I Just Want You
Word Count: 1400
Pairings: Fili x reader
Warnings: None
Description: Royal wedding plans begin to take their toll, but there's only one thing you require to make the day perfect.
Requested by anon so I don't have a way to tag you I'm sorry! But I hope you enjoy. 😇
Tumblr media
“What do you think, nâtha? The lilies or the orchids?”
You buried your face in your hands. The pounding against your temples, something that had become a familiar sensation as of late, began to worsen as you tried to piece together any coherent sentence. There were only three words that came to mind, the same three words you’d uttered countless times over the past several weeks.
“I don’t know.”
The joy of yours and Fili’s engagement had subsided the moment you’d broken the news to your families. With FIli being the crown prince and heir, there was no way Dis and your mother would let it be a simple affair. Invitations had already been sent out to every corner of Middle Earth, and you’d been occupied from sunup to sundown every day with planning. The dress, the flowers, the food…
You were from a simple merchant family. The pomp and ceremony of royalty made no sense to you. Where you’d grown up, weddings were a simple affair. Most couples in your small village chose to elope rather than go through the bother of an elaborate ceremony. You’d have been more than happy to do the same. However, your mother and future mother in law had both been quick to dismiss the idea.
“It’s no matter, dear. We have time to decide.” Your mother pulled several small scraps of fabric, ranging from the purest snow white to the creamier shades of ivory. She laid them out against the table and gestured to each. “Which color do you think for the dress? We’ve got to begin sewing soon if it will be ready in time.”
Before you had the chance to respond, Dis laid out several different styles of gold and silver fabric beside the scraps your mother had laid down.
“And what of the trim? You’ve got to decide if you prefer gold accents or silver. But I do suppose that would have an effect on the choice of flowers…” She trailed off, lost in her own world of thought.
You could feel your pulse radiating against your temples as the migraine that had been forming worsened. This was the issue exactly. It wasn’t just selecting a dress. It was selecting a type of fabric, a trim, lace… And that had to coordinate with the flowers or else…
Or else what, exactly? Would the world cease to exist if the flowers and trim didn’t go together? Would Mahal himself descend from the sky if the food and the wine didn’t pair perfectly?
You looked from where you sat at the head of the long, carved wood table to the opposite end. Fili sat on his own, silently working through a stack of parchments Thorin had given him. He hadn’t been overly involved in the plans, as your mothers had taken over almost immediately. But you’d expressed to him how stressful the process had been, and he’d decided to come sit with you for moral support. He met your gaze and gave you a gentle smile. It sent butterflies through your stomach, as it always did. He was all you needed, truly. You could get married in the same, tattered old dress he’d met you in carrying a bouquet of wildflowers for all you cared. As long as he was there, it was all you required.
“(Y/N)?”
Your mother’s voice brought you back to the less desirable reality. She and Dis were both staring at you expectantly, the colored swatches of cloth still spread out across the table in front of you.
“Silver or gold-”
“First, she has to decide on a shade of white. Which shade do you prefer, (Y/N)?”
“Well it might help to decide on the accent first, then she can pick a white that goes with that.”
As Dis and your mother began speaking over each other you buried your face in your hands once again. The pounding against your temples became rhythmic, a steady thump that seemed to grow louder and louder as their voices overlapped. You felt as though you might go mad if the pounding and the questions didn't stop soon.
“(Y/N)-” Dis started.
“I don’t know!” You cried again, finally raising your head to look at the two of them. “I don’t know, okay? And I don’t care. Just pick a color. Whatever you both want.”
You flung yourself back in the chair, crossing your arms over your chest. It was unlike you to have such an outburst, but you were exhausted. There were too many questions, too many decisions. You’d be more than happy for them to make the choices and just tell you when and where to show up on the day of.
“And what do you want, amrâlimê?”
The three of you turned your attention to the end of the table as Fili piped up. He’d laid his parchments to the side. His eyes were not on either of your mothers, but on you. You could see the genuine concern etched in the lines that furrowed between his brows. He knew the planning had begun to take a toll, and now he was able to see the full amount of stress that you were under.
You felt tears begin to sting the corners of your eyes.
“I just want you.” You said quietly, your voice barely above a whisper.
Your mothers exchanged shameful glances across the table, finally seeming to realize just how much they’d piled on you at once. FIli’s expression softened as he continued to look at you, his eyes never breaking away to look at anyone else in the room.
“Could you leave us for a moment?” He asked.
Dis and your mother stood silently, collecting the fabric and other wedding items they’d strewn across the table. You felt Dis place a hand apologetically on your shoulder as she followed your mother from the room.
Once they’d gone Fili’s smile widened. He extended his hand to you, gesturing for you to come join him at the end of the table. You stood and quickly walked around to where he sat. Once you were within his arm’s reach he grabbed you, pulling you down by your waist and plopping you into his lap. As soon as your legs touched his he stretched his face up to your neck, peppering light kisses up and down your collarbones. You giggled as his mustache braids tickled the exposed skin of your neck, his lips working their way up to plant kisses along your cheeks. He finally found your mouth and pressed his delicately against yours, making it the gentlest and sweetest kiss of them all.
You felt a contented sigh escape your lips as he pulled you closer to him, wrapping his arms tightly around your waist. You rested your chin on top of his head as your fingers began to slowly brush through his hair, careful as always not to disturb his perfectly placed braids. The feeling of his arms wrapped snugly around your waist had already alleviated the nervous pit in your stomach, and you wondered how it could have only been moments ago that you were stressed to the point of breaking down in tears. He was your safe place, your calm within the storm.
“We don’t have to make it into a spectacle, you know.” He murmured into the collar of your dress. “It can just be the two of us, whenever and wherever you want.”
“We can’t.” You said, wistfully. If only it were that simple.
“And who says so?”
“You’re the prince-”
“To hell with that.” He said, pulling back just enough to look up at you. “Thorin’s already given his blessing for us to skip the whole affair.”
“But our mothers-”
“To hell with them too.” His expression quickly changed from confidence to one of fear as he looked over his shoulder. “Don’t tell them I said that.”
You giggled again, pulling him closer to you as he nuzzled his face into your neck once more.
“Amrâlimê, I will go get Balin right now and have him perform the ceremony in this very room.” He continued. “I don’t need the flowers or the food or the party. I just want you, too.”
You pulled back again, just enough to look down into his eyes. He was smiling up at you, his eyes sparkling with the same joy as they had the first day you met. He was all you needed, now and forever.
“I think that sounds absolutely perfect.” You said, brushing back a few loosened strands of his golden hair. “On one condition.”
He looked at you expectantly as you continued.
“You have to tell our mothers.”
nâtha - daughter
amrâlimê - my love

Home Is Where You Are | Fili x gn!reader
『••✎••』
↳ ❝ Hi can I request the prompt "It ain't home without you" with fili please? ❞
: ̗̀➛ It's your job to protect him and to keep him alive, but it isn't your job to worm your way into his heart.
: ̗̀➛ brief mentions of war and violence
•───────────────★•♛•★──────────────•
It was a lonely and cold night, and unable to get warm enough in your spot at the edge of the camp, you settled for instead heading over to the small fire where Fili was sat; in the moonlight, his pretty blue eyes looked electric.
Alight with thousands of stars that you could not see, and aflame with the soft crackling fire as it reflected the orange and yellow hues.
You sighed as you sat beside him, shuffling forward slightly so that you could rest your head on his lap; gazing up at him as he flinched for a moment at the sudden contact.
But he soon settled, relaxing and letting his hand drift to your forehead as he felt the soft head radiating from your skin. Of all of the Company, you were closest to Fili without a single doubt.
You had been with the Company since the beginning, hired by Gandalf to protect Fili and Kili and to ensure that the two brothers survived everything that was thrown at them; but what you had never expected was that you would end up becoming rather attached to one of the brothers, and that every time you looked into his beautiful eyes, you would feel like you were finally home.
You shifted around a little, almost nuzzling into his stomach as you got comfortable against him; Fili didn’t mind, although he couldn’t help but to smile.
He knew that you had a reputation to uphold, after all, you were famous throughout Middle Earth - from the Shire through to Rohan - for being essentially fearless.
A warrior so strong, you had fought in many wars, and had been decorated by your King accordingly; those who bore white flags with red crosses were terrified of you, and would cower at the mere mention of your name.
They knew who you were; the warrior with the red dragon on their breastplate and the sword made of dragon bones. The warrior who spoke a language older than Elvish, and who would stop at nothing to defend his homeland from those who carried the white banner with the red cross upon it.
The warrior who spoke the dragon’s tongue, and who had charmed their way into Fili’s heart so easily.
Fili knew your reputation, but he also knew Thorin’s words about you, as they echoed in his head every time you were close.
“Be careful of that one, those who sell their swords sell their souls along with it.”
But you weren’t like that, Fili knew that. You accepted the job because you owed Gandalf a favour, and that was all. You didn’t sell your sword at all, you were hired to fulfil the end of a favour.
That was all, and you made it incredibly clear that you would never accept another job offer of the same or similar calibre again.
But Fili’s uncle’s words weighed heavily upon his shoulders, even if you did feel like home every time you were close to him; even if the soft warmth of your forehead felt the same as coming home to a familiar bed.
He knew, though, nothing could or would ever come of it.
You wriggled a little, humming softly to yourself for a moment. “Fili?”
He nodded, a soft thrum coming from the very back of his throat as he lazily looked down at you. “Yes?”
“Is it odd that I feel like it ain’t home without you?” You asked quietly, all but twiddling your thumbs as you stared up at him so gently, your gaze all too soft on him.
But he shook his head, daring to lick his lips as he tilted his head slightly to the side. “No… in all honesty and truth, I can’t help but to feel the same - I feel as if the softest of touches from you is the same as coming back to my own bed.”
You could only smile as you let out a quiet yawn, stretching ever so slightly. “And what about your uncle? Thorin doesn’t exactly seem all that keen on me.”
