Cults Galore

Cults. If the JL had a nickel for every cult dedicated to Marvel they’ve found, they’d have two nickels. Don’t get them wrong, it’s not a lot, but it’s still concerning.

Aquaman, Green Lantern, and Marvel were sent to an alien planet. They needed to establish peaceful contact with the people there. That was the goal. So why? Why in the Gods’ names are the people here all tatted up with lightning bolts suspiciously similar to Marvel’s. Why are they calling Marvel Thavma? And most importantly, why are the three being lead to some type of shrine?

Hal: “Hey uh… I’m sorry to ask, but what does this shrine you told us about have to do with the treaty you need to sign?”

Alien Leader: “They are sacred grounds.”

Hal: “Okay…?”

Alien Leader: *continued to lead them until they came upon a bunch of people petrified into stone. The people were placed in a circle, in the middle was a grand shrine*

Aquaman: “What’s with all the statues?”

Alien Leader: “Statues- ah yes. The statues.” *looks to Marvel* “We’ve all kept them preserved just for you. Just in case that of off chance you decided to grace us with your presence again. And would you look at that? It paid off.”

Marvel: *awkwardly smiles at the Alien leader*

Alien Leader: *looks back ahead*

Marvel: *elbows Aquaman and starts speak in Atlantean* “This guy’s creepy.”

Aquaman: *responds in Atlantean* “I know.”

Hal: “What’d you guys say?”

Marvel: *switches back to English* “We’ll tell you when we get back to the ship.”

*awkward silence of following the Alien Leader*

Aquaman: “So… The statues. You make em or something?”

Arthur: “I don’t get it. How do you just fail to mention that you petrified an entire army?”

Then there was the second cult. This one’s human though, don’t worry. This cult was found by Marvel, Batman and Robin.

Marvel: “I thought you just said this was just a cult. Not a cult for me.” *looking around at the various tapestries with his lightning bolt symbol*

Robin!Damian: “What makes you think it’s for you?”

Marvel: *gestures to the lightning bolt on his chest, then to the other lightning bolts on the decor of the place*

Batman: “They were worshiping someone named Keraunos.”

Robin!Damian: “And unless your name is Keraunos, it’s not for you.”

Marvel: “I’ll have you know it’s actually one of my names.” *walks until he stops in front of a fountain*

Robin: “You can’t be serious. Why would they worship you of all people? There’s hardly anything of value to worship in the first place.” *follows after him and stops near the fountain too*

Marvel: “Should I be offended by that?” *looks down at the water* “Geez, were they drinking electricity charged water? Normal humans cannot do that.”

Batman: *also walks over and kneels down slightly to read a plaque* “This plaque says the water was blessed by you.”

Marvel: “Uuuhhhh… No it isn’t.” *sticks a finger into the water* “This is just normal electricity.”

- His mother is Brazilian and his dad was Colombian. They have been living in the USA since Félix was a young child. He also has a little sister (not so little, she's in college by the time Shattered begins) whom he loves very much and basically raised her, to the point where she sees him as his dad more than their actual dad (whom passed away when she was a toddler)

- Has an excellent relationship with his uncle (and his wife), aunt and cousins. Him and Joy/Sunflower don't meet that often bc she lives a bit far away, but when they do, they share the same braincell

Maggi’s Sufurino

"The Book of St Cyprian" "Jonas Sufurino", attribution.

 The history of fictional magicians is long and tawdry, often evolving out of folktales related to actual historic figures there are those who were created whole cloth for the purpose of selling books.

While we may have record of those occultists like Michael Scot, Johann Faust, and others who were in fact real people, there are some figures who defy historic documentation. St Cyprian himself is supposed to have existed in the 3rd century of the common era, but even the Catholic Church has been hard pressed to provide any hard evidence for a Cyprian of Antioch.

Jonas Sufurino seems to be a character who was created as part of the evolving Cyprian mythologies, possibly by a Spanish publisher, to give a more modern context to a supposedly ancient text.

