Gary’s Restaurant

On April 16th, 2021, the hubby and I went to Gary's Restaurant in Verona Beach, NY.  We haven't been there in years.  We wanted to go somewhere different.  Although, I forgot to take pictures of our meals, I did get a picture through the  "Picture Window to Oneida Lake". Overall, I would give this restaurant a 4 star rating.  The service was great!  The waitress was wonderful and I like the atmosphere.   We both ordered the Haddock dinner.  The hubby liked his.  I did not like the fish.  It was very bland, no taste.  It was, however, very moist and flakey.  I got a side of mac salad and that was very tasty. The next time we go, I will be ordering something else. Gary's is an American Family Style Restaurant, Bar & Grill.  It is located at 6367 Lakeshore Rd S, Canastota, NY 13032.  They are open year round!

Carmella's Cafe Carmella's is a restaurant we visit often.  We have never had a bad meal or experience.  We had dinner here last night.  Our waitress, Katie, was absolutely wonderful!  She was efficient, friendly and fast! For an appetizer, we had the Bruschetta Pomodoro which was absolutely delicious!  Now, I normally don't like provolone cheese but I couldn't even tell it was provolone!  There were so many flavors, none outdoing the others.  Nice balance!  Made with grilled focaccia, provolone, tomato, garlic, basil and drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette. All of Carmellas pasta dishes are individually cooked Al dente (hard).  You can ask to have it cooked well done, which I did because I don't like al dente. I had the California Pasta which is tomato and fresh basil sauteed in garlic and olive oil over homemade spaghetti with a touch of Romano.   It was soooo good!  Just the right amount of basil and tomatoes which accentuates the  differences between them! My husband ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs which is homemade spaghetti and fresh tomato sauce with hand-rolled, seasoned meatballs.  He loved it! We highly recommend Carmellas!  They also serve steaks, burgers, seafood, chicken and pizza! Carmella's Cafe has proudly made homemade pasta from scratch "the old fashion way" for over 25 years.  Their pasta is made from the finest ingredients and topped only with one of their five slow cooked sauces made from their families recipes.   From Italian classics to American staples to Utica specialties, they've got something for everyone. They've been a New Hartford favorite since 1985.
