Dear Yuletide Writer:
Hello my lovely! Thank you so much for enjoying one (or more, I suppose) of my tiny or new fandoms as much as I do. 💖
General Likes:
Found Family
Competence Porn
Partners-in-Crime (or crime-solving)
Case or Heist-fic
Domestic/Curtain-fic that focuses on how well they work/live together, that they’re friends as well as relatives/partners/lovers/etc. (Basically these people should LIKE each other as well as love each other, whether that’s familial or romantic.)
Hurt/Comfort
Character studies
The Best Revenge Is Living Well
I generally prefer my sex and violence levels to be canon-appropriate: terrible injury in a Ready-or-Not or Atomic Blonde fic would obviously make sense. But while there’s plenty of murder in Astreiant, we don’t (in general) linger in the graphic violence. Conversely, while there’s no explicit sex in Astreiant or the Raksura books, clearly they *have* sex, so that’d be fine in a fic. It’d be weird to write about sex at the Summit for 7kpp though, except maybe for Woodly?
Best judgement is fine, I’m okay with E rated fic, (except for Enola Holmes, no sex or romance please) but would prefer no hard kinks, since it’s hard to articulate preferences for those in a letter to a stranger without going even longer than usual.
DNWs:
mundane/modern AUs
a/b/o or mpreg
MCD
ANY Sexual violence, implied, threatened, historically referenced, or on screen.
Fandom Specifics:
Enola Holmes (movie)
I adore almost all versions of Sherlock Holmes, (the Tomato was A Delight, and the Mouse Is A Classic), and this one is no exception! I loved the way that Enola didn’t actually have much character development because she knew who she was right from the beginning and what she needed, she just had to actually go for it, but the people around her needed the push.
HOWEVER. While I love they Dysfunctional Family Holmes (and would adore it as a backdrop in whatever way you see fit) my prompts are actually for Edith, because her two scenes shone in an already bright and clever movie. Whether it’s remembering her past with bb!Enola, or how they become closer friends now after the movie or them watching Sherlock manage to acknowledge in his side-ways glancing sort of way that maybe Edith & Enola were right about him and he’s thinking about how he looks at things more now?
Tea and gossip? Letters & codes? Carefully not discussing whatever Eudoria is up to? SPARRING?!?
I am not picky.
Ready or Not
I just really adore Grace, they do such a good job with her dawning realization of what she's gotten into turning into her ability to outlast them all. Anything focusing on that would be great. (Orphan Grace determined to build her own family? At what point preparing for the wedding did she start to wonder if maybe something was off? Because once it gets going, she isn’t in denial about it for very long, so at some level... could she tell there was something more wrong here than the usual family dysfunction?)
Something with Mr. Le Bail's opinion on Grace herself (and/or the Le Domas' fall in contrast to her survival) would be awesome, but not required (thus why he's not in the character request).
I would also ADORE an aftermath fic, what it's like to be the sole survivor, the only heir, what she does with the morning (and lifetime) after. (Does Mr. Le Bail keep an eye on her? Does he try to offer her a deal? Does she ever stop looking for him out of the corner of her eye, or does she let him go along with the rest of them?) Show me how this lady made it.
Atomic Blonde
I don’t really have any more for prompts than that line in my sign-up. I love Lorraine/Delphine, and I like how deeply & purposefully unreliable Lorraine’s version of things is, and I would love an author that played with that and gave them More Adventures in whatever way they wanted.
Astreiant
The thing I’ve always loved about these books is the fact that Astreiant the city is as much a character as any of the people, so I’d love anything that focuses on that feeling of home they’ve found, even here in such a complicated place. (They’re complicated people, after all.) While I adore Istre, and would be fine with a fic about how he and Eslingen learn to be friends because of the overlap of their connections to Rathe, I would also be here for something that’s just Philip/Nico and the way they settle into each other, the ways they balance their jobs and each other, just anything about their lives together.
(This is really the fandom I’d most love curtain-fic for, just because the books themselves by necessity don’t linger in their relationship as much as the current politics/case. Not that I’d be against another case! I am always happy for more of those, too. *laughs*)
Raksura
I love how the Raksura are never once, even for a moment, human. They’re a lovely and amazing different species! I enjoy that! Definitely please lean into that.
But my absolute favorite thing is when Moon is exasperated by stupid Raksura politics or etiquette and another Raksura is exasperated by his refusal to “behave” and they’re both right and equally they will never agree on this. I enjoy it every damn time.
