I wanna say this real quick. I'm super sick and tired of hearing all those people right now who keep saying "Did Terry know about this?" "Michael and David are so vocal about women rights and stuff so why are they silent; I bet they are complicit" "Ew I always hated Amanda Plamer's fake punk feminism I knew she was a liar. She is also equally guilty".
CAN YOU GUYS STOP! FOR ONE MINUTE!!
Stop making this about other people. Stop diverting the attention from the main criminal. Stop diluting the narrative. The only thing it does is make him seem less bad because suddenly y'all are not focusing on the actual horror of his crimes but instead on whether someone made a twitter statement about him. Why? Does it help assuage your own moral conundrum right now? help justify the fact that you too are probably benefitting from a system that encourages and protects people like NG?
We don't know Terry. he's dead. We cannot possibly know if he knew or not, if he ever said or did something about this. (and btw some close friends are testifying that he had some idea of NG's creepiness and had distanced himself from him but we'll never know for sure).
Michale and David are completely bound by their contracts and probably a lot of NDAs right now. they're probably more horrified than me and you too bcs we never personally knew NG. Imagine being close to someone, liking them as a friend, inviting them into your homes and then realising how fucking terrible that man is.
Stop speculating if they knew or not. Stop saying "DT wanted to have background checks on his co-workers in any project after some co-star turned out to be a domestic abuser so how could he have not known about NG." None of us knew. So many people did not know. He had curated this nice gentlemanly image of himself to such perfection that no one knew and I think we should forgive ourselves and others for not knowing.
As for Amanda.... she is complicit no doubt. But she is not the main bad guy. In the words of terry Pratchett people like her ".... they accept evil not because they say yes, but because they don't say no.” Instead of taking your anger out on her, take it out on the one who totally deserves it. Why are we all, in the 21 century, still behaving like a wild, unruly medieval crowd who just wants to throw tomatoes and eggs at anyone just to vent out our feelings and then go back to working for our fief-masters and cruel kings without question.

Honestly, this makes me feel better about still being deeply attached to Good Omens. I don't care for much of NG's other works, but GO is hard for me to let go of. I've been doing my best to view it as Prachett's work, and hearing that he did the majority of the writing makes me feel comforted.
I cannot bring myself to let it go just yet, but if I find he's still profiting, I'm gonna have to re-evaluate my position.
There was an interesting thread on Bluesky dissecting Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's relationship
TL:DR - It seems like Gaiman has been exaggerating the level of closeness between them for YEARS

Why are you still posting about Good Omens when Neil Gaiman is a sexual predator
My answer’s going to be slightly long, so I just want to preface this with this - Neil Gaiman is an awful, horrible man, and I’m horrified by his actions. I do not support or condone what he’s done, and even before this news broke, I wasn’t a ‘fan’ of Gaiman himself, due to his own works such as Stardust and Coraline directly linking to negative childhood experiences. Please understand that the only time I will ever refer to that man in a post again will be if I tag ‘fuck Neil Gaiman’ because really, fuck him, I get angry even thinking about what he did.
Yes, I do still post about Good Omens, but only because Terry Pratchett was responsible for around 75% of writing the original book, whilst Gaiman was responsible for only 25%, I’m not sure if that’s the exact statistics, but I know that Pratchett did more work for the book than Gaiman, and I like Pratchett because he wrote the book that the first play my childhood drama group did was based on. He’s the only original creator that I still respect.
For more personal reasons - I discovered Good Omens in around 2023, at a time where I was still trying to make friends at school - I met some of my best friends through discovering Good Omens, then I properly discovered Doctor Who through David Tennant, which led me to meet another really close friend and be inspired to write more fanfiction as well as post here on Tumblr. Good Omens has been too important to my life and my development in terms of socialising to just ignore. In fact, for my seventeenth birthday last year, my gifts were mostly Good Omens themed - I received the book, the script book, the tv companion, a pin badge, and stickers from Shein that I refuse to touch because they’re stolen fan art. I’m currently looking at a Good Omens signed poster - another birthday gift - thankfully not bearing the name Gaiman, and this was all before testimonies against him were released, none of us knew.
Also, the people in the Good Omens fandom are so wonderful and talented - the cosplayers, the artists, the fanfic writers, the people who make meta posts theorising about small details, their work is extraordinary and I just want to celebrate them. My Tumblr blog is half my own thoughts, and half me reblogging people who deserve all the praise in the world for their contributions to the internet; this is the show and tell website, and if I love something, I want to reblog it to show the world.
I never meant to hurt or offend anyone, so if there’s anything I can do, like making it clear that I don’t support Neil Gaiman, or putting a trigger warning on any reblogged posts, or even just apologising as profusely as I can, let me know because I’ll do anything to ensure that anyone who comes across my blog is happy (I’ve been a people-pleaser for my whole life, I don’t like upsetting people). I know this has been a bit of a ramble, I just felt that you deserve a proper and honest explanation as an answer to your completely valid question. If you want to unfollow me or block my posts, I’d completely understand, your decision would be completely warranted. Again, I’m sorry for any hurt I’ve caused, and I hope you have a good day/evening.

