Fluent Freshman - Part 32

He had the first week back from Thanksgiving break off from both classes and practice.

The week off of classes leaves FF feeling like getting stabbed has been a net positive experience for him.

First he feels like it really cemented the apparent friendship he had with at least Andrew and Neil. Second, he technically had a job offer in his Freshman year. Third, and most important, his language professor who had wanted him to come and speak to his gen-ed Latin class of over 100 students told him not to worry about it and that he had gotten one of FF’s friends to agree to the presentation instead.

His relief was so immediate and all-consuming that he hadn’t even had the energy to pretend he was upset that he had been replaced. Thankfully his teacher just chalked it up to relief that he wouldn’t have to stand up and present when his stomach was healing from the surgery.

Coach Wymack and Abby wouldn’t even let him go to the Court. Kevin had tried to argue quite a few times on Sunday when that decision had been made. Argued that he could sit in and watch for strategy purposes if nothing else.

However, even Kevin couldn’t guarantee that FF wouldn’t get accidentally run into / knocked against considering his complete lack of presence.

Matt had rushed into Abby’s house having made a bee-line for it upon reaching the airport.  “Smiths! You got stabbed!” Matt yelled as if informing him of his own predicament.

“Yeah.” FF agreed as if it were something that could have been debated.

“What happened?! Nicky just sent a pic of the flowers he got you and the card?” Matt had asked pulling his backpack off his shoulder and to his front as he unzipped it and rooted around for something before pulling out an orange envelope. “This is from me and Dan, you remember her right?” Matt had asked.

FF thought of quiet conversations he has overheard over the phone and not so quiet noises Matt makes when engaging in some phone sex with his girlfriend.

“Yes, I remember Dan.”  FF had said diplomatically and accepted the card.

The card was sitting on the nightstand at Abby’s house next to the card the Monsters, his grandma, other teammates, and some cards from friends he had made outside of Exy. It feels nice to look at the multiple cards all wishing him well.

His Grandma was going to stay for two weeks and Abby was being incredibly kind to put them up

He spent most of that week sleeping, spending time with his grandma, getting yelled at by Abby for trying to do chores, and spending time with the Foxes that came to visit him.

Nicky had come over to hang out every day without fail. Most of the upperclassmen who were on the original ‘miracle’ team of the Foxes stopped in to see him regularly. Even Jack stopped in to complain about how Captain Neil presented a danger to the rest of them before giving him a Get Well Soon card and leaving.

It was a strangely thoughtful card that he’s near positive Jack’s girlfriend picked out for him. When the end of the week and the first game that FF would need to sit out from approached Coach Wymack asked if he wanted to come.

“You can’t play, but you’re still a Fox.” Wymack had said and his grandma had encouraged him to go and spend time with his friends. She’d hold down the fort for Abby, cook up a bunch of food for the the team to enjoy when they got back late.

So FF climbed onto the bus and sat next to Nicky who had declared himself FF’s bodyguard for the evening who’s safety he would only pass off to Coach Wymack during the game proper.

They’ve come so damn far from the worst team in the Division. His kids are thriving and because of that he’s gotten a larger budget. A larger budget to better help his kids with. David would be lying if he said he didn’t spend some nights wishing he could tell himself of a few years ago just how good it would get.

Still, the match is a lot closer than it should be.

He looks to his side and sees FF sitting there watching the game with rapt attention.

He looks as Sheena fumbles a pass that his newest problem child had mastered the timing of a month before. He sees Kevin’s shoulders go up in anger but Neil’s quick reflexes save it before the play is fully fumbled.

Neil makes a feint to pass to Kevin and the goal lights up putting them in the lead by 2 goals. David thinks of the numerous plays that would have gone smoother with the kid next to him playing instead of Sheena but there was no point in wishing for things that couldn’t be.

FF wouldn’t be playing until the Spring Championships started up and David would need to address FF’s medical hiatus and Lisa’s ‘family emergency’ that had her leaving the team.

It always stung when a Fox left but it hurt less when it was of their own volition instead of in a body bag.

He looks to the side again and thinks of the numerous decisions he had needed to make as Kevin slept in the car on the way to the hospital. Honestly, if he still was thinking about going after the hospital.

How the fuck did the hospital just leave the damn kid in a hallway for over an hour? He hates the thought of FF laying there in pain and bleeding watching as people went by.

He’s grateful that the kid didn’t seem to remember it.

He wasn’t going to mention it to any of the other Foxes, not even FF if he could swing it. He has no doubt that at the very least Andrew and Neil would go on a rampage and he’s near positive that Kevin would take special delight in it considering a week on he was still bitching about what he had seen in the Nutritionist office.

He’s not sure what Nicky would do but he knows it’d give him a headache.

Nicky takes a hard hit that has him subbed out for one of the freshman backliners. Nicky’s a little woozy and Abby confirms a very slight concussion that she’ll keep an eye on during the trip back.

They win by slimmer margins than they should but it’s to be expected.

“Coach Wymack?” FF asks.

“What’s up?” David asks.

“I’m going to go to the bathroom. It...uh...well it takes a while now.” FF says and David can read the embarrassment.

“Meet us at the bus. Be careful.” he orders.

FF nods and heads off.

Neil and Matt are on press duty and David preps the press to let them know about FF and Lisa. There are some questions about what kind of medical hiatus but David declined to answer knowing that Neil and Matt wouldn’t let it slip either.

His last two players get showered and on the bus.

He does a count and gets the correct number and starts the bus.

They’re just about to get on the highway when there’s a shout, “Wait! Where’s Smithy?!” Nicky exclaims full volume over the general conversation that had been going on throughout the bus.

