Prompt: Sole - FFXIV Write 2023  Characters: Strix, Talia Content Warning: None

“Mom, is there something wrong with me?” 

Talia had been crossing through the Grove, her hands lifted to tighten her ponytail. She’d woken not long ago and was barely coherent. So she was surprised to find one of their children alone, and.. sulking? Strix was sulking against the base of a tree, pulling apart the sections of an orange. 

Immediately she doubled back, pacing back a couple of steps. It was rare that her children were so uncertain about anything. “Why would you think there’s something wrong with you, Si?” She sank down onto the grass beside her eldest son, and reached to give a gentle pat to his leg. 

“They keep turning me down.” He frowned. “I thought mortals were supposed to be hedonistic and free. But they keep finding reasons to say no.” 

His mouth twisted at the corner, and he stared out at the trees. One of those segments of orange was tossed outward, and he watched one of the little fey creatures dart across the woods, snap it up, and vanish back into the branches.

“Inwa and Kuni both turned me down.” He had made such good offers too! And then there was the weird rabbit who hissed at him because he was up near Uncle Inwa. He knew the mortals would be so strange, but why were they weird like this? “I don’t understand.”

Talia did her best to school her features. Of course it would be Strix who ran into this first. “Well, Starlight, sometimes people say no for different reasons. You know it isn’t a reflection on you when someone else says no, right? Most people say no because of them. Not because of you.” 

Strix sighed and hurled another of those orange segments out into the underbrush. As if the physical effort, small as it was, might provide some small vent for his uncertain frustrations. 

“I guess so.” He still wondered if there was something wrong with him. Something that made him less appealing than his siblings, or just less appealing than other mortals. He sighed finally. “Mortals are weird. I’ll just have to try harder.” 

Talia chuckled at this, and patted his leg once more before she pushed to stand again. “That’s my Starlight. Come on, come help me in the workshop for a bell or two, and you can tell me all about what you’ve tried and why they said no.” Though she had suspicions on both fronts. 

But Strix still fell into step alongside his mother, head down as he finally shoved a piece of that orange in his face. She would have good perspective for him. Knew these particular mortals best. And Mom’s advice had always been pretty good so far.

the first round had gone well. too well, really. but a victory was a victory and arnon knew better than to look a gift horse in the ass or whatever the idiom was. he wasn’t going to complain if it got him through to the next round. he’d watched the other fights with interest from the sidelines, passionately cheering on just about everyone – it was only fair. everyone seemed to be putting their all into things and it was hard not to get swept up in the chaos of it all. soon enough, the time came for the second round of matches to begin and the halfling scampered back to check exactly who he’d be up against. he grinned to himself to see the name of another faerie. whilst he was yet to properly meet bradley, he’d heard enough about him to know that this was going to be interesting. other than the training sessions with his father, arnon was yet to go head-to-head with a full faerie and now certainly seemed as good a time as any to do so.

stretching his arms above his head with a soft groan as he felt his muscles shift and strain, arnon mentally prepared himself and sauntered out into the ring once again, clasping his hands behind his back as he came to a gradual halt, rolling back on his heels as he beamed at bradley, his eyes bright with anticipation. “hope you’re not thinking of holding back on me, harper. better put your all into this. i know i am.” it was only a matter of time before the bell would sound to announce the start of the fight and arnon could feel the rising anticipation permeate the stadium entirely. “if i lose, you owe me a drink or twelve in compensation, yeah?”

Due to his dramatic debut into the world, I can see Feyre and Rhys being a bit cautious with their winged faeby. I can also see Nyx being a little menace who’s always getting up to mischief anyway.

Four colors to choose from, all 700g for pre-preorders. When hatchling skins are officially released they will go up to 750g preorder cost. 3 treasure slots per run at 1:1000. I'm not sure how popular they'll be since I don't see to many Fae babies (Faebies?) around, so whether they're limited or not will depend on demand. Most likely The pink, blue, and green will be 10-prints, then retired. The rainbow version will be unlimited regardless! c: No worries about payment now, since they can't even be submitted yet, but I wanted to give everyone a chance to see them and sign up now for cheaper.

