Just had a realization while I was meditating. The reason I have so much trouble with mindfulness and staying in the present moment is because for the majority of my life I had to remove myself from the present moment to survive. I had to think about the times in the future when I could be alone and control the sounds I was hearing, or when I was going to be able to be with people I actually cared about, or create some elaborate daydream just to be able to make it through a continued stressful situation. I’m working on it and was wondering why it had been particularly difficult for me the past couple weeks and it’s because my brain is going back into survival mode to protect me over the family visit.

Do I feel better for having made this realization? Not really. But it’s nice to understand the puzzle a little better.

Last set of pics of the Disney World Christmas trip. Since no one else was BRAVE enough to go with me, I went on the Mission: Space ride by myself, choosing the more intense version. While I didn't throw up, lets just say there is a fine line between bravery and stupidity, and I crossed over it a little. Okay, maybe a lot. (Post 3 of 3)

Today some friends to us and we went out with the boat on an island and grilled some sausages. 🌭 It was cozy, but the weather could have been better. ☀️ But we were still lucky with the weather that it didn't rain. 🌧

Anxiety will really have you feeling like an irredeemable failure for basic things like physics.

My hair is still damp from the shower I took this morning. Which means that I am fogging up the windows in this uber like crazy. This is, objectively, not a big deal and probably happens all the time. My stupid anxiety brain however thinks this is an evil, horrid inconvenience and I should be stoned to death immediately. What the actual fuck.

Dick 9 times out of 10 failing to hide a severe injury from the rest of the batfam because without fail when he’s tired or drugged or generally not firing on all cylinders his native accent comes out as thick as the day he met Bruce.