David frowns, he had counted-

Abby. He had counted Abby’s head next to Nicky.

“Oh god dammit.” he says.

FF looked at where the bus should have been waiting for him.

He closes his eyes and hopes that the bus will appear between blinks. 

He opens his eyes again and finds...nope just fans milling about heading to their own cars and home. He gives a hopeful look across the parking lot wondering if the bus maybe just got moved back somewhere so that they could get out easier after he went and made them wait?

A lot of people. Some kids. Some disappointed Belmonte fans. Some excited Fox fans. Some general Exy fanatics who were discussing what the Belmonte team would need to do to stay in  for the Spring Championships.

No Palmetto State Fox team bus.

He swallows a bit of disappointment and moves past it.

He pulled up his phone to plug in Abby’s house and saw that it would be a 4 day hike from Belmonte. He looked down at his shoes contemplating if they’d make the over 300 miles of walking. The doctors and Abby had been very clear not to do too much exercise but surely it wouldn’t count since he was just going to walk? They said walking was fine right?

FF sighed at the thought.

Yeah, it wasn’t going to work.

His stomach hurts at the thought of a 5 hour car ride. Maybe there was a bus station nearby and he could make his way back via greyhound.

He was looking at his phone again when it started to ring and Nicky’s face was on his screen to let him know who the caller was.

He hit the answer button, “Hello-“

There was an inhale and FF had been on the receiving end of this quite a few times at this point so he held his phone the entire length of his arm away from his ear, “SMITHY, ARE YOU ON THE BUS OR DID WE FORGET YOU?!” Nicky screeches and it hurts his ears even from an entire arms length away. He wonders how in the world Nicky can stand being that loud with his minor concussion.

He stares at his phone dubiously for a few moments, worried that Nicky may shout again.

“Smithy?! Smithy?” He hears Nicky’s not quite as loud but very concerned voice. FF decides to bite the bullet.

“Hello Nicky, I am not on the bus.” He says.

“We fucking LEFT SMITHY!” Nicky yells and FF can hear a collective groan from across the line.

He may even hear Coach Wymack yelling something about ‘again’ and feels shame burn in his stomach. He should have just held in his pee. He hadn’t really needed to go that badly and it’s not like Coach Wymack doesn’t take bathroom breaks.

“It’s okay.” He rushes to assure Nicky. “I can…grab a bus or something. You don’t need to come back, I’m-“

“Young man, if you say that you’re fine I can not be held responsible for what I will do when I see you in the next 20 minutes.” Nicky threatens. “I also can’t be held responsible for what I’ll do to Neil since I feel like he’s infected you somehow.” He says.

He hears a distant “Hey” followed by an even more distant “Man, I hate to say it but I think he’s right.”

“I don’t want to bother you.” He says.

“Smithy, you are so far from a bother it is insane. How about I stay on the line with you okay?” Nicky asks but something has caught his eye.

Two kids haven’t moved as the rest of the world continued to. He watched as they clung to one another and no one seemed to take notice of them. He doesn’t understand how anyone could miss them with the bright orange children’s jerseys they had on. One sporting 01 - Josten and the other 10 - Josten on the backs.

“That’s okay Nicky. Call me when you’re close.” He says and makes his way over.

He can see the little boy’s hand holding the little girl’s hand tightly and is careful to walk around them in a way so that he wouldn’t appear out of nowhere. “Hey,” he squatted down to their height and the little boy still jumped slightly, dropping a small book to the ground, and the little girl hid her face in his shoulder. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you. I just noticed you looked a little lost.” He says and his muscles won’t pull in a way to offer a reassuring smile but he hopes he can convey it through his tone.

The little boy visibly swallows down nervous spit, “I’m not supposed to talk to strangers.” He says holding on tighter to the little girl.

“Smart, continue to do that.” He says immediately, “Can you just nod yes or no for me?” He asks instead.

The boy thinks for a long moment before nodding affirmatively.

“Great, good job.” He says, “Did you come to the stadium with your parents?” He asks

A nod in the affirmative.

“Do your parents know where you are?” He asks.

He shakes his head in a negative.

“Are you lost?” He asks.

Another negative.

“So you mean to be right here?”  He wants to clarify.

A nod in the affirmative this time.

FF takes a moment to piece together what he knows and looks down at the book.

An autograph book. “Oh, you wanted to get an autograph from Captain Neil?” he asks.

The little boy looks up but it’s the little girl who answers. She finally takes her face out from his shoulder. FF’s eyes can’t help but see the large burn scar on her cheek but also see how her eyes sparkle with delight, “You know Captain Josten?!” she exclaims in delight.

“Millie!” The young boy says. “He’s a stranger!” he hisses.

“Nu-uh!” she shakes her head, “Number 13!” she points at his jersey he had worn in solidarity. “He passes to Captain Josten!” she says brightly. “See Brandon?” she smiles.

It could just be a fan jersey though FF highly doubts that anyone would buy fan merch for him. He is no Kevin Day, Captain Neil Josten, or Andrew Minyard.

Still the little boy, Brandon, looks at him with wide eyes, “You’re Smith?” he asks.

“Yeah.” FF nods, “Captain Neil is my Captain.” he says.

“I love Captain Josten! I wanna marry him!” Millie says and FF can’t help but wonder if Andrew would squash such adorable competition. “His face is like mine!” she giggles.

“Yeah, your face is as cool as Captain Neil’s is.” FF agrees with completely sincerity.

“We came out here to get Captain Josten’s signature” Brandon says with a pout, “All the adults were in the way and it was...kind of scary.” he admits with a flush.

A thought occurs to him. He doesn’t want to leave these kids and brave the crowds to find someone to announce the lost kids. It would only be about 12 more minutes before the bus comes. Coach Wymack would be able to help and...

“They’re coming to pick me up pretty soon. How about we stay right here and we can get Captain Neil’s autograph together?” he asks.

Both kids light up at the idea. “Really?” they both ask.

“Yeah, I also want Captain Neil’s autograph.” he says because he does. He’s wanted Captain Neil’s autograph for AGES but had been too awkward to ask. Then Greg had come and made it seem like FF would want it just to sell it or something.

Now he has the perfect excuse.

David pulled into the spot he had left almost half an hour ago and barely managed to put the bus into park before most of his more senior players were prying the door open to go look for FF.

Nicky had called but FF hadn’t picked up and it had set his more paranoid players’ teeth on edge.

The only one that stayed on the bus was Nicky since Abby had a firm grip on him.

David sighed and told everyone else to stay put before exiting the bus and began the herculean effort of trying to spot FF in a crowd.

It actually wasn’t too hard as he found his players standing and watching as FF crouched with his back to them as two little kids in orange Fox jerseys were re-enacting something for him.

He’d be tempted to let them keep going if he didn’t remember Abby’s list of specific things FF shouldn’t do with his still healing stomach and squatting like that was definitely on the list.

“Smith.” he says and watches as the Freshman jolts and tips over, thankfully onto his side, from his squatted position.

The kids get nervous when they see him but then their eyes both lock on Neil’s face. For a moment his heart aches for his player, plenty of kids have cried about Neil’s scars but then his eyes land on the little girl’s face more properly and...

Oh...

Those are stars in her eyes. David looks at the two different Josten kids jerseys that the Palmetto store had released.

FF recovers from his tumble admirably, “Coach Wymack,” he says getting up onto his feet. “These two are lost, can you see if there’s a way to contact their parents?” he asks.

David nods and pulls out his phone and steps away slightly.

He watches over the interaction that happens next.

As promised, FF had taken the awkward lead of asking for it and had them form a line. It had been weird but he watched as understanding dawned in Captain Neil’s eyes as he saw the two Josten jerseys. It had felt even less weird to get Captain Neil’s autograph when Matt had jokingly gotten in line behind Brandon because he too wanted Captain Neil’s autograph.

FF felt a little bad that Captain Neil had been so flustered by the requests but at least he finally had the Captain Neil autograph he’d wanted since last March. It also felt nice when Captain Neil had smiled the way he did at Millie when she babbled about how they matched.

Andrew had bumped into him in the way that FF was learning meant that he was pleased with whatever FF had just done. Kevin and Aaron had been the ones to ask if his stitches were okay after his startled tumble.

Millie and Brandon’s parents were incredibly grateful and swore to continue to be lifelong fans of the Foxes. Millie and Brandon themselves had been more excited about their Captain Neil Josten autographs than being reunited with their parents. They had waved goodbye with Millie loudly proclaiming that her and Captain Neil would get married someday.

Climbing onto the bus he was subjected to a check over by Abby when both Kevin and Aaron dragged him to her. Then he was sat down next to Nicky who shoved him into the window seat and cuddled up. “I won’t lose track of you if I’m on you.” was his logic.

The bus ride resumed.

“I didn’t know you liked kids.” Nicky says head on FF’s shoulder. “I’ve watched you go to the other side of the street to avoid middle school kids.” he adds.

FF feels ice in his stomach.

“Middle school kids are mean.” FF says and doesn’t properly answer the question but Nicky is just concussed enough to not call him on it.

I see this episode will be a montage of at least three fight sequences going on at the same time. Oof, I felt ZYZ taking that fireball in the back to protect ZYC right in my gut, how many times will they be each other's shield before one of them shatters?

Speaking of which. Can someone shatter this asshole already???

Come on, ZYC, you know there's no way WX and PSJ could be there for real! All of this is just another illusion feeding off your biggest fear!

How many times did ZYZ let himself bleed on ZYC's blade at this point? I should go back and count. Look at me, I know that no matter how the end might break me, I *will* go back and rewatch the whole thing...

Ngl it's kinda funny how they're having those prolonged and emotional conversations while the villain just stands there, totally hearing every word even though he's way too far for it to be possible (unless he added some hearing related mcguffin to his demonic upgrade), and not really doing anything of substance. Not sure if it's intentional to show how much he believes in his own advantage, or is this a thing in xianxias in general, either way, thanks for the (choked, but still) laugh, now let's see if Qing Geng can help detoxify the poison in ZYC. (Seriously, what's with cdramas and poisons?)

Ah, fuck, I knew that they showed us the red glowing eyes on Fei for a reason. Seriously, I hope WZY *burns*.

OMG the sound of Bai Jiu's bell woke ZYC up enough for him to reach for the antidote!!! Team effort once more! I love how they show us again and again that our gang's strength comes from their love for one another! 😭😭😭 (And fuckkkk, Qing Geng used her inner core for the antidote! The scene in the MV, of these three watching golden dust dissipate in front of their eyes, was of her death... oh man, I know I said I'd prefer everyone to die if it meant no one was left behind to suffer, but it's as if they heard me and went, let's start with the secondary characters who gutted you the most the first time around, shall we? 😭)

Meanwhile, the villain is still alive and well, and LL's taking the brunt of his fire attacks, while being, y'know, a *tree* demon. *Both* ZYZ and ZYC reaching out to steady him!!! What a shot! No matter what happens next, this was *so* satisfying to see. (Also, can I just say how I love LL's hairdo here, and how all the adornments are made of things you can get or make out of various tree parts! A+)

Seriously, the piece of garbage does *not* deserve such a beautiful "true form". Please die already, you've wasted enough of everyone's time. Hopefully knowing where his inner core is will help in achieving just that.

The way I cheered when PSJ finally landed a killing blow on the lackey. And then I promptly choked at the candy bit (flashed way back to The Untamed lol). How dare they make me feel emotional like thissss!

And that's the end of the ep? I feel like the girls got seriously sidelined in this one, but at least we got some badass sequences (PSJ) and some aesthetic slamming against the pillars (sorry, WX). I'm also  afraid that sending Bai Jiu away, even though done for his immediate safety, is gonna backfire horribly... only one way to find out! (Ngl, I'm really scared for what's still to come.)

A small part of the Italian prisoners remained aboard these three German submarines.

This incident was the basis for the issuance on 17 September 1942 of the order Triton Zero (Laconia-Befehl/Order Laconia) to all Kriegsmarine submarine commanders, forbidding any attempts to rescue the crews of sunken ships, that is, to catch the drowning, transfer them to lifeboats, return inverted boats to normal position, provide food and water to victims.

The Deal

You looked up at Tech, startled, and whispered his name in a panic. He gently squeezed your hand that he was still holding with some emphasis and whispered back, "She's with Crosshair, he knows what to do, don't worry." But he worried at least as much as you did. Hunter said somberly to the pirate, "You still haven't said what you want from us". Hondo turned back to him and stated lightly, "Well, you are well aware of the bounty that is on your heads." An icy cold shiver ran down your spine. But Hondo immediately raised his hands in a placating manner as his men drew their weapons because Wrecker was rising up threateningly. "Relax, I don't intend to turn you in, but I want you to do something for me, free of charge of course, my payment is that I don't turn you in. To make sure you really do what I ask you to do, Tech's wife and child will stay with me as long as you do the job". Tech growled and shoved you behind him, "Over my dead body!" "Careful son, that can be arranged" Hondo said with a small, dangerous smile. Tech's gaze wandered to Hunter, looking for help. "We're not going for that," the latter said seriously. Hondo nodded slowly and said, "Okay, we can shoot each other down here and now. You'll probably even win, but you'll definitely lose at least a man or two.... or even a woman before this is over. Or we do what I say and no one has to get hurt." You could see Hunter gritting his teeth, he took a quick glance at you and Tech, and at that moment you knew he was going to go for the deal. Your heart was pounding up to your throat. "No one is dying here," Hunter said, "But we need a guarantee that mother and daughter will remain unharmed and safe until we get back" "Hunter-", Tech begins protesting, but the sergeant interrupts him with a simple hand gesture. "Should either of them be injured or otherwise suffer discomfort, we will hunt you and your people to the ends of the galaxy, that much should be perfectly clear to you, Hondo," Hunter added. Hondo chuckled, "Of course, I can see you are all very protective of this little family. I guarantee they will stay safe and sound, I will personally keep an eye on them."

"Uncle Cross!" Crosshair hummed in reply, "Hmm?" "Look." Amy held a colorful bunch of wildflowers under his nose. "Very nice, you're doing fine, little bean". Amy complained, pouting, "You're not even looking". Crosshair sighed softly, he could see how tense the situation was down in the valley, even if he couldn't hear what was being said. He had seen the men find the playground, and he saw yours and Tech's body language. The Sniper had a feeling things were not good, his trigger finger, carefully, stroked his weapon a little uneasily. "I'm sorry Amy, but I need to focus, this is important, you know that". With a sigh, Amy plopped down on her butt next to him and looked at the flowers she had picked. When Crosshair's com that was on her wristband beeped and Hunter's voice sounded a moment later, she looked from her flowers to the wristband, startled. "Hi Uncle Hunter!" said Amy joyfully excited, "Can we come back to you now?" "Sweetheart, what are you doing with Crosshairs Com? Let me have a word with him" Crosshair frowned critically, lowered the gun, grabbed Amy's arm and released the com. "I'm here. What's going on?" He looked through the scope again as he spoke and saw Hunter standing at the bottom of the Marauder. Crosshair immediately noticed that the pirates had fanned out; he no longer had all of them in his field of fire. He gritted his teeth. "We've come to an agreement, but you'll have to come down here with Amy to do it." Crosshair hesitated before answering, "Are you sure?" "We have no other choice" "I don't like this," the Sniper growled. "None of us like it," Hunter returned dryly. Crosshair waited a moment longer, but the pirates probably already expected to be watched by him, they stayed fanned out.

" Bloody hell," Crosshair growled, "we're coming down. If one of them so much as looks at the girl the wrong way..." "There will be no shooting," Hunter said seriously. "Fine," Crosshair growled, "We're on our way."

Your heart was up to your neck when you saw Crosshair with Amy on his arm appearing among the trees near the Marauder. You wanted to run towards them, but Tech held you back. "Stay calm, no hasty movements, we don't want to make anyone nervous, we'll only endanger Amy by doing so," he said gently but firmly. It was hard for you to hold back, but you knew he was right. Hondo turned to the newcomers when they were within earshot. "Who do we have here? A little offspring clone?" Amy looked at him curiously but critically, then at her uncle. "Who's that?" she asked him quietly. "A pirate," Crosshair growled. "Not just any pirate," Hondo said, "I'm actually quite well known." Amy said, unimpressed, "Well, I don't know you." Hondo laughed, "You're a little too young for that" "I'm almost three" Amy said proudly holding up three of her little fingers. "Three? Pretty smart and talkative for a three-year-old. I guess that comes from your father's side," Hondo said, amused. He stepped closer, and you wanted to step in between again, but again Tech held you back, he knew you would act hastily and rashly if he let go of you now. "What is your name, my little one?" asked Hondo. "Amy," said your daughter softly. "Amy, hmm? That's a nice name." Turning to Crosshair, he said, "Put her down." The Sniper looked at him as if to impale the pirate with his gaze. Before he reacted, he looked questioningly at you and Tech.