Fili shrugged as he dared to smile back, slowly shaking his head. “Allow me to handle Thorin. I can deal with him, I can convince him that you are not what he thinks you are.”
You frowned a little, swallowing thickly and hoping that he didn’t see how you were struggling to get through to it. “But how confident in that are you, exactly?”
“Very,” Fili nodded, daring to grin at you as he gently stroked your cheek. “As long as you are my home, I will be yours, and I will do everything I can to convince my uncle that we belong together.”
Struggling to sit up, you rolled your eyes when he laughed at your efforts before pulling you onto his lap; letting you straddle his waist as he rested his hands on your thighs and tilted his head to the side, humming ever so softly. Gently, he ran his hands up and down your thighs.
“Tell me that I am yours,” he whispered softly. “And I will tell you that you are mine.”
You nodded, clasping your hands behind his neck as you stared at his mouth for a moment. Your voice coming out as a mere whisper. “I am all yours, Fili.”
“And I am yours,” he murmured gently, his hands trailing up so that one rested on your middle and the other rested at the back of your neck. All too tempted to pull you in closer. “Always.”
“Always,” you repeated. “Are you sure you don’t want my help with confronting Thorin?”
Fili nodded slowly, licking his lips as his gaze dropped to your mouth. “I might need you to keep me alive.”
“That’s my job,” you laughed gently. “Isn’t it?”
He laughed along for a moment, but when you leaned in slightly, he could not help but to close the distance. His kiss was so soft and tender, and when you kissed him back, you could not deny: you were home.

Braiding Practice- Fili Durin x OC
Fili Durin x Celeste Nasrin
Description: By this point everyone in the Company of Thorin Oakenshield knew that if they wanted to know anything about a different race’s culture, Celeste was the one to ask. That’s why she was the one Kili approached for advice.
Word Count: 1.6k
By this point everyone in the Company of Thorin Oakenshield knew that if they wanted to know anything about a different race’s culture, Celeste was the one to ask. After many years of studying the behavior of most races Middle Earth had to offer while she traveled for business with her father, she’d learned quite a few things. Now she knew just about all there was to know about whatever someone wished to learn.
As a matter of fact, it was the entire reason that Bilbo, Pandora and Nessa stayed with the Company. It was no secret that Dwarves were rather secretive and hated outsiders. Celeste was one of the few who saw reason and knew that all three of the newcomers were needed for this quest. So, she reached a lifeline by attempting to relate to them. She usually did that by striking up a conversation about their lives and in exchange, she told them about herself. And it worked, she’d successfully managed to form a bond with the Hobbit, the Fairy and the Elf that would ensure their stay in the Company.
Her success with them was the exact reason why she was the one Kili approached for advice. The Company had taken a break after walking for almost four days without rest, and Celeste had decided to use their temporary free time to fix her fiance’s hair. She’d been rebraiding a few smaller braids in Fili’s hair when she heard someone approaching them. Upon turning around, she was met with the younger Durin brother.
“Hello Kili,” she greeted with a relaxed smile, moving Fili’s head to face forward when he faced his left, wishing to see who she was talking to. “Having a good break?” Her gaze was focused on the task at hand, so she didn’t see the nervous look on her future brother-in-law’s face.
“I need your help Celeste,” the boy responded, getting straight to the point. His words made her pause, and she looked at him confusedly. Normally she would make a joke at his expense for saying something like that, but the borderline desperation in his tone made her restrain herself. She quickly finished the braid she was working on and tied it at the end before facing Kili head on.
“Is everything okay, nadad (brother)?” She asked worriedly.
“Everything’s fine, namad (sister),” he reassured her, which made her relax. “Well, for the most part. What I need help with isn’t just a simple matter, but a matter of the heart.” Celeste’s eyebrows shot up at that, and both she and Fili stared at him in shock. She was the first to snap out of it and she offered him a small smile.
“Would it happen to have something to do with the Fund (Elf)?” She asked in a knowing tone. The deep blush that coated Kili’s cheeks was more than enough answer for her. Despite the fact that all three of them knew that Nessa couldn’t speak Khuzdul, Kili couldn’t help but glance back at her to make sure she wasn’t listening. Sure enough, she was engaged in a conversation with Gemma and Pandora, much to his relief. Celeste watched the interaction with an amused smile, sharing a quick glance with Fili.
“Do you know the courting customs of Elves?” Though they saw it coming, neither Fili nor his fiance could hide their surprise.
“Wait, you’re actually considering courting her?” Fili questioned, though he hadn’t meant anything rude by it.
“I am,” his brother answered honestly. “She’s intelligent, and beautiful, and fun, and caring, and… she’s just amazing.” That was a good enough answer for Celeste.
“I do know a few things about courting amongst Elves,” she answered, which made the boy perk up.
“Can you tell me?” He asked eagerly. The girl nodded and patted the seat beside her fiance, which he sat in.
“Well, to start with, Elves are noble, proud, highly intelligent, as well as caring. However, they are very distant creatures. They love strongly, yet their love is hard to earn because when they wish to find a companion, it’s for the rest of their immortal life. If you’d like to initiate a courtship, you have to start by trying to impress them,” she explained.
“Like when I invited her to target practice last time we took a break?” Kili asked, earning a nod from her.
“Exactly. So that means that you’ve essentially initiated the courtship without even realizing it, nice job Kili,” she answered, smiling when the boy blushed. “And, she reciprocated it by playing her flute for you afterwards.”
“So what happens next?”
“Hair braiding,” she responded, simply. “One of the biggest similarities between Elves and Dwarves’ courting customs is the braiding of hair ritual. The best way to officially ask Nessa to court you is by asking to braid her hair.”
“Wait, seriously?” Fili asked, shocked.
“Of course. I will admit that though Elven courting traditions do involve braiding each other’s hair, Elves don’t take it as seriously as Dwarves because they believe that there are more ways than just that to signify someone’s love for another. But, they still only let those that are close to them touch their hair. Not only that but an Elf’s hair is much more silky and smooth, so a dwarf’s braid would likely ruin it. Obviously that’s not something you want, so you would have to be especially careful and would probably have to learn how to make an elf’s braid. There are a few that I know of.”
“Can you teach me?” Kili asked softly. It was a simple question, but it still managed to stump Celeste. It was tradition that Dwarves only braid their kin/spouse’s hair, and obviously she wasn’t related to Kili or courting him. Fili seemed to understand her inner turmoil because he suddenly grabbed her hand. The action made her look at him, only to be met with his usual kind smile.
“It’s okay kurdel (heart of hearts),” he said softly. “I don’t mind.” The girl hesitated for a moment.
“Are you sure?”
“Of course,” the Dwarf shrugged. “You two are practically brother and sister anyways, so you’re basically kin now.” That was all the reassurance she needed to face Kili with a wide smile.
“Let’s do it.”
So, the rest of the night was spent with Celeste teaching Kili how to braid hair as delicately as he could while Fili watched. The three of them made conversation between her teaching and many laughs were shared. Celeste was so happy that her future brother trusted her to educate him for something so important, and it warmed her heart that he was so willing to explore different courting customs for a girl he had feelings for just so she could be more comfortable.
And, though he hadn’t explicitly said anything, she knew that Fili was happy that she and his brother were getting along so well. Aside from his mother, his younger brother’s opinion of his relationship was the most important thing to him. Of course, he didn’t need to worry about anything because Kili and Celeste got on exceedingly well within minutes of meeting each other. Their relationship with each other only got stronger from there and, like Fili said, they were practically siblings by this point even if he and Celeste weren’t married.
Just a few days later the Company was taking another break. As usual, Fili and Celeste were sitting by the campfire wrapped in each other’s arms comfortably. Conversations were minimal as they were both rather tired. They were content to just be in each other’s company, at least until Thorin approached them.
“Have either of you seen Kili and Nessa?” He asked. Though his voice was low and stoic as usual, Celeste could detect a hint of worry in his tone. Her brows furrowed and she shared a glance with her fiance before they faced the King once again.
“I haven’t,” Fili answered.
“Weren’t they supposed to be scouting the perimeter to make sure it was safe?” Celeste added curiously, earning a nod from Thorin.
“Yes, but they left before nightfall. It has been dark for almost an hour,” he explained. “I thought they’d be back by now.”
“Well, would you like us to go look for them?” The older Durin brother asked.
“If it doesn’t trouble you too much,” his uncle answered.
“It’s no trouble at all,” Celeste answered easily. The two of them untangled themselves from each other and stood, beginning to make their way away from the camp where they knew Kili and Nessa had gone.
It only took them half an hour to find the duo, and once they did they were surprised by the sight that greeted them. They sat in a beautiful medium sized clearing in the forest covered in green grass. Beneath the grass was earth not too damp so they could walk on it without muddying their shoes and clothes. The surrounding trees and brush stood tall and flourished even in the dark of the night. All of it had been lit up by just the bright moon above.
The scenery wasn’t what caught their attention, though. It was Kili and Nessa. The Elf sat on a large log with Kili behind her. Celeste couldn’t hide her joy upon realizing that her brother was deftly braiding the girl’s hair as gracefully as he could. While he was doing that, they were talking and laughing about something that she and Fili couldn’t quite hear. It gave her a sense of deja vu as their joy and peace reminded her of when she and Fili began courting. She watched the serene scene in front of them for another minute before carefully taking her fiance’s hand in hers, making him look at her.
“I’m sure we can give them a few more minutes, don’t you?” She asked softly. The couple shared a small smile, then he nodded.
“Yeah. Uncle will be fine.”

Braiding Lessons ~ Kili x Reader
A/N: Omg Kili request!!! I love him and I am such a sucker for this plot!! so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do omg!! Also funfact but I almost deleted everything that I wrote during my roadtrip cause I was so unsatisfied with it ;-; Which is probably why it took me so long to actually publish it yikes
⇢ ˗ˏˋ Warnings: Fluff ࿐ྂ ⇢ ˗ˏˋ Words: 1.0k ࿐ྂ ⇢ ˗ˏˋ Request: Yes (Thank you <33) ࿐ྂ ⇢ ˗ˏˋAmrâlimé ~ My Love ࿐ྂ
Summary: You always knew dwarves had various beautiful braids, but how come Kili doesn't? So one night you decide to change that and help him out.
