Why wouldn't Luigi escape with Mario in your AU where he's raised in the Darklands?

Couple of reasons.

He's lived there ever since he was a newborn, so it is the only home he's ever known, and as far as homes go he has been kept clean, fed, educated, and entertained since day one.

Bowser's troops have a lot of tight comradery between them, Luigi included.

Luigi has a decent relationship with Bowser and a good thing going as his right hand man.

If he did leave... abandoning his entire life and social circle in the process... who would embrace him other than his brother? Even if Princess Peach allowed him into the kingdom he can't imagine that the Toads would ever want any involvement with him.

A part of him knows that turning his back on The Dark Lands would require reexamining his entire life, and the idea unsettles him.

Fallen Star Au design for Astron!! ^^

So the whole story is that Astron died to Nox because they had blocked Nox from.hitting Lux, and they had gotten sent to the void of stars, now before all of this Astron was a child of the stars meaning the parents were dead or they didn't have any, one day when Astron was 14 they had fallen from the void and onto Rat's house and the two slowly made a bind together, timeskip to now Astron had gotten sent to the void of stars they started to walk around what felt like 10 minutes was 10 months in the real world, Lux and Rat though Astron was dead for good, so Rat looked through all his book of death in his library and found a book called "the revival book" and had used it to revive Astron outside behide his base infront of the Folly tree, Lux left to get Folly and try to stop Rat but it was to late Rat had made a portal and grabbed Astrons hand pulling them out reviving them, Folly was of course mad at her little brother for doing this and explained no demi-god or mortal should mess with the dead and now along with the curse of MouthPiece, Rat had the curse of the gods, he asked her what was the way to remove the curse and the only way was to kill astron, ray of course didn't kill them and kept them around, but day after day black goo slowly infected Astron, and the design I made in Gachalife 2 would be day 51 of being back, their white stars slowly became gray and their light purple hair had became black, and goop is slowly infected their leg and hand

Wally (and you- the viewer) are star children. Star children live amongst the stars and learn to create stars. Wally falls from the stars first, and ends up in the small town of Home, where he meets the rest of the characters.

You fall next, about 10 years after Wally falls. Wally has gotten accustomed to the town, but is still trying to figure out how to get back to the stars, the other citizens help him in any way they can.

But now you’re here, another star child, maybe now that he has someone like him around, he can figure out how to get both of you home.

SMALL FACTS:

The orbs of liquid around his waist are star ingredients! With them he can create stars! However he doesn't have much left, so he only makes very small stars.

His tail acts more as a light source rather than a balance aid. Space is pitch black sometimes, especially if you're making new stars in a new area. So the light from the star childrens’s tails acts as a decent light source while in the dark!

So another question about Fallen Star AU: Does Princess Peach ever try to persuade Luigi to betray Bowser and return to the Mushroom Kingdom or is that just Mario? Does Luigi ever try to get Mario to stay? It's hard for me to imagine that Luigi could ever possibly be happy with him and Mario not choosing to be together.

For first few times she got kidnapped, Princess Peach just saw Luigi as "one of Bowser's nicer minions," but didn't make any attempt to persuade him to go turncoat. In fact, since Luigi was charged with guarding her a lot of the time, Peach often tried to trick him into letting her escape by asking him to loosen her ropes because they're "too tight," or requesting a reassuring hug in order to pickpocket a key off of him.

Eventually, Princess Peach realized just how much Luigi meant to Mario and tried to genuinely talk him into coming back to The Mushroom Kingdom as a friend, but by that point she had lost credibility with him. Luigi did try to talk Mario into switching sides once or twice early on, but after Mario and Bowser's rivalry got rolling Luigi knew such a thing would be impossible, even if Mario did change his mind.

It doesn't help that Luigi puts on a very convincing act that he likes working under Bowser and being one of the "bad guys," to the point that he's tricked even himself. Only Mario has seen little tiny glimmers of self-doubt and sadness beneath the plucky obedience and blind support for Bowser's cause.
