Well, they're having problems. Demons? No. Local parishes in Ryland are protesting.

okay, maybe the day after the show has ended is the worst time to try and get people to watch it BUT can we please get more people on tumblr to watch evil. let me share the ways in which it is everything tumblr always says it wants:
it's x-files meets supernatural - a psychologist, a priest, and a scientist walk into a bar get hired by the catholic church to investigate demonic possessions
kristen bouchard. woman of All Time. canonically bisexual psychologist mother of the best daughters ever, wants to fuck a priest so bad it makes her look stupid and also definitely murders at least one guy and probably seduces a nun. single handedly destroying the catholic church by making everyone horny
father david acosta, hot priest 2 electric boogaloo. mike colter being the softest catholic priest who also vividly hallucinates biblical visions and has sex dreams about a demonic version of his best friend
ben shakir. ben the magnificent. my perfect skeptic, my favorite special little guy who gets his head quantum fucked and starts seeing a djinn. but before that he's the driest, most reluctant demon hunter ever and the best accidental stepdad to four teenagers. ultimate girl dad. genuinely offers to kill someone for kristen but can't say I love you. if you have ben in your corner, I think you could kick god's ass
you want to watch something that isn't just another show about white dudes? the only lead who is a white dude is the villain and literally (?) a servant of satan
on that note, the ? after literally is because the show never actually confirms that any the supernatural shit is real. incredible needle to thread
the OT3 to end all OT3s. none of these people ever have sex with each other but they are SO in love and devoted to each other its insane. you think you know what a situationship looks like but you haven't seen three people have to pull over off the highway simply so they can all hug. they would kill and die for each other but mostly they sit on the floor and get drunk on tiny margaritas in a can
a nun played by andrea martin who is literally holding the braincell for the entire catholic church. she actually fights demons and is afraid of no creature in heaven or hell. I want her to be my grandma
I could go on forever and ever but you just gotta watch it. it's on paramount plus and netflix and you're gonna fall in love with it I promise

DEACON AIYDEN EDWARDS. 46. he/him.
VITALS.
FULL NAME: deacon aiyden edwards
NICKNAME: deacon, dick (if you are being obtuse), cookie monster
GENDER & PRONOUNS: cis man, he/him
AGE / DOB: 45 / august 10, 1979 (leo ☼ capricorn ☾ capricorn ↑)
OCCUPATION: professional golfer
NEIGHBORHOOD: oak gardens
LENGTH OF TIME IN BLUE HARBOR: local, moved to ny in 1998; returned in 2020
RELATIONSHIP STATUS: single
SEXUALITY: home of sexual :)
CHARACTER INSPIRATIONS: chidi anagonye (the good place), gregory eddie (abbott elementary), colin zabel (mare of easttown), michael (imagine me gone), father david acosta (evil) 😇
SUMMARY. ( content warnings: home invasion, death, substance abuse mention )
born and raised in chicago, deacon and his family moved around in the hopes of securing a tenure-track position for his academic mother. this goal eventually landed the family in blue harbor, a sleepier town than the edwards were used to—but the perfect place to finally settle into after years of job insecurity. when deacon was thirteen, the edwards family adopted thalia, the living daughter of his mother's former contemporary, upon finding out that she had been orphaned following a home invasion. possessing none of his father's drive, his mother's wit, and thalia's wisdom beyond her years, Deacon took to professional sports and eventually found his niche in golf. fucking golf. following an amateur high of winning the U.S. amateur and the NCAA championships (go oklahoma state, etc.) at age 22, deacon graduated and accepted a PGA tour membership. from thereon came a series of extreme highs (winning three of four major championships in a single season) and extreme lows (well, losing all of them, and spectacularly at that). his storied but inconsistent career has led to a nickname "the maverick", retiring at 41 to take care of his ailing parent. four years later, he's looking to make another comeback in the scene—but it's increasingly becoming more aware that his time in the professional circuit is running out.
FULL BIOGRAPHY. trigger warnings apply. HEADCANONS.
tl;dr sad dad, except he's actually quite chipper, thank you very much, and that he doesn't have any real kids of his own. but it's the vibes.
golf isn't the most particularly physical sport out there, but he's conditioned himself with the same athletic prowess of a footballer. when he was fourteen years old, his mother said that doing push-ups could help curb his anxiety, and he just... simply never stopped. these days, he's very much of a bundle of nerves short-circuiting all at once, a fact that he hides quite well because of his unflappable demeanor (outside of competition, at least) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
his mind feels relentlessly like it is on overdrive. while he is keen to take life not too seriously, this mindset has left him on the fringes of existential dread. SUBSTANCE ABUSE TW / in the past, he'd found a way out to quiet his mind through drugs, but anyone who spends more than a few fleeting encounters with him may figure out he needs a different kind of medication. anti-anxiety? anti-depression? for all forty-five years, he's never much cared for the answer.

Watching evil is what I imagine it would be like to be god because listen, every week on Thursday night my boyfriend I gather on the couch to yell at father David Acosta for not heeding his visions. We shout at the Monsignor for not allowing sister Andrea to examine his side.

Once reunited, the Rebels team up with a tribe of Ewoks to combat the Imperial forces on the forest moon of Endor. Meanwhile the Emperor (Carter Pewterschmidt) and Darth Vader (Stewie) conspire to turn Luke to the dark side, and young Skywalker is determined to rekindle the spirit of the Jedi within his father. The Galactic Civil War has never been more outrageous, as the Rebel forces gather to attack the seemingly defenseless and incomplete second Death Star in the battle that will determine the fate of the galaxy.” ‑ Manu Gino
