Archeology
Once in a while, my laptop will die on me for no apparent reason. I get all paranoid thinking that the cyber deities cast down bolts of lightning in the form of uninvited updates and sent them via optic fibers to kill my computer, and once in a while when it comes back from the dead, I head directly to my files and peruse over write-ups that have grown stale and vapid over time and find myself…

The Wild Robot is amazing but please be careful if you’re photosensitive - the opening sequence had some very harsh flashing and strobing lights!

thinking more about the partial illithid state I think the illithid powers would come innate to shri’iia after she transforms. it’s like she’s been casting them all her life, and she just simply needs to do them instead being taught. same with the telepathy and flying and everything the partial illithid state entails, the skillset just feels innate to her - as easy as breathing - despite her not even being a spell caster beforehand. she would not have any issues with the language anymore as well, that thing seems so trivial since she can now just understand and speak it as if it was her own mother tongue. like the illithid tadpole opening her mind to virtually everything that all of the things she struggled before just seems so insignificant. in this state she’s a more powerful and a much better version of herself, and wouldn’t she want to keep that? and this is just grazing the surface of her potential too, if she evolves further she can be so much more.
but at the same time, i also think she feels so out of place in her own body because she’s able to perform these amazing feats but it doesn’t feel natural to her. she’s a spectator inside her own body - she’s seeing herself become more powerful and all that but she feels more and more detached to her own self. there’s also a voice in the back of her mind - not the emperor’s - that’s tempting her to evolve all the way. look at how wonderful this is, and how powerful she is. this is who she really is - she never needed lolth, or her oaths, or anyone - this is what she can be and she can be so much more if she lets the tadpole to fully consume her - but then shri’iia has to remind herself that she only took this power out of necessity, and she does regret this transformation, and she’s only recently managed to reclaim her own independence outside of lolth she can’t bear to lose it again.

♡ ˚·   @anruraiocht asked:
[ 𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐞𝐥 ] : unable to handle their fondness towards receiver, the sender lashes out and they end up in a heated argument. ( ehehe )
Ishtar stands stock still, paralyzed with wrists still stretched between iron bars and palm held open. It's empty now, carefully wrapped remnants of her untouched dinner knocked from it onto the floor. She is frozen as though she expects to be scolded, even though the only person here to do so is a girl covered in filth and bound at the ankles.
"I thought..." Mother had taught her that people would weep to receive gifts from her one day, that there would only ever be gratitude for the Goddess of Thunder.
But this girl shows none, her face contorted in an anger so raw that Ishtar cannot bear to look at it. She thinks first that she should be angry-- that is what she has been taught to be when disrespected by someone labeled as lesser-- but then that feels wrong. What was it that made this girl lesser? The cage that she had been shoved in? The kingdom that she had been stripped of? The blood of her father still drying on his throne? All done in the name of Ishtar's own.
She steps shakily back, distantly aware that she should not be here any longer than she has to, and yet she finds she cannot bring herself to run. "I was trying to help, I-"
It hits her then that to help would be to restore what has been taken, to free her from this prison built within her own home. To help would have been to never allow this to have happened at all.
Footsteps echo from further down the corridor and her time for useless apologies has met its end. There is evidence of her disobedience plainly strewn across the floor of the girl's cell, and with one glance Ishtar knows that her fate rests in the hands of the other.
As the cell disappears behind her, she thinks that perhaps it is only fair. If she is to be punished, let it be at her discretion.
And the next time that Ishtar sneaks away in search of Miranda of House Ulster, she is nowhere to be found.

you do not know true fear if you do/have not owned an old furby.
I have a classic tuxedo model that sits asleep on my windowsill most of the time. He is a prized possession.
I was changing in my room, back to the window, when I heard a small click come from behind me after I finished taking off my shirt. I didn't think much of it at the time. I turned around after I finished changing, and the fear I felt in that moment I have not been able to replicate since. It's eyes were open. It was not awake. It should not have been able to do that. I cautiously approached, half expecting it to lunge at me somehow. I raised a hand, and gently slid two fingers down it's face, closing the eyelids like someone might shut the eyes of a corpse, and turned it to face out the window.
That was the first time it happened. It was not the last. Sometimes it happens while I'm asleep. Sometimes while I'm at school. Sometime, like the first, it happens when I am in the room with it, back turned. The first thing I do when waking up in the morning or entering/leaving my room is to check it's eyes. It behaves perfectly normal while awake, but I'm not convinced that it isn't haunted as shit

while it could be that ishiro wouldn't want taiya to be hit by the water bc he has secrets, it may also be that ishiro doesn't want taiya to be embarrassed like he was but doesn't get that it wouldn't be as big of a deal to taiya as it was to him