Whether that thing is him flinging himself into battle (and surviving, barely, because he’s good at that but it’s seldom pretty) or something about the different Consorts in Indigo Cloud and how terribly (wonderfully!) dissimilar they are when you stick them in a room together, or Jade awkwardly adoring Moon while also wanting to smack him upside the head, or Stone feeling every single damn one of his years every time Moon Does A Thing, or Chime starting to understand why Stone is Like That because he is now also very tired?
All good.
I feel like Moon is odd in that you could either do the Raksuran version of curtain-fic about manners at tea & playing with babies OR half-feral battles-to-the-death but there’s a not a lot that fits in-between and that is absolutely part of what I like about him. But also he’s totally got a great life now by the end of the books and that is giving the Fell the biggest FU and I like that too.
7KPP
I really adore the relationships amongst and between the NPCs in this game, as much as the ones the PC can build herself along the way. Beyond my favorites Penelope & Cordelia & Avalie, I just really like to dive into the entire setting: I would be especially interested in something “inside” one particular faction and showing how they do (or do not) get along, whichever one might jump out as interesting.
How awful is it in a room with all the Revaire delegates at the same time?
What do the Isle natives do when the delegates aren’t watching?
How does Ana prevent gratuitous stabbing when that’s also how she wants to deal with things?
Corval Politics? Enduring Blain? Jaslen making everything worse? (Zarad carefully laughing at only the right moments or the absolute most wrong ones?)
How on earth do Avalie & Lyon survive each other and their diametrically opposed viewpoints on politics and the Summit? (Is General Falon as eternally exhausted as I would be dealing with the both of them all the time?) WTF do the other delegates do trying to get along with Avalie and Lyon stealing the spotlight?
How did Emmet & Yvette meet? Are the other Arland delegates as obnoxious as that one guy at dinner, or do they have some quiet lovely souls hiding behind all those manners?
PIRATE SHENANIGANS? (Poor Cordelia avoiding the pirate shenanigans?)
What do the other Wellin delegates think of their royal siblings? What does Lisle really think of their Grand Duke? (How much of his protective behavior is shielding Penelope from their own people vs the Summit? Or is guarding his Princess one of Woodly’s lines, and thus he can help with that? WHO KNOWS? I would like to.)
tl;dr: I can ramble a lot! I like knowing why people like each other and are good at things! Happy endings are great & greatly appreciated! That’s really the most important parts.
Anon messaging is on, if you want to ask me weird questions about tiny fandoms! I LOVE YULETIDE! (I hope you enjoy yourself too.)

Ok. We got hurt from the last anon. How about Crossbow and Canary smutty headcanons? :)
now that--
Helena is a bottom, Huntress is a top
As per my recent TED Talk, it is agreed that Helena and her Huntress persona share some noticeable differences when it comes her certainty and maturity. Helena’s lack of experience and confidence in most areas of an ordinary human life makes her more flexible and submissive to Dinah’s more knowledgeable, masterful touch.
However, when emotions are high and the adrenaline from a fight has yet to fully dissipate, lines between a skilled assassin with incredible precision and a socially awkward jock that freezes at the sight of boobs get blurred. Maybe it’s the fact that Dinah is still in her Black Canary outfit, or the fact that the warehouse became a symbol of their long nights kicking ass -- maybe because the fight lasted too long, or the criminals were more of a challenge this time, maybe it’s all of that combined and the rough energy that has yet to evaporate from their sweat... but Helena’s eyes seen darker than usual. And Dinah feels a delicious kind of fear swirling inside, under that stare. She gladly surrenders control.
Some hearing damage
It’s not like Dinah doesn’t try her best to contain it. She does! Even if she couldn’t break windows and glasses with the vibration of her voice, she’d still be considerate enough of the neighbors. But, sometimes, it just escapes her. And she blames Helena for that. Damned italian assassin, all muscles and big brown eyes and gentle hands. Dinah can’t help the little moans that slip through her lips. And when the first one escapes her, it’s only downhill from there. Helena responds accordingly, and Dinah is overpowered.
She already broke most of their glasses, but what she feel really bad about, is that Helena wakes up hearing an annoying high frequency, and it lasts until middle of the day. Helena explains, well, shouts that, “IT’S OKAY. I DON’T MIND IT. DON’T FEEL BAD”. And there’s this satisfied, almost smug smile on Helena’s lips, that Dinah wishes she could hear her whisper “Oh, you idiot. I love you”.