When in a time like this where people are split, it's best to just his block and move on. That's sensible. This is because people are too stubborn to lose sight of their original views.

A reminder of the allegations against Neil Gaiman, as shared by Hire Survivors Hollywood, a non-profit group who support survivors of sexual assault. These survivors aren’t just “the victims”: they have names and stories, and their voices deserve to be heard.
Scarlett, who worked as a nanny for Gaiman’s children, revealed that he sexually assaulted her in 2022 when she was 22 and he was 61, initiating an ongoing non-consensual sexual relationship.
K, who met Gaiman at a book signing in 2003 when she was 18 and he was in his mid-40s, describes a similar pattern of rape and sexual assault after they began a sexual relationship two years later.
Caroline Wallner, who worked on Gaiman’s property, revealed that he coerced her into sex by threatening her job and housing, and that he used explicit images and sexual demands to exert control over her.
Julia Hobsbawm was forced to fight off an assault by him in her London home in 1986.
Claire, who came forward anonymously in a podcast series, shared that Gaiman assaulted her during a book tour in the US in 2013. Gaiman took her to a room on his tour bus, got on top of her, kissed her, and groped her under her dress. In a 2022 phone call recording, Gaiman can be heard apologizing for his behavior, and offering $60,000 as a “tax-free gift” to cover the cost of a decade of therapy.

It’s been…a year, hasn’t it??
🎵🐦 This rechargeable electronic music box is made from wood, designed and made by me.
🪽I love this story so much, and it’s been an unexpected and essential source of joy, comfort and creativity over a really, really challenging five years. Sometimes it’s the small things that really gets you through the crazy times, and Good Omens has absolutely been a loadbearing pillar. Nothing can take that away 💜
I’m naming this piece “Oodles of Nightingales” because I’m pretty sure I still have psychic damage from that Season 2 finale.

Just a reminder to people outside of the Good Omens fandom that this news came out months ago. You may just be finding out about it now, but we’ve already had in-depth discussions about the morality of engaging with the fandom of a work by a shitbag author who’s built a career off of abusing women. That doesn’t mean we don’t care anymore, it means that any impression you might be getting that fans of Good Omens care more about the show than NG’s victims is inaccurate.
We are not apathetic to the situation, it is incredibly disturbing (even more so now with more information) and we care about it just as much as you do. I’m not going to get into the justifications for still engaging with said fandom because I don’t think that’s what you want to hear, but just know this:
There are SA victims in the fandom who still engage with it whether you approve of that or not. You do not have the right to tell an SA victim the appropriate way to handle SA related news. The fandom has organized to donate to help victims of SA as a direct response to this (see @ourownsidefund).
Be angry at the man who did this, not the millions of people who just want to feel something when they open a book, or turn on the tv, or log on to ao3 and Tumblr.

Posting this to cut through the PR clutter — lest we forget amid the quotes and the fanart, Gaiman is accused of SA
And he’s allegedly circulating private emails between him and survivors to discredit their stories, according to someone who claims to be a second degree connection.
They claim the accused is sharing private emails between him and the survivors to his inner circle, in a bid to discredit the accounts that have surfaced about him. :)
So, presumably he hasn’t gone quiet everywhere, just online. It’s been about 42 days now…