Tumblr media
You tilted your head to the side, as you let your eyes skim over the various dwarves, whom you were accompanying on their journey. Being the only human, surrounded by one hobbit and several dwarves definitely let you notice a few differences about their culture to your own. For example, they could eat almost double their size almost as if they have two stomachs. They also tend to not care much about their appearance. Except of course their beards and hair in general. They take care of it almost as if their life depended on it. One detail that definitely stood out to you were the different braids that decorated each of them. You remember once staring at Fili, while he undid his small beard braids just to redo them.
“How come dwarves always have braids in their hair?” You once asked him. He smiled at you and continued weaving his fingers through his hair. “Braids are very important to us dwarves. Which is why we rarely let others touch our hair.”
Ever since that day you have noticed the intriguing designs and ways each of the dwarves intertwined their strands. Except for one. Kili was the only dwarf who seemed to be lacking any kind of braid and you have been wondering why that is. You also once asked Fili about it but he wouldn’t answer you. Maybe he doesn’t know how to braid? And he is too embarrassed to ask others for help? Observing Kili, who was laughing along his brother to some jokes, you quickly let that thought settle in your mind. He doesn’t know how to braid and you were determined to change that.
So later that afternoon you bribed Fili to change his night shift with yours (which cost you a few of your travel snacks), in order to spend some time with Kili. You wanted to teach him how to braid and due to the fact that it is quite a sensitive topic to dwarves you wanted to make sure that nobody else would notice the two of you. So as soon as the sun set and the snores of your companions filled your ears, you made your way to Kili. He was perched upon a log which was behind the campfire that slowly burned down. His hands were carefully crafting something delicate, which you didn’t quite see in the dark. “What are you working on?” You asked him, taking a seat beside him. His gaze swerved from the item between his fingers to you. A smile graced his lips.
“It’s a surprise.” He quickly put the item into a small pouch that was secured to his pants. “I thought Fili was supposed to be my night-watch-partner?” “He was but I wanted to switch with him.” A smirk formed on his lips, before he put his arm around your shoulder, pulling you closer. “Well, in that case I will make sure that this will be the best night of your life.” Blushing at the double meaning behind his words, you tried to separate your body from his. Of course, not because you didn’t enjoy him being so close to you, but because you were in desperate need of some cold air to cool you down and sort through your thoughts.
“I just wanted to ask you if I could braid your hair.” A dumbfounded expression accompanied by a gentle blush fell over his face. “I know you probably were just embarrassed to ask any of the others for help when it comes to braiding your hair and knowing that you don’t know how to I just-“ His laugh interrupted your rambling. “You think I can’t braid my hair?” You nod. “(Y/N), that is one thing we dwarves get born with. No dwarf in this world knows how not to braid hair.” “But why do you never braid yours? Fili told me they were incredibly sacred and important in your culture.” A blush dusted his cheeks as he stared into the campfire.
“Simple. Nobody has asked to braid my hair before.” Your hand moved to his and gave him a reassuring squeeze. “But I just asked to braid your hair. So please, let me take care of you.” He smiled at you and moved one leg over the log so his whole body was facing yours. You let your fingers comb through his soft hair a few times, before taking a strand and dividing it into three sections. Weaving your fingers through the wafts, you made sure to be gentle while also ensuring that there won’t be any bumps or strands sticking out of your small braid. After you have reached the end of his hair, you took out one of your slim leather straps and tied it at the end. Your gaze wandered from the braid to Kilis eyes and you realized how close the two of you have been this whole time. “Thank you Amrâlimé. You have no idea how much this means to me.” You let your gaze wander to your hands in your lap while a shy smile graced your face. “Of course. I am glad you like it.” Kili put his finger under your chin, forcing you to look at him. A bright smile framed his face. “Now it is your turn.”
The next morning the company as well as you quickly packed up their belongings to get back on their journey. While talking with Balin about some of the dwarvens history, you suddenly heard a gasp from behind you. “You never told me about this Kili!” Fili held up a braid between them both. “When did this happen?” “Last night while you-“ “What is going on back there?” Thorin asked, slowly approaching the princes. “Kili finally got his braid! Probably by someone he seems enamoured with.” Fili teases, while letting go of his brother’s hair. A blush dusted Kilis cheeks, as well as your own as the words settled in.
“Was about time they tied the knot.” Dwalin let out a boisterous laugh at Balins words. Tilting your head to the side, you moved your attention to Kili. “What does he mean by that?” “(Y/N) doesn’t even know? You didn’t even explain it?” Fili asked, flabbergasted at the newfound information. “I hadn’t had the time yet.” Kili turned towards you and grabbed your hand, intertwining your fingers. “But I will explain it to you when the time is right.” His radiant smile was enough reassurance for you. You will wait, until he is ready to explain the meaning behind the dwarvish braiding custom.

Ori: "We're never gonna reach the mountain are we?" *He laments*
Bilbo: "Not stuck in here, you're not." *Jingles the keys*
Y/N appears, eating a cake?
Y/N: "Didya know they were having a feast? Bloody good food they have. And the wine! You guys want any? I think I can go-"
Balin: "Bilbo!"
*All erupt into excited chatter*
Y/N: "Wha- What am I? Chopped liver?"
*Munches angrily*
Kili: "It's okay Y/N I'll share with you!"
Fili: "Yeah, come on give us some!"
*Y/N grins and breaks the cake into three pieces.*
Bilbo: "Shh! There are guards nearby!"
*One by one they escape down to the cellar.*

Dwalin: "Are you mad? They'll find us."
Bilbo: "No no, they won't I promise you. Please, please you must trust me"
Thorin: "Do as he says."
*They clamber in and Y/N stays out.*
Y/N: "Go Bilbo. into the barrel with Thorin quickly."
Thorin: "Y/N, what are you-"
Y/N: "I will see you at the gate."
Balin: "What gate?"
Y/N: "Hold your breath everyone."
*Y/N pulls the lever and they are all dropped into the river.*
Y/N: "Well, that was fun! Now, let's play some hide and seek shall we?"
*Y/N slips past the guards and out of the palace and up into the light. They spot the dwarves in the river and begins her run towards them*
Tumblr media
Legolas: "Shut the gate" (in Sindarin)
Y/N: "No no! Don't do that!"
The guards look at her strangely before beginning to shut the gate.
*Y/N groans and mumbles*
Y/N: "This is gonna hurt like a bitch isn't it. Where's Tauriel when you need her. Stupid world doesn't even have her in it. Stupid movie made me think she was an actual character"
*She huffs while running towards the gate*
Y/N "ORCS! WATCH OUT!"
*A guard is stuck by an arrow.*
Y/N: "Fucks sake."
*The Orcs rampage through the top of the closed gates, persuing fights with the Elven guards.*
Bofur: "Orcs! Watch out!"
Bolg: "Slay them all" (Dark Speech)
*Y/N fires an arrow at him, striking him in the arm*
Y/N: "Take a shower, you STINK."
*Y/N runs towards the fighting dwarves.*
*Kili spots the lever to open the gate.*
Y/N: "NO, STAY PUT. DON'T MOVE KILI."
*Y/N dashes towards him while he gets up to pull the lever.*
Y/N: "NO."
Tumblr media
*Bolg pulls out Y/N's arrow from his arm and draws his own, notching it in his bow. He aims it at Kili.*
Y/N: "KILI."
*Y/N lunges towards Kili, pushing him out of the way, the arrow strikes her through the leg. With a gasp she doubles over, clutches onto the lever and pulls it down.*
Y/N: "Ah, fuck."
A/N
For continuance sake, don't read ahead if you want to follow the normal story line. However if you wish to read this as a separate imagine read ahead!
*She gasps and struggles to stand. She bites down on her lip and forces the arrow out, snapping off the feathered end and pulling it out. Kili drags her over the edge of the gate and Y/N slips into a barrel with him below*
Kili: "Y/N! Y/N I'm so sorry I should have listened I-"
Y/N cries out in pain as they tumble down the stream, each knock jolting her wound.
Y/N: "Apologies later. Escape now."
*The company battles the Swarm of Orcs from the stream whilst drifting down the stream, aided by Legolas and his army.*
Thorin: "Anything behind us?"
Nori: "Not that I can see!"
Bofur: "I think we've out run the Orcs."
Thorin: "Not for long. We've lost the current."
Dwalin: "Bombur's half drowned."
Thorin: "Make for the shore! Come on let's go!."
Øin: "Glóin, help me brother."
Kili: "Y/N is hurt. Her leg needs binding."
Tumblr media
Y/N Groans quietly before answering.
Y/N: "I'm fine. Not able to die, Just hurts. Better me than Kili. Orc pack on our tail, Need to..
*Y/N grits her teeth*
Need to keep moving."
Thorin: "To where? There's a lake between us and that mountain you need that rest."
Y/N: "A barge, a man will have a boat. Help me up, I'll show you the way. Let's go."
*Kili and Fili lift her up and they hobble away.*
Y/N: "I should do this more often if it means two pretty men will carry me."
Thorin: "I think not. Next time, I will carry you over my shoulder and you will have no say."
*Y/N blinks owlishly.*

1. Aragorn
soft kisses - where they're just lying beside you, hands playing with your hair as they trail tender kisses all over your lips
The two of you were meant to be sleeping of course, but the gloom of the mines made it hard to settle. You supposed that's why he pulled you away from the others slightly, to a spot just that bit further away.
Aragorn was on first watch as usual, having made it his task since the beginning of the journey, and always insisted that the hobbits and Gandalf got plenty of sleep. But with that came the usual knowing looks between the two of you as Aragorn knew his love wouldn't sleep unless he would.
So with that knowledge, and him sensing his love's rising anxiety at being trapped underground, it now brought them to this.
