【basics】
Name: X’wyhn Lehn; family name Faith Girbois, formerly Faith Sol’une. Epithet: The Dragonsong. Age: 24 Race: Seeker of the Sun Miqo’te. Gender: Female. Sexuality: Asexual, though some of a single-target sexuality once she grows feelings for someone. Nameday: the 7th Sun of the 4th Astral Moon. Guardian Deity: Azeyma the Warden, goddess of the sun and keeper of inquiry. Elemental Crystal: Water, Fire, Lightning, Earth, Ice, Wind. Marital Status: Single. Voice: Aimee Castle.
【appearance】
Hair: Her silver hair is somewhat rebellious, worn in a medium cut with bangs over her face and framing it. She has never particularly cared for keeping it pretty, but it naturally falls somewhat straight even if she hardly combs it. Eyes: As it is said to happen to children born with an exceptional strong Echo, she has odd eyes: her left eye is green, and the right one is light blue. Height & Build: X’wyhn is a rather short woman at 1â€Č52m, lithe but not weak as she is capable of fighting at close range. She is not exactly toned, but her petite build is all muscular fiber. Distinguishing Marks: Ever since she was a child, her biological parents tattooed her a purple line under each of her eyes. Besides that, her face shows the stripes many Miqo’te have. Her quite pale skin is freckled, especially over her cheeks. Common Accessories: X’wyhn does not particularly like jewelry, but there are two special pieces she always wears, though often hidden to everyone: one is the dragon necklace she was given by the elders of her birth Meracydian village when she was deemed to have ancient dragon blood and that is engraved with her birth name and adjusts to the size of her neck since it is believed she must never part with it; the other is a bracelet in the shape of dragon wings that was gifted to her by her deceased lover, Lord Haurchefant Greystone. Besides that, since the fall of Ala Mhigo and reliving the loss of Lord Haurchefant triggered by Fordola rem Lupis’ vision, she began wearing a black blindfold to not see anything else and not forget her lost love as time goes on, relying on aura vision to perceive her surroundings.
【personal】
Profession: Scion of the Seventh Dawn, formerly Warrior of Light and currently Warrior of Darkness. An exceptional white mage, she strives to master every new discipline she finds, though besides her main specialty she excels as a machinist, summoner, dark knight and dragoon. Hobbies: Though she would not tell anyone, she is a quite talented step dancer. She practices in her free time in secret with help of the orchestrion’s music. Languages: Common [fluent], modern Meracydian [scarce], Dragonspeak [medium]. Birthplace: The currently non-existent village of Sol’une, in the northern coast of Meracydia. Current Residence: She has a small chamber in her free company’s headquarters, but when not traveling she usually stays in Fortemps Manor in the Holy See of Ishgard. Religious Beliefs: While X’wyhn does not doubt the existence of the gods, she does not place her faith on them. If anything, she holds a profound respect for the ancient dragons, mostly because of her alleged dragonblood. Fears: She suffers from emetophobia (fear of vomit/vomiting) and fears terribly losing the people she cares for.
【relationship】
Spouse: N/A Children: N/A Parents: X’lehn Tia, biological father, deceased; L’syhale Rhoyn, biological mother, deceased. Both died during the plague that razed the village of Sol’une, in which X’wyhn was the only survivor. Siblings: Emile Girbois, her adoptive little brother. His birth was of high risk for both him and his mother, and he has always been sickly and needs almost constant care. Other Relatives: Antoineaux Girbois, adoptive father; Isteille Serain, adoptive mother. They live in an island south of Old Sharlayan, in a village called Beltira. Antoineaux is a traveling historian and experienced arcanist, and Isteille is an accomplished astrologian. Pets: Not exactly a pet, per se, but Midgardsormr is her steadfast companion in his dragonet form.

【additional info】
Smoking Habit: Never. Drugs: Sometimes drinks ether to compensate for her constant use of aura perception, but only if she feels particularly tired. Alcohol: X’wyhn hates alcohol. If she indulges, it will be because she is in deep despair.
【biography】
Sole Survivor: Born in the small seaside village of Sol’une, in the northern coast of Meracydia, X’wyhn was the only daughter of X’lehn Tia and L’syhale Rhoyn, a young Miqo’te couple from different tribes, yet living in a different continent this difference did not really matter. Sol’une was one of the rural villages of Meracydia that still revered dragons, and its people believed that in ancient times dragons mixed their blood with mortals, and that blood still remains dormant in some families until it awakens within a particular scion of the blessed bloodline. Sensing the extraordinary power that X’wyhn radiated, the elders of Sol’une claimed she was one of the Dragonborn, and consequently crafted for her what they called a Wyrmchain –a necklace in the shape of a dragon meant to control the flow of that powerful magic– that she should never take off, since it would adapt to her growth. The following inscription was engraved inside the Wyrmchain bond in Meracydian script: “X’wyhn Lehn, daughter of X’lehn Tia and L’syhale Rhoyn, of the Blood of the Elder Dragons, born in the village of Sol’une”. The tradition was that whenever a Dragonborn died, his or her Wyrmchain would be kept as a sacred relic in an ancient shrine, and the name and origins of the wearer would be remembered for generations to come, and also to trace the bloodlines of alleged dragon descendants.
