Back Against the Wall (Lindell Book 1) A small town, single dad, enemies to lovers romance by Marie James is Live!
Crawling back to this small town was never in hockey star Chase Woodson’s plans. From hitting hockey pucks in front of thousands to selling urinal pucks at his father’s hardware store, coming back home is his worst nightmare. But being a (newly) single dad of twin boys means making sacrifices. His boys need stability and his dad needs his help in the store. Now he needs her. Except, Chase has been the bane of Madison Kelly’s existence since high school. She just so happens to be the only available nanny in town. Besides, high school was ten years ago. People don’t hold grudges that long, right?

🍕 BOOK FEATURE 🍕 Q: Do you have a large extended family, and/or a rich culture your family celebrates? A: My family isn't that big, plus dad was in the Air Force so we moved around a ton. We're also very basic white folks so I am jealous of other folks' cultural heritage 😂 (swipe for double photo bomb) 🍕 Thanks so much to Partner @bibliolifestyle and @williammorrowbooks for the gifted copy of VARINA PALLADINO'S JERSEY ITALIAN LOVE STORY by @terrilynnedefino! This book is giving me MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING vibes, and I am here for it! 😍 (I saw that in the theater, by the way....if that gives you an idea of how darn old I am 🤣) The book is available NOW (released Feb 14) anywhere books are sold, so check it out! SYNOPSIS: Lively widow Varina Palladino has lived in the same house in Wyldale, New Jersey, her entire life. The town might be slightly stuck in the 1960s, when small businesses thrived and most residents were Italian, but its population is getting younger and the Palladinos are embracing the change. What Varina’s not embracing, much to her ninety-two-year-old mother’s dismay, is dating. Running Palladino’s Italian Specialties grocery, caring for her mother, and keeping her large, loud Jersey Italian family from killing one another takes up all of Varina’s energy anyway. Sylvia Spini worries about her daughter Varina being left all alone when she dies. Sylvia knows what it is to be old and alone, so when her granddaughter, Donatella, comes to her with an ill-conceived plan to find Varina a man, Sylvia dives in. The three men of the family—Dante, Tommy, and Paulie—are each secretly plotting their own big life changes, which will throw everyone for a loop. Three generations of Paladinos butt heads and break one another’s hearts as they wrestle with their own Jersey Italian love stories in this hilarious and life-affirming ode to love and family. 🍕🍕🍕 #varinapalladinosjerseyitalianlovestory #terrilynnedefino #terrilynnedefinobook #contemporaryromance #contemporarybooks #adultcontemporary #februaryrelease #gifted #bibliolifestyle #williammorrowbooks #williammorrow #bookstagrammers #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagramtour #amreading https://www.instagram.com/p/Cpx1rrRLSqy/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Better late than never, here are the six books that we have added to our TBR list for this February!
As Bright as Heaven by Susan Meissner (Release Date: February 6th)
Set in Philadelphia during the 1918 epidemic of the Spanish Flu, As Bright as Heaven is a story of heartbreak and perseverance. Pauline Bright and her husband venture to Philadelphia with their three daughters in the hope of having a better life. However, these hopes are quickly dashed as only a few months later the Spanish Flu arrives on American soil. With more than twelve thousand victims in their town, the Bright family are thrust into a world entirely different from that they had come to know. Then, even as they lose their own family around them, they take in a baby orphaned by the disease who becomes a beacon of hope for their family.
Vengeance by Zachary Lazar (Release Date: February 13th)
Having been called ‘powerful and important’ Lazar’s fifth novel brings the American incarceration crisis even further into the spotlight.  The main character and narrator, who remains nameless throughout the story befriends an inmate at a Louisiana prison when he visits for an Easter pageant. The inmate, Kendrick King is serving a life sentence for a murder that he maintains he did not commit. With his interest piqued the narrator starts to investigate, endeavouring to sort out what happened in King's life. Along the way, he meets all of the people in King’s family, and as his investigation progresses the writers own sense of identity comes into question.
Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi (Release Date: February 13th)
Born in Nigeria, Ada always knew she was different and felt as though she had “one foot on the other side”. Throughout her journey towards maturity, her identity becomes increasingly fractious and it becomes clear that something went terribly wrong on the night she was born. When she comes of age she moves from Nigeria to America to go to college where a traumatic assault leads to her other selves being cemented in her psyche. Her alternate selves, Asughara and Saint Vincent, start to take over and Ada begins to fade into the background of her own mind. As their control grows her life starts to spiral towards the dark and dangerous.
Drawing on the authors' own experiences this is a powerful story about identity, love and self-destruction.
White Houses by Amy Bloom (Release Date: February 13th)
A love story inspired by “one of the most intriguing relationships in history”. A young woman, Lorena Hickock met Eleanor Roosevelt in 1932 while reporting on the presidential campaign of Franklin Roosevelt. Throughout the campaign, the relationship between Eleanor and Lorena deepens into intimacy and she moves into the white house and becomes known as the “first friend”. For readers who enjoyed “The Paris Wife” and “Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald” Amy Bloom’s new novel tells a love story that is complicated and constantly scrutinised by the public eye.
What Are We Doing Here: Essays by Marilynne Robinson (Release Date: February 20th)
A new collection of essays brought to us by the Pulitzer Prize winner Marilynne Robinson. With most of the essays delivered as lectures at universities and religious institutions, she tackles the topics of faith, history and modern values, providing insight into our modern political climate and the mysteries of faith.
Some Hell by Patrick Nathan  (Release Date: February 20th)
A heart-wrenching story about a gay teenager wrestling with guilt after his fathers' suicide. After the tragic night, his mother throws herself into therapy and Colin tries to find someone to confide in about his struggles with his identity and his feelings for his best friend Andy. After trying to talk to his estranged grandfather, he turns to a science teacher whose motivations are far from honourable. It is then that he finds solace in the mysterious writings that his father kept in a series of notebooks locked in his study. A story that will break your heart and build it back up again, this debut novel is devastatingly intense and shows how tragedy can shape a life.
A Girl Like That by Tanaz Bhathena (Release Date: February 27th)
Set in Saudi Arabia, this beautifully written debut novel from Tanaz Bhathena tackles the issues of race, identity, class and religion, experienced by young teens in a strict Islamic environment. Zarin Wadia is a sixteen-year-old studious orphan with a tendency to take risks.  Naturally, this makes parents wary of her, with them telling their children “You don’t want to get involved with a girl like that”. All of them listened to their parents except for Porus Dumasia, an eighteen-year-old who has only ever had eyes for her. The biggest question though, is how did they end up dead in a car together? Through the following investigation, Zarin’s story is pieced together and it becomes clear to everyone that she was more than just a troublemaker.
Out of these six titles will any be making their way onto your TBR lists?
