MASK UP FOR GLOBAL LIBERATION
Protect your community by wearing N95s and KN95s when meeting indoors or in crowds! The more of us mask up, the less we get sick, the harder it is for police to surveil us, and the safer we make our shared spaces for our disabled and immuno-compromised comrades and loved ones.
Get started by finding local mask resources on the global COVID Action Map (you can also submit groups to be added). If you have the means, donate masks and tests to your local orgs and encourage accessibility so we can ALL join the fight (bringing in interpreters/translators and medics, ensuring accessibility for wheelchairs/mobility devices, offering child care, filtering the air indoors, setting up virtual options etc).
UPDATE: Download this 8.5"x11" poster for free on itch.io to print and distribute! Includes files suitable for color, black and white, and risograph printing. Any donations will go to printing costs, or buying masks for my local mutual aid groups.
Pandemics have no borders, and all our struggles are united!
[ID: A poster declaring “MASK UP” in red above 3 figures from the waist up, each wearing a different respirator mask. The top figure is an Arab person wearing a fluttering red and white kufiyah over a black hijab and red dress, as well as an Aura 9210+ N95 mask. They steady themselves with one hand on the lower left figure, and raise the other one up triumphantly. The left person is a fat Asian teenager wearing a black hoodie with a genderqueer symbol on the shoulder, and a black Laianzhi HYX1002 KN100 mask. They are holding a box labeled FREE that’s full of COVID-19 Rapid Tests, and two different kinds of plastic-wrapped N95s. The last figure is a middle aged Black person in a power chair, wearing a Flo Mask with a customised rainbow cover, a dark blue winter hat with a Disability pin on it, and a blue shirt featuring 6 countries flags from R to L: Sudan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Palestine, Haiti, Puerto Rico, and Tigray, Ethiopia. Underneath reads: “RESPIRATOR MASKS PROTECT: your health, your identity, and your community. Find resources near you at COVIDActionMap.org”]

this is your daily reminder that it's been over 65 years since cuba overthrew batista's US-backed fascist dictatorship and the US is STILL keeping cuba in extreme poverty using an "embargo."
back in the 1950s, using US funds and US-trained soldiers, batista (not castro) removed most of cubans' rights, including the right to strike, censored all media, and used secret police to torture and publicly excute anyone who protested his dictatorship. In a document released by the CIA in 2005, it stated as many as 20,000 people were killed. In return, batista gave control of most of the arable land to the US. during the revolution, this land was reclaimed and redistributed, which means that USAmericans can now sue anyone who "traffics" in this "confiscated" property.
Despite US sanctions being an "embargo," the US also fines foreign companies for doing business in Cuba, meaning it's effectively a blockade. Despite Obama lightening some of these restrictions, Biden has done little to undo the tightened policies from Trump's administration.
In November, the UN called for the 31st time (!!!) for the US blockade to end, supported by 187 countries and opposed only by the US and its bestest buddy (I'll let you guess who).
Cuba has been in economic crisis for years. Monthly income in Cuba is $30-60. There is very little food and it is hard to purchase anything like toiletries, clothes, and over-the-counter medicines. Domestic production is down because they don't have the resources to sustain them. The US has been intentionally impoverishing and starving Cuba for decades, and they continue to make it clear that it is not going to stop.
So, yeah. US democracy is a joke, end the US blockade on Cuba, and fuck genocide joe.

please think of puerto rico today. 7 years ago, over 4,600+ lives were lost to Hurricane Maria. after that, we faced nothing but months and even years of hardship. to this day, we have not truly recovered because after that event we face even more hardships on this island that has becomes america’s tropical getaway. they denied us help, help from countries willing to give us a hand because they didn’t care. i ask you to learn about us, see our struggles and hardships. we had hurricane fiona, we had more storms, we had earthquakes, we had covid and so much more. we are so fragile and have gone through so much. for me, it was just some of the most traumatic times of my life and for others i know it was just as bad, if not worse.
i’m lighting a candle tonight in memory of those we lost, and i hope you do too. we are such free spirits yet we have never tasted freedom from the moment we became ‘puerto rico’. que el sol alumbre a mi borinquén, la isla linda mía.
puerto rico and genocide
puerto rico still recovering 7 years later
bad bunny’s “una velita” song honoring the deaths of the hurricane and puerto rico (go listen to it, by the way. i don’t care what you think about him right now.)
help support puerto rico

The international world is watching this bridge collapse, causing the temporary closure of a major American port, and I wonder if they're thinking about how fragile American infrastructure is because of so many decades of relentless, unchecked growth that has come at the cost of the initial safety of and future buttressing of aging infrastructure.
The United States government was created by and for human traffickers and it has operated as one would expect a government created by and for human traffickers to operate. There is little consideration of human cost. There is little consideration of human safety. People who have galvanized the populace of the country to demand things like their own safety and fair treatment are literally murdered by this government.
There was nothing around that very important, very high traffic bridge to protect it from collision. If you look at pictures of the collapsed bridge, you'll see electrical poles and towers around it, all of them are surrounded by barriers so that boats can't just careen into them and take them out. There was nothing like that to protect the bridge designed for human beings.
The fragility of this empire is on display, while this empire is supporting a pariah state that is in direct violation of international law.
Wonder what's gonna happen.