X’wyhn lived quietly for two summers with her parents in Sol’une. However, her uneventful life would soon come to a tragic end when a terrible plague fell without warning over the people of the village. Despite the healers’ desperate attempts to stop the illness, soon it would claim the lives of every single one of the villagers. Only one survived: little X’wyhn, protected by the Echo and her Wyrmchain. Yet she would not be completely safe, since everyone else was dead and she was still too young to find help. However, fortune smiled upon her, for a Sharlayan expedition had recently come to Meracydia in search of ruins of the ancient Allagan Empire, and one of these expeditioners, an Elezen arcanist by the name of Antoineaux Girbois, heard from the natives about the plague of Sol’une, and went there hoping to offer some help. He would soon realize he was too late for the villagers, though he found X’wyhn in the arms of her dead father. Antoineaux promply took her with him, and soon developed a fatherly instinct towards the child. He had gotten married a couple of years ago with an Elezen astrologian, Isteille Serain, but despite both of them wanting to have children, Isteille would not get pregnant, and in the end the chirurgeons deemed her barren. This prompted Antoineaux to adopt the Miqo’te child as if she was his own, and took her with him back to an island south of Old Sharlayan, to the town of Beltira, where he lived. Isteille, his wife, shared the same feeling of her husband to adopt the child and raise her as if she were their own. Since the Miqo’te child was too young to speak and form coherent sentences, Antoineaux and Isteille named her “Faith”, what she had given them, and gave her her new father’s surname. So X’wyhn Lehn, unaware of her birth name, became Faith Girbois, and since she was raised in an Elezen family, her mannerisms became much more of an Elezen than a Miqo’te.
Life in Beltira: In the following years, Faith lived rather peacefully in Beltira with her adoptive parents. She was well aware that she was not their blood daughter, mainly because she was a Miqo’te and her parents were Elezen, but she never minded since she did not remember her biological parents and her adoptive ones always treated her as if she were their own. Even so, Faith secretly was curious about her origins and the dragon necklace she wore and that adjusted to her as she grew older. Furthermore, she was the only Miqo’te in the small town in Beltira, mainly inhabited by Elezen and Hyur, and this, coupled with her Elezen-like mannerisms and behavior, prompted other children and people in general to consider her an outsider. Faith spent a lot of her time studying alongside her father, whom she adored, mainly healing and arcanima, and she quickly proved extremely apt for conjury.
At the age of nine summers, Isteille, Faith’s mother, suddenly got pregnant, something they could have never foreseen as she was deemed barren. The truth was that she was not, but she was barely fertile and pregnancy was quite dangerous for her and for the baby as well. Faith had to take on more responsabilities as her mother had to remain in bed, and after a particularly hard labor, Isteille and her newborn son survived, though the chirurgeons warned that the baby’s health was very frail and his survival chances were low. Despite so, Antoineaux and Isteille were determined to protect him, and gave him the name of Emile Girbois. Her little brother’s bad health prompted Faith to fully devote herself to her study of the healing arts to guarantee Emile’s survival. Both siblings deeply loved each other, even if sometimes Faith felt inferior to her brother, since he was her parents’ blood child. Besides, as she became a teenager, those around her age began envying her for her many gifts, and when she was sixteen summers she dared to take off her dragon necklace, and so she learned of her true origins. Faith never shared her doubts with anyone, but this started an identity crisis for her: she felt an outsider in Beltira, but she did not feel Meracydian either.
When Faith was eighteen summers old, her brother Emile became very ill. She barely left his side, constantly trying to heal him, even though Antoineaux and Isteille tried to make her understand that her failures were not her fault. When the chirurgeons deemed futile any further attempt to save Emile’s life, Faith subsconsciously used her very own aether, her life force, to heal her brother. It worked, but she barely survived thanks to the Wyrmchain, which had regulated the aether transfer and prevented her from draining herself completely of life. Both of the Girbois siblings had to spend a long convalescence after that episode, and it was during that when Isteille warned her daughter of the dangers of not using a medium for healing. Faith then resolved to learn formally a healing discipline for Emile, and she thought that, if she learned to control her mysterious gift and freed herself of doubt and insecurity, everyone around her would stop considering her an oddity.