Tech sighed softly, then nodded, barely noticeable. You felt that he was just as tense next to you as you were.

Crosshair lowered Amy to her small feet, but she immediately clung uneasily to his leg as Hondo approached. "You don't have to be afraid of me, I'm not going to hurt you, I promise," Hondo said surprisingly gently as he crouched down. "Pretty lady, why don't you join your daughter, I'm sure she won't be so scared," Hondo finally said in your direction. This time you didn't let Tech hold you back, you pried your hand out of his, whereupon he looked at you, startled. Tense, he watched you rush to Amy and Crosshair. You immediately took Amy in your arms and hugged her with relief. Amy immediately held the flowers under your nose, they were already a bit squashed, but the little girl still smiled proudly as she held them out to you. "Thank you my darling, they are beautiful" Hondo suddenly stood very close to you and grinned at both of you. "A beautiful picture" he said, "Mother and daughter. I'm sure we'll get along just fine" He was a strange fellow, but somehow you didn't get the feeling that he had any dishonest ulterior motives, apart from the blackmail.

Hunter explained the deal to Crosshair, who responded by spitting his toothpick into the dirt emphatically, angrily. "And you were okay with that?" he asked both Hunter and Tech, glancing back and forth between the two. "No, I wasn't, I still am not," Tech said tensely, "What if I don't get them back after we did what he wants from us?" "One of us should stay with them," Echo said seriously, frowning critically.

Wrecker, towering over them all, nodded seriously and said, “Let me stay, I'll keep them safe” Hunter sighed, "Depending on the task, we may need the whole team, we don't know what's coming yet" Rex who had been quietly in the background said, "Tech should stay with his family, I can take his place if you are short a man. Most of the things Tech would do, Echo can probably handle as well" Echo raised his scomp link in the air and said, "I may not be as sharp headed as Tech, but I'll get the job done. Rex is right." Hunter looked from one to the other, then over his shoulder to Hondo who was talking to you. "Hondo!" The pirate turned. "We'll do as you ask, but one of us will stay here with the girls." Hondo tilted his head slightly to the side and thought for a moment. "Let me guess, the family man doesn't want to leave his little family behind? Fine by me, but if he doesn't behave then-" Tech interrupted the pirate, "There is no need for threats, I will not do anything that could endanger my wife or daughter" "Very well," Hondo said, "I don't want to be a killjoy. He can stay for all I care, but please don't interrupt me again, I don't like it at all" Tech breathed a sigh of relief and immediately went to your side and hugged you both, gently, relieved. You looked up at him and said softly, "I'm so glad you're staying with us".

BATMM FF AU: "sleepover"

Doing one of those memes with my Flarelyn Family! AU characters which this will be part 1 I guess. (Actually technically 2 because of that one reblog)

I only put the ones who would totally go to an sleepover.

★ Blaze

likes sleepovers and is good at story telling. Most of his stories are kid-friendly and nothing violent but sometimes he likes to tell scary stories to his (adult) friends. He brings is own stuff and doesn't borrow from others.

Also she will be painting her nails because no one will stop them.

★ Crusher

Crusher always has pad, tampon and other period stuff with them just in case anyone including himself is their time of the month. They bring 5 to even 10 books sometimes.

★ Watts

She's the type of truck to tell Filipino scary stories that came from TikTok and not her actual mimic entity experience. And they steal their girlfriend's pillow.

★ Starla

she doesn't wear her hat to sleep. She tells about her animals' lives stories 💀 or alive. It also has extra pillows with it just incase.

★ Pickle

Boy this man is an maniac when it comes to sleepovers as he would throws pillow at Crusher to annoy them really badly lol. Pickle steals others food sometimes. He likes truth or dare game and will force you to do it. If Pickle got everyone's nerves then they tied him in a chair so he wouldn't be annoying anyone (especially Crusher).

★ Fiar

Fiar is usually well behaved but is very energetic to pillow fighting. She sometimes steal ahem borrows her daddy's (Crusher) books from the library room. If in Fuchsia's house/room then Fiar will bring her plushies. (Big to small) Fiar and Fuchsia watch Zip zip and other nostalgic shows in the tv. Also Fiar likes to make pillow fort. She's also the first one to sleep and get pranked by Fuchsia one time.

★ Fuchsia

Fuchsia tells scary stories to Fiar to make her scared which worked and she tells her to bring Crusher's books from the library room.

★ Scarlett

Her, Crusher and Blaze will be wearing facial mask when the kids are having a sleepover (wow double sleepover both for the kids and the adults). She's usually in her period when sleepover happens and would be fall asleep first when watching some movies with them.

★ Kizzie and Veronica

Kizzie is obviously invited to her sister's (Fuchsia) sleepover with Veronica of course though Veronica isn't the type of car to like sleepover. Veronica doesn't like sharing her food to the kids and only shares it with her girlfriend, Kizzie.

★ Onyx and Mia

They're usually with Stripes', Zeg's, and their fish friends especially sleepover but rarely goes to Blaze and the others' sleepover. Mia only has a few plushies she owns. They might match Sleepwears but that usually only does that when they're with Stripes, Zeg and the others, they're in their normal monster machines form when having a sleepover with their fish friends. (Pegwheel is always invited in their sleepovers.)

★ Darington

Just like Pickle but they have their own food with them. They have a glow in the dark star plushie, they'll just squished the plushie and it'll glows. They sometimes prank on the ones who sleep first but they're usually the ones who actually gets to sleep first in the group/gang and ended the one getting pranked by Pickle. Will make you wake up in the very early morning.

And also they bring their laptop with them when having a sleepover but forgets to bring their charger with them.

★ Stripes

He has a ton of food in his fridge if you need some, no need permission if it's only a sleepover. He likes playing Uno cards.

★ Zeg

He likes to make the pillows as his rocks to smash them. Zeg will woke up probably 2:32 in the morning and eats whatever in the fridge and forgets he was the one who ate that food that he's asking on where did it go.

★ Gabby and AJ

The two likes to play with their plushies that they assigned each other to make videos and get views at YouTube. (Blaze was their no. 1 supporter and Crusher still has old hate comments that are pinned by the kids themselves for shame.)

Lisa drinks a LOT of tea. She infuses some of it with magic to help with the curse.

my honest opinion (which no one asked for but i just want to let it out here bcs I can write more and janfan twitter is in shambles) on what happen recently regarding peponi announcement on fancafe -

for international fans who are unaware, JJ posted on fc that after their concert, for the 2nd half of the year, jnb will no longer perform at uni festivals/festivals except for the ones that are announced before this. it also mentions that 'in the future' they will only focus on making music, album, and their solo concert.

where the rage begins -

he posted this 4 days before their concert which everyone was looking forward too.

the vague statement. some of the concerns from fans that I saw regarding this was - why are they no longer performing on festivals when they have been performing for the past 10 years and even released albums in between so why stop now? when will they be back because there was no specific date mentioned? is it a long hiatus?

I believe jnb fans range from young adults (students) to middle-aged adults. so their concern was if they stop performing at festivals, how are these students are going to see them? for students this might be the only way since most uni festivals are free and cheaper. also, festivals are where jnb gets exposed and gain new fans, so why are they deciding to stop performing at festivals?

fans starts expressing their opinions and disappointments (especially on twt), those who voice out their opinion - a fan on IG actually blocked by jnb official account - on fancafe they get kicked out. led to alot of kfans closing their accounts on twitter.

my honest opinion -

I agree, the timing is off. he shouldn't post this 4 days before their 10th anniversary concert. joykiller.

for me, the main problem here for the statement is both sides are in the wrong. poorly written leads to miscommunication and misinterpretations.

my understanding of the statement - the period they are going on a break after the concert to focus on the new album (since there are only 4 months and if they decided to release it this year) make sense that they will be super busy and won't be able to attend festivals and they already performed during peak festivals so by the end of the year I don't think there's much festivals compared to during summer. And 'in the future' I feel like by early next year, they are probably planning for Asia tour(Indonesia promoter/organizer tweeted before about jnb coming) so maybe that's why they won't be able to perform on festivals again since festivals usually begins first half of the year. If this is the case then I guess they should've worded it better in the statement (they probably couldn't be specific since they are still in the planning stage and anything can happen) but if its not, and Asia tour is not happening, then what I don't understand is why even bother telling fans about their future plans when its uncertain. They should have just go on with their day.

fans expressing their anger is valid, especially fans who had shown support by going to see them on festivals before, I understand their disappointment. but since two days ago, there were too many comments that I don't agree and have crossed the line.

exhibit A: This is all because of JH dating, please break up. he actually wanted to rest and get married and don't care about us anymore. using the merch money for his marriage. do you hear yourselves? this is nonsense. seems like you all are just taking this opportunity to vent out and blame him for dating. He is an adult, a 32 year old man, let him be in love ffs. And even if he wants to get married one day, what's the deal? we have nothing to do with whatever he's doing in his personal life. stop being delusional.

exhibit B: they've changed, they are no longer the 'jnb' I used to know. They haven't communicate with fans for a long time. and which part have they changed exactly? they have constantly post on IG story when they practice in the studio. They have constantly post live performance on youtube. didn't they go on live before during their europe trip? didn't they go on youtube live during their 10th anniversary? didn't JH also make a blog for fans to read? and JH also frequently went on live or post his singing sessions on IG. they just got really busy since the festivals started this year and they had to continue preparing for concert straight away while preparing the album. Also vlive is long gone, if you are expecting them to go on live of how they used to do it on vlive, please move on. the medium and access to do that is limited, and nowadays its a paid service(bubble,weverse) so I'm sure fans would be more fumable if jnb ever decides to do that. they can't satisfy everyone here.

there's so much more about the nasty comments but I will just stop here for now. If you crossed the line commenting and attacking on their personal life and brought up nothing that has to do with the real problem then I too would blocked you.

5. I actually don't mind if they want to take a break as long as they want to. we are humans. not robots.

6. Peponi should acknowledge what fans are complaining about, even if you disagree with them. communication goes both ways. fans need to know their boundaries and know how to give constructive criticism and peponi/jnb need to know how to accept them. When they keep their silence and pretend like nothing happens (blocking fans opinion/keeping only the good comments/updating IG story when the other side is in chaos), they are doing more damage to themselves. Hence fans are overthinking, overreacting, jumping into conclusions and decide to leave for good because too many times have this miscommunication happen. I'm sure they meant it in a good way and didn't expect this to happen when they announce the statement but again, the approach and execution is always the problem.

I've been a fan of jnb for 5 years now. when anything happen, I always try my best to stay calm to understand the situation and why they chose to do whatever they did. Because I know they work hard and have always give their best to give back to fans. But I have never felt as devastating as this. not even other issues before because jnb and janfans have always manage to get through whatever comes our way. and to me this is not that serious, not even a big deal at the first place and a bit silly which is why I was shocked seeing the reactions. But I guess this is what we have come to, everyone has their own limits and I respect their decisions, maybe someday I will reach my own too.

I want TBH+C cover tattooed on my arm, I will get it on my 32th birthday in two months. I think it is the best album in the world. And The Ultracheese is the best song in the world. Does wanting to write an original story count? I would really like to write an original story, but I'm stalling. I think part of the problem is that I have ideas but I am afraid that I would not know how to create my ocs, world, and then develop the story and get stuck (and feel like I've failed). I have a hard time with freedom and I don't know where to start and maybe with FF it comes easier because I'm just using characters/worlds that have been made by someone else. But I really want to tell my story as well

I was thinking about something during Tru Piss/Nopes timelines where Dimitri and Rhea could have talked about things, ultimately their issues and found a “kindred soul” in their misery -

But it ended up as Dimitri asking Rhea if people who die always ascend to the Goddess or if they are still walking the earth, full of regrets and hatred, and if there is a way to liberate them from their torment -

and while Dimitri is thinking about his Father, Glenn and the other voices who haunt him - 

Rhea’s thinking about her siblings turned into relics, and if Dimitri knows what his Relic truly is

Rhea says they have to win the war, to prevent anyone else from suffering the same fate, and while Dimitri wonders if she also hears voices because why is she using “anyone else” otherwise, he is too polite to point it out.

I wanted to hijack a friend’s post about this issue but then I forgot and all -

Faerghus has some “reasonable” relationships with its Sreng Neighbour - border issues about land being annexed by some people a very long time ago, raids are launched to recover the lost land, and fortifications are built, etc etc. The two countries have some kind of, let’s say, not super friendly relations, but some people tried to make things better

(then Golden Shower)

Adrestia... annexed Brigid, killed its king, and took its Princess hostage - effectively turning it in a vassal state, the Princess can sometimes return to Brigid, depending on the endings, only if she marries an Adrestian official, otherwise, she becomes Adrestia’s and its current Emperor’s “will”, effectively losing all political future.

Now, both Adrestia and Faerghus (even if the latter sheds some light on those issues) isn’t mainly concerned about border disputes and relationships with a foreign state.

That is reserved for Claude’s stories, and Fodlan’s “mighty” neighbour, Almyra.

All along the Fodlan games, we’re told Claude tries to find a way to make both countries accept each other, mainly fueled by his own history as someone born to Almyrians and Fodlan parents.

Is there a way to stop the “suspicion” Fodlanese people have about Almyrians, and is there a way to make Fodlan accept people who are from other states/countries in the world?

However, each time some light is shed on Almyra, we see a pretty different picture than what happens in Sreng, or even in Brigid.

Claude, through both games, suspects (at first in FE16) that Fodlan’s so called isolationism, and general defiance regarding “foreigners” is the result of the Church of Seiros’s doctrine and tenants.

Effectively pulling an Adrestia, that is using a particular situation to make a general statement - Leicester’s riches exist because several Leicester Houses trade a lot with foreign countries, Edmund won a seat in the Alliance thanks to that trade! Trade routes exist ! - and the particular situation Claude is thinking/talking about is always Almyra.

Now, what do we know about Almyra?

It’s a large nation east of Fodlan, it attempted to invade once, 2/3 of Fodlan sided together to fend them off, and the Church spearheaded the creation of a fortress - the Throat - to defend against future invasions.

Motives for their invasion? For Sreng, we know it is to recover lost land and first and foremost to recover arable land.

In Houses, with Cyril, we learn the Almyrians raid are done for “fun”, without any real motives bar “proving their strength” and ultimately leading to a feast after the battle.

In Nopes, Shahid mounts a giant invading force to... make his father notice him, in a succession crisis.

Sadly, let it be in Nopes or in Houses, Claude doesn’t seem to have anything to say about the raids/invasions.

In his Cyril support, we learn that Almyra has no kind of failsafe for people who have nowhere else to go, or “people without status” in the world, unlike Fodlan who has, well, Rhea.

The political situation in Almyra? We have a king... who has multiple wives (consorts?) and his children are fighting for his throne, and are not above trying to kill each other to get a shot.

The King also seems to be a weak-willed/easy to manipulate person, as shown in Golden Shower, when Nader apparently manages to get him to lend him the Almyrian navy to instigate a conflict in a far away country.

As for Almyra’s, uh, behaviour and relationships with other states...

I’ve laughed about it a lot, but it seems pillaging is not frowned upon, given how, in Nopes, Nader wants to bring “souvenirs” and is lightly chided by Lorenz about a certain “promise” not to pillage the Kingdom...

Combining all of this, and we have Almyra being a country with a “great military might”, who invades for “fun” or to show for X or Y reason that Prince A or Prince B has a very large peepee thus is suited to take the throne (or a lot of muhrit?), and whose most famous general seems to enjoy pillaging. It also doesn’t seem to care for its orphaned children and has a very weak willed king who is abused by anyone/everyone crafty enough.

It’s... kind of depressing.

I know a lot of people really had hopes (lel) for Almyra, given the attention given to details like clothing, or flags, but what the Fodlan games depicted Almyra to be is... Well, I wouldn’t say downright insulting, but we’re back in the Kaga era of “Persia = Verdane = burly axemen who abduct women and have no government” which is very sad on two fronts :

1) I still have faith in IS and KT and put it on ignorance and wanting to paint an “exotic” country, without any, uh, problematic undertones like this fantasy country is heavily inspired by some entities who existed in real life and painting them as happy go lucky barbarians who invade for fun and pillage everything they can isn’t very nice -> Just like the Nabateans issue being sidelined to side with Supreme Leader who spouts at some point very... real life sounding nauseabond rhetoric, the devs didn’t mean to endorse certain real life thoughts and opinions, but damn if it really sucks

2) Claude.