As the story goes, Sufurino was a German monk at the Abbey of Walkenried near Mount Brocken, a location famous for its legends of witches and devils meeting there each year on Walpurgisnacht. He claims to have gotten Cyprian's book from the Devil himself after conjuring him forth.

The book we have at hand goes even deeper into the abyss of speculative authorship as we are presented with a version of the book that is said to be translated from the German of Sufurino's hand, apparently a copy/translation Sufurino made of the Hebrew original written by St Cyprian, to the Spanish that has been translated by Humberto Maggi.

That no German version of the work ever existed is more than likely, but the path of authorship is convoluted to say the least, although no credit is given for the translator who was supposed to have brought the work from German to Spanish.

Maggi's earlier translation of the "Book of St Cyprian" was drawn from a Mexican edition published in 1920. That earlier volume is a tome of a work that covers the ground of hodgepodge occult sources. Each Cyprianos seems to be tailored to the local reader's interests, culled from a list of sources nearest to hand to each publisher in question.

While Maggi's earlier Cyprian takes most of its content from the "Le Véritable Magie Noire" the Sufurino, an edition published in Spanish in Barcelona, casts an even wider net, taking from the "Grand Grimoire" and the "Black Pullet" as well. Maggi speculates, based on scholarship by Félix Castro Vincente, that the Sufurino was copied in part from earlier Portuguese editions. It does contain a series of charms that involve the torture of animals that is found in the Portuguese Cyprians, but lacks the treasure hunting aspects.

The work is a mixed bag of ceremonial magic whose roots ultimately come to us, via the hand of many editors over many years, from the Greek Magical Papyri. It contains versions of the "Key of Solomon", "The Red Dragon", "The Grand Grimoire", as well as sections on magic candles, "Chaldean and Egyptian" philters, enchantments and sorceries.

Maggi has done a splendid job bringing this work into an English translation. It is a handsome volume, beautifully bound in black (faux?) leather with metallic red stamping to the spine and a metallic red devil in the corner of the cover. The paper is a nice thicker quality of cream with a rougher tooth, giving it an old book feel. The endpapers are printed with a splendid artwork by Daniele Valeriani.

For any scholar of Cyprian literature this is a must have edition in one's collection. Nephilim Press have provided an important part of the puzzle of St Cyprian the Magician as an Iberian folk character and focal point of an evolving magical tradition that has spanned centuries.

Marie Caroline Miolan-Carvalho (31 December 1827 in Marseille – 10 July 1895 in Château-Puys, near Dieppe) was a famed French operatic soprano, particularly associated with light lyric and coloratura roles. Born Marie Caroline Félix-Miolan, she studied first with her father, François Félix-Miolan, an oboist, and later at the Conservatoire of Paris with Gilbert Duprez. After winning the first prize at the Conservatorie, she began touring throughout France, making her stage debut in Brest, as Isabelle in Robert le Diable, in 1849. Upon returning to Paris the following year, Marie Miolan made her debut in the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor at the Grand Opera on December 14, 1849. She went on to sing in Le Pré aux clercs, Les Huguenots, Der Freischütz, Hamlet, etc.

From 1849-55 and 1868–85, Miolan-Carvalho sang in Paris at the Opéra-Comique as Caroline Carvalho. In 1853, she married Léon Carvalho, a French impresario and director of Théâtre Lyrique. After their marriage, she began to use the name Caroline Carvalho instead of Marie Miolan becoming the prima donna at the Théâtre Lyrique appearing from 1856 to 1867. She performed mostly in Mozart and Rossini roles, but also created there an estimated 30 roles, notably by Charles Gounod such as Marguerite in Faust (1859) where she notably inspired Gounod to remove sections of the score. Other works include Baucis in Philémon et Baucis (1860), the title role in Mireille (1864) and Juliette in Roméo et Juliette (1867), but also Louis Clapisson's La Fanchonnette, Victor Massé's Les noces de Jeanette, Ambroise Thomas's La cour de Célimène.

