I am honestly so disappointed that we can't romance X6-88, and before you go "he's a courser and he is loyal to the institute and he has no emotions blah blah blah" LISTEN!

Paladin Danse is basically the same as X6, when you think about it. Both are blindly committed to their duties and responsibilities, and unwavering in their loyalty to the Brotherhood/Institute, respectively.

When Danse learns that he is a synth it obviously crushes him, and destroys his entire concept of reality. Yet you can teach him that he is an independent and sentient being, deserving of love.

Now, X6 already knows he’s a synth, and so he believes he’s nothing more than a machine, because that’s what the Institute has told him.

But we already know X6 has emotions! He has independent thoughts/quirks. And just because he is a Courser, that doesn't make it any different. You think he was programmed with a fear of heights? Does that seem tactical? Of course not! This, and his deadpan humour, are some obvious signs of individuality.

Thus, if we can convince Danse that synths are beings capable of emotion and love, we should be able to convince X6 as well.

A side note - the game is really lacking in black love interests, and POC companions in general. There’s literally one black man you can romance, Preston, and in my humble opinion he’s lame af. X6 is cool, funny, suave, and he would have been a great addition to the roster. We also could use more female LIs buuut that’s a rant for a different day. 💀

8th annual nick valentine post! fallout 4 npcs Love sitting. they'll see a chair and ask "is anyone gonna sit here" and not wait for an answer. its like nick is on a personal quest to sit in every chair in the commonwealth. if he sees a chair its on sight

Noticed when you first talk to hancock in the statehouse and asking about him, goodneighbor, the institute etc he constsntly directs the conversation back to you. Even saying "enough about me, what about your needs?"

Makes me wonder 2 things:

Either anytime someone visits him, its a need, hes the mayor, and clearly is trying to help his people best he could, whether its food, caps, chems, you name it. So he assumes if youre there visiting him, you just need something from him. Nevermind how youre trying to know him better, or get some information or just talk to him.

OR

Hes absolutely enamored by you and looking for any way to help you out, wants to learn more, figure you out, etc etc.

I could see both working in this case too?

Also, this probably just a gameplay tactic to redirect the conversation since most npcs will do that but i like to pretend things sre purposeful 😤

we should make up a term for when a widely loved game gets a "spiritual successor" title announced and its advertised to be made by "the original creators" but its just like, two of the directors and none of the 50+ original staff of artists, programmers, animators, writers, sound design engineers, composers, etc.

I was gonna give her a long speech about how amazing and lovable Nick Valentine is, but before I could she just went right back to roasting him. (Affectionately though, she does like him. Just thinks he’s kinda ugly)

This makes me think a little about his faith: whether or not it's his own developed faith — what god or gods he might believe in — or simply a faith derived from his pre-war, human counterpart. It might explain his tendency towards goodness, too.

I myself am an atheist, but I find this to be really, really sweet. 🥺 I'd love to hear what anyone else has to say about this subject, regarding Nick and faith.
