The fog hung over the loch, the witch standing in her usual morning spot, amber hues staring into a white abyss and there was a peace that came with it. Her hands rubbing gently at her belly, a pressure that been forming the last couple days in her pelvis area, the healer letting her know that the babies had dropped. It was too soon for that to happen, in her opinion, but she was warned that they could be making their appearance at any time.

Two Kneazels stood at her sides, taking to following her every step since they were purchased, now doubled in size. A deep breath inhaled through her nose, that went she went to exhale, water could be felt trickling down her legs. Eyes widen in horror, thoughts forming seconds later that her water had broken. Not far from the manor, the two kneazles spirit ahead whislt she made her way back. Not now, not now. All information given about the birthing process thrown away and all she mattered was she made it back before they were born.

It was Rabastan that met her outside the manor back door, the kneazels alerting him of something, that she explained what had happened. A sudden tightness in her stomach had her halt in her steps, an intense pain hitting her. Her knees buckled, eyes clenching shut, and she grit her teeth, finding herself breathing after it subsided forty-seconds later. He was able to help her up to their room, their healer summoned.

Morning turned to afternoon, and afternoon turned to late evening, that two little ones were placed into her and Rabastan's arms. She looked on awe of the two beings that they had created, the perfection that were them, that she could dismiss the hours of labour she endured, the excruciating pain from the contractions, and the natural birth of pushing not one, but two, of them out of her. She laid in their bed once the original mess was dealt with, the healer explaining how the night would be and he would be by in the morning, and couldn't tear her eyes off of them.

She turned to Rabastan, who held their daughter, their son in her arms. "They are perfection." Which was given being they had Carrow and Lestrange blood coursing through them. "Our sweet Rhadamanthus Corvus and Asteria Eris."

Yang quickly runs down the gentle slope, reaching the patch of faded green grass that fringes the water's edge. The loch stretches out before her, its waters shimmering under the warm summer sun. Large hills border the horizon. A soft breeze dances through the air, caressing her skin and causing tiny ripples to form on the water's surface. It carries with it the delicate fragrance of wildflowers, infusing the atmosphere with a subtle sweetness.

"Yang, wait!" Blake's voice echoes urgently from behind, causing Yang to abruptly spin around, her heart racing. The basket she clutches threatens to slip from her grasp as her eyes find themselves looking at Blake descending the grassy incline.

Suddenly, Yang realises that she doesn’t care for the view of the loch anymore, because, as she’s standing here, looking at the girl in front of her, she realises the world around her pales in comparison.

Blake's dark locks sway gracefully in the breeze, defying the chaos that should accompany such movement. Each strand dances with perfect harmony as if choreographed exclusively for her. The ears atop her head flatten against her scalp as she tentatively navigates the terrain, her expression betraying both caution and purpose. The skirt of her dress billows around her legs, sunflowers adorning the white fabric.

“Are you just going to stand there?” Blake says as she reaches the bottom of the incline. “We did come here for a picnic, after all.”

“Right, yes.” Yang laughs awkwardly. She sets the basket down on the grass next to her feet and goes over to Blake, reaching out to take one end of the blanket.

As Yang reaches out to take it, her fingers brush Blake’s and she immediately pulls her hand back instinctively. “S-Sorry…” She mutters before reaching out to take a different section of the rolled-up blanket.

“Yang… we’re here on a date… you can hold my hand if you want.” Despite the smile in Blake’s voice, she’s unable to hide the way her cheeks begin to flood with a pinkish colour.

“I… I know…” Yang’s eyes meet the glistening golden gems of Blake’s and it feels like her heart is about to stop. Butterflies begin to flutter inside her stomach. “It’s… going to take some getting used to.”

“I know.” Blake smiles as she begins to unfurl the blanket, setting it down on the grass. There’s a simplicity to her words, the kind of simplicity that just lets Yang know that Blake understands exactly what Yang’s feeling. The uncertainty of actually getting together after so long, it’s enticing, it’s addictive… it’s terrifying.

BIOGRAPHY:

Born some time after his brother, Rabastan’s purpose as the second child was twofold: to be the spare, and to give his mother something to dote on while his father was occupied with Rodolphus. In this way, it was hoped that he would be a girl. But alas, he was another son, and much to his mother’s chagrin, he was naturally more like his father than she had dared to dread. Young Rabastan showed little need for affection or companionship from the adults in his life. He was a quiet child, lacking emotion and content to indulge in his own company, occupying himself alone for hours without complaint. The only person he allowed into his personal games was Rodolphus. Blood was the thickest bond after all, and their blood could not be any more alike.  For years, he watched as his father molded Rodolphus and encouraged his aggressive pride and relentless ambition. Jealousy was never on Rabastan’s mind. He didn’t crave his father’s attention or envy his brother’s place as the heir. Rabastan greeted this way of life with cold apathy. He simply accepted his place and gripped the cards that fate had dealt him with an increasingly iron fist. He understood that everything had its correct place and purpose. He favoured order, logic and tradition. He loathed anomalies and change, and therefore he grew to despise those who threatened the ancient bloodlines and the position of their families at the top of the social tree; muggles and mudbloods were actively loathed before he even set foot in Hogwarts. Birthright became an almost religious belief.  It was only when the Dark Lord began to rise to power that his father turned his sight onto his younger son, deciding to steer him more violently towards becoming a Death Eater. The endeavour was not unwelcome, but it was unnecessary. Rabastan knew what his father was, and he was already willing to devote himself to the same cause. He saw nothing more valuable than ensuring a future worthy of the Lestranges’ status. So, at school he studied hard and, unlike many of his Slytherin compatriots, he preferred to glide under the radar, biting his tongue in public and expressing his malcontented opinions from the shadows. One would not find Rabastan openly cursing mudbloods. But if harm mysteriously befell them, he would certainly be high on the list of possible culprits and he would deny responsibility with an arrogance so strong that it pierced even his remarkably icy demeanour.  Excelling in arithmancy and ancient runes, and having an unhealthy interest in dark magic, Rabastan is now a Curse-Breaker alongside being a Death Eater. He takes pleasure in studying the oldest forms of cruel magic and twisting them to fit the Dark Lord’s purposes. He travels frequently for his work, which offers a useful front when the Dark Mark’s delicious summon trickles through his veins like the purest ecstasy. Full of vigour and fierce aspiration, he pursues the war incessantly, determined to carve a world that is worthy of pureblood supremacy.

Got this really nice sketchbook for Christmas (along with coloring pens/markers); and my impulsive, artsy-starved brain got this challenging idea of filling it up before the end of the year (consider it as one of my New Years Resolution).

It’s been so long since I touched pencil and markers (not counting my work doodles and inktobers), it just feels nice and refreshing to me. I already put a couple drawings in before the end of 2023, but here’s my very first doodle for 2024. Eris paying a visit to her sea lochness friend (I think I’ll call her Renesmee)…

Bessie the lake Erie monster. Lake Erie is not the smallest of the Great Lakes but it is the most shallow. Despite that reports have come in of a large aquatic creature. It is said to look like a giant Sturgeon, perhaps one with a long tail, long neck and a round body with fins. It is very much comparable to its more famous cousin Nessie the Loch Ness fame.