In 1859, Miolan-Carvalho made her first appearance at Royal Opera House in London in Giacomo Meyerbeer’s Dinorah. She performed regularly there until 1864 and again in 1871-72 where she was Gilda, Mathilde, Marguerite de Valois, Marguerite and Countess Almaviva. She also appeared in Berlin and Saint Petersburg.

Miolan-Carvalho retired from the stage in 1885, as Marguerite. After retirement, she taught singing in Paris where her most notable student was Maria Delna.

Noted for her vocal purity and coloratura precision, she was one of the most famous French singers of her day. She often encouraged composers to write their scores that would showcase her vocal technique. Because of this, she was well known for keeping audiences attentive and large rounds of applause.

Before it was developed, the area was once a remote rural getaway for people like the romantic writer Chateaubriand and Colbert, the mighty finance minister under Louis XIV.

You can visit their old homes, which both have delightful grounds and are kept as museums. Paris is always close by and RER will take you to Notre Dame Cathedral in exactly 30 minutes. This route runs straight south of the city, so we'll give you a few ideas for the left bank of the Seine just a quick ride on public transport. Discover the best things to do in Massy.

1. Église Sainte-Marie-Madeleine

The ancient pilgrimage route, the Way of St James, passed through Massy on its long journey to Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain. In France, many people begin their 1448-kilometer trek from the Tour Saint-Jacques in Paris.

Traditionally pilgrims would have stopped in Massy to worship at this church, which took heavy damage during the Allied bombing of Massy in the Second World War. The only part of the original structure still here is the 13th-century bell-tower, preserved now as a monument next to a new church that went up in the 1950s.

2. Opéra de Massy

Massy has the only opera house in the Île-de-France Region outside Paris. There’s dance, theatre, literary recitals, music as well as operas like Tosca, Turandot, Faust, and Così fan Tutte in the last few years.

It has a church-like location, opened in 1993 at a cost of 172 million francs. And if you want to know more, you can book a guided tour with the Massy travel office, literally going behind the scenes, visiting the rehearsal stage and orchestra pit.

3. Local Sights

Massy isn't full of blockbuster milestones, but if you find yourself in the suburbs, you can get through a fun morning picking. Before it was built after the war, Massy was a rural getaway for some kind Parisians like the historian Fustel de Coulanges.

Another was the vaunted surgeon Jacques-René Tenon who helped advance hygiene in the city’s hospitals and whose stately mansion at 66 Rue de Versailles is still standing. Château du Haut and La Cimade are two such residences, both private but worthy of your attention from the outside.

In the 20th century, Massy was equipped with some outstanding modern sculptures and one must look for is Raymond Moretti, Aroust de Lumière since 1989.

4. Centre Culturel Paul B

If the Opéra de Massy is for high culture, the Centre Culturel Paul B is a stylish new performing arts center where you can discover fresh musical talent. New artists share bills with touring bands, all in a comfortable, hip environment.

Whether you like jazz, indie, hip hop, world music or any kind of rock music, it's worth checking out what's in store. The venue has been devised with acoustics in mind and has a large auditorium that can hold just shy of 1,000 punters.

There is also a more intimate clubhouse for 400 where you can explore upcoming artists from this international region of Paris.

5. Parc de Sceaux

The local suburb of Sceaux was chosen by Louis XIV’s minister of finance Jean-Baptiste Colbert for his residence. His castle was later destroyed to be replaced by a revival mansion by Louis XIII in the Second Empire.

But the park around it follows the same plan as to when it was landscaped by the prodigious André Le Nôtre who made his name at Versailles. The park has rigid geometry, topiaries trimmed to precision and the same sort of overwhelming scale that you get at Versailles.

Avenues intersect the lawns and disappear into the distance, while the Grand Canal is more than a kilometer in length and fed by the Cascades, a terraced fountain descending from the château.

6. Musée du Domaine Départemental de Sceaux

The castle and its annex are a unique museum, with art from the Paris School and majestic architecture. The Pavillon d’Aurore is one of the few fragments of Colbert’s original 17th-century château and was decorated by the brilliant Charles le Brun, who also worked on Versailles.