So when Faith became twenty-one and was sure that her brother’s health was not compromised for the time being, she left Beltira with the approval of her parents, bound to the lands of Eorzea to join the Conjurers’ Guild of the city-state of Gridania. During that journey, and as she became an adventurer, she decided to take on a new identity that would represent both her past and her present: she decided to keep her family name and take the name of her birth village as surname, and so she became Faith Sol’une. Her birth name was still a secret hidden inside her Wyrmchain, and she did not intend to reveal it to anyone.
The Warrior of Light: Faith would soon become a renowned adventurer known throughout Eorzea, and when she joined the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and fought the primals threatening the realm and led the battle against the XIVth Legion of the Imperial Army of Garlemald she was formally given the title of Warrior of Light, earning during her journey six Crystals of Light and the blessing of Hydaelyn Herself. In the two years that followed her departure from home, she met the three individuals that would mean the most to her: Alphinaud Leveilleur, grandson of Archon Louisoix Leveilleur; Midgardsormr, the Father of Dragons; and Lord Haurchefant Greystone, Ishgardian commander of Camp Dragonhead.
Her relationship with Midgardsormr began when she climbed the Keeper of the Lake and directly talked to the lingering spirit of the Father of Dragons in the wake of a new episode of the Dragonsong War. Midgardsormr decided to test Faith’s worth as Warrior of Light, and so deprived her of Hydaelyn’s blessing but forged a covenant with her, becoming bound to the white mage. Their interactions at first were rather reluctant, especially on Faith’s side, but over time they came to deeply respect each other. Midgardsormr became a faithful companion to Faith, and a constant bond to her dragon roots who also taught her a lot about dragonkind in Meracydia.
Her relationship with Lord Haurchefant Greystone was, in many ways, what most changed Faith from who she was to who she is now. She met him while searching for Cid nan Garlond’s airship, The Enterprise, in the frozen wastes of Coerthas after the Scions of the Seventh Dawn suffered a surprise attack from the Garlean Empire forces. He almost immediately took an interest on her, and Faith did not know how to reply to his advances and was rather taken aback. Two years after that first encounter, her path saw her returning to Camp Dragonhead to deal with the threat of Lady Iceheart’s heretics and the summoning of Shiva, and weeks later the Scions were falsely accused of murdering the sultana Nanamo Ul Namo in Ul’dah, so Faith and Alphinaud had to flee leaving their comrades behind. Camp Dragonhead was the only place they deemed safe until allowed to enter the Holy See of Ishgard in search of asylum, and so they remained under Lord Haurchefant’s protection for some months. Faith’s resolution to become Eorzea’s champion deeply faltered when betrayed, and this was what made her more receptive to the Ishgardian knight’s sincere interest. During an incident with some heretics in which Faith’s Wyrmchain was stolen, Lord Haurchefant learned of her origins and despite being Ishgardian, he accepted the bond she shared with dragonkind. This and other events ended up with Faith reciprocating his affections, yet she was never sure of their depth and never voiced them aloud even if she expressed it in actions. This relationship was consummated shortly before Faith left Ishgard with Alphinaud and Estinien Wyrmblood in search of Lady Iceheart to stop Nidhogg’s attack on the Holy See. Upon their return, she and Lord Haurchefant felt more reassured in their relationship, but it was tragically cut short weeks later when Faith’s lover was struck down during the battle in the Vault. His loss wounded the Warrior of Light’s heart irreversibly, and her mourning still plagues her a year later, sometimes appearing to become deeper instead of healing. It was only through her bond with Alphinaud that Faith found something to protect, and therefore a reason to live.
This ties in with her relationship with Alphinaud. At first, this relationship was a bit rocky and rather formal, since Alphinaud kind of considered Faith an instrument for Eorzea’s salvation and Faith was well aware of this and obviously she did not like to be regarded as merely a means to an end. This drastically changed after the Bloody Banquet in Ul’dah, when Faith and Alphinaud were the only active Scions to flee. Their bond, coupled with Alphinaud’s realization of his mistakes in the aftermath, became stronger, and during their travels together it blossomed into a deep, sincere friendship. Alphinaud became Faith’s best friend and most trusted confidant, though as she was involved in a romantic relationship with Lord Haurchefant and later too overwhelmed by mourning his death, she did not realize that Alphinaud’s feelings for her steadily became more than mere friendship. During the campaign to retake Doma and Ala Mhigo from the Garlean Empire, Faith’s bond with Alphinaud grew stronger, and despite she still being oblivious, her feelings for him began to change as well. It was after Alphinaud’s departure to Garlemald to investigate Ascian activity and his disappearance when Faith realized his absence was harder to bear than she ever imagined, a realization that only turned deeper when Gaius van Baelsar returned a comatose Alphinaud to Doma, leaving Faith without her only remaining pillar of support and, most importantly, her best friend and possibly something more.