He tilted your head up from where it was resting against his chest, his hand cupping your face. Aragorn brushed a few loose strands of hair off your face from where it had fallen out of place as his own head tilted down towards yours. His hand gently entwined with your other, and he paused in his movements, allowing you to decide next.
You gently reached up, threading your hand through his long locks and gently pulling him down towards you. He pressed his lips to yours, mouth moving slowly, softly, intimately.
He pulled away, your lips chasing after his, a small smile gracing his lips as he pressed another kiss, and then another, and then another to your lips.
the type of kiss where you can't find words to say after, or the ones where your forehead lingers against each other's
Aragorn's horse trotted through helms deep, having just pulled him up from the river bed where if not found, he would've succumbed to his wounds. He dismounted his horse and received a scolding from Gimli before forcing himself up the staircases and into the deep.
Legolas rose from outside the doors, greeting his friend who believed him dead. The elf pulled him into a familiar embrace before pulling back and making a sarcastic comment about the ranger.
The elf turned a small smile gracing his face before yelling the name of a person. The ranger followed his line of sight. It fell on his love, you.
You looked up after the elf who yelled out to you, before seeing the man you mourned for standing with him. Abandoning your stuff, you ran to him, arms thrown over his shoulders and crushing him to your chest as a few sobs left you.
His arms encircled you as he leant his forehead against yours. He didn't care at that point about the mud caking him and he didn't think you cared enough at that point, so it made no odds on whether he was careful or not.
He pulled back slightly, raising his hand to caress your face before pressing his lips to yours. Tears left both of you as his mouth moved languidly with yours.
Aragorn pulled away, resting his forehead against yours. He wanted to say so much to you, fearing that he would never see you again but all thoughts left him as he wished to stay in this moment, longing for nothing but you.

2. Fili
messy kisses - curly hair, ruffled sheets and half-buttoned clothes as you just want more and at that moment, they're the most beautiful soul to you ever
The sun trickled in through the window, bypassing the curtains that hadn't been fully drawn across the night before. The young (ish) couple lounged in the bed, bodies pressed together as close as they could get with the few layers of clothes still between them.
He tilted your head up to meet his, his lips pressing against yours, moving languidly in the early morn. Fili reached up, hand caressing your courting and marriage braids that were still somewhat intact.
He groaned, feeling one of your hands gripping the hair at the base of his neck and the other slipping under his shirt across his chest.
Fili pulled back, eyes fluttering open to meet yours; your own half-lidded as you drew in a few stuttering breaths. It was a pleasant greeting from your love first thing in the morning, one that you would be against again.
You gazed up at Fili, the dwarf hovering over you, careful not to rest his entire body weight on you. The tressels of sunlight filtered through his hair, causing a glow to shine over him.
His eyes trailed over your face, memorising every detail as if it was the first time he saw you.
kisses on your body ♡ frail kisses on your shoulder! on your lower back, belly and trailing to your neck, collarbones, lips.
A cry of pain left your lips.
Oin pulled the blood-soaked cloth away from where it was pressed tightly against your side. The infection from the arrow had spread, the orcs having laced it with something deadly.
The pain wasn't something Fili wished on anyone, much less you. So he did his best to comfort you whilst the infection ransacked your body. His hands firmly held you, one holding the back of your head, and the other gripping your forearm to stop you from forcing Oin's hand away from the wound he was trying his best to treat.
After Oin had doused the cut in water, trying to flood any dirt that wormed its way in, Fili pulled you closer. The healer moved back to gather some more altheas and cloths, leaving you curled against your prince's chest.
Fili dropped his head down to your shoulder, as your tears continued to douse his shirt - not that he cared as it was covered in sweat, grime, and whatever else from the trip across middle earth - his hand on your head slipping down to the back of your neck, stroking his fingers in what he hoped was a soothing pattern.
He pressed a kiss to your bare shoulder, the fabric of your tunic had been pulled away, cut away for easier access. It would need replacing, he noted, but hoped that it would be enough to cover you until the sun rose again.
Fili continued his ministrations, pressing another kiss further up your shoulder. And then another at the junction where it met your neck. He considered pressing one to your neck, in that one spot he knew made you shiver, but with the way you were sitting in his lap you were already considered improper in public, so he begrudgingly decided against it.
Oin chose to return at that moment, pressing the churned-up altheas against your wound and then tying the cleanest cloth over it. You cried out in pain, more tears falling. It was like someone was driving a burning knife into your arm, over, and over, and over again. The pain rolling in waves.
Fili kept whispering words of praises and comfort, the Kadzhul translations lost in your mind as all you could feel was the pain, and him.
The knot was finally tied on the bandage. Fili slid his hand from the back of your neck to cup your face, pressing a chaste kiss against your forehead before leaning his own upon yours.
I'm here, you're safe now, I love you, the action spoke more words than Fili could find himself saying.
Tumblr media
3. Haldir
lazy kisses as they admire you - fingers delicately trialing your jaw as they kiss your lips
"Haldir," you groaned, leaning back against his chest, head turned up to face him. A smile graced his lips, his eyes locked with yours, shining full of love.
It wasn't often you got to spend a prolonged period of time with your Marchwarden, especially with him being gone for months at a time to guard Lothlórien's borders. So any time you spent with him was precious, even if you knew he would be leaving at the end of it again.
The braid in his hair was loose, albeit from your hands running through his hair earlier, causing him to have a sexy, but dishevelled look. The thought of elves being supermodels no matter what state they were in flashed through your mind again causing you to chuckle slightly.
Haldir raised his hand, letting it linger under your jaw as he delicately leaned down to place another kiss against your lips. Warmth bloomed through you and as his lips moved against yours, all thought about him having to leave again in a few days retreated into the depths of your mind.
You were drunk off the taste of him, off his kisses as he stole your breath each time. And nothing would ever change that.
goodbye kisses - kisses lingering like liquor in each other's lips, bitter but sweet, "I'll always come back to you, love. you're my home after all."
The boats gifted to the fellowship had just finished being prepared and were packed full of provisions to last you a good while.
The thought of having to leave your home again haunted you but not just because it was where you lived. No, because this time you were leaving your love, not knowing when you were to see him again. He was your home.
The Marchwarden was allowed to see his love off, having been granted a week's leave whilst you and the fellowship recovered and stayed in Caras Galadhon, Lothlórien. After you were sent as an emissary to Imladris, Rivendell in the common tongue, and word had returned that you had embarked on a journey to destroy the one ring, Haldir was worried for you.
He knew the history of the ring, as did most if not all elves and was worried about the dangers you may face. He knew that you could protect yourself, having been a sparring partner against you for years, but the worry did not dissipate.
He met you at the shoreline, his hand over his heart in the traditional greeting before he held your hand in his. Sadness filled his eyes as he wished not to see you leave, but knowing that this was a journey you were willing to take.
Haldir leant his head against yours as he fixed the cloak hung around your shoulders, ensuring that the broach was attached properly.
His hands lingered on your waist as he prepared himself to say goodbye again. It was one thing being the one who was leaving, but now that he was on the receiving side for once, he now knew how your heart felt each time he went on patrol. That feeling of not knowing if you were coming back or not eating at his heart.
Your hand on his cheek stole his spiralling mind from his thoughts as your lips pressed against his. A tear threatened to leave his eye as he consumed your kiss like a drug. The fear bubbling in his chest soothing to make way for the love he held for you but the melancholy feeling at having to be parted from you made it more bittersweet than anything.
His lips lingered over yours as you pulled away, his hand raising to stoke a strand of hair back from your face. Haldir wished he could keep you here in his arms but understood the task you had undertaken would not be dropped lightly.
Tumblr media
4. Kili
kissing and realising this is the person you'll always love, you'll always want to touch and snuggle with
Kili didn't think he could hold you any closer than he currently was.
You were practically melded into him, hands gripping tightly to the back of his jacket. The clothing was still damp from the thunderous storm you had walked through, but nonetheless had to still wear.
The terror that shot through him as the thunder giant collided with the mountain, believing that he had lost not only his brother but you as well, was something he never wished to feel again. His hands trembled slightly at the thought.
He shifted slightly, taking some pressure off his shoulder whilst pulling you upwards slightly so you were level with him. The ground wasn't pleasant to lie on, less so on his side, and even less so with damp clothes on, but Kili knew this was the company's best option right now.
Kili rested his head against yours, his eyes meeting yours. He nudged his nose with yours affectionately, giving you time to pull away.
It was something he always did, you noted. Every time he wanted to kiss you but couldn't find the words to say it, or was surrounded by too many prying eyes, he did that. Gave you that tell that allowed you to decide what happens next.
You tentatively leant forwards, tilting your head upwards ever so slightly, letting your lips press against his. There was no rush. No incessant desire to pull the other closer, just him.
Kili moved his lips slowly with yours, savouring every moment that he got with you. Fuck, he loved you. The realisation pulled at his heartstrings more, knowing that he could've lost you today.
prohibited kiss - you're not even supposed to be seeing each other but your hands are on his hair and his hands around your waist, lower bodies pressing into each other as you kiss
Laughter radiated through your body as you were pulled through the endless turns and corridors of Erebor. The stone walls were lined with torches and braziers all lit with fires burning brightly.
To anyone else, it would be a maze, a catacomb of tunnels that unless sense was made of them, would surely lead to your demise. But years of living there had engraved the pathways into your mind, and no doubt Kili's.
His hand dragged you to a secluded corner, himself coming to a halt. He could no longer hear the guards trying to follow the two of you. Pride flooded his chest as he gazed back at you, finally alone with his betrothed.
You were finally able to get a good look at him, now that he didn't have all the dwarrowdams fawning over him. Even if he wasn't "beautiful" by dwarf standards, he was still a prince and would have people trying to gain his favour.
But his title didn't matter to you. Kili did.
And by the creator himself, did you love the way he looked. His hair tousled from the running, and the short beard he was so desperately trying to grow accentuated his face.
But the ceremonial robes that hung to his body? You couldn't resist.
He found himself pushed back, pinned against the pillar. Kili's eyes locked with yours, the same fire of desire within him, burning through you.
