I always think about the differences between facts and truth when I think about the arguments surrounding young earth creationism. When we consider what we know, vs what we think we know, vs what we're told - either via sacred text or from other sources.

I think there is a greater messianic message in the myth then there is in any facts we may attribute to the Genesis text.

I was part of a discussion group where the question was asked - "Was Adam real or not?"

My response was that we don't know. Adam means "Man". In the icon of the harrowing of Hell, Man - Adam - is pulled out of Hell bodily. Further, in the services of the Orthodox Church, we are invited to participate in Adam's salvation ourselves. Adam is us, and we are Adam - whether or not "Adam" existed.

I got soundly flogged for my opinion, and I voluntarily left the discussion group soon thereafter.

My post about Anya is making like a little ruckus on Twitter and I think it’s crazy how many people like have a problem with it.

Like you don’t have to agree with how I characterize Anya and her actions but it’s more like, why are you focused on only one aspect of her character? Why are you removing nuance from the situation? I don’t see it as giving Curly the benefit of the doubt when it comes to doing better for Anya, but as exploring his character and hers relationship with a the very little authentic facts we get about them. In truth, there’s a lot more I wish Curly did, even if it wasn’t pragmatic but I realize the issue there.

The first psychological horror game in a while that’s real intricate in its storytelling and makes you need to really need to address the morality of intentions and its already getting torn asunder smh 😔

like why did they change where Vegeta was when Cell announced the cell games in the anime

why did they make this vegeta starting shit with yamcha instead of chillin in the lab with his family? why did they take Bulma out of the lab? Why'd they say she was Out while Dr Brief was repairing 16? Why did they change Bulma working on advanced robotics to running in late with her baby?

it's the same scene except: - Bulma's actively at work being a scientist - Vegeta's not being rude to her (or anyone else!) - Vegeta waits for Trunks instead of leaving the room - Cell interrupted the airwaves, which means Trunks and Vegeta were just hanging out with Bulma and Dr B while they were working

Those are all Great Character Details!! That the anime rails against!!

[just venting a bit into the void you understand you understand 😌] Lately I've been feeling very caught between "I have a lot of thoughts on Sparrow and Normal and all that with the ending and teen talk and feel like I need to get them out and voice them for my own piece of mind and resolution" and "I am lacking the strength and energy to actually sit down and write it all out and kind of really just want to fully move on to other things (AUs, fics, anything else)" but my brain can't seem to commit to either and that's quite frustrating cause it's just left me very restless. *Sigh*. Palestine is under HAMAS rule, meaning, not only are they under the influence of propaganda but any data coming out of Palestine in terms of civilian casualties, unless verified by outside sources, can be fudged. They've done it before. Besides the above article, have some more reading material from previous years. Kinda weird how the media didn't used to hate Israel. Also, proof that Hamas has used civilian shields before.

history of westeros! it was their most recent episode “the dragon’s undoing” which was just kinda tracking every dragon fight in terros’ history that we are aware of, and analyzing why dragons were used.

jsyk it’s Thee most mainstream asoiaf podcast, i think they stay away from having more juicy opinions bc of that fame (altho the older guy Loves to be a contrarian about really random stuff, he’s funny to me). it’s not that they don’t have interesting things to say tho, im terrible with remember the dates and names and they’re great with explaining the entire history of a specific subject in a way that is engaging, but whenever they get into discussing like ~theories~ i noticed they never get WILD about it lol they never get CONTROVERSIAL with it.