It's impressive to me how little fans who are apparently dedicated enough to old Valve games to care about mods and fangames aren't knowledgeable enough to know what exactly a mod is or the history of the biggest Valve games

PHOENIX OMG I am shaking your hand so vigorously that laxus is so cool I didn't think ur art could get any cooler but holy shit the details??the shading???? God the glowing scars bring me so much joy idek why,,,Like hand to heart I am so genuinely blown away by this (even though bald laxus is kinda cursed lol XD) I am holding this gently in my hands and incorporating this into my headcanons for laxus immediately 👍🏼
Also that's such an awesome take on his scar like!!! not only is this objectively cooler than having just one scar on his face it would also probably have been a telltale sign that there's more to him than just being a lightning mage. I also love that this would give us more insight to the actual logistics of magic in this world like showing that mages would actually struggle with learning how to wield their magic and hence scarring like that wouldn't be uncommon to see and reasonable to justify,,,just makes magic feel more real storywise yknow! Anyways that's all for now I have so many more thoughts on this that I can't articulate properly bcuz I'm still freaking out but this was hands down the best thing to wake up to thank you so much for taking the time to answer my ask and in so much detail too <33 (once again I remember why you're my favourite fairy tail artist/blog lol) have a good day!! - scar anon
Aw its no trouble at all man, really! I've been plannin on doing up the Laxus scar concept for a while now to help me down the line for my rewrite so you just gave me the opportunity to draw it earlier than planned 😅
And i take any opportunity i can get to add a lil logistics to the magic system. My goal for it isn't to make it make 100% sense ( even though i appreciate a touch of realism in fantasy every once in a while) but for it to have some weight in universe yknow? The magic's sorta surface level spread in a way to me and loosely connected to the world and its characters. Like it's such a major component but not really ingrained in a lot of things and i really like to explore that whenever im just yknow, rotating fairy tail in my head lol.
But as always man, thanks for your kindness and support! Your a real sweetheart scar anon and i appreciate it!