Your lips pressed with his, mouths moving frantically with the others. Your hands that gripped onto the front of his robes slid up, trailing up his neck and into his hair, pulling slightly to press him into you more.  A groan left him at a particularly harsh tug before your hand moved to trace his courting braid.
He pulled away, panting, breathless, kissing you again and pulling you into him, arms gripping your waist, hands in his hair, your bodies practically merging into one. If his Amad caught him now, he wouldn't even have to face the scornful looks of Dwalin, he would already be lying in his grave.
But could he let you go? Fuck no.

5. Legolas
shy kisses - when you're the one pulling them closer, and they nuzzle their face in your crook after the kiss, hands around your waist as their ears get red
You were scared. If anything you were currently lustful, but you were about to fight in a war against ten thousand troops with an army of less than a third of that. So you were scared.
Legolas had turned to where you leant against one of the pillars, choosing to come and check all the fastenings on your armour. He was meticulous and methodical as he went to each and every one, adjusting where he deemed necessary whilst checking it caused you no discomfort.
A soft smile graced your face, as you watch his gentle movements before reaching out to cup his face in one of your hands. A blush, so subtle anyone who didn’t know Legolas would miss it, warmed his face, his head lifting and eyes locking with yours. It was as if he was staring straight into your soul, his piercing grey eyes full of love but fear.
You pulled him towards you, Legolas leaning his head down as his hand held over yours on his face, the other resting gently on your waist. Leaning up, you gently pressed your lips to his. Just once, mind you, the action as tender as possible, letting him come to you.
Legolas leant into you, pressing his lips back against yours, moving at a slow pace. He wanted to savour this moment as much as possible before the two of you walked to what could be your deaths.
ahem.
The clearing of the person's throat sprung the two of you apart, you mentally preparing for the endless stream of apologies to whichever passerby caught you, only for it to be someone you knew all too well.
"Aragorn." You spoke, heavily embarrassed to be caught with your lover.
The ranger looked between the two of you, his face being that awful neutral resting one making it so you couldn't judge his feelings on the matter. Aragorn must have read the panic starting to creep up in you as a teasing smile broke out.
“I have no qualms with this,” he began before looking over his shoulder towards the entrance of the armoury, “but the people of Rohan may not be as forgiving if you are caught.”
He turned on his heel, making his way up the staircase and leaving the two to their devices.
A moment passed and then a chuckle left your lips as a sigh left Legolas’. His head fell to your shoulder as the blush absconding his cheeks spread like wildfire tinting his ears a rosy colour.
At least it was only Aragorn, you mused, If Gimli had found you then he wouldn’t stop teasing your elf.
kisses of reassurance - saying that you're safe, still with them, that your heart is still beating wildly in your chest, that they couldn't get rid of you if they tried, that for some insane reason, you're not dead yet
Your chest heaved, trying to inhale as much air as possible as you sprinted up the mud-soaked hill. Aragorn had yelled for the soldiers to retreat into Minas Tirith and you were making your way as fast as you could until an arrow pierced your shoulder.
The doors were closed and sealed as you entered alongside the last few stragglers, a resounding bang from the wood hitting the stone frame. The room spun on its axis.
The throbbing pain in your arm continued, each ebb seeming stronger which was probably due to the adrenaline wearing off. Maybe you should've stayed fighting, it surely couldn't hurt as much as your arm did, you thought as your uninjured arm reached out to hold yourself up against the wall.
Giving up on keeping yourself upright, you slid falling somewhat ungracefully to the floor, blood dripping from your wound and soaking your sleeve. It was funny how much damage one arrow could cause.
You blinked.
The sun had risen, and from where you could see it, it was around mid-morning. Your eyes focused and you could see a worried face in a sea of platinum blonde hair. Legolas.
Ignoring the sound of the elf’s worry, you pushed yourself up into a seated position, as he gracefully knelt down next to you. His hands mindlessly moved to cup your face, as he had to pull his eyes away from your crudely bandaged arm. The arrow had been jagged and cut more as it pierced you, causing more blood to be lost.
Your hand covered one of his as Legolas moved to press his forehead to yours.
“I'm okay,” you whispered, breaking the silence between the two of you. Your thumb stroked the back of his hand absentmindedly, as you tilted your head up, meeting his lips with yours. It was one of desperation, longing and fear. A shuddered breath left you as the two of you broke apart.
“We’re okay.”

Helloo can I get The Hobbit/Dwarves headcanons? When they fall in love with a human🍂It doesn't matter which dwarf it is, I'm honestly in love with all of them~
(ooh yes I love the idea of the dwarves with a human! since you don't mind which one I'm going to do a preference scenario with all 4 dwarves that I write for :) if you'd like me to expand on one of them then feel free to ask!)
(Includes Dwalin, Thorin, Kili, Fili (separately) x gender neutral human reader - no warnings here, all SFW fluff)
Dwalin:
You have to be very persistent with Dwalin. He is not necessarily hostile, but he's certainly bristly in the early days. He's almost frustrated with himself when he realises that he's in love with you - your relentlessness and determination to know him are irksome but they help you in wiggling your way into his heart. Once he tolerates you enough to actually pay attention to your little 'conversations' (his replies are usually grunts or single syllables), he becomes interested in you. You make him want to be more open and less gruff, he wants to put effort in, for you.
Thorin:
There's no way to sugar-coat it, Thorin is irritated by your presence at first. He's had poor experiences with humans in the past, and has little reason to trust you until you prove yourself to him. Though, if you are patient and understanding, he grows to tolerate and eventually appreciate your presence. He finds that having such a different perspective can be valuable, and looking at the world through your eyes for that moment helps to change his perspective. Thorin never envisioned himself falling for a human, but now he can't imagine being without your wit, your kindness, your smile...
He might be down bad but will deny it for a long time.
Kili:
Kili really couldn't care less about your race. He falls in love with you for you and, while he values the opinions of his kin, he doesn't believe that humans are as bad as some say. He's eager to learn about your culture, wanting to participate in whatever traditions you may have that you'd like to share with him. In return, he'd love to show you the ways of the dwarves, trusting you deeply enough to give you 'insider knowledge'.
Fili:
Fili is a little slower than his brother to trust a human, being more likely to heed his kin's warnings, but he remains open minded. His fondness for you grows gradually as he watches your routine and your habits, noting the little things that are unique to you. He also notices that you seem to have a lot more resilience than he'd given you credit for. Fili may fall for you slowly, but he falls hard.

Thorin was getting worried, Kili had become somewhat of a ghost story over the past month. He had assumed that his nephew was simply doing his duty. Kili had volunteered to be the envoy between Dale and Erebor for the discussions of armament and training. However, that treaty was signed a week ago, and said envoy position was no longer needed. So why in all of Arda was Kili still going to Dale every day? The young prince left as soon as he was finished with his daily tasks and didn’t return to the mountain until well after the sun had set. Thorin was not worried for his nephew's safety, after all, Kili was an excellent warrior and could take care of himself, no, Thorin was worried for Kili’s heart.
Fili had also noticed his brother’s absence but the blonde prince had always been a bit more perceptive than his surly uncle. Fili had noticed that Kili was missing, but he also noticed that every time he returned to the mountain it was with the most dopey grin that he had ever seen. A grin that he recognized, for it had also graced his face a few months ago when he met his beloved Alma. Fili would bet his beard on it, Kili was in love.
You on the other hand were getting more and more annoyed each time the brown-haired dwarf walked through the front door. He was charming sure, and polite. But he stared. At you. The whole time he was there. And he was there a lot. His attempts to engage you in conversation were far and few between, the few times he was able to grab your attention away from the bustling building he became tongue-tied the moment your eyes landed on his.
Kili didn’t understand why he couldn’t say more than a few words to you without choking on his words. Your eyes had to hold some kind of spell within them. They enchanted him and left him bewitched every time he caught their gaze. It left him frustrated, he had never had this much trouble with women before, why were you so different? Deep down he knew though, you weren’t just any woman. He was afraid though, afraid that naming what you were to him out loud would make it real. And when it is real, it can hurt you.
There weren’t very many stories on One’s where the love didn’t end up requited, either because it just simply never happened. Dwarves were incredibly stubborn creatures after all, and it was entirely possible that they just wore down their other half until some sort of connection formed. It was also possible that those unfortunate few who weren’t able to woo their other half died of broken hearts. The former was unlikely as Kili kept having to remind himself, he couldn’t die of a broken heart. Right?
He was determined tonight though, to find out definitively if the sparks he felt for you were just interest in the handsome woman from Bree, or if you truly were the other half of his soul. To do that though he would need to say more than a few words to you. The problem with that was that you seemed exceptionally busy tonight.
Busy you were, Brant had told you last night that he was going to be leaving today to go to visit family for some type of emergency.
“If the place is still standing when I get back, we’ll talk more about it becoming yours someday.” He had said. You were hoping that that ‘someday’ was sooner rather than later. Brant was getting up there in years. Just last week he had hurt himself trying to lift one of the barrels of ale that had been shipped in from the Iron Hills. You had been taking on more and more of his old tasks and to be completely honest, it felt like you did the job of an owner anyway, just without all the benefits.
You weren’t going to let the man down though, even if it did mean rushing back and forth all night trying to keep up with demand all by yourself.
“Another! Y/N,” was yelled in front the back of the room. Roland was a boisterous man who got along with everyone, he was only a year or two older than you and was currently on his eighth pint of the night. He had a large countenance and seemed to fill up whatever space he occupied, he was handsome but the more and more he drank the less his looks mattered. Usually, this is the point in the night where he starts bordering more on unruly rather than fun-loving. Nevertheless, he was a paying customer and as long as he could still walk on his own out the doors, you weren’t going to say no to his money.
You grabbed another pint glass and poured one for him, balancing it and several other drinks on a tray. You steeled yourself with a deep breath before running back out into the fray.
