The Wild Robot
My Response After Watching it
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Y’all. I believe in humanity again if THAT is what people can create. What a story. WHAT. A. Story.
Please. Please. PLEASE. Take the time to watch it. It is BEYOND worth it.

10/10, would recommend.

Just witnessed the most wholesome interaction at the supermarket:
Teenage boy 1, excited: "Bro! Bro! They've got those pride bags here! Want me to go get one for you?" Teenage boy 2: "Oh thanks dude! But we shouldn't be using plastic bags, tho." Teenage boy 1: "Oh shit yeah, I always forget. But it's nice that they've got them, right?" Teenage boy 2, smiling: "Yeah, bro. It is."

Michael Sheen - Master Storyteller
In today's digital world, celebrity interviews are in abundance - especially when you consider newer mediums like podcasts that have skyrocketed in popularity over the past decade. You can find panels from conventions, access talk shows from other countries, read magazine articles from across the pond. There are so many one-dimensional, disconnected, or just plain boring celebrity guests in this oversaturated market. Michael Sheen is NEVER one of those guests.
Storytelling is an underappreciated skill. In this realm, it becomes obvious that Michael has harnessed this skill exceptionally well. As a master storyteller and world-builder, he captivates with the effortless ease of a raconteur, transforming an ordinary interview question into immersive journeys that leave you utterly enraptured.
You can't help but be drawn in by his passion. It's not just in the words he chooses or the exact experience he is relaying, but the ebb and flow of his narrative voice - a voice that exudes warmth and conviction, vulnerability and authenticity, humor and hope.
Like an artist crafting an epic, he makes it so that you feel like an active participant in the tale - present in the narrative being woven - instead of just a listener. Each story feels like a memory being created in the moment with you, rather than just a mere recounting of events.
I absolutely love when he takes a seemingly simplistic interview question that one would assume would result in a stale, depthless answer, and somehow delivers a story so engaging that you are now on an unexpected adventure alongside him. It doesn't matter the topic - he is just that magical and skilled. Michael must be a dream for interviewers. In a lot of ways, the man practically interviews himself. His tangents are so entertaining, refreshing, and enriching - delivering delicious opportunities to dive deeper into his narratives should the interviewer find themselves brave enough.
Outside of his masterful storytelling, Michael truly just seems like a wonderful human to have a conversation with. He is insanely charming, marvelously chaotic, unabashedly honest, perpetually curious, intensely thought-provoking, and deeply caring.
Do yourself a favor and listen to some Michael Sheen content this week. You might laugh until you hurt. You might sob uncontrollably. You might find yourself impassioned over a new topic. You might leave with a fresh perspective. You might find your faith in humanity restored. You will not regret it.
In closing, we all know that age-old ice breaker question - If you could have a dinner party with any 5 famous people (dead or alive), who would they be and why? Well if it isn't obvious yet, one of my answers would unequivocally be Michael Sheen. He'd be riveting in his own right, but can you imagine the stories he'd draw out of the other guests too?
Bonus Content:
For all of those that made it to the end of my TedTalk... enjoy this instant serotonin boost brought to you by Sheenie's Smile!
And yes, at my dinner party I'd 100% tell him "You've had such a profound effect on my life!"

Sometimes I’m like “Wow, people are awful” but today on my flight there was a baby crying and the parents were getting a bit anxious themselves not wanting to make the rest of the passengers uncomfortable with a screaming baby. But random people, clearly parents and grandparents themselves, came up to the couple and took turns entertaining the baby and walking up and down the aisle to distract the baby. And. Anyway. Shit like this fills my heart ❤️

My son can't read yet but he likes to collect Pokemon cards. My husband is very involved in the TCG community, and he commented this to a guy he met in an event. The guy told him he would give to our son some cards for his collection. We thought it would be a little handful of them but

Along with dices, tokens and an official box to carry them.
He has been so generous and kind, I'm truly very grateful and my son is glowing in happiness and excitement!

A TikToker by the name of hustlanani, who identified as a DC college student named Sanai, has raised over $150,000 after helping a homeless man with prostate cancer in a video that's gone viral.
In the video, Sanai said she was vlogging her trip to the grocery store when a homeless man asked if she could buy him tea. She noted that the man didn't ask for money, so she offered for him to join her on her grocery store trip. During their walk, the man revealed that he needed his medication refilled for the pain he was experiencing. The college student took the man to multiple pharmacies to have his prescription filled and made a stop at Starbucks for tea.
When the man told her that he stayed at a church, Sanai decided to check him into a hotel room for a night. The TikTok video of Sanai helping the homeless man, who has been identified as Alonzo, garnered over 12 million views. Social media users praised the college student for how she helped the man. As of Thursday (February 1), Sanai raised over $150,000 that she plans to use to "make sure he has a place to live, new clothes, shoes, a bank account, doctor's appointments, a phone, etc," she wrote on GoFundMe. Sanai said she plans to document the rest of their journey on her TikTok.

Reasons to Stay
The demons were getting pretty dark yesterday.
My head wasn’t really a safe place.
I think heaven knew I needed some help because outta nowhere I remembered that I had a voucher for one free meal at a food truck nearby.
Found the place and stood in line behind a French lady, while we watched a Venezuelan Woman struggle to make her order in English to a college kid running the fan. It was wholesome to watch that despite the language barrier and the somewhat confusing hand gestures as they tried to communicate, the young man was still able to help the lady get her order, and she walked away with a big smile because she got some yummy food. I then watched a gentleman who was running the wood cooked pizza truck talking with the family running the Thai And Boba truck and talking about swapping leftovers once everybody left. I thought it was sweet that despite the differences there at the food trucks, no matter our cultures, languages, or background, none of these things prevented a small group of people to come together because of the enjoyment of food. I got to eat fresh sushi, sit in the cool grass, with a perfect blue sky as my view.
The new Transformers movie is coming out in a couple weeks. Wild Robot too. Those look interesting.
My roommate knew me well enough to give me a hug cuz she knew I was having it rough.
So yeah, it was a good day.
I think I’ll stick around for just a little longer. 🌱🧡

STORY TIME.
I used to work in a cafe by the seaside in a small Cornish town. We mostly had elderly customers having a tea or a coffee almost every day. Talking to us was often their only social interaction of the day. We heard lots of stories. It was great.
One day, I was replenishing the fridge with soft drinks and sandwiches. One of our regulars came towards me and poked me gently on the ribs with his elbow. He was a lovely guy. Super witty. Great sense of humour and very kind. He pointed at something behind me:
“Can you introduce me?” He said, with palpable anticipation. The man was clearly in awe.
I turned around to look and burst out laughing.
It was his wife!! Had been married for over 50 years!! To this day, one of my favourite interactions ever.

Against my better judgement, I joined a 70s KISS page on fb. And it's awesome! It's what a page should be, celebrating the band and sharing love. I've seen one negative comment, and this morning there was a post reminding people that bashing any member is a banable offence.