"What the hell are you on about?" Seth asked, even more confused than before as Gwyn rambled on about faerie things. And fiendish things. He shook his head and blinked, wondering if he was not processing anything right or if he was the idiot here. Probably both. "Uh, yeah, though wouldn't say easier to get in. Definitely more painful getting in than out. The reviews on Tripadvisor are correct in naming it the worst vacation spot."

Gwyn thought to take it as a joke at first, already snorting out a laugh until he saw that squinty little expression the other was making and shot Seth a puzzled look in return. "No need to play coy with each other, don't you think?" He cocked a brow at the other man, "Not when you've already owned up to it. Not as if I'll turn you away -- even if the pure fae hold a grudge against your sort, it's just for all the times fiendish folk have made a thrall out of someone's favorite consort," Gwyn tittered at the thought, giving a dismissive wave of his hand, "Hardly a problem in this place." His eyes slid to Seth's then, looking a bit mischievous, "Unless you've been out there stealing the hearts of the claimed, eh?"

The sith was only more intrigued by this bit of information, looking Seth fully over as if there should be hellfire smoldering in the other's hair still. "You've picked the right place to get away from heat, friend.." Gwyn mused interestedly, "Though I wager it's easier to get in then to get out?"

“jury’s still out on that one,” arnon replied breezily, his hands shoved into the pockets of his hoodie as he approached the familiar face, a cocky smirk settling into place as he came to a halt before the faerie. “‘s good to see you again, harper. word around the castle’s been that you got whisked away somewhere fancy by your guard dog. you have a good time?” for once, there was no antagonistic heat to the halfling’s words, merely a sense of earnest curiosity. although their last encounter during the castle’s tournament had concluded with arnon’s ego being more than a little bruised, he’d remained grateful for the experience. it wasn’t often that he was allowed to play with others, let alone another fae. “should’ve made a break for it while he was sunning himself, though. it can’t feel good to be back here.”

His break from the castle with Gareth had been much needed after so long in the same place -- years, in fact. Stir crazy had been an understatement. Their holiday had gone far too quickly and now it was back to somewhat normality. Bradley felt refreshed, but he had no idea how long that would last for considering he was now leaning against a wall and just staring into space while he got lost in his own thoughts. The faerie hadn't really realised he'd been staring at someone until it had been long enough to come across as a bit creepy. "Fuck, sorry, didn't mean to stare-- I swear I'm not some weirdo," he apologised quickly.

Are any members of the polycule married or considering getting married? Were their metamours at the wedding or would they be? Did they participate in the ceremony at all?

This is the 'Fae Trio'. The polycule consists of Talia, Idristan (@roses-and-grimoires) who is seated on the right and Caedh (@thedarknesssings) who is seated on the left. The three of them actually got collectively married in a very private little ceremony that consisted of just them.

The only other individual involved in the polycule is Idristan's other partner, Ghost. Talia and Caedh are friendly with Ghost, but not involved with him in any other fashion. He didn't participate in the ceremony, but he might have been there to support Idris had it been an option at the time.

He and Caedh have a very tense personal history, and so its very up in the air, but Ghost has become a very good uncle to the Trio's collection of faebies.

STREAM SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK OF 12/05/2022

Hello faebies! Here is the schedule for my Twitch streams this week. I’ll be on break from Ozmafia but I'll be picking up Atelier Ryza for this month and restarting the game to hopefully do better! This week we also have an interesting otome game demo called Diffraction! This game is an indie project and seems super cute so please check it out and support it on the kickstarter page!

I also have several collabs this week~

Firstly, on Saturday, December 10th I'll be playing Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes with Rayna from Lacie&Rayna. It'll be a fun and chaotic time!

Next, on Sunday, December 11th I'll be ranking the songs from Ensemble Stars with FreyjaRabbit and MaiAlxx. We'll be speed-running through as many songs as we can at 11am EST (there's an error on the schedule but the real time is 11am EST I promise!).
