ve added some small sentence underneath each creature, giving only one small example of what makes them special and awesome in the project.
This list doesn’t contain the bosses/unique creatures and friendly creatures, they will be posted later, working on them.
Again, most of these creatures come from Mythology, Folklore, Fantasy and Cryptid-Sightnings, but in my project “ probably named Mythika” they have other appearances, abilities, stories and forms, while at least a couple of features remain as in the real myth, rarely they are changed beyond recognition.
I’m really sorry for the length of this post! And if you hate long posts this post is not for you! ;-)
A Bao A Qu (Malay) – Elemental / Ooze - These beautiful ooze monsters feed on Charisma, leaving the victim misshapen and ugly, while becoming more beautiful themselves. Aatxe (Basque) – Undead / Spirit - These ghostly bulls target sinners before all other enemies, their aura’s are red and that color makes them furious. Abaia (Melanesian) – Beast / Fish - Abaia view themselves as protectors and mothers of all other lake creatures and destroy unwanted guests with monsoons and tsunami’s. Adaro (Solomon Island) – Humanoid / Beastman / Fish - These marlin-like merfolk become more aggressive and powerful during monsoons and storms. Adaro, Zitiron (French) – Humanoid / Beastman / Fish - Their bodies are protected by an organic form of metal which forms around their fragile bodies when they touch water. Afanc (Welsh) – Beast / Chimerae / Reptilian - Chimerae beasts that combine the features of beavers and crocodiles, sharing the creativity of the beaver with the aggression and power of the crocodile. Afanc, Bunyip (Australian) – Beast / Chimerae / Reptilian - Larger than the Afanc, these combine the features of beavers and ancient reptiles. They have two large sabretooth-like fangs. Agemo (African) – Beast / Reptilian - Rhino-sized Chameleons which use their ability to change color to become invisible and to stalk and hunt for humanoid prey. Agrippa (French) – Construct / Spirit - Summon-based Agrippa can absorb slain creatures into their pages, so they can summon them in future battles. Agropelter (Fearsome Critter) – Aberration - They are champions in throwing, their whip-like arms are very suited for throwing wood splinters, they seldom miss their target. Ahkiyyini (Inuit) – Undead / Skeleton - Whenever the Ahkiyyini plays its infernal instruments the waves begin to dance to the beats, creating destructive tidal waves. Ahkiyyini, Citipati (Tibetan) – Undead / Skeleton - Whenever these twin-skeletons begin to dance, nature seems to dance with them, destroying all in its path. Ahool (Indonesian) – Beast / Chimerae - They are often kept as familiars and pets by evil warlocks that enjoy their kleptomaniac behavior and even make great use of it. Ahuizotl (Aztec) – Beast / Chimerae - Ahuizotl lure prey to the water’s edge with their mimicry ability, then grab and drown them with their bizarre tail which ends in a claw. Ahuizotl, Ugjuknarpak (Inuit) – Beast / Chimerae - An albino cold-based version of the Ahuizotl which has a very tough pelt which is almost impossible to pierce with most weapons. Aitvaras (Lithuanian) – Dragon / Shifter - An Aitvaras appearance and size is always adopted to the environment it is currently in, falling in a river will grant them fins for example. Akaname (Japanese) – Aberration - Disgusting, filthy and pathetic creatures that feed on the filth and garbage of other creatures with their long, acid dripping tongues. Akheilos (Greek) – Beast / Fish - When they smell blood in the water, these monstrous and intelligent sharks fly into a furious frenzy. Akheilos, Tiburon (Philippine) – Beast / Fish - These monstrous sharks use their wing-like fins to levitate out of the water and grab prey which thought they were safe on land. Akheilos, Utelif (M-European) – Beast / Fish - While these monstrous sharks have less evolved teeth, the giant saw-like nose of these fish is feared by even the most brave of sailors. Akheilos, Isonade (Japanese) – Demon / Oni / Spirit - Isonade use their hook-like fins as fishing rods, jumping from the water and hooking victims from ships or even from beaches. Akhekh (Egyptian) – Beast / Chimerae / Avian - The evil cousins of the Royal Griffons, these dark creatures are among the favorite pets of the God of Darkness Set. Akhekh, Keythong (M-European) – Beast / Chimerae / Avian - The male species of the Akhekh, they are without wings and instead have long, poisonous quills running down their backs and tails. Akkorokamui (Japanese) – Aberration / Cephalopod - Enormous octopi which use their eight powerful tentacles to hunt from whales and humanoids in the depths of the dark oceans.
