Weekend with the Grays: Supper time at Winbourne

Luckily, Nadia was back to normal after taking it easy yesterday. She spent the day mostly napping and chit-chatting with her boyfriend, Jesse. Selina Fawley, on the other hand was a little bit of uncomfortable. During the dinner, she stayed close to Marty, but once the men went on their separate ways, she was left alone with the ladies. And really, she wasn't close to them. Except for Vinnie Wakefield who decided to join the party last minute. Selina felt happy to know that at least one of her close hufflepuff friends made it. So you bet, Selina did follow her around like a lost puppy!

jordan, that's how he knew for sure that the conversation had changed because her playful nickname for him wasn't anywhere to be found. "you tryna' get me to leave or somethin'? - i mean, i don't wanna come between you and whatever plans you clearly have." instead of listening to reason, he walks past her now towards the bedroom where the rest of his things were.

Prompt: Hackneyed - FFXIV Write 2024

Content Warning:

It was no uncommon thing for rumors to fly around the faerie courts. 

It was no uncommon thing for those others among the lords of Sinnan of the Night’s court to criticize the Night’s Consorts out of the audible range of anyone but their own individual supporters.

Twilight had taken to disguising themselves and traveling among them to listen in. Sometimes the critiques were valid and they had no dispute against them; Twilight and the Moon did tend to spend most of their time on a different mortal world. Their pursuits were not the same.

They were both mortal-born and raised, even if Twilight was half-fae before they were gifted their star. Other fae would never dream of such a dereliction of their duty as the lords who sat beside their ruler’s throne. 

Even the youngest three did more work than them. And had they seen Twilight’s hobbies? Metal strewn all across the floor of their audience chamber when the Prince went to call. How very mortal. How dreadful and disgraceful.

When Twilight shifted into view behind them, the minor lords whirled at the shadow that loomed over them, red hair bright as Twilight leaned forward into their field of vision. Both fae paled at the encroachment. 

“Shall I tell Sinnan that you disapprove of the metal I leave everywhere?” Her voice was quiet, soft and lilting in a way that reminded them of the calm before a sudden storm. “I’ve heard less trite insults and arguments on my lack of enthusiasm from lesser lords than you.” 

Her mouth curled up at the corner, and elongated canines gleamed, the duo shifting backwards until wings flattened against the wall. 

“I foster more belief than you know. Just because the number of deals I make is minimal, you’d do better not to doubt me.” She smiled, her mouth curving upwards as she leaned back away again. “Or next time I’ll introduce you both to my gun, and you can explain the absence of bullets in my chamber to Sinnan yourselves.”

Dual figures paled in unison; they had heard that he grew agitated when Twilight threatened to shoot anyone. And neither wanted to deal with that particular explanation. Apologies that were not sincere but were definitely meant to keep distance between them fell from their lips as they fled, just about the time Tisiphon stepped out of the shadows he’d been residing in.

“Do they really think your metal habits are that bad? Haven’t they paid any attention to Uncle Jade?” Talia snorted as she turned to flash a smile to their eldest son who was staring at her perplexed.

“Let them talk. Their insults are as hackneyed as the ones about me being half-elezen tend to be.” A hand pat his shoulder and he smiled briefly under his mother’s praise, and then began to slink away when she caught sight of what was in his hands. His dad’s tomephone with a texting window open.

“I’ll give you a headstart, Si, before I tell Idris.” Dark eyes widened and Si turned to flee off towards where he’d left his siblings, as Talia headed in the other direction. 

For as unimaginative as the insults coming from the others were, at least she had the shenanigans of their children to keep her amused.

trying to make a post with all the sprites added slowed my computer down significantly so lets hope I don't forget to add them before I post...

SO! My good friend @mbcbrdheun1 is DMing a dnd campaign that's live on twitch on thursdays! And I'm in it!! So, naturally, we wanted to do a fun thing and have two sprites per character, so they could "talk" (change from closed to open mouth sprites) when we talk! And thus I volunteered to draw 4 characters (+ one very cool DM) :D

characters are as follows: Aegis the warforged, Jadia the triton, Edgar the dragonborn and Kemi the tabaxi, who is my character! (the cool human is our beloved DM)

I... have so much to gush about Kemi. The others aren't my characters so idk how much gushing I can do about them beyond the fact that I'm apparently great at poses that are very close while being different poses-

also I love kemi I'm gonna draw him with the jacket he got in our last session soon so that's also a thing that's gonna happen! I have various art of him. I also have his entire outfit in my room and I might just go to a con sometime wearing a kemi cosplay. Also his last name his ostrich and he has a sister called Kit/Keet (spelling is superfluous I dont think she knows how to spell her own name-)

"Please, stop!" Jadia's voice had a ragged, pleading edge to it as she tugged against the ropes that bound her. Tied to the saddle of her captors horse, her feeble tugging did nothing slow the train. She stumbled on behind, barely able to keep her feet under her at this point.

The rider finally turned around, casting her a glance.

"We don't stop until the queen gives the word," they said. "Next camp, a few miles out or so."

"I can't keep up," Jadia said, proving the point as she stumbled.

"Walk or get dragged," the rider said. "Queen's orders."

yeah, miles was fine and allat so you should've expected it, but you never expected how irritating it would feel," yeah, i know, i know. i will." you replied back, standing up from your seat as jadia gave you a thumbs up, cheering you on.

"i know! we've got like so much in common, it's crazy." The girl exclaimed, a smile plastered on her face as she got a lil close to miles.

"you literally thought that the person on jakeem's cap was Michael B. Jordan, we have got nothing in common." Miles quickly replied, flinching slightly as he felt your arm wrap around his,"heymiles, who is she?"

"miles, who is she?"

"this here, is my girl, and baby, this here, is Emma." He said, his voice sounding so up-lifting once he introducedyou to her but as soon as he said her name, his voice dropped to a monotone, sounding almost uninterested.

leaning into your ear, whispering,"you think you can deal with her? she been pestering me for a hot minute now." you nodded slightly, smiling as you felt his arm wrap about your waist,"so, uh.. you're taken?" Emma mumbled, clearly embarrassed.

"i've been-" "yes, yes he is." You said, a fake smile plastered onto your lips as you tried not too lash out. Miles stayed quiet, wanting the scene to unravel.

"but it clearly shows how you've been ignoring him speaking to you and telling you he was taken? funny." You mumbled, clearly irritated from this Emma girl.

"Whatever. You aren't all that anyways. I'm sure there's some better guy out there." Emma rolled her eyes, walking to her seat, glaring at you from afar.

Weekend with the Grays: The welcome ball

Selina Fawley was a pure-blooded witch who attended a lot of boring galas. She knew many people in the room due to her family. This time, however, for the first time ever she decided to be selfish and just have fun. She spent the whole event with her soon-to-be husband, Marty. They danced together during the whole night! Selina felt happier than ever (and the prettiest in her blue dress, under her fiancé's loving glares).

With Primrose's fake smiles, Nadia felt nervous. She was determined to make her best friend happy so the first thing she did, was to steal her and bring her to the dance floor. Jesse knew Nadia's plan and he was very understanding! Nadia prepared two dresses for the night. After she finished her dance with Primrose, she changed into a gorgeous white dress. Jesse then gently invited her back into the crowd and they had a great time together.
