Little was I able to find out about architect Max Christens (1925-2009): he studied at Fachhochschule Stuttgart, in 1955 opened his office in Koblenz and later moved it to Vallendar. In the mid-1980s Christens set up a partnership with Manfred Westenberger and Benedetta Christens-Westenberger. And that’s about it regarding his CV.
Fortunately the architect Max Christens is a bit more visible thanks to the interesting churches he designed throughout the 1950s to 1970s.
A valuable source of information regarding his work is the present self-published work catalogue from 1980 which shows the architect as a decided sculptor of space: often carried out in raw concrete and/or brick his churches, schools and hospitals truly are brutalist gems that sometimes also are adorned with almost flamboyant facade reliefs (maybe done by artists involved?). Thanks to the extensive photographic documentation done shortly after the completion of the buildings these appear in their original, unaltered and unpainted concrete beauty and make the catalogue a trime travel into a time when raw concrete was a sign of modernity rather than a thorn in the public‘s side.

A5/02 Philips – Twen: Realism is the Score
Between 1961 and 1968, the magazine Twen produced a series of LP recordings in collaboration with the Philips record label. During this period, all editions of Twen were accompanied by LPs drawn from the realms of jazz, classical music, radio plays, world music, or pop. For the designs of his record covers, art director Willy Fleckhaus used Concrete Art by Karl Gerstner, Max Bill, and other dedicated graphic designers such as Heinz Edelmann and Günther Kieser. This now-forgotten series, comprising around 70 discs, is a masterful instance of the conjunction of music and graphic design. In collaboration with music archives and private collections, this rare series is reunited in its entirety and documented in this publication.
This volume is part of the Lars Müller A5 series, intended as a growing archive of graphic design. Each volume introduces outstanding personalities and important themes from the history of international graphic design, with numerous illustrations, essays, and interviews. A5 is a cooperation between the labor visuell in the design department at the Fachhochschule Düsseldorf and Lars Müller Publishers.

Sculptor and artist Sir Eduardo Luigi Paolozzi was born in Leith on March 7th 1924, the eldest son of Italian immigrants.
In 1943 he studied at the College of Art in Edinburgh in 1944 at the St Martin’s School of Art and finally at the Slade School of Art in Oxford from 1945 to 1947. There he attends to art from outside Europe, which influenced his early works.
Paolozzi was co-founder of the “Independent Group” in London in 1952/53, which discussed thoughts of including trivial culture and that way gave decisive impulses for the development of Pop-Art which he is widely considered to be one of the pioneers.
The people of Edinburgh will know Paolozzi as a sculptor but he also produced graphic art and pottery, made films and was a successful writer, he taught textile design at the Central School of Art and Design in London from 1949 to 1955 and changed to the St. Martin’s School of Art in 1955. He went to Hamburg for two years to teach at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in 1960 and between 1977 and 1981 he held a chair at the Fachhochschule in Cologne. In 1981 he switched to the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich, where he taught until his retirement in 1994.
Since 1999 the main part of his work and his library as well as a reconstruction of his studio are shown at the Dean Gallery, which belongs to the Scottish National Gallery. Eduardo Paolozzi died in London in April 2005.
Among Paolozzi’s best known works are his works for public places like the design of the tube station Tottenham Court Road in London with coloured mosaics, the realisation of the Rheingarten project in Cologne or the cast iron sculpture ‘Piscator’ for the Euston Square in London.
Eduardo Paolozzi suffered a near fatal stroke in 2001 and spent the last years of his life confined to a wheelchair, he passed away in April 2005 in a hospital in London, he was cremated at West London Crematorium.

Besuch in Aachen vom 5.-8.09.2024
Erinnerungen an meine Studienzeit in Aachen (1986-1992)

Job Opportunities After Ausbildung: A Pathway to Success
In addition to the profession itself, many career options are based on the dual vocational system known as Ausbildung in Germany. With the help of this theoretical and practical teaching approach, you will acquire the holistic skills necessary to be successful in your chosen field. But what happens when you finish your Ausbildung? We'll investigate the fascinating options that are open to you.
Launching Your Professional Path
Entering the workforce after an apprenticeship is the most straightforward course of action. Many employers view you as a capable individual because of your human skills and vocational qualifications. Employers in the engineering, IT, healthcare, and hospitality sectors are always searching for graduates with a broad range of talents. As part of your apprenticeship program, you will have spent time in the workplace gaining practical knowledge and skills that are necessary in the workforce. This will set you apart from the competition.
Additional Vocational Education
After completing occupational training, individuals might pursue specialized courses to advance to a greater level of skill. German students can choose from three programs that are comparable to the bachelor's degree in North America: "Meister," "Techniker," or "Fachwirt." These courses provide you with prospects for career advancement into managerial roles and greater income, in addition to giving you a thorough understanding of practical skills.
Higher Education
Ausbildung graduates may choose to attend a university or Fachhochschule (University of Applied Sciences) to pursue further education. You can pursue a bachelor's or master's degree in Germany thanks to programs designed specifically for Ausbildung completers offered by a large number of higher education institutions. If you want to change occupations or are trying to advance in your current field, this can be especially helpful.
Business Ownership
With the broad skill base that Ausbildung provides, some people could decide to pursue entrepreneurship. By launching your own company or working for yourself, you may take use of your skills and establish a niche for yourself in the market. In order to assist you in starting your business, Germany also offers grants and mentorship programs for aspiring business owners.
Working overseas
The credentials acquired in Ausbildung are regarded and acknowledged worldwide. This makes employment overseas possible, particularly in EU member states or German-speaking nations. You are a desirable prospect for employers abroad because of your professional abilities and German fluency.
Language Proficiency's Role
It is noteworthy that the ability to speak and understand another language is essential to making the most of your career prospects following Ausbildung. Enrolling in the best German language institute In Kochi Kerala may give anybody looking to improve their German language abilities the linguistic groundwork they need to succeed in German-speaking surroundings.
In summary
To sum up, receiving an Ausbildung is just the beginning of a rewarding career path. The skills you've developed will provide you a solid foundation for success no matter how you want to pursue your profession, pursue further education, return to school, launch your own company, or explore opportunities abroad. Furthermore, if you're looking to get better at German, the best German language institute In Kochi is prepared to help you with your language-learning endeavors.
Remember that your post-ausbildung career should align with your goals and passions. If someone is committed and given the right guidance, the chances are virtually limitless. Die Aufgabe: Entwerfe eine Garderobe.
Massiv, Holz, Versandfähig, unsichtbare Verbindungen
Umsetzung:
