This is a really weird thing I think only i noticed. But in Renée rap's song "all too well" the guy puts on an ffa jacket from hackneyville alabama. Like was he going to a chapter meeting? Was he just using it as a jacket? Why did he choose that jacket to wear? Why did costume have him wear that? I have so many questions

I lack the skill to do it, but I am thinking about Southern Colorado Miku.
Jeans with ripped up cuffs, a H4 tshirt, FFA or Carhart Jacket, DCs, and a simple beanie. She has 3 seperate pocket knives clipped to her belt. A mountain dew in one hand and a Loaf n Jug bag in the other as she skateboards down a fucked up hill with no fear.
She hasn't slept in 27 hours and just got done helping Len catch a goat that made a mad dash out of its pen.

I have a personal hc that, if the iron trio lived in Small Town, USA, they’d all be die-hard FFA kids.
George would show hogs, because his brothers all did and his mum wanted him to. But everyone knows he’s more of a Parli Pro guy anyway. Mrs. Karim finally got tired of him loosening his ties, so she bought him a clip-on.
Lucy would show lambs with Norrie, because it got her out of her mums house and let her spend time with her best friend. She’d do every CDE that was available, just so she could spend a bit more time with her friends. They were almost pets to her, always coming up to nibble on her sketchbook when she hid down in the barn with them.
Lockwood would show steer, because they were always the flashiest come fair time. He didn’t need it, but winning Grand Champion got him the most money, too. Corduroy wasn’t really his style, but at least he got to wear a tie.
During fair, Lucy and Norrie would spend hours in the barn, creeping through the storage rafters to spy on the tall, posh boy with the sleek black steer. He was clearly far too put together for showing animals: he would come into the barn with that gleaming smile and not a speck of dirt on his black trousers. They’d giggle and wonder if he actually raised the cow, or if he’d just paid someone else to do it. They never noticed that he’d seen them in the rafters each day.
One morning before showing, Lucy and Lockwood meet at the wash, hoping to get there before everyone else to primp up their animals. Lockwood insists Lucy go first, and things only spark from there.
He finds her in the barn one night after they close to the public, alone in the chaos of bleating lambs and asks her to the arcade. He wins a stuffed giraffe and gives it to her. She sleeps with it every night.
The day of show, after buyers have auctioned and animals are herded back to their pens to be collected, he seeks Lucy out once more. She’s curled up in the pen, holding her lamb for dear life, silent tears streaming down her face. He tries to comfort her, but her lamb, named Skull due to the color of the wool on his muzzle, nearly bites his hand off
Fair comes and goes, and Lucy has somehow landed herself as a finalist in the state competition for Creed a few months later. Every time she puts on that jacket, she thinks of the posh boy who helped her grieve her friend.
As she lines up behind others, awaiting her turn to speak in front of an audience of hundreds, a tall, posh boy turns around, locking eyes with her as his smile gleams in the dim light.

this jacket off's wearing clearly references vintage clothing & is not actually a vintage item itself. but it's still breaking my brain a little because vintage jackets just like this—i think they were personalized 4H jackets?—were a staple garment for "alternative" girls at my high school in san antonio. and they were still ubiquitous at austin thrift stores for at least 10 years after that.
ah now i remember—they weren't 4H jackets, they were FFA (future farmers of america). apparently these days actual vintage ones go for $150–200.

firstly, smooches for you because I truly have the prettiest moots 😘
secondly, I was very much an yee-haw/ag/ffa kid in high school so I was in love with the idea of having a bf to steal a carhartt from (it never happened though, but I digress). it has me thinking though of stealing rhett's (or even dilf!rhett’s) carhartt when the first chill of fall hits and he’s out working on the ranch, only for him to come back in the house with the first fire of the season going in the fireplace, dinner in the oven, & you wearing nothing but his most well-loved carhartt jacket. and he’s like “well, well, well. now what do we have here darlin’” “i don’t know what you mean rhett, i just got cold and grabbed the first jacket I found” 😏
Tumblr media
AHHHHH SCREAMING MY HEAD OFF
bc you knowwww this man loves seeing you in his clothes. flannels, pajama pants, his hat, literally anything of his. it turns him on so much.
so when he comes in and sees you’re wearing his beloved carhartt jacket, a tingle runs down his spine. and oh boy, if you’re not wearing anything underneath? good luck my friend because he’s more than likely bending you over the counter and fucking you right there. with the jacket still on!!

i told my mom that i put my other name on my ffa jacket and then she told me i can’t do that until i’m 18. i told her it’s not like i’m changing it legally. after that she sort of stayed quiet.
she grew so much over the years and i know she does try with everything but the thing is, she doesn’t try her best, she doesn’t try hard enough. at least not in my eyes. not anymore.
it’s the little things that count. i’m still she or her and daughter and sister and niece to everyone. i communicate and still… nothing. it’s tiring and sad but honestly, i’m happy that my name is on my jacket. that’s another step to my future that i want.🏳️‍⚧️