The orangery preserves the sculptures that decorated the grounds in Colbert’s time. And the newer 19th-century house is an art gallery with paintings, ceramics, and furniture.

There are over 400 landscapes from the 1800s by the likes of Georges Michel, Albert Lebourg and Constant Troyon, and some 950 early photographs by Eugène Atget, Félix Martin-Sabon and Charles Lansiaux.

7. Maison de Chateaubriand

Known at the time as Vallée-aux-Loups, this hotel was a retreat from the political scene in Paris for a politician who became the writer François-René de Chateaubriand. He moved here with his wife Céleste in 1807 and was very attached to the house and its gorgeous park.

Inside the home where he also wrote his memoirs, there’s an exhibition about his work, some personal effects, and paintings from the era. The 56-hectare grounds reflect Chateaubriand’s passion for travel and botany, featuring 500 species of trees and shrubs.

In addition, part of the property is the idyllic Vertle Verte, which has the heritage of cultural figures from poet Jules Barbier to artist Jean Fautrier.

8. Marché International de Rungis

Set your alarm and get over to the suburb of Rungis, where the largest wholesale market on the planet does business. The numbers involved at this 234-hectare complex are almost mind-bending: 13,000 people work here each day when some 26,000 vehicles enter the site.

You can guess that this is not the place to buy your groceries, but a sophisticated, sophisticated machine that helps put food on a restaurant table in Paris. You can book a guided visit as an individual or in a group, and the first tours start at 04:30, so it’s one for the early risers.

9. Paris Catacombs

No more than 20 minutes on the RER is an ossuary where the bones of some six million Parisians are stacked in decorative arrangements. And while these tunnels and galleries lined with bones and skulls may seem frivolous in a creepy sort of way, they came about as an answer to a crisis gripping the city in the 1700s.

Because of cave-ins and plain lack of space, Paris was unable to bury its, so the cemeteries were cleared, and historic burials were moved to these former quarries in what is now the 14th Arrondissement.

10. Tour Montparnasse

Queuing for the Eiffel Tower and then jostling to enjoy the view from the platforms is one of the downsides to visiting Paris. So if the time is high, or you want to see the Paris skyline actually include the Eiffel Tower, Tour Montparnasse is the answer.

The view from the top of this 210-meter skyscraper may well be the best in the city, not least because this hulking black slab of a tower isn’t part of it. During the day, the vistas are raised, and at night, when the Eiffel Tower is illuminated, they are as romantic as possible.

Sunny days in paradise

Malia émergea du sommeil dans les bras de Doyoung et sourit en voyant les rayons du soleil traverser les rideaux. Doucement la jeune fille se recula et sortit du lit. Doyoung avait besoin de repos, alors elle sortit de la chambre, descendit l'escalier et rejoignit les gens dans l'immense lounge. Elle sourit en voyant Jeno et Jaemin allongé dans le canapé, somnoler l'un contre l'autre et puis deux bras vinrent l'encercler. Samael. Il était naturel, cheveux châtains et ses grands yeux océans brillant. Il embrassa la joue de sa sœur et sortit vers la plage, ce que Malia fit aussi. Dans l'eau les plus belles créatures du séjour montraient a quel point Malia n'était pas exceptionnelle. Sofia surtout. Ses longues jambes musclées et toniques, ses hanches balançant tel une déesse, ce ventre plat et tout aussi tonique. Sa poitrine généreuse mise en avant dans ce bikini noir qui rendait parfaitement sur sa peau si claire. Malia elle savait que si elle se mettait au soleil, son côté hawaïen ressortirait... Et puis Sofia n'avait pas qu'un corps de déesse, elle avait le sourire d'une reine et un port de tête de majesté. Elle rejeta ses longues mèches blondes en arrière et sourit quand Taeil vint lui amener un drap de plage. Elle s'essuya et quand Jungwoo et Lucas les regardaient... Sofia en eut assez. Elle s'approcha de Taeil et vint nouer ses bras à son cou pour l'embrasser avec tendresse. Taeil répondit au baiser, un bras glissé autour des hanches de la belle et elle se recula pour rentrer, Taeil fixa Jungwoo et Lucas en souriant et suivit Sofia un sourire aux lèvres alors qu'Asuka était sortie et croisait les bras, alors que Lucas venait vers elle pour lui parler de Taeil et Sofia... Malia fixa Sofia quand elle arriva à sa hauteur et la jeune suédoise s'arrêta à hauteur de Malia en souriant.

« Whatever you're gonna say, I love him. » dit Sofia

« I know, I'm not blind » dit Malia doucement

« We are a thing since some time now ... but never made it clear, now, I guess, everyone's gonna know. » dit Sofia, alors que Taeil vint lui prendre les hanches. « Tu sais comment on dit je t'aime en suédois Taeil ? »

« Jag alskar dig. » fit Ten en sortant, souriant

« Oh bien Ten ! » dit Sofia en souriant « Mat ? » demanda-t-elle

« Qui d'autre ? » fit la voix grave du suédois

Matthias souleva Ten et s'en alla en courant vers l'eau, les deux riant aux éclats. Jack sortit de la maison, un livre à la main et s'allongea dans le hamac près de Johnny en souriant. Puis Taeyong sortit et croisa Sören... qui posa sa casquette sur la tête de Taeyong, avant de sortir un tube de crème solaire et d'enduire Taeyong de cette même crème. Puis sans un mot le Suédois enleva son t-shirt et s'en alla nager lui aussi. Taeyong fixa Malia sans comprendre.

« Pourquoi ? » demanda Taeyong

« Pour t'éviter un coup de soleil ... ? » Malia fixa Taeyong sans comprendre « Ou est-ce que tu te demandes pourquoi il a des attentions comme ça ? » demanda Malia

« Pourquoi il me traite comme ça ? » demanda Taeyong

« te traiter comment ? » fit Malia en prenant le bras de Taeyong pour aller marcher le long de la plage

« Malia, il est doux, gentil, il fait attention... mais je suis pas bon pour lui... » dit Taeyong « Je te jure, il est tellement attentionné. » fit-il rêveur en regardant la montagne

« Ecoute... » Malia s'assit sur le sable en soupirant « Il a l'air doux c'est le cas. Mais j'ai vécu avec lui, en coloc et les murs n'était pas épais. » dit-elle « Sören n'est pas aussi doux qu'il n'y paraît. Et de ce que je sais c'est que si Doyoung est possessif, Sören est pire. »

« Aish... C'est pas ça ... » Taeyong fixa ses mains «  Je suis pas très sain pour lui... » dit Taeyong

« Comment ça ? » demanda Malia ;

« Malia je vais te choquer ... » marmonna Taeyong

« Alors ma sœur à tous les vices sexuels du monde et en parle a longueurs de journée... Je crois pas que je sois choquable. » dit Malia en souriant

« J'aime ... qu'on me fasse mal, qu'on me maltraite... » marmonna Taeyong « Et ça à fait fuir tout les mecs... »

« Tu aimes Sören ? » demanda Malia de but en blanc

« Oui ! » répondit Taeyong « Mais... »

« Il n'y a pas de mais. » Malia se leva « Tu vas faire ce que je te dis. Sören ne parle pas beaucoup, a l'inverse de ses frères. Alors va dans l'eau et embrasse le. »

« Mais... »

« Taeyong, fais moi confiance. » dit Malia en soupirant.