Dedicated to; this ask.
MDNI
Satoru Gojo
Ever since you first became official- Gojo had this little habit of asking to give you a baby. You always shook him off, telling him ‘no’ because it was far too soon and you were too young to start having children.
Birth control became a necessity because of the little need he had to finish inside of you.
On one occasion of him asking the incessant question- you leaned in real close to his ear, “I will impregnate you.” you whispered.
This unlocked a whole other can of worms in Satoru’s mind. The urge to breed you was strong, but that little promise lit a fire in his soul.
But one day, while out on a date- walking down an empty street, a child no older than 7 or 8 ran up to Satoru, Tears staining his cheeks and asking for his mom.
Though you hardly saw Satoru interact with children in your daily life, you could see his demeanor change from a normal playful one to a more serious and authoritative one.
Crouching down to the child’s height and asking where he last saw his mom and his name—all with calm.
You watched the little interaction unfold before you with wide eyes- the thought that Gojo was too immature to be a father completely being thrown from your mind as Satoru stood up straight and held the child’s hand in his. Guiding him back to where the child last saw his mom and reuniting the stressed mom and the crying child.
After that, more and more little instances Satoru did, made you start contemplating his little offer of giving you a child.
Whenever you’d go shopping with him, you’d always pretend to accidentally stumble across the baby aisle.
Gojo perked a brow, watching your eyes admire the little socks attached to the onside in your hands.
Corner of his lip curled up with a soft giggle, stepping over to you and whispering- “You’re actually considering having a kid?” he teased watching you furrow your eyebrows and hang the little onesie back on the rack.
You shoved him with your elbow, scoffing and making a mental note to never bring this up again.
That night, you were scrolling on your phone- watching any video that popped up of a chunky baby with a soft expression.
Satoru was beside you, focused on his phone, but the sound of a child’s laughter made him look over at you with furrowed eyebrows- peeking over to your phone and watching the tiktok you were looking at.
Some video of a mom showing their child’s massive hair bows- he was about to laugh at how silly the baby looked. Only he scanned your expression and got a hint as to why you hadn’t scrolled yet.
Satoru rolled atop you, resting his head on your sternum and urging you to put your phone down.
Holding his head in your hands- “I can give you a baby if you want one so bad~” he teased, causing you to furrow your eyebrows.
Parting your lips with a soft gasp, “Satoru Gojo!” you feigned shock, whispering, “A child out of wedlock? What would the clan think?” you teased, mushing his cheeks together as he rolled his eyes.
Pulling your hands from his cheeks and hoisting himself up- face to face as he placed a hand between your thighs, urging you to open them.
Placing a kiss on your lips with a smile- “I am the clan.” he scoffed smugly.
Toji Zenin
It all started with one little sentence he littered during intercourse, legs bent to your chest, and Toji pounding into you like his life depended on it.
Something along the lines of, “Gonna breed this perfect pussy-” in a low husky tone. It was muttered- like his internal thoughts seeped from his lips without permission.
But the words stayed in your mind- long after you had cleaned off his copious mess from your center. Even as Toji was snoring next to you- you stayed up thinking about the words he had muttered into the air.
They made you squint thinking about the possibility of it. Questions you wish Toji was awake to ask him.
Rare were the times he would sprinkle dirty talk during sex. But the way he said it, it wasn’t meant to be heard as dirty talk. The way it sounded was he spoke it as a proclamation.
The next morning, when Toji woke up to your face pressed against his chest. Feeling your eyes watch him sleep, he woke up asking you what you needed.
“You want to-” air caught in your throat, recalling what he said. “..breed me?” you whispered, looking at his hazy eyes and furrowed brow.
Corner of his lip curled, “Where’d you get that idea?” he scoffed, closing his eyes and pretending not to feel your harsh gaze on his skin.
“From you- you said it last night.”
Toji nodded ‘no’. As though the idea of him saying that was impossible.
“Yes, you did- I heard you.” watching Toji’s smug face nod ‘no’ again.
“You can’t gaslight me Toji- I heard you.” Your determination amused the man- feeling his chest rise in a half laugh against your cheek.
Even a few days after- the thought lingered in your mind. Toji still refused to believe he said it- telling you that you were mistaken.
And then Toji caught onto the feverlike smile you’d get on your cheeks whenever you’d see a baby in public. Smiling to himself as you pinched your eyebrows at the little humans.
But there was this one time- on an elevator with a new mom and a baby in her hands. Toji noticed your staring as the woman struggled to reach into her purse, which caused it to fall and spill her belongings on the ground.
The woman sighed- looking down before peering her eyes back to you- “Could you?” she asked, holding out her baby to you- which you happily took and looked at Toji with the child in your arms.
Toji swore his eye twitched as he watched you- happily bouncing the child in your arms before the woman reached her hands back to her child.
After that, Toji started expressing his urgent need to breed you full of his children during intimacy- to which he still denied he said any of those things.