Walking close to the stool he was sat on you leaned slightly over him and placed his pint down on the counter beside him. He was engrossed in the conversation between the large group of men, something about the best way to skin a buck, you weren’t really listening. As you grabbed his empty glass to take back to the kitchen to be washed, his large hand encircled your wrist none too gently.
“A pint is a wonderful thing, but it is even more delicious when served by a beautiful lady,” He whispered into your ear. You grit your teeth and roughly pull your hand back.
“Now, Roland, what have we said about touching things that don’t belong to you? Huh? Touch the wrong thing and you might just lose your hand.” You spit back at him. Cutting your eyes up at the mounted swords that rest above the fireplace only a few steps from where the two of you are. “I’d hate to have to clean those swords, they are sharp.” You look back into his eyes, satisfied with the fear that you see within them. You stand back up and place your tray back upon your shoulder.
“Anything else I can get you gents?” You question the other men scattered about the space. Silence reigned over the air for a few moments.
“Alrighty then.”
A pint here, a glass of wine there, and two hot meals delivered later, your tray was empty and everyone in the place seemed momentarily satisfied.
Letting out a breath you lean up against the counter.
“What did you say to him?” A somewhat familiar voice pipes up beside you. You turn your head towards the voice. It's the dwarf prince, and you are once again struck with just how handsome he is. You are also struck with the familiar feeling of annoyance, of course, he picked now to talk to you. Just when you had finally afforded yourself a break.
“Hmm?” You raise a singular eyebrow at him. “Who?”
“That large and very drunk man in the back, I couldn’t hear what you said but I could see the look on his face. It was similar to my brother’s when our mother would scold him for forgetting his manners.”
“That’s not too far off actually, Roland over there got a little too comfortable and touched something that didn’t belong to him, I had to remind him of the rules.”
“And what exactly did he touch that was so forbidden?” The prince smirks and laughs.
You smirk back and lift a glass to your lips before uttering one single word, “Me.”
All of the laughter drained from Kili’s face, “He touched you?” His voice had gotten much lower, his eyes darkened right before you.
You rolled your eyes. “I’m going to stop you right there Your Highness, I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself. I’ve been doing it for years. I don’t need some man, no matter how handsome he is coming to defend my honor every time I’m even remotely slighted. The trail of bodies will get far too long.” You stare into his eyes as you speak, putting all the righteous fury you’ve got stored inside into each word.
Seconds tick by before he opens his mouth to speak again.
“You think I’m handsome?”
“I think that we have bigger problems if that is the only thing you got from that.” You took another sip.
“No, no, no I got the point, you don’t need a big strong man to come to your rescue. Lucky for you, I am not big.”
The laugh that sprung from the back of your throat caught you off guard, you slap a hand over your mouth in an impossible effort to catch it and shove it back inside. He was funny, he had never been funny before.
Kili liked your laugh even though it was closer to a snort than an actual laugh, and he would be foolish to ignore the way his heart picked up at the thought that he was the one who made you laugh.
“You- I- I have never heard of a dwarf who makes fun of themselves, in my limited experience your lot are very prideful.”
“Not as prideful as some other races, I should think.”
“No, you’re not nearly as prideful as the pointy-eared bastards who hole themselves up in that accursed forest.” Your words held a healthy amount of rage as well as teasing.
“I sense that there is a story there somewhere.” Kili raised an eyebrow, mimicking your face from earlier. He was desperately trying not to think about the fact that this was the longest conversation the two of you had had up to date.
“One that I’m going to need a lot more liquid courage before divulging, I’m afraid.”
“We can make that happen.” Kili wiggled his eyebrows and pointed at the bottles of liquor behind the bar that separated the two of you.
At that very moment, a shout from the rowdy bunch of men in the back rang out, calling for another round.
“Duty calls your highness, but perhaps I will tell you that story… another time.” You winked at him and grabbed for your tray again, beginning to load it up once more. If that is how conversations with the dwarf prince went all the time, you wouldn’t mind having them more often.
You walked away before Kili could come up with a response, but he was more certain than he ever had been that your heart called to his. Why else would the very sight of you walking away feel like his heart was leaving too?

Unspoken Goodbyes (Kili x Y/N)
overview: Kíli’s infatuation with Tauriel jeopardizes his relationship with his partner. During the Battle of the Five Armies, he faces devastating regret as he realizes its too late where his heart truly belongs.
warning: angst?? third-party interference, death
A/N: inaccuracies
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
The forest of Mirkwood loomed around Thorin’s company like a dark omen. You walked beside Kíli, his hand intertwined with yours, feeling the warmth of his presence. Yet, beneath the surface, an unsettling tension brewed. Kíli was captivated by the elves, and it gnawed at your heart like a slow poison.
When the elves appeared, it was as if the vibrant greens of the forest faded, overshadowed by their ethereal beauty. Legolas, tall and regal, commanded with respect, but it was Tauriel who held Kíli’s gaze. You had noticed Kíli's fascination the moment they met, his curiosity did not go noticed. But you hadn’t worried, not at first. After all, you had weathered worse than a fleeting glance, hadn’t you?
Trapped in the cells of the Elvenkings fortress, captured by the elves, you sat beside Fili, the damp stone cold beneath you, exchanging worried glances. The oppressive silence was broken by snippets of conversation from Kíli’s cell, and your breath caught as Tauriel’s melodic voice drifted through the air. You strained to listen as she spoke with Kíli about the rock his mother had given him, a token of comfort he always kept close.
“It reminds me of home,” Kíli said, his voice soft yet filled with an emotion you couldn’t place. “It’s like a piece of her is always with me.”
Your heart dropped at his words. The tenderness in his voice felt like a dagger piercing through your chest. It stung to realize that you had once been the one who brought him comfort, but now it was Tauriel who stood in that place, bright and captivating.
Jealousy and despair swirled within you as Kíli shared memories of his mother, reminiscing with the elf who had captured his attention. You forced yourself to look away, not wanting to hear any more. You had thought the bond you shared was special, that Kíli’s heart was yours, but in that moment, it felt like you were losing him to someone who seemed so much more enchanting.
Fili noticed your distress and placed a reassuring hand on your shoulder, but it did little to ease the heaviness in your heart.
“He doesn’t see you slipping away,” he murmured, his voice a mix of concern and frustration. “He’s lost in the moment.”
But you couldn’t shake the feeling that Kíli was drifting further away with each passing moment. And when Tauriel spoke again, it confirmed your worst fears—he was captivated by her, and you were merely an afterthought.
Day after day, you caught him looking at her. His laughter was lighter in her presence, his eyes sparking with a fascination you hadn’t seen since before this quest began. It was as though the darkness of the journey lifted when Tauriel was near, and the weight of it crushed you instead.
It wasn’t until Kíli had been injured during a skirmish with orcs, poisoned by an arrow, that everything unraveled. You stayed by his side, holding his hand, but his eyes always seemed to drift elsewhere, waiting for someone else. When Tauriel arrived, glowing with the ethereal light of her magic and saving him, your heart shattered. Kíli murmured something to her, his voice soft and raw as if he was confessing, and you knew, deep in your bones, that whatever had bound him to you was slipping away.
You distanced yourself after that. There were no fights, no declarations—just quiet withdrawal. You told yourself you were being silly, that Kíli was just grateful to Tauriel for saving his life. But it didn’t feel like gratitude; it felt like you were being replaced. When Kíli would ask what was wrong, you’d brush him off with a smile that never reached your eyes.
“Nothing’s wrong,” you’d whisper, turning away before your voice could betray you. But Fili noticed, and so did the others.
One evening, as the company sat around a fire, Fili pulled Kíli aside. “You’re blind, brother. You’re so focused on someone who isn’t yours that you’ve forgotten the one who is.”
Kíli scoffed, defensive. “It’s not like that, Fili. Tauriel… she’s just… different.”
“And what about her?” Fili asked, nodding toward you as you sat alone, away from the others, staring into the flames. “Do you see how you’ve hurt her?”
Kíli’s heart tightened as he followed his brother’s gaze. You were different lately—quieter, more distant—but he hadn’t put the pieces together until now. Guilt gnawed at him, but before he could speak, a call to arms rang out.
The Battle of the Five Armies had begun.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
The chaos of battle was overwhelming. Screams echoed across the battlefield, the clashing of metal, and the roars of orcs filled the air. Kíli fought alongside his kin, but a part of him searched for you, needing to talk to you, to apologize. He had been a fool, blinded by something fleeting and neglecting what was real: you.
But you were nowhere to be found. As time passed, his desperation mounted. His strikes grew wilder, fueled by frantic fear for your safety.
When the battle slowed, he found Fili standing over a body, his face ashen. Kíli’s heart dropped into his stomach as he rushed to his brother’s side.
“No…” Fili whispered, his voice shaking.
Kíli followed his brother’s gaze and saw you. Lying there, your once bright eyes now closed, your skin pale beneath the grime of battle. Blood stained your armor and the fallen snow, a fatal wound that had taken you when he hadn’t been there.
“No… no, no, no!” Kíli dropped to his knees beside you, trembling hands cradling your face. “You can’t be… you can’t…” His voice broke, shattered by grief too powerful to contain.
He had lost you. Not to an orc’s blade, not to the chaos of battle, but because he hadn’t been there when you needed him most. He had failed you long before your body had fallen on this battlefield.
Kíli let out a roar, more pain than rage, as his world collapsed around him. The battle, the quest—none of it mattered. Nothing mattered anymore.
Fili knelt beside him, his own tears falling, but Kíli barely noticed. All he saw was you—your face, once full of life, now still. He pulled you into his arms, rocking back and forth, as if he could somehow bring you back by sheer force of will.
“I’m sorry my dove,” Kíli whispered, his voice breaking. “I should’ve… I should’ve been there. I should’ve never let you go.”
But it was too late. The words he should’ve said, the love he should’ve shown, would never reach you now. He had betrayed you long before Tauriel had entered their lives, and now you were gone.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
As the battle’s final moments played out, Kíli fought with a desperation that had nothing to do with winning. He fought because he had nothing left to lose. Tauriel, who had rushed to help him again, found him amidst the carnage, but he barely acknowledged her presence.
