Hi! I saw your tags! I'm well aware of the sexism and reinforced romanticized stalking in Bollywood movies, there's a lot of rape culture and lack of consent in those movies. I used to read a lot of articles on it when I was like ten or eleven or so and it really grinded my gears. But there are also Bollywood movies that call out the sexism in the industry, or so I'd like to assume, the same way there are animes and video games and Hollywood movies that do the same. Are there any feminist

I don't watch Bollywood films anymore but I do have a few recommendations!

1) Secret Superstar: It follows the story of a teenage Muslim girl who is really talented in music. Her father, who is abusive to her and her mother and beats her mother, does not support her dreams, and wants to marry her to a man in another country. It is a story of how she achieves her goal of becoming a superstar and freeing her mother from her abusive husband.

2) English Vinglish: It follows the story of Shashi, a traditional Indian mother and housewife. She is constantly berated by her child and husband because she does not know how to speak english. She goes to the US to attend her niece's wedding and secretly signs up for an English class. This movie does not directly confront sexism (except for some instances like when she was talking to her french friend about cooking) but it is a great movie.

3) Mardaani: I have not watched this movie, but I have heard many great things about it. It is a story about a female police officer who is working to track down a child trafficker. A person said " No one can use fighting like a girl as an insult now".

4) Rudramadevi: I watched this movie long ago so I don't remember much of it, but it starts with a king deciding if he should make his daughter the ruler of the kingdom. His advisor tells him the story of Rudramadevi, to convince him that girls are just as capable as boys. Then we see the story of Rudramadevi. Although, I think you can check a few articles on this movie because I don't remember it well. But in the end, Rudramadevi ends up becoming the ruler along with the king's daughter.

5) Chak de: It follows the story of the women's national hockey team and how they overcome the obstacles to win.

There is also another movie whose name I don't remember, but it follows the story of a woman who becomes the principal of a small school in their village and works hard to make sure that the children receive a good education. There was also a scene where some bad guys break into the school and she defeats all of them singlehandedly. She is displayed as a strong, independent and capable woman, which is hard to find in today's bollywood. If I remember the name of the movie, then I will tell you.