Turns out, having a non-hearing Helena for half a day has its perks. Finally, Dinah gets to say “Do you have any idea how bad I wanted to jump your bones on that Carousel?” and “I’m so glad you let me climb that”, and occasionally “Your eyeliner doesn’t cover those big puppy eyes and you’re cute even in all black and leather, I’m sorry”
Sex and fighting share a lot in common
See item 1. And that goes for both of them. Dinah and Helena work that special kind of job, that gets the blood bumping and the sweat dripping and the muscles aching. And they work so well together, so close together. It’s easy to forget when the job ends and the fun begins. Nothing like kicking a sex-trafficker in the dick so hard they bleed to get that exhilarating high of a job well done. It’s wickedly satisfying. Then Renee expects them calmly to clean up, dress up and go to bed? Separate beds? Ludicrous. They look hot and they’re ready to go. There’s no time to waste.
Battle scars
Helena endured a tough training growing up and her pain tolerance is off the charts. And when Dinah has to muffle a particularly deafening Canary Cry, that energy gets redirected somewhere else. She makes sure to take all of her rings to keep from hurting Helena............. further. But she just loves the feeling of her fingers scratching the pale skin, over the defined muscles, and leaving faint red marks on their wake. It’s a special kind of pleasure, to be so close and dangerous with someone like Helena. Dinah feels strangely powerful, having the feared Crossbow Killer moaning under her touch.
Muscles are good for fighting and other things
Just to list a few: lifting someone over a counter, flipping position in bed in a second, taking control of the movement in case of weakened legs, pining someone against the wall, tearing a stubborn piece of clothing off a body. Many, many uses for muscles. Also, they provide a hard and smooth surface for........ many other things, too.
A metahuman’s stamina vs an assassin’s
It’s a marvelous, majestic fight with no losers. It’s also feral. Very. They rarely get tired, but then they do, they’re exhausted, beaten, useless. It’s a miracle none of them have passed out yet. This is dangerous. Helena should get them both fancy health ensure, just in case.
Of Canary Cries and Sicilian
Again, in the heat of the moment, their brains don’t think thoughts too good, words and screams, even worse. At least when Helena switches languages without noticing and whispers that sweet sicilian in raspy breaths, no one gets hurt.

speaking of karma in the boarding school, what headcanons do you have for him in his dorm and such?
Ah, Karma. It would be predictable if I say he's rooming with Nagisa, but at the same time I sorta don't want him to leave Nagisa because I don't know what'll happen (will the school explode?). But as I explore more of Karma's possible dynamics with his other classmates, I find them hella fun to imagine. I'm going to split the boys according to their groups in the Kyoto school trip (because I feel like the groups show who's friends with who and who works well with who).
General headcanons:
- Karma can and will be tidy if he wants to, but sometimes he just dumps dirty clothes around in random places (including other people's beds)
- Pranks. Pranks everywhere. Stealing clothes, whoopee cushions, random rubber chickens, uses wasabi to threaten others, etc.
- Acts innocent when accused with pranking even though everyone knows Karma's responsible.
- *stands on the top bunk* "I'M GOING TO JUMP DOWN!!"
- Will definitely defy the dorm's rules, whether the official rules or the ones set by others
- Someone: Please don't eat in the dorm
Karma: *pulling out a bag of chips* I will take this chip and eat it and you can't stop me
- Nobody dares to touch Karma's bed/area because God knows what he put/stores there :0
- Karma: *points to someone with patterned PJs* oooooh cute pyjamas! ;)
- (By patterned I don't mean stripes or the generic stuff, I mean patterns like aliens and animals)
- For the first few nights, no one in Karma's dorm can sleep peacefully
- Karma's the kind of person who semi-regularly sneaks around after curfew (to find his friends if not in the same dorm)
- However, Karma can effectively act as leader of the dorm when needed, such as in emergency situations and assassinations
If Karma rooms with Isogai, Maehara and Kimura (Group 1):
- Isogai tries his very best to stop Karma from destroying the dorm
- Karma only listens to Isogai occasionally out of respect and admiration
- Kimura's original plan was stick to Isogai and Maehara and hope Karma won't notice him, but it fails because Karma yells "SONIC THE HEDGEHOG" at Kimura everytime he passes by
- (Kimura also feels rather self conscious in a dorm full of attractive boys)
- Occasionally, Kimura gets influenced by Karma, and he also tries to do dumb shit like jumping down from bunk beds
- (Isogai: sTOP!!)