She wasn’t who he wanted. She wasn’t who he needed. He realized, too late, that the only person he had ever truly loved was now beyond his reach.
Kíli fell on the battlefield, not from an enemy's blade but from the weight of his own heartbreak. As he closed his eyes, the last thing he saw was your face, the memory of you smiling at him before everything faded into darkness.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
In the end, it wasn’t an orc that took Kíli’s life. It was regret.

You and Fili rarely had any proper time together, thanks to the Company being constantly around and constantly within the distance of hearing and seeing everything going on between you.
It was rather frustrating, if you were to be honest; you both felt quite stifled and suffocated like you were slowly drowning. You needed to break free and to get away from it all, even for just one night.
Fili had very much the same sentiments as you, thankfully, and when the opportunity presented itself for you both to stay the night at an inn, you all but jumped at the chance - even if you did have a feeling that a certain wizard was behind it all.
You didn’t want to think much of it, though, as you did not want to look a gift horse in the mouth after all.
You were more than happy as you flopped down on the bed with a huff, feeling the soft but thick mattress beneath you and the pillows under your head, pulling up the warm blanket so that it sat under your head.
You could only grin as you watched Fili closely, licking your lips when you noticed him begin to unbutton his shirt, every peek of skin only spurring you on even more.
You could already see that his trousers were quite tented, causing need to bubble in your stomach until your hand drifted beneath your trousers, mindlessly toying with yourself as you watched him continue to undress. Eager, and keen.
You wanted to drown in him; his touch and smell and taste. You needed to drown in him, and when he knelt between your spread legs, you very nearly gasped out his name in the form of a long and breathless beg.
Fili dipped his head slightly.
“Can I touch?” His voice came out as a steady and shallow wave, gently lapping at the shore of your skin where you had it exposed slightly, as he waited for you to answer.
You nodded, which earned you a firm and sharp slap to the thigh as well as a growling reminder to use your words and tell him what you wanted. You sucked in a harsh breath, nearly seething.
“Please, please touch me! Fuck me! Anything!”
Fili was happy to oblige, helping you out of your clothes with an eager but steady hand before he laid down between your legs and grinned at just how fucking aroused you were for him already; immediately, he began to work you over with his hand and his mouth, desperate for you.
He reached down, starting to stroke himself in tandem as you squirmed and moaned softly, starting to get lost in the waves. He picked up his pace, all but starting to fuck his hand into the mattress beneath him as you drowned him in soft gasps and moans.
“Fili! Fili! Don’t stop! Please! Don’t stop!”
Fuck, did he love to hear you beg for him; he wanted to make you call out for him until your voice went hoarse and raw, unable to make even the slightest of noises anymore.
He wanted to make you drool until your mouth went dry and sticky and your tongue seemed coarse and rough. He wanted to make you get rid of and lose all your frustrations and desperation and needs. He needed to feel you cum for him, he needed it so badly he couldn’t even find the words to properly admit it.
He yearned for it, and when he felt you begin to buck and roll your hips against him, practically rutting as you sought out every little bit of friction and movement, he took his hand away from his cock and used it to pin your waist down.
With complete control over you, Fili started to hump the mattress, only stopping for a split second to grin and moan when you grabbed his hair until your knuckles made a loud clicking noise.
“Please! Please! I’m so close!”
You could feel your thighs start to shake as you pulled your knees up, your toes curling as you panted out your little begs and whines heavily; your heart pounded against your ribs, about to escape as you did your best to push your hips up and seek out more friction. Anything to get you over the edge.
Your grip on his hair grew harder, tugging it as you moaned his name loudly. Fili didn’t want to waste a single second as he quickly and eagerly doubled down his efforts, knowing that the scratch of his thick and coarse and rough bears as well as the grumbling noises he made went right through you and pushed you further underwater.
It wasn’t long before you came on his hand and in his mouth, which made him grin as he loomed over you and hummed softly.
“Do you want to lick it off my fingers, taste it on my tongue?” He asked with a breathlessly gravelly tone.
“Yes,” you breathed out.
He sat between your legs, watching with a transfixed gaze as you ran your tongue up and down each finger before going between them and, at last, sucking them; able to taste nothing but yourself on his skin as you bucked your hips gently, already starting to get going yet again.
“Come here and kiss me,” he smiled, grabbing your jaw as he kissed you hard, making sure to run his tongue against yours so that you could taste and feel your own cum mixed with his spit.
Your hands went to his hair as you moved to sit on his lap, grunting softly under your breath when he grabbed your ass tightly and as harshly as he could. But you were so eager when you pulled away, your gaze hungry as you looked at his big, fat, hard cock.
“Can I return the favour?” You asked with a soft whisper.
Fili nodded as he tried to bite back his grin, running his tongue along his bottom lip. “Please do.”

Impromptu Haircut- Fili Durin x OC
Fili Durin x Celeste Nasrin
Description: While battling an Orc, Celeste is forced to cut her hair short. She’s dealing with the fact that she now feels ugly when her fiance comes to her rescue.
Word Count: 2.8k
“Fili if you do not put your brother down I swear to Mahal-” Celeste had no time to finish her threat as Kili managed to use his older brother’s distraction to his advantage and wiggle his way out of his grip. He fell to the ground, but not without taking Fili down with him, much to the entertainment of everyone else.
They had been walking since before dawn and the brothers figured that this would be ample time to try and mess with each other. It started simply enough with Kili randomly pulling at the braid at the back of Fili’s hair. In retaliation Fili tripped Kili then pretended as if nothing happened. It continued on from there until Kili finally attempted to tackle Fili, but the older Durin knew that it was coming because rather than falling over, he lifted his younger brother practically over his head. Unfortunately for Celeste (and fortunately for everyone else), she was put on what they liked to call “Durin’s Duty,” which meant she had to stop the boys from causing so many disruptions. That’s what led them to Celeste passing them along with the rest of the Company.
“Dunklir (Idiots),” she muttered, albeit amusedly as she shook her head.
“Ah, you know you love us,” Fili called out teasingly. The girl looked back at him, yet had no time to formulate a comeback before she heard something. She paused mid-step, which resulted in several people bumping into her. Thorin, upon hearing the commotion, turned to face her confusedly.
“Celeste, what is it?”
“Listen,” she instructed quietly, straining her ears to listen to their surroundings. The others quieted down immediately and attempted to hear what she heard.
“Footsteps,” Nessa finally mumbled. “And they’re approaching fast.” The Company immediately grabbed their weapons, holding them at the ready. Fili stood and pulled his sword out of its sheath, making sure to stand close to his One.
“Stand your ground,” Thorin muttered just loud enough for the others to hear. It only took a minute (if even) before the approaching creatures finally appeared.
“Orcs!” Sienna exclaimed. That’s all it took to start the excitement. The Orcs jumped out from the bushes and trees that surrounded their trail and instantly launched their attack. Celeste dodged an Orc jumping down on top of her then swung her axe at him, lodging it into his chest. Only a moment later she was picked up and set aside just before she watched Fili kill the Warg ready to pounce on her from behind.
“Great,” she called sarcastically as she began fighting off another Orc. “Wargs too?”
“And more incoming,” her One retorted, also fighting now. She groaned loudly as she took down the Orc.
The fight seemed to go on forever, but thankfully the Orc’s numbers quickly dwindled until there were almost none left. Celeste had been fighting one that sat atop a Warg, and it had been a fairly easy fight. Him losing his weapon gave her an advantage that she took without hesitation, decapitating him with a clean sweep of her axe. She assumed that the Warg, like the others who had lost their riders, would run off and save themselves.
That ended up being her downfall as when she turned around to check on the others the Warg pounced on her. She let out a surprised cry and she landed rather aggressively on the unforgiving ground. It was only as the Warg pounced on her that she realized that she had lost track of her axe in her surprise. She had no time to look for it before she felt the Warg grip her hair between its teeth and pull as if she were a toy. This time it was a pained cry that left her lips as her head was yanked sideways aggressively. Its claws dug into her back, which only heightened her need to get away. She looked around desperately. The others were still fighting their own Orc or Warg (or both), she wouldn’t be able to call out without them getting distracted and potentially getting hurt. She had to do this on her own.
Her head whipped around wildly as she attempted to formulate a plan, then something shiny caught her eye. It was her axe! It laid just an inch out of her reach, gleaming in the sunlight as if waiting for her to pick it up. She reached out, nearly breaking her neck in the process as her fingers grazed the handle of her axe. Just a little further. She could physically feel the hairs on the left side of her head begin to split the further she moved away, but she pushed herself to finally grab her axe.
Without a second thought she whipped around and sliced her hair to get away from him. It worked, and the Warg ended up falling backwards, having not expected the sudden change. She used that to her advantage and scooted away from it enough to get momentum to stick her axe straight into its skull. It let out a loud screech of pain, which Celeste quickly silenced as she stuck the axe in a second time.
That was enough to take it down, and the girl had to scoot back even further to avoid the Warg falling on top of her, but that didn’t stop the blood from splattering on her as it hit the ground. That’s not what she was worried about though, as her eyes trailed over to her axe, where there were remnants of what she was forced to do with her hair. Her hand instantly went to her head, and tears welled up in her eyes as she felt the chopped and jagged ends. Slowly, her breathing became erratic as she glanced back at the rest of the Company. There were only a few Orcs left, which meant they weren’t paying attention. She had time to get away, so that’s exactly what she did.
She ran and ran until she nearly fell into a river that they had been somewhat following for the last few miles. Luckily she managed to catch herself, but then she caught sight of her reflection and wished that she had fallen in. Her hair was much worse than she originally thought. The right side of her hair was normal, reaching her shoulder blades. But the left side of her hair had been chopped to her chin. It looked absolutely awful. If she wasn’t crying before, she definitely was now. All she could do was sit there and run her fingers through the abrupt ends on the left side of her hair for a long time.