Claude’s entire character is about bringing together people who believe they are different and built borders around themselves.

But Claude never ever engages, or is confronted, to what we see and what we learn of Almyra.

Nopes even jokes about it, since he and Lorenz are gently chiding Nader on his “bringing souvenirs” tendencies.

HCs about Rhea's homonculi?

Oh...

Bael : The first vessel! Rhea has a complicated relationship with Bael, since they were the first and basically the culmination of her despair - find some way to create an artificial body without having to sacrifice anyone. Bael wasn't viable and died after 12 days - Rhea took it very badly and fell in depression for nearly 100 years. Bael wasn't really someone, but they still died, so were they really "alive" even as a host, or not? Disgusted at what she did, she swore to never recreate any vessel.

Agares : Born after the first Faerghian rebellion and Ionius II's words of "minding her own business" since he was tasked with guiding Fodlan, and he would slaughter as many northerners as he wanted. Agares died before uttering a word, his body shattered like sand, and in a night, he disappeared.

Vassago : The first vessel to talk - or to try to. Rhea thought Sothis wasn't able to vocalise, but ultimately, she became unstable and wasn't able to keep a material form after her 30 month of existence.

Samigina : Sam was born as a younger child, Rhea thought Vassago and Agares's bodies failed because they were not strong enough to contain the progenitor God's powers, maybe if their physical body grew - biologically - and became more and more accustomed to Sothis's power, the vessel would work ? Sam lived and grew as a human child for around 8 years, but without any signs of the Progenitor God manifesting - Rhea suspected as much, the vessel didn't like Zanado Fruits.

Samigina fell apart the first time she tried to perform a magic spell (to heal a kitten).

Valefor : Valefor failed to develop any Nabatean traits, or even ability to use magic. Rhea thought she completely failed this time, but the vessel didn't show any signs of deterioration and seemed to be in perfect health, as any human. He preferred to stay inside and play enigmas (Sothis's mischievous nature?) but he too died, not of natural causes though, but when a member of an eastern sect of the Church set the Monastery on Fire.

Rhea was completely devastated.

Amon : Amon grew to be a talented user of magic (on par with Macuil!) even if Rhea insisted on him not using his powers too much. Wanting to know why and what he was, Rhea told him everything when she thought he was "old" enough to handle it.

Amon was found dead the following day, leaving a note to her apologising for being a failure.

Barbatos : Convinced the truth was too much for any vessel to know, Rhea promised to never reveal anything to Barbatos - who managed to nearly reach adulthood! But then for some reason he wanted to become a Knight of Seiros, and while she expressly forbade it, he still did it anyways.

Barbie was super skilled with the axe, and rumor says he never ever used any object, even a mere vulnerary. He died when a certain "wandering" demonic beast popped up near Garreg Mach, while Rhea was in what would become Faerghus meeting Jeralt. Barbie's achievements are still recorded in the Order's history.

Paimon : Paimon often said she'd leave Garreg Mach to travel, and Rhea did not forbid it per se (it might have been the reason why Barbie died, if she never forbade him to fight, he might not have been so intent on joining the Knights) she kept on telling her it would be too dangerous for her health. Paimon thus decided to become a painter, based on the stories merchants would share - Rhea finally relented and allowed her to travel (but not too far, only to Remire!). On her deathbead - at 40 (Rhea thus learnt her vessels's cells declined faster than hers, a nabatean, but also, faster than a human), Paimon made Rhea promise to let the next vessel travel and see the world -

Rhea was shaken, how did she know? Was she truly Sothis? Paimon apologised for not being a good vessel or not even her mother - and died before confessing she saw Rhea as a mother.

Buer : Buer learnt when he was “old” enough what he was, but instead of falling into despair like Amon, he thought he was superior to humans, calling them “inferior beings”. He was sure he was a part of the progenitor God, thus, rightly superior to those “lowlives”.

Rhea felt guilty for fueling his delusions of self-grandeur, but she didn’t want him to break when he’d learn the truth, so made sure to let him know he was special, and very important (to her, but she often omitted the last part).

Buer spearheaded the insurrection of the Southern Church in Adrestia, saying the Emperor has no right to guide humans since he is also one of them - Emperor Friedrich V was furious and wanted his head, especially since Buer taunted him by flaunting his Major Crest of Seiros when the Emperor only had a minor one. Rhea disagreed with his meaningless provocations, but the vessel told her he was special, and those humans were worthless, after all, didn’t they prove it too many time already? However, the vessel went haywire when he used too much of his crest power, and transformed in a mindless demonic (?) beast - Rhea had to put him down, and she still has nightmares about it.

Gusion : Gusion was a silent but thoughtful type of vessel, always trying to give sound advices, from how to feed a cat to building houses with straw when she was playing the Fodlan version of Legos.

Rhea really really really thought Gusion was the one - because the houses resemble the ones in Zanado when the vessel never went there - but when Rhea received Etienne Fraldarius’s relic (Etienne was the first “Holy” Knight, relic wielding knight of the Order), Gusion’s behaviour became erratic and she tried to destroy the relic and the crest stone. What happened happened, Gusion became parasited by the Relic and turned into a Black Beast - Rhea still had nightmares about Buer and her role in his death, so Jeralt had to deal the final blow.

To this day, he still wonders if Rhea hates him for killing that person who became a demonic beast, but to Rhea, it was a sign everything she was doing was worthless, and she needed Sothis’s guidance more than ever.

Sitri was the last homonculi created - she fell in love with Jerry and ultimately they brought Billy.
