Okay here is the final list of all the books I’ve finished this year! (since it doesn’t look like I’m going to get anything finished or even started this week.)

I tend to not finish things if I’m not enjoying them (two exceptions on this list because sometimes I am spiteful), so I liked all of these—but the ones in bold are those I particularly loved (I only bolded one per series or it would just be a wall of The Murderbot Diaries lol).

I’m very happy with my year in reading. I hit my new year’s goal of 52 books finished. And I read a lot of things that I really fucking loved. Lots of robots. LOTS of scifi/fantasy sapphics which I am SO happy about. Some good horror, some good fucky “romances”. A lot of things written in response to the Trump era or written during 2020 lockdown.

I also enjoyed partaking in online book fandom for the first time in possibly ever! Especially Murderbot fandom, which is very active and creative and lovely.

(If you followed me for my bookblogging, thank you for enduring my Thai BL vroom vroom omegaverse brainrot. It will not be stopping anytime soon.)

For 2024, I am going to keep my goal at 52 books and save any extra time I have for rereading old things.

                                     ◜parar naquela pousada pra descansarem e aang ficar sóbrio antes de dirigir de volta para a cidade tinha sido uma boa ideia. infelizmente, o outro esquecera de avisar que eventualmente seus pesadelos o acordavam durante a noite em desespero e que poderia interromper o sono do amigo também. ainda tinha a respiração acelerada e o coração palpitando, odiava acordar alguém em suas crises e se desculparia com fabian direito depois, mas no momento só aproveitou da presença alheia para acalmar a pulsação. encostou o rosto no ombro do menor; era um cara carinhoso e não tinha vergonha de se aproximar dos amigos, não ia pensar muito em estar invadindo o espaço do moreno ou não, então só se acomodou ali, fechando os olhos e segurando a primeira coisa que alcançou. apertou o tecido da camisa dele para segura-lo ali com ele, era muito difícil de voltar a dormir depois de qualquer pesadelo como aquele. em casa, levantaria e não dormiria o resto da noite, mas precisava melhorar pra depois levar os dois em segurança pra casa, embora a bebida intensificasse o sentimento no momento. "obrigado." disse baixo, sem olha-lo, até porque a escuridão do quarto não permitia. "desculpa te acordar assim, mas obrigado pela... segurança."

Concluye el box de Juegos Estatales Conade 2023

Concluyó el boxeo de Juegos Estatales Conade 2023, por tercer día consecutivo los peleadores se dieron cita en el Gimnasio Municipal Neri Santos en Ciudad Juárez dónde finalmente se decidió quien se llevaría el oro a casa.

Poco después de medio día comenzaron los casi 30 combates, todos finales, de las categorías infantil y juvenil en ambas ramas.

Destacó el combate del mundialista y originario de Juárez, Andrey Bonilla, quien recibió en casa al representante de la UACH Diego Olivas, en los 54 kilogramos. Después de un round el juez decidió suspender la pelea y declaró al juarense ganador. En un acto de deportivismo Andrey levantó la mano de su rival, quien con brazos en alto y una sonrisa en la cara descendió del ring.

Emilio Roa, capitalino actual campeón nacional en los 92 kilos se vio contundente al dejar en la lona a Omar Castro de Aldama. En el segundo asalto, Roa conectó un golpe que dejó fuera de combate a su contrincante quien, luego de retomar el aire y ponerse de pie un minuto más tarde le reconoció al vencedor su domino en un gesto de agradecimiento antes de bajar del ring.

Fabián Moreno, indígena nonuya, “gente de achiote”. Es conocedor tradicional, artista y líder de la comunidad de la comunidad Peña Roja, resguardo Villazul, Araracuara. Ha sido becario del programa local de Tropenbos Colombia y actualamente trabaja en los procesos de política pública para comunidades indígenas desde la Organización de los pueblos indígenas de la Amazonía Colombiana ( OPIAC).

Stray AU | Fabian Madrigal

Fabian Madrigal is the two week old son of Dolores Madrigal and Diego Moreno, and the youngest brother of 5-year-old Felicity. 

He was born via a C-section, though it was funny and adorable that he pouted a few seconds out of the womb before wailing his complaints to the nurses and his parents. Dolores recovered easily with the help of Watcher Julieta’s healing and bed-rest. 

He was called Fabian after great-uncle, Diego’s Tio, Fabian who Diego saw as a great man with a loving spirit... However Felicity remembers her father’s description of Tio Fabian as a man who once ate a tide-pod as a child.

Unlike his older sister who looked remarkably like their mother, Fabian’s looks was inherited straight from his Maternal Abuela, Much like how Isabela looked like Alma. But, unlike Pepa, Fabian’s eye don’t match, both a green eye with a few flecks of brown in his left eye and his right eye if half-green and brown. 

Segmental Heterochromia in both eyes: meaning two colours present in each of his irises: a trait inherited from his paternal line, but hadn’t resurfaced for two generations; Diego’s Abuela had a brown eye and a blue eye.

Despite being a baby, he favours his mother and sleeps easily to his Sister’s humming, though the latter in most part to her vocal gift. He doesn’t like to be put down and would cry for hours until held. He can only tolerate being put down when in his crib for the night but even then he’s clingy. A pacifier as been a wonder for both his parents to keep him content. He grew a mass of red curls, but often winds up pulling on it and making himself cry so hats are often used to keep his hands away.

His great uncle, Agustin made him a yellow baby blanket, in part to reference Pepa and her colours but also because Dolores did like yellow; believing that one of her kids should at least have one of their grandparents colour; even if they don’t have hers. Dolores dislikes the colour red after getting mauled by the jaguar; the red reminds her too much of blood.