- Karma pranks Isogai the least (because that dude has boring reactions)
- Karma always tries to steal Maehara's clothes (c'mon, doesn't Maehara like to show off his body anyways?) to Maehara's annoyance
- The other boys sometimes help Maehara, but sometimes decide to leave him alone
- (Isogai: This is what you get for being a womanizer.)
- (Kimura: Yeah, I mean Karma's a bitch.)
- This dorm would be so... overpowered. Isogai and Maehara are like the best in knifework for boys. Kimura's the fastest. Karma's scarily good at combat. Wow.
- Therefore, Karma doesn't try to piss them off too much
If Karma rooms with Chiba, Sugaya, Mimura and Okajima (Group 2):
- Okajima is the one who's most terrified of Karma. Mimura feels worried, but at first he somehow trusts that Karma won't do that much damage. Sugaya's similar to Mimura, but also pretty chill with the situation. Chiba, well, he feels dread.
- Sugaya doesn't mind the pranks too much so long it doesn't bother him (or use his art supplies)
- Mimura rather reluctantly becomes the "mom" figure of the dorm and reprimands Karma for whatever he does
- That is until Chiba snaps (because he's had enough) and sasses Karma 24/7
- Sometimes Mimura gets tired and just let Karma and Chiba battle it out
- Karma also apparently finds Chiba's reactions humorous and tries to get him to talk.
- Karma: Can I-
Chiba, without even looking up: No.
- Karma pranks Okajima the most, followed by Chiba
- Karma doesn't damage stuff that's precious to the others (eg. Okajima's camera, Sugaya's art supplies)
- However, he LOVES exposing Okajima's porn magazines and makes a big show of destroying them in different ways (by burning? Tearing them up? Rolling them into balls? Sending them to the girls?)
- (That is one of the rare times when Chiba, Sugaya and Mimura are all standing with Karma.)
- Sugaya once found random wasabi tubes in his box of poster colours. Naturally, he was confused and scared. (No damage was done to the poster colours)
- Karma + Sugaya = "let's expose Chiba's eyes" squad
- Chiba nopes away pretty quickly
- Karma is not as artsy as the others but he likes to leave random compliments
- Karma always checks Okajima's camera for any.... inappropriate photos and probably blackmails him A LOT (again, no damage was done to the camera itself)
- Of course, Karma uses the blackmail to dare Okajima to do a lot of stupid things (usually in front of an audience)
- Chiba is probably like the neatest of everyone and gets lowkey annoyed by how messy the others can be
- One second Karma can have his area all tidied up, the next second the entire dorm can descend into chaos. Chiba does not know what to do.
- Karma finds random badges with random English phrases and secretly puts them on Chiba's beanies (Chiba unexpectedly finds a few of the badges rather to his taste)
If Karma rooms with Terasaka, Yoshida, Muramatsu, Takebayashi and Itona (Group 3):
- Karma teases the HELL out of Terasaka (and his gang)
- But he enjoys pranking Terasaka the most, followed by Takebayashi
- He goes absolutely crazy, and scampers around the dorm like a feral child and switches clothes (eg. Yoshida's clothes go to Takebayashi)
- Terasaka breaks a lot of stuff in anger. Karma teases him for it.
- Takebayashi hopes to remain invisible but unfortunately, that fails
- Sometimes Takebayashi straight up leaves in the dorm with the "he has the left the group chat" energy
- Karma is the least controlled here
- Takebayashi is pretty much Done with all the mess and dirty clothes (I hc that because he's the son of doctors, he's especially hygienic)
- Muramatsu and Yoshida just chill during any Karma VS Terasaka sessions
- Terasaka: A little help here!
Yoshida and Muramatsu: *snacking on popcorn* Suddenly we can't hear
- Itona does absolutely nothing. I can imagine him sitting perfectly still, cross-legged on the top bunk, staring at whatever happens below
- Itona sometimes goes feral along with Karma. Terasaka yells about how Karma is a bad influence on Itona.
- Upon learning that Muramatsu screams like a little girl when he sees cockroaches, Karma obviously places a lot of fake cockroaches in the dorm
If Karma rooms with Nagisa and Sugino (Group 4):
- It goes exactly how it went down in canon. Karma does something stupid, Nagisa sweatdrops, Sugino pulls Nagisa aside and hisses on whether rooming with Karma is such a good idea after all
- Karma, in typical Karma fashion, makes comments on how Nagisa can sneak in the girls' dorm without anyone noticing. He also dares Nagisa to sleep in the girls' dorm for one night. Sugino quickly stops Karma before it gets out of control.