And she had good reason to mourn the loss. Her long hair was the only thing she had to show off her status as a Dwarf. She didn’t have a beard as she, Gemma and Sienna were part of a rare breed of Dwarves (likely descended from another race) that can’t grow beards. Even stubbles were hard to come by for them, so they had to rely on their actual hair. Dwarves took their hair too seriously to just cut off without wanting to make a public indication. She couldn’t face the others like this, especially looking so messy.
It was growing dark by the time she registered the many voices calling her name in the distance. She knew that it was just the Company, but it didn’t motivate her enough to move. If anything she was ready to move closer to the river. She had been so consumed in her thoughts that she didn’t hear footsteps emerge from the treeline just a few feet away from the river.
“Celeste,” Fili called softly, which made her whip around in surprise. Her eyes widened and her hand quickly shot up in a feeble attempt to hide her hair.
“Fili,” she breathed out. Half of her was relieved to see him okay and without any obvious injuries, and the other half was mortified at the mere thought of her fiance seeing her in such a state.
“Oh thank Mahal you’re okay,” he sighed in relief as he walked over to her, falling to his knees beside her. The girl immediately turned her head to the left so he could only see the right side of her face.
“Amrâlimê (My love) there’s blood on you,” he mentioned after a moment, wiping some of the Orc blood off her face.
“It’s not mine. I’m fine ghivashel (treasure of treasures),” she brushed off simply, desperately hoping that would be the end of it. Unfortunately luck was not on her side because she could practically feel Fili’s concerned gaze on her. His hand caressed her cheek until it eventually slipped to her chin, and he carefully took it between his thumb and index finger.
“What is it, Celeste? What’s wrong?” He asked worriedly as he started to make her face him.
“Nothing,” she responded quickly, attempting to pull away. “Fili, I’m serious.”
“Just let me see the other side of your face,” he begged softly, ignoring her protests as he forced her to look at him head on. Her eyes snapped shut as her One got a full view of her. She could hear him inhale sharply as he examined her.
“Celeste…”
“It was an accident,” she cut him off. “I swear it was the only way to survive. T-There was a Warg that was on top of me and I didn’t know what else to do and I don’t want you to think that I did it because I’m unhappy with you or anything-” Now it was her turn to be cut off as Fili cupped her face. She froze for a moment, having not expected the softness of his grasp, then she ultimately relaxed.
“Can you open your eyes for me please?” He questioned softly when the tension in her shoulders released. Celeste hesitated, debating on whether or not to do so. There didn’t sound like there was any malicious intent in his question, not that she would expect that from him. He had been the best person she’d ever met, always making sure she was okay and comfortable no matter the circumstances. That reminder is what pushed her to actually open her eyes. Just like she thought, he was staring at her with such kindness and compassion that she almost closed her eyes again, not wanting to see his pity in his eyes.
“Are you okay?” Well that was definitely not the question she expected him to ask. It made her eyes widen a bit and she stared at him confusedly. Fili simply repeated the question, which made her sigh. She began to nod, then realized that lying would get her nowhere as he would just push her to the truth, so she shook her head.
“No,” she whimpered, falling into him. Her fiance caught her with ease and held her firmly against his chest. He pressed a kiss to the top of her head as he waited for her to continue, which she did after a minute.
“It looks awful,” she sniffled. “The only thing that made me look pretty has been chopped off like last week’s firewood.” If she had moved any more she wouldn’t have felt his chest rumble as he chuckled quietly.
“Amrâlimê (My love), is that really what you think?” He asked amusedly, which made her face him with an offended expression. “That your hair was the only thing that made you beautiful?”
“I mean, yeah. Fili the only thing that made me beautiful by Dwarf standards was my long hair. I have no beard and I’m short even for a Dwarf, what else is there?”
“Your brains,” he responded, which made her scoff quietly. “And your quick thinking, those are amazing qualities to have. Who cares about Dwarf standards?”
“You should,” she retorted. “Considering you’re the Prince of Dwarves, you should have a wife who the people could find beautiful and-and strong.”
“Since when does anyone else but me get to decide what I should be looking for in a wife?” He questioned, which quieted her. “Your hair wasn’t the only thing that drew me in. Do you remember when we met?” Celeste blushed at the thought.
“You mean when I ordered you around for almost two hours then found out you were a Prince?” She retorted flatly. “Yes, I remember it vividly.” That made her fiance smile.
“Do you remember what I said to you that day?” He continued. The girl had to take a moment to think about that.
“You admired my initiative and commended the fact that I was willing to help your uncle during the building of the town,” she recalled softly, which made Fili nod.
“That was my first impression of you, that you had amazing intellect and intuition,” he added. “Not your hair or lack of facial hair. Even without those, you’re still beautiful, whether by Dwarf standards or not.” Celeste offered him a weak smile before leaning her head on his shoulder.
“Still, I don’t think I’ll be able to face the others looking like this,” she muttered, now a bit calmer. Her One hummed in thought as he debated what to do about the situation still at hand, then looked down at her.
“Doesn’t Oin have shears in his bag?” He questioned, which made the girl furrow her brows and look at him.
“Yeah, he needs them to cut the bandages,” she answered dutifully. “Why?” Fili didn’t answer at first, instead pulling away and helping her lean against a nearby tree before standing.
“I’ll be right back,” he reassured her, leaving no time for her to question him before he ran back the way he came. Celeste could only sit there in shock and confusion for a few minutes as she awaited his return. She bided her time by brushing her fingers through her hair again, trying not to think about the short ends.
“Stop messing with it,” Fili admonished upon his return, which made her look at him and do as he said.
“Sorry,” she muttered with an awkward smile as he sat beside her on his knees once again with several things in his hands: Oin’s shears and some bands. Her brows furrowed and she looked at him confusedly.
“I’m just evening out the left side of your head then styling it,” he explained as he set everything out.
“Since when are you a hairstylist?” She half joked, though she turned her head so that he could get a better look,
“Since my beloved was insecure after her hair was chopped off in battle,” he retorted as he picked up the sheers. Celeste rolled her eyes as he began trimming. It didn’t take him long to finish evening out her hair, then he got to work with whatever he planned to do with those bands.
“Alright, look at it and tell me what you think,” he finally said after another few minutes, setting down the extra bands. The girl glanced at him unsurely, but moved back to the river when he nodded with a reassuring smile. A delighted gasp left her lips as she stared at her reflection. The right side of her head hadn’t changed except for a few small braids woven throughout it. The left side of her head had been separated into three parts, each part being braided with a bead and band at the end. The middle one had her courting beads from Fili, which made her smile widen.
“They’re not the best, but I did my best with what I had,” Fili said softly, which caught her attention. She looked at him then all but tackled him into a tight hug.
“Thank you kurduwê (my heart),” she muttered into his shoulder, which made him laugh as he returned the hug.
“I’m glad you like them amrâlimê (my love). Do you think you can face the others now?” He asked softly. Celeste felt confident enough to nod without hesitation and she allowed Fili to help her stand. They walked back to where the Company had been sitting. Once they emerged from the trees everyone faced them.
“Thank Mahal you’re okay,” Sienna sighed in relief, walking over to the girl and hugging her tightly. Celeste couldn’t help but smile as she embraced the woman.
“And check out that new hair,” Kili whistled upon the girls pulling away from each other, which made Celeste blush and roll her eyes. “Who knew my brother was such a stylist?”
“Shut up,” Fili grumbled, which made the others laugh as they settled around the fire, waiting for Bombur to make dinner. Celeste rested her head on her fiance’s shoulder and allowed him to take her hand. She gave it a small squeeze as a sense of peace washed over her. What had she even been worried about before?

My Sweet Valentine ~ Kili x Human!Reader
A/N: So yesterday I asked who shall receive a lil love on this day and Kili won!! So here ya go it is literally just a tiny little short one shot but its smth :)
⇢ ˗ˏˋ Warnings: fluff ࿐ྂ ⇢ ˗ˏˋ Words: 424 ࿐ྂ ⇢ ˗ˏˋ Request: No :) ࿐ྂ ⇢ ˗ˏˋ Amrâlimé ~ My Love ࿐ྂ
Summary: You spent your morning hours with the wonderful dwarf prince Kili
Tumblr media
Soft fingers stroked your cheek gently, making you stir awake from your slumber. You see Kilis brown eyes fill with warmth, as you woke up beside him. After the two of you decided to court, you were basically inseparable. You even shared a bedroom with the prince, which of course he doesn’t mind.
“Good morning Amrâlimé. Did you sleep well?” A smile graced your lips, as his groggy morning voice filled your ears. “How could I ever sleep bad beside you my love?” Your arms snaked tighter around him. Head on his chest you listened to his heartbeat. Chuckling at your words, he gave you a gentle kiss on the top of your head.
“Well if we consider yesterday-“ Your hand slapped at his chest playfully to stop him from finishing his sentence. Yesterday was another one of the infamous festivities that are celebrated in Erebor. And of course you attended them with Kili by your side. So one thing led to the other and now you were waking up beside him, completely bare.”You are such a tease.” You say while hiding the blush on your face by cuddling further into his chest.
One of his hands moved from your back to your head. His fingers nimbly brushed through your hair to get rid of knots while you hummed contently. You loved it when he played with your hair. And so did he. One of your favourite past time activities is braiding each other’s hair. Sometimes you sing during these times. And sometimes Kili plays a few soft notes on the flute while you add cute accessories into his braid.
You remember the first time you braided his hair. You were on your journey to win Erebor back when you found beautiful wildflowers which you thought would look stunning in Kilis hair. So you asked him if you could do so. Which resulted in him suddenly getting really quiet and blushing a bit while nodding. After you have finished his braid he asked you if you knew what it meant to braid a dwarfs hair. And so he explained the customs of courting to you. Which in return coloured your cheeks red. He even offered you a courting bead.
The sudden kiss on your lips takes you back to your reality. Smiling softly you let your hands brush over his stubble. “I love you Kili.” You gave him another soft peck. A sigh left his lips, as he pulled you closer. “Let me show you how much I love you Amrâlimé.”