The Warrior of Darkness: After the Call to the First in order to restore Darkness in the shard and becoming the Warrior of Darkness, and amidst all the loss and tragedy, she shed once more her name to forge herself a new identity. As she is now reborn as the Warrior of Darkness, she came to accept as well her power and her origins, and so she embraced her birth name and reborn self: X’wyhn Lehn, the Dragonsong, Warrior of Darkness and of the Blood of the Elder Dragons.

What is your full name?
“Faith Sol’une is the name you’ll have heard. My real name is Faith Girbois. ... And my birth name is X’wyhn Lehn. You won’t call me by that one.”
What do your friends call you?
“Faith.” She slightly frowns after a pause, her tone unchanged. “... There was a time I was called Wyhn as well. But I won’t hear it again. If I do... then it would mean miracles happen.”
What is your favorite animal?
“Dragons, some might say. Those who consider them beasts.” She furrows her brow. “I like lynxes. And snakes as well.”
Where were you born?
“Meracydia, in the now disappeared village of Sol’une. I’m the only survivor of what befell there. I was raised in an island south of Sharlayan by my adoptive parents.”
Do you have children?
"...” Her gaze is unescrutable behind her headband, but her lips tighten. “No. And if I didn’t before, now I will never have.”
Is there a person/people you love?
Even hidden behind the headband, her glare can be felt, as well as her deep sorrow. She scoffs, not deigning to reply.
What is your favorite color?
“Green.”
What is your full occupation?
“Warrior of Light, servant of Hydaelyn, Scion of the Seventh Dawn... That’s all which is expected of me.” Her tone is somewhat sardonic.
Are you good at physical fighting?
“To a degree. I have some training in melee and ranged weapons.”
Which form are you best at?
“At dark knight and dragoon arts. For ranged disciplines, I’m a good machinist.”
What about magic?
“I guess you don’t earn the epithets of Archmage or Grandmaster of Magic if I hadn’t mastered all known branches of magic.”
Which type are you best at?
“I am a white mage. Healing is what I’m supposed to do best... or should be.” Again, her expression is unchanged, but her tone lowers. “Summoning magicks come naturally to me because of my alleged dragonblood.”
Craftsmanship?
“I took the culinarian trade. Not that I’ve worked too much in that.”
Any other skills?
She crosses her arms and stares for a few seconds. “Anything that could help in what truly matters to me.”
Are you an only child?
“I have a younger brother. Adoptive, of course. My parents are Elezen, and so my brother Emile is, too.” She slightly tilts her head. “I am more Elezen than I am Miqo’te. In everything.”
Where do you see yourself in five years?
She scoffs again. “I don’t care about my future. Not anymore.”
Have you ever almost died?
"Yes.” She frowns. “And more than once I have wished I was shorn of Hydaelyn’s blessing to die in peace.”
Do you have a secret, not just a secret, but like a really big secret hardly anyone knows?
She stares. “And you think I would tell you?”
Salty or sweet?
"Whatever.”
Do you like yourself?
She scoffs for a third time. That is her only reply.
Do you believe in the Twelve?
"I was raised in Sharlayan territory, away from Eorzea. I only came to know more about the Twelve after I left home.” She shrugs. “If they exist, I don’t care. There’s only one reason I would pay them attention.”
Are you religious?
"For a time, I prayed.” Her voice lowers. “I prayed for a miracle. It never happened. I have learnt to not place my trust in the gods ever again.”
Do you carry prejudice with you?
"There has been prejudice aimed at me, in many ways. I couldn’t care less about who you are, where are you from, and stupid things like those.”
What do you consider entertainment?
"Anything that in the past could have made me laugh can no longer do so.” She shakes her head. “I don’t care anymore about entertainment.”
Favorite drink?
“... Hot chocolate.” Her reply is short and her voice quivers for a second.
Do you have any family traditions?
"Father and I used to go to the cliffs behind our house and there he would read me stories when I was a child, and when I grew up he would play the guitar and teach me.” For the first time, she seems to relax her stance a bit. “As my brother Emile became older, I would take him to the beach once a week. Whenever we played together, his face lit up and he would forget about his sickness.”
Are you a good person?
“I no longer care about what I am or what people think of me, not anymore.” She frowns and averts her gaze. “All I care about is that when my light and future was taken from me, I could do nothing. There’s only one person I keep going on forward for and I strive actively to protect outside my family, and it’s Alphinaud Leveilleur.”
Thank you for answering my questions.
She nods shortly, and turns her back to leave without saying anything else with the little incarnation of Midgardsormr perched on her shoulder.