- Karma: H-
Sugino: No.
Karma: Did you mean SugiNO? ;)
Sugino: *screams in frustration*
- Sugino attempts to protect Nagisa from Karma. Somehow, it ends up with Nagisa protecting Sugino.
- Sugino, at one point: I have a baseball bat and I'm not afraid to use it!!
- Nagisa tries and fails to maintain order
- Sugino has tried to leave the dorm with Nagisa many times, but Nagisa always goes back because he knows Karma will go batshit if there's no one to control him
- Sugino does not understand Nagisa's mentality.
- However, the three warm up to each other due to Nagisa's efforts and they play card games or something

Favorite video games of all time?
Get ready for a LONG post, folks! However…allow me to break this down to my three favorite video game genres: Fighting games, RPGs/JRPGs, and Platformers/Action Platformers (both 2D and 3D). However! Since I feel like these posts are gonna take MUCH longer than I thought it would, I’m just gonna divide the genres into separate posts. But for now, let’s stick with the…
FIGHTING GAMES!:
Dragon Ball FighterZ: My number one favorite (traditional) fighting game of all time. My favorite ArcSys game of all time. My favorite Dragon Ball game of all time. This game is the reason how I got into the Dragon Ball franchise back when I’ve had to little to NO interest in the franchise, even when I’ve watched the ENTIRE Namek saga from the original anime back in 2009. The game’s GORGEOUS art style, every character animation’s (such as specials, supers, intros, victory poses, and ESPECIALLY the Dramatic Finishes) faithfulness to the original manga AND anime of Dragon Ball Z and other DB properties (such as GT and Super), the AWESOME soundtrack (courtesy of ArcSys theirselves, who’re known for awesome music in their games), the 3v3 gameplay, the character roster (though I’ll admit that having five Gokus and Three Vegetas is rather silly), having a new character design by DB creator Akira Toriyama himself, and lastly, being a breath of fresh air to those new to the fighting game genre (since the genre itself is notorious for its high learning curves) AND to Dragon Ball fans who were sick and tired of having the story of DBZ recapped over and over and over AND OVER AGAIN is a fucking sight to behold. This game FUCKING RULES (and a million times better than MvC:I). However, I wouldn’t call it perfect. I’ll admit that the Story Mode is rather lackluster, Arcade Mode is rather lacking, the Shop is completely randomized, and the Online Mode, much like every other fighting game, suffers from lag, spammable players, or just outright ragequitters. That, and the fact that, unlike MvC3 and BB:CTB, every character assist only sticks to ONE attack (meaning that more than one character is gonna have a Kamehameha assist), and that MOST PLAYERS you’re gonna run into is gonna main the likes of Cell (who ENJOYS dragging out combos for as long as possible), Adult Gohan (like Cell, also drags out long combos), and Vegeta (Super Saiyan, because of his assist. Need I say more?). But aside from those flaws, it is hands down the BEST fighting game I’ve ever played, next to…well, below.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: My number one favorite (unique) fighting game of all time. My favorite Nintendo game of all time. Series creator Masahiro Sakurai is a man that I’d like to describe as…well, not only doing the impossible and HIGHLY respected, but also putting those filthy naysayers about certain characters in their place. The fact that the whole point of Smash Ultimate was to include EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER FROM SMASH 64 TO SMASH 4 (Wii U and 3DS), INCLUDING EVERY THIRD-PARTY CHARACTERS DESPITE THE LICENSING AND DEVELOPMENT ISSUES THIS WOULD CAUSE is another sight to behold. FUCK Melee, THIS is hands-down the best Smash game of all time! The inclusion of Spirits, the Adventure Mode, the Boss battles, the gameplay, the kind of chicanery you can pull, the game’s main theme “Lifelight”, the roster, the soundtrack…there’s just ALOT about this game that I just fucking adore. What can you make folks more hyped about this game? Oh, I don’t know…why not shock everybody with JOKER (from Persona 5) AND BANJO & KAZOOIE (who’s still owned by Microsoft) being in the game. What I love about Smash Bros is how Sakurai is just outright defies those say certain characters cant appear in the series for silliest (or justifiable) reasons. Cloud can’t be in Smash because his game was never released on a Nintendo console until 2019? No problem! Ridley’s too big therefore he can’t be playable? Fuck that! Banjo & Kazooie can’t be in Smash because they’re owned by Microsoft of the Xbox brand? It’s fine! Why? “Because I AM HERE!” -Banjo (JK, but seriously, the fact that Banjo’s in was quite a surprise.) Smash 