On one such trip, after ancients knows how many hours he hears a bark that echoes in his ectoplasm. He thinks at first that it's Cujo, come to fetch him at the request of his sister or his friends. But the dog he sees when he turns around isn't Cujo.

When the mission called for deep cover, you didn’t expect the word “deep” to include matching gold rings, monogrammed towels, and a suspiciously enthusiastic real estate agent named Cheryl who insisted on taking your "first home" photo. Overnight, you became Mrs. Kennedy—wife to one of the most maddeningly attractive and emotionally shut-off agents you’d ever been paired with. It was either going to be a nightmare or the weirdest honeymoon ever.

You and Leon Kennedy—veteran agents, equally skilled but polar opposites in personality—were embedded in an idyllic cul-de-sac straight out of a retro postcard. Your mission was to blend in as a married couple while quietly surveilling the neighbors across the street, suspected high-ranking Umbrella operatives. The mission brief said three weeks. Your gut said it would feel like forever.

The first week was textbook awkward. Snarky banter filled the air like static. You argued over who should mow the lawn, why your fake dog needed a name, and whether Leon’s idea of cooking dinner—frozen lasagna and cold cereal—qualified as edible. He called it “a classic American meal.” You called it a potential health hazard.

Neighbors dropped by with pies and casseroles, eager to meet the “newlyweds.” Brenda, your across-the-street neighbor and self-appointed HOA gossip queen, practically camped at your doorstep with passive-aggressive muffins and endless questions. “Do you two have plans for children soon?” she’d ask sweetly, while you and Leon fumbled through contradictory answers. She even started leaving welcome cards and neighborhood bulletins in your mailbox, always signed with a heart and a smiley face.

But somewhere in that absurd routine—between grocery store runs, HOA meetings, and nights spent pretending to cuddle on the porch while watching the suspect’s house—something began to shift.

Leon started making your coffee in the mornings, just the way you liked it—two sugars, a splash of cream, and no judgment. He handed you your favorite granola bars without being asked. You saved the last slice of apple pie, just in case he wanted it. He fixed the jammed drawer in your fake shared bedroom without a word. You rearranged the photos on the fridge so your undercover “wedding” picture didn’t look so stiff.

It was well past midnight. The surveillance gear hummed quietly, casting a soft blue glow through the living room. The suspect hadn’t moved in hours, but neither of you wanted to be the first to call it a night. You lounged on the couch, wrapped in a blanket, wearing one of his oversized shirts because your laundry hadn’t finished drying. Leon sat beside you, sipping a beer, his attention not on the screen—but on you.

“I keep forgetting this isn’t real,” he said, his voice low.

You looked up. “What isn’t?”

“This. Us.”

The air shifted. Your heart skipped. “Right,” you said, barely above a whisper. “Just a mission.”

But when your eyes met, his expression said more than words ever could. He leaned in, breath ghosting between you— Then ding. The laptop chimed. New intel from HQ. You both jerked back like you’d been caught sneaking out after curfew. The moment shattered. Professionalism snapped into place, but the tension lingered like a second presence in the room.

Days turned into weeks. The mission extended unexpectedly. You settled into a rhythm, not just as agents—but as something dangerously close to a real couple. Movie nights on the couch. Music in the kitchen while cooking. Shared glances that lasted a second too long. Inside jokes. He remembered your fake anniversary and brought home a cupcake, singing off-key just to make you laugh.

The lines blurred. The mission was almost over. The final report was written. But what about everything that wasn’t in the report? The way he made your bed when you forgot. The warmth in his voice when he said your name. The way your heart raced when he touched the small of your back at neighborhood barbecues—when no one was watching.

The cover would drop. The house would go back to the agency. The rings would come off. But what about everything else? Would you walk away as agents? Or risk staying behind—as something more?

Your face crumbled; your lips slightly parted, your eyes widened, and heart, admittedly, broken. Still, broken, in fact. Several days later, and you can’t remember where or how the shards fell. What furniture they slipped under, whose feet they accidentally wedged themselves into. 

He was leaving.

And there was absolutely nothing you could do to stop him.

Quirk: Nightmare

How it works:

Warping the vision of the person influenced to view the world around them as their worst fears coming to life. Everything is magnified and adjusted against the person influenced to create terrifying images of their fears on those around them or something happening to them self. Whether it be a terrifying appearance, brutal words, those you love dying, yourself dying, torture to either, a hell-scape, or…spiders (･_･;  etc.

Using their fears and mind/trauma against them. It’s basically a hallucination quirk. Of what terrifies you. Literal nightmare-fuel.

Either paralyses the person underneath the quirk’s effect, or they go into full fight/flight/freeze/faint mode.

It can be used for finding more about yourself and the fears you are unaware and aware of. Experiencing them in order to physically overcome them. Facing your fears, literally.

It can be used for….interrogations and torture as well. 

Quirk Activation Ideas: shock, slAP, 5 finger contact, voice, breath, kiss, eye contact, skin contact, waving your hands in the air like you just don’t care, etc.

How to get out of the influence ideas: shock, slAP, 5 finger contact, key-word, a smile coupled with eye-contact, key-word: “ravioli ravioli in the pocketoli”, etc.

Is probably considered a villainous quirk in bnha society. Because they’re quirkists, the lot of em’.

NCIS - Prompt

I can't do it; I just can't give in to my muse this time. I have toooooooo many WIPS to focus on to start another fic.

The problem with that, semi-inspired by Hawaii 5-O 'Shelburn' arc, my muse keeps floating this idea:

The MCRT arrives to a crime scene where the suspect claims self-defence from Domestic Abuse for killing her latest husband. Given the physical evidence and the neighbors' reports confirming the retired Admiral’s temper and drinking habits, it seems like an open and shut case.

Until Tony who - having been giving court testimony on a cold case he’d recently closed (or performing some other Gibbs' approved task) arrives late and goes practically catatonic on seeing the suspect/victim who’s being treated by the paramedics -- recognizing his previously-believed-dead mom.

'Bonus Elements'

- Sr. knew the truth all along.

- Tony's mum stays consistent with her earlier characterization (spider-monkey drinking, excessive spending, country/ladies club alcoholic, etc).

- Pre-Ziva, no TIVA.

- Tony has halfbrothers/sisters from her previous marriages that he gets to be a big brother to. (Maybe Jason Bull)

Something happens and Danny finds himself in the past. It takes him a while to figure out how to get back and he steps on a lot of butterflies along the way.

When Danny emerges back in his own time, the world is populated with superheroes and supervillains. Apparently there are metas now? And aliens?? And what do you mean no-ones heard of Amity Park or Phantom or Huntress? Where are the Fentons????

How it works:

Forcing a person to mentally retreat into a dream-like state of their greatest desires and wants. They are ultimately trapped in their own world of their greatest wishes.  (Also, they could imagine the world they’re trapping the person in. Creating or adding to the dream. They could go into the mind of the person under the quirk’s influence and talk to them. This probably would come with more training.)

This quirk could help people who are depressed or with severe anxiety or trauma survivors. It can also help if a person is severely wounded, to put them under the dream-state (like anaesthetic) until they can be properly cared for.  It is also great for trapping villains and rendering them completely useless.