Taeyong avala de travers mais il avait confiance en Malia, alors il se leva, enleva la casquette et s'en alla vers l'eau pour sauter au cou de Sören. Le suédois le rattrapa sans mal et quand Taeyong vint l'embrasser, rouge comme une pivoine, le géant sourit et approfondit le baiser. Malia elle sortit un petit carnet de sa poche et cocha. Et de deux. Elle posa son regard sur Jaehyun qui regardait Faust. Ça, c'était une autre paire de manches. Là, ce n'était Jaehyun le problème... Là c'était son frère ... Elle se leva et Doyoung l'attrapa au vol. L'embrassant la jeune femme oubliait ce qu'elle pensait faire. Et quand Elrick arriva en short de bain, torse nu, montrant largement tout ses tatouages, la jeune femme se détacha de Doyoung pour regarder les réactions à propos des tatouages. Elrick était un bel homme. Il le savait. Son torse était musclé, finement dessiner, comme son dos. Il n'était pas parmi les hommes les plus larges, mais il était bien proportionné. Sur ses épaules on pouvait lire en grand JUMP, juste en dessous quelques dates très importantes à ses yeux dont une nouvelle 26.10.95. Sur ses côtes gauche le refrain de 'too much love will kill you' et sur ses côtes droite une rose des vents avec juste au dessus de sa hanches plusieurs coordonnées dont deux nouvelles ... Malia sourit, puis le long de ses bras, elle voyait des manches, ce qu'on mettait quand on avait des problèmes musculaire ou de la rétention d'eau. La première manche qu'Elrick enleva pour montrer un tout nouveau tatouage fut la gauche. Taeil, Taeyong, Johnny, Yuta,Kun, Doyoung, Ten, Jaehyun, Winwin, Jungwoo, Lucas, Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle et Jisung... Une enchevêtrement de noms. Dans un superbe collage, et chaque nom étant dans une écriture différente... Il avait du rester coucher pendant longtemps... Et quand il enleva l'autre manche qui ne couvrait que son avant bras droit, il montra un tatouage qui prit l'intérieur de son bras 'NCT- 2018'  et juste dessous la phrase calligraphié 'Never say never'. Puis si on descendait le long de ses jambes, on pouvait voir sur sa jambe gauche un lion et un Tigre le long de sa cuisse l'inscription 'Scorpion' en chinois et un scorpion sur le mollet droit. Le lion pour Jack et le scorpion pour Elrick. Et le tigre ... parce qu'ils étaient tous les deux nés la même année. Elrick se tourna vers Malia et lui fit signe d'enlever son pull. La jeune demoiselle aux cheveux lavande soupira longuement... Elle l'enleva en soupirant dévoilant ses tatouages elle aussi. Sa partition le long de ses côtes et son piercing au nombril, puis le long de sa clavicule la phrase de Lilo et stitch, puis sur ses bras les nouvelles additions. Sur son avant-bras droit on pouvait voir un grand 'N' et l'un sous l'autre marqué 'NCT et Noctis' dans des styles d'écriture bien différents. Sur son bras gauche un petit Stitch tenait un citron vert dans les pattes et reprenait le texte entier 'Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten'  et sur son dos... Elle s'était faite tatouer deux ailes d'ange qui remontaient sur le haut de ses bras. La jeune femme rougissait un peu, alors elle s'approcha de Faust et lui enleva son pull. Faust n'était pas aussi tatoué que sa sœur mais possédait lui une aile de démon et une d'Ange dans le dos tatoué de la même façon que sa sœur. Il montrait aussi par cet occasion qu'il n'avait rien à envié a Elrick niveau musculature. Et là, tout le monde se tourna vers Jack. 

« No. » fit-il en reprenant sa lecture

« Whyy ? » demanda Elrick en ricanant

« Because, i'm not trained as you are. » Dit Jack

« Get out of your clothes you bastard » grogna Elrick

« No. » marmonna Jack en se redressant

« You're litterally ripped as fuck GET OUT OFF THOSE DAMN FREAKING CLOTHES OR I'M GONNA RIP'EM » gueula Elrick

« FOR LEMMY'S SAKE CAN YOU GUYS STOP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! » Cria Malia « Si Jack ne veut pas, fou lui la paix. »

Jack se leva blasé et enleva sa chemise. De dos, on pu voir sur son épaule gauche une moité de lion et l'autre de tigre ... et sur tout son dos un phénix.Il se tourna et montra un torse clairement pas aussi musclé qu'Elrick, mais possédant toujours de jolies tablettes de chocolat moins dessinés certes. Sur son cœur le refrain de 'Too much love will kill you' sur lequel reposait un petit scorpion et sur son avant-bras gauche JUMP en grand. Jack sourit doucement en montrant son bras droit.