4 is the reason how I got into Final Fantasy VII, and I hold the entire Smash series in high regard for doing so. Goddamn, do I love this franchise! But! Again, it’s not perfect. The Online Mode is MUCH worse than DBFighterZ (to the point where you’re more than likely to end up in a battle with Items TURNED ON or stages with distracting hazards, OR end up fighting the SAME fucking characters I hate fighting against, such as Little Mac, Falco, Inkling, Incineroar, etc.), and that fighting against EVERY single spirit in the Adventure Mode to get 100% can get rather tiring (not to mention that you gotta get BOTH bad endings from fighting Galeem solo AND Dharkon solo), lack of additional content upon release (Stage Builder and Home-Run Content weren’t even implemented into the game at first), and lastly (although these two complaints are one of more personal matter and one towards Square Enix), the fact Zero from Mega Man X, my favorite video game character is ASSIST character instead of a playable was really heartbreaking to see (but hey, I’m not complaining TOO much since I enjoy interacting with him in my free time in Training), and lastly, the fact that Cloud, and to high extent, Final Fantasy VII AND the FF franchise as a whole has LITTLE TO NO representation in this game whatsoever (again, I feel like this was more of SE’s fault than Sakurai’s). No spirits, no “Fighter Spirit” artwork from the original FFVII, no Assist characters, not being dubbed in English AGAIN (though this was more of a contract issue with SE), no additional music on Midgar, NOTHING. But, nonetheless…this game is fucking awesome.
Blazblue: Cross Tag Battle: Ahahahahaha! Ah…Oh, Blazblue…I love this franchise oh-so much, but the fact that it hasn’t received the same treatment as Guilty Gear lately (not to mention the mainstream Blazblue games, aka the C-series, has pretty much came to an end) is a rather sad sight to see…depression aside, I love Blazblue. I REALLY do! I love the characters, I love the stages, I love the music, the story is confusing as FUCK, but it’s a fighting game franchise I’ve discovered WAY back 2012 and I still love to this day, even more so than Guilty Gear (don’t @ me). So…what to do now? Could there perhaps be another Blazblue game? A game that just so happens to be a crossover? One just as awesome as Smash Bros? Ooh! How about…PERSONA 4?!? UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH?!? A FRANCHISE THAT, LIKE DRAGON BALL AND FFVII, I’VE HAD NO INTEREST IN UP UNTIL 2018 (aka RWBY)?!? AAAAAAAAAAAAAA- Fangasm aside, the fact that this game even EXISTS is an achievement in its own right. As stated before, this game is the reason how I got into RWBY. What I really love and adore about the game are the interactions among the characters. That, and I was SO HAPPY to hear that the game would be dubbed in English, after GG:Xrd Revelator and BB: Central Fiction lacked a dub. I was not only excited to hear the likes of Ragna, Noel, and Hazama voiced in English again, but I was also happy to hear that any characters who’ve never been dubbed in English in the past (characters from UNIB, newcomers in BB:CF, etc.) would be dubbed in English as well. Hell, the fact that the characters from both Blazblue AND Persona 4 (two franchises/games I really love) being in the EXACT same game together was enough to make me be all like “Shut up, and take my money!”, considering how crazy excited I was in the past to see them interacting with one another via fanart and fanfiction (thanks to the Persona 4 Arena games being developed by ArcSys). And if you thought having only THOSE four franchises in the game was enough, you’d be wrong! Here’s Arcana Heart! Here’s Senran Kagura! Here’s a FIFTH character from RWBY: Neo Politan! This game, much like DBFZ and Smash Ultimate, is awesome. However, complaints I do have towards the game are the Online Mode (although the chibi interactions are cute and adorable and I will praise the Online Mode for that, and ONLY THAT), Gordeau from UNIB is still a problem, the rest of the half of the roster is entirely DLC, lack of additional content upon release, the control scheme is WAY too simplistic (even moreso than DBFZ), and lastly, while I love the sprites ArcSys did for RWBY, the reused sprites from Blazblue, Persona 4 Arena, and UNIB is also a complaint I have (but a minor one, mind you. They could’ve just easily redone the sprites specifically for this game, but…no). And while this game isn’t exactly in my top two favorite fighting games, it’s definitely in my top THREE. Also, I have yet to actually to play the Story Mode of this game, but I haven’t yet, therefore, I hold no opinion on the story as of currently. Marvel vs Capcom-styled traditional fighting games are hands-down, my go-to preference for traditional fighters.