I want to SCREAAAAAMMMM
The world is fucking burning
Palestinians are being starved in their fucking tents that they have to live in because their whole neighborhoods have been bombed
Congolese women are being raped for not meeting their quotas
People are pulling each other out of mines that have collapsed
Babies are laying next to their dead mothers
Trump is on the ballot in Colorado
Indigenous women and teens being kidnapped and murdered and no one wants to help
They won’t search the landfills for the remains of dead natives
We’re being fed stories by the same 6 media coroporations and AI generated fucking prompts are taking over all forms of video and picture we can’t even know what is real
The world is fucking burning and the ice is melting and earthquakes and tsunamis are shaking the fucking earth and people’s homes are being flooded and completely destroyed
But no lets just keep pretending like it matters if I pay my fucking taxes

i’ve seen more outrage from people about their celebrities missing from a nomination award list than there has been about women in gaza using tent scraps as pads, palestinians starving and freezing to death, gaza is with no functioning hospitals all have been bombed. the women in sudan being victims of gang rape and sexual violence by RSF, over ten thousand sudanese people have been killed and millions displaced. Over 6 million Congolese people are dead, half of them are under the age of five and every hour 48 women are raped. the US is bombing yemen a country that is under humanitarian blockade and going through famine, ethnic cleansing in Tigray. Uyghurs in china’s concentration camps . there’s just so much injustice, oppression and killings happening in the world towards innocent lives and may they all be free from their oppressors and have their land back!

if you're paying attention to what's happening in the world and feel powerless, please remember that you're not. people have worked together to change their conditions on this earth for millennia, and despite increased surveillance and suppression, they will continue doing so until the very end. love ya.

Puerto Rico yet again treated as America’s Little Pet. They truly view us as, and I quote, “A floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean” and that we “love making babies and come inside like they did to the country”.
It’s comedic almost, the idea that we’re forced under the colonization and the gentrification from America’s control of us and lack of involvement becoming suddenly an inconvenience. An entire century of using us, stealing our culture, experimenting on our women, bombing us through history, benefiting from us and exploiting us. They love our land but hate our people, they want the luxury but hate everything else. They control what comes in here, what we receive and how our systems function. (The faulty systems we have, like our entire islands energy system being unreliable.)
Statehood is pushed upon us by ones who exploit us and work along with Trump, this colonial status and constant racism and neglect of our existence. Puerto Rico is forgotten in conversations, in history and reduced to ‘an island of garbage’.
We’re an island of beauty that has endured hardship after hardship, Hurricane Maria being one example. Kamala is riding off the high of this instance of racism of many we’ve had already too, so I suppose all we get to do here is watch Americans decide our fate as many other countries have been forced to. Cause, y’know, our voices don’t matter in America given we cannot vote in the US Elections despite being part of the country. We fight, protest and work to be heard and our voices can’t even reach where they should.
Please, think of us and the many countries of the world affected by the mere decisions and entitlement of just yours.
ESTAMOS JODIOS PUÑETA!!!

I kept thinking about that one "Port O' Rico" post while making this.
I'm sorry. Happy Birthday Sleepy boy. Links and story under Read More
Today's birthday boy was slightly difficult to work with, not because he was rude or anything, but mostly because he fell asleep at least 3 times before we managed to take his picture. We had to call Lilia and Sebek to help us keep him awake for long enough, but we ended up giving him some of Deira's strongest coffee she keeps in reserve and it worked wonders! We told him to keep a few bags of the thing as a gift. You can get his outfit here for a good nights rest:
El Nido Puerto Rico Featuring the following brands: Original Puertorro // Droogs // Pícalo Donate to the following charities: PRxPR ° Direct Relief: Puerto Rico ° Friends of Puerto Rico
More information about Puerto Rico We would also like to show support to the following countries: Congo, Palestine, Hawaii, Sudan, West Papua, Yemen, Haiti, Armenia, Lebanon, Tigray and Uyghur.
If you know about any store from any of these countries or whose proceeds go to support them, please let us know so we can promote them!
Also posted on Boxitty's instagram, Reblogs are much appreciated