« Je vous le réserve, sauf que pour ça, il faut que je retourne a Londrès. » dit Jack en souriant

« On a trouver un tatoueur pas mal... mais je comprends que tu restes fidèles a Félix. » dit Elrick en ricanant « C'est qu'il est doué ce vieux con. »

« Yuta pitié, embarque le, allez voir le lagon, mais qu'il dégage de ma vue. » fit Jack blasé

« Hai ! » fit Yuta avec un grand smirk

Elrick suivit volontiers son cher et tendre. Mark lui regardait la mer éblouit par l'endroit. Donghyuck le rejoignit et tapota son épaule en souriant. C'était simple, beau... et tellement reposant. Tou était parfait. Lucas était allongé sur la plage et Asuka lui massait les épaules, Taeil lisait reposer contre Sofia, Malia était dans les bras de Doyoung qui chantonnait en regardant Taeyong et Sören dans un match de force dans l'eau contre Ten et Matthias. Jeno et Jaemin dormaient sous un palmier, Jungwoo lisait un manga, Kun dormait avec Renjun, Chenle et Jisung contre lui... Jaehyun regardait Faust en lisant, et Faust roupillait sous un palmier contre Samael qui lisait un livre et Elrick et Yuta était on ne sait où entrain de fait on ne sait quoi.... Tout était vraiment parfait... cet instant était parfait, la sur la plage au bord de l'océan.. Vraiment tout était parfait... alors Mark prit son courage a deux mains et se tourna vers Haechan.

« I love you ! » marmonna Mark « euh je t'aime »

« J'avais compris. » fit Donghyuck avec un sourire amusé puis il caressa la joue de Mark « Mais moi aussi je t'aime. » répondit-il

Et doucement Mark réduit l'espace entre lui et Donghyuck pour l'embrasser. C'était un baiser tendre et doux, mais rempli de sincérité et d'amour. Mark rougit en riant quand Donghyuck se recula et prit sa main, pour aller se poser sous le palmier de Jaehyun qui reprit assidûment sa lecture. De loin, Malia cocha un case. Et de trois. Puis son regard se perdit sur Faust et puis vers Jaehyun... ça n'allait pas être facile... Mais là, c'était entre elle et son jumeau.

Cults Galore

Cults. If the JL had a nickel for every cult dedicated to Marvel they’ve found, they’d have two nickels. Don’t get them wrong, it’s not a lot, but it’s still concerning.

Aquaman, Green Lantern, and Marvel were sent to an alien planet. They needed to establish peaceful contact with the people there. That was the goal. So why? Why in the Gods’ names are the people here all tatted up with lightning bolts suspiciously similar to Marvel’s. Why are they calling Marvel Thavma? And most importantly, why are the three being lead to some type of shrine?

Hal: “Hey uh… I’m sorry to ask, but what does this shrine you told us about have to do with the treaty you need to sign?”

Alien Leader: “They are sacred grounds.”

Hal: “Okay…?”

Alien Leader: *continued to lead them until they came upon a bunch of people petrified into stone. The people were placed in a circle, in the middle was a grand shrine*

Aquaman: “What’s with all the statues?”

Alien Leader: “Statues- ah yes. The statues.” *looks to Marvel* “We’ve all kept them preserved just for you. Just in case that of off chance you decided to grace us with your presence again. And would you look at that? It paid off.”

Marvel: *awkwardly smiles at the Alien leader*

Alien Leader: *looks back ahead*

Marvel: *elbows Aquaman and starts speak in Atlantean* “This guy’s creepy.”

Aquaman: *responds in Atlantean* “I know.”

Hal: “What’d you guys say?”

Marvel: *switches back to English* “We’ll tell you when we get back to the ship.”

*awkward silence of following the Alien Leader*

Aquaman: “So… The statues. You make em or something?”