Dissidia (and Dissidia 012): Final Fantasy: Forget Dissidia NT, THIS game (mostly Dissidia 012) is what an awesome 3D Action Fighting game is about! Much like how Smash Ultimate’s a unique fighting game (a Platform Fighter), this game is also a unique type of fighting game, possessing RPG elements and just having a blast with its awesome combat system. Cloud and Sephiroth were just so much fun to play as, with Terra, Squall, and WoL being my other favorite characters in this awesome game. This game is also essentially a HUGE homage to Final Fantasy as whole. From the ongoing conflicts between Cosmos and Chaos, to MULTIPLE references to the character’s original games, to additional modes that involve unlocking the likes of Gilgamesh from FFV, or fighting against the most frustrating secret final boss I’ve ever had the displeasure of fighting against (Feral Chaos), these games are awesome! Also, the reason why I’m addressing both games as a single installment here is because technically, while Dissidia 012 IS a prequel, it pretty has the same content (no, scratch that, MORE content) from the first Dissidia game and it’s pretty much an updated…well, not a “port”, per say, more like an enhanced re-release, much like Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 or any of the Blazblue EXTEND re-releases. However, complaints I have for Dissidia is that certain characters are annoying to fight against (such as Jecht, FUCK that character), the RPG system takes a while to build up until your favorite characters are FINALLY at Level 100, trying to get the rarest Equipment is rather difficult, and lastly, the action commands for certain character’s EX Bursts can be retooled for the sake of a proper fighting game, but then again, Dissidia ain’t a “traditional” fighting game. But aside from that, not only is this my favorite Action RPG/Fighting game of all time, but this is also my favorite Final Fantasy Spin-Off of all time.
Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars: What’s that? You were expecting a Marvel vs Capcom game to be on this list, let alone my top 5? Too bad! It’s Tatsunoko, baby! This one definitely holds a spot in my heart as this game stands as my number one favorite “Capcom vs Whatever” game of all time (yes, even moreso than Marvel vs Capcom itself OR any of the SNK vs Capcom games, don’t @ me). I love this game. I love its soundtrack (ESPECIALLY its main theme, “Across the Border”), I love the roster (despite being small), I love the final boss of the Arcade Mode (Yami, from Capcom’s Okami), and I love the gameplay. My complaints goes towards the lack of additional content outside of Arcade and the Gallery (although the top-down shooter minigame is rather fun), and, as stated before, small roster. But other than that, this game was really fun to play.

the game over "ending" vs actual canon ending reverses the roles terezi and rose faced, so far as who ends up with a "fulfilling" and happy ending, if that makes sense?
in game over rose died in a fruitless attempt to avenge her girlfriend, who died right in front of her. she struggled with addiction for years beforehand and had no chance to overcome it, and she finally reunited with her mom and best friend, only to immediately die feeling heartbroken and guilty for the life she lead.
but game over terezi, while bleeding to death, finally unlocked the full potential of her powers to make john fix the timeline, and gave them a fighting chance at living in a world where they succeed, because at least they can be happy. then she uses her powers to have a badass death, and reunites with her ex gf and they hold each other and smile while the universe itself falls apart.
but then you get to the successful ending.
rose doesn't get addicted bc vriska goes feral when she's so drunk she accidentally stands up her and kanaya's date, which leads to her having a more fulfilling relationship with kanaya. she gets to fight a cool ass battle with her gf and in the end they get married on their new planet and things are happy.
but terezi on the other hand, admits to an unhealthy dynamic in her and vriska's relationship. she gets to fight a cool battle, and wins, but in the end, instead of staying on earth c to build a happy life for herself, she's unhappy, unsure. and in the end she decides she cant take it, she has to have vriska, and abandons the world her and the others rightfully earned in order to try and find vriska, despite knowing they weren't the healthiest pair.
(if the details here seem spotty that's bc im sick and tired and im not fact checking anything on this i just got rlly inspired to make a long post abt some hs girls lmao)