Alien Leader: “No no no. They’re all soldiers of the people who used to oppress our kind. They were petrified by our very lord themself during the uprising.” *looks over to Marvel* “Do tell me you remember?”

Marvel: *searches though memories and finds out a previous champion had done all of this* “I do.” *looks literally anywhere but Hal and Arthur*

Hal and Aquaman: *immediately share a look*

Later…

Marvel, Hal, and Arthur: *all at a burger joint eating in civvies*

Arthur: “I don’t get it. How do you just fail to mention that you petrified an entire army?”

Marvel: *shrugs* “I kinda forgot.”

Hal: “How do you just forget that? Also, you guys never told me about what you guys were saying. Are you guys gonna spill the beans now or what?”

Marvel: “What are you talking about?”

Hal: “When you elbowed Arthur?”

Marvel: “Ohhhh that.”

Arthur: “We were just talking about how the guy was creepy.”

Hal: *nods head* “True dat. True dat.”

Then there was the second cult. This one’s human though, don’t worry. This cult was found by Marvel, Batman and Robin.

Marvel: “I thought you just said this was just a cult. Not a cult for me.” *looking around at the various tapestries with his lightning bolt symbol*

Robin!Damian: “What makes you think it’s for you?”

Marvel: *gestures to the lightning bolt on his chest, then to the other lightning bolts on the decor of the place*

Batman: “They were worshiping someone named Keraunos.”

Robin!Damian: “And unless your name is Keraunos, it’s not for you.”

Marvel: “I’ll have you know it’s actually one of my names.” *walks until he stops in front of a fountain*

Robin: “You can’t be serious. Why would they worship you of all people? There’s hardly anything of value to worship in the first place.” *follows after him and stops near the fountain too*

Marvel: “Should I be offended by that?” *looks down at the water* “Geez, were they drinking electricity charged water? Normal humans cannot do that.”

Batman: *also walks over and kneels down slightly to read a plaque* “This plaque says the water was blessed by you.”

Marie Caroline Miolan-Carvalho (31 December 1827 in Marseille – 10 July 1895 in Château-Puys, near Dieppe) was a famed French operatic soprano, particularly associated with light lyric and coloratura roles. Born Marie Caroline Félix-Miolan, she studied first with her father, François Félix-Miolan, an oboist, and later at the Conservatoire of Paris with Gilbert Duprez. After winning the first prize at the Conservatorie, she began touring throughout France, making her stage debut in Brest, as Isabelle in Robert le Diable, in 1849. Upon returning to Paris the following year, Marie Miolan made her debut in the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor at the Grand Opera on December 14, 1849.[1][2][3] She went on to sing in Le Pré aux clercs, Les Huguenots, Der Freischütz, Hamlet, etc. From 1849-55 and 1868–85, Miolan-Carvalho sang in Paris at the Opéra-Comique as Caroline Carvalho. She performed mostly in Mozart and Rossini roles, but also created there an estimated 30 roles, notably by Charles Gounod such as Marguerite in Faust (1859) where she notably inspired Gounod to remove sections of the score. Other works include Baucis in Philémon et Baucis (1860), the title role in Mireille (1864) and Juliette in Roméo et Juliette (1867), but also Louis Clapisson's La Fanchonnette, Victor Massé's Les noces de Jeanette, Ambroise Thomas's La cour de Célimène. In 1859, Miolan-Carvalho made her first appearance at  Royal Opera House in London in Giacomo Meyerbeer’s Dinorah. She performed regularly there until 1864 and again in 1871-72 where she was Gilda, Mathilde, Marguerite de Valois, Marguerite and Countess Almaviva. She also appeared in Berlin and Saint Petersburg. Miolan-Carvalho retired from the stage in 1885, as Marguerite. After retirement, she taught singing in Paris where her most notable student was Maria Delna. Noted for her vocal purity and coloratura precision, she was one of the most famous French singers of her day. She often encouraged composers to write their scores that would showcase her vocal technique. Because of this, she was well known for keeping audiences attentive and large rounds of applause