“Whatever- as long as you don’t become a deadbeat again, I don’t care.” you scoffed, referring to his son he refused to talk about.
Naoya Zenin
While he was dating you- Naoya took a lot of care in ensuring not to get you pregnant. “Children out of wedlock never result in anything good.” he would defend. He told you to start taking birth control- only you laughed in his face and said no.
That if he wanted to have safe sex- he would have to wear a condom. That you wouldn’t alter your body’s hormones just because he doesn’t wanna get you pregnant. And Naoya obliged.
Midway through sex, pulling his ear down to your lips and telling him how much better it would feel without a condom- only for his eyes to shut tight- trying to keep his focus on not cumming, going as far as telling you to shut up. Multiple times, knowing if you didn’t, he might just listen to you.
Though you liked teasing him with the possibility. Asking if he didn’t want to see you barefoot and pregnant, waiting for him at home. Watching his neck pulse with a low gulp just thinking about it.
In truth, you didn’t really want to get pregnant- Naoya had a point in the whole ‘marriage first, then kids.’ thing. You only liked watching his ears turn red and warm whenever you’d try and tempt him with having sex without a condom.
You didn’t think much of it- unknowing of the temptation brewing in Naoya’s mind with every waking day he didn’t marry you.
Every time you whispered a temptation in his ear- the mental image of you waiting for him at home, swelled with his child and the future of his clan—Naoya was hanging on a very thin thread.
And once he finally had the guts to ask you- it took very little time for the wedding to be planned. The thought of children was nowhere near your mind on the day.
A small ceremony with his family, prancing you around like some trophy in front of the elders.
And that night- Naoya held a gentle hand as he undid the little buttons of your wedding dress- carefully unwrapping you from the costly lace.
You found it odd- sure. Naoya wasn’t usually the type to take things slow and gentle in this department.
But when you looked at him, his hips between your knees with your back on the bed. Looking up at Naoya as he undid the buttons of his dress shirt- “We’re not stopping till you’re pregnant.” he huffed, tossing his shirt aside and easing himself onto the bed.
Had you known your little temptations and offers of unprotected sex would cause his brain to rewire the idea of having kids- you still would’ve done it. Maybe with a little more tact though.
Naoya no longer saw it as another responsibility of being head of the clan- he saw it as an opportunity to breed you again- and again. Till you were so full there was no other choice than to get pregnant.
Suguru Geto
All it took was Suguru showing you pictures of him and the two girls he adopted when he left Jujutsu High and telling you countless stories behind the photos for you to look at him differently.
You saw a certain change in the way you looked at him. No longer a father figure to two teenage girls, you saw him as an actual father.
Mouthy and mean as those girls could be, you saw how gentle he was with them anyway. And you knew he could make a phenomenal father.
You chose a tactless form of asking him. Sitting at the table eating breakfast- looking at his soft expression.
“Would you be a dad again?”
Suguru looked at you with furrowed eyebrows- “...Again?” unsure of when the first time he became a father was.
You rolled your eyes, urging him to answer the question with a sigh.
“Depends.” Geto murmured, looking back down to his phone and earning a kick from your socked foot.
You scoffed, “On?”
“If we are stable- money wise, and if the conditions are right.” he grinned, wondering where this topic came from.
Your cheeks tingled in the slightest when he used ‘we’ to refer to becoming parents, answering another question you had.
Suguru thought back to the question again, lightly raising his eyebrows at realizing what you were asking.
“With…You?”
You laughed- “No Suguru- with your next partner.” tone full of sarcasm as he rolled his eyes.
“I would be open..?” he squinted, trying to gauge where you stood on this. Watching your face go unchanged at his response- wanting to hear the truth, not just something that he said catered to your opinion. “...To it?”
You grinned, “Suguru, this isn’t a trick question. Just answer honestly.” assuring him that this was a necessary conversation in a relationship.
He gulped lightly, trying to shake away the worries of saying the wrong thing. Placing his phone on the table and looking at you with his hands between his knees. “I would love-” he grinned, cheeks blushed and avoidant of your gaze. “To have children with you.”
You couldn’t help the shy little laugh that left your lips- “But we are a smidge too young- don’t you think?” you grinned, watching his head nod with a scoffing smile.
“I did the teen dad thing- so maybe a little too young.” he joked-
You nodded agreeingly, looking at him with love filled eyes- “We’ll wait till we are 40.” you grinned, watching his shoulders move in a small giggle.
“Till 50- if we can.”
Kento Nanami
You both had been toying with the idea of children. Small comments like, “Awe Ken-” looking at him with a soft smile. “You would be a wonderful dad.” whenever he talked about the fears of becoming a father.
The talk of kids was spoken early in your relationship. Often were the times when the conversation of how many would come up a few minutes before bed.
Playing with your hand in the dark, lying on your back with Nanami beside you.
“How many?” You asked softly- hearing Nanami hum, close to falling asleep.
A low exhale left his lips; “Two. Maybe three.” His voice husky from how close he was to falling asleep. But he was always happy to answer your questions- knowing they would keep you up if he didn’t answer.
Rolling over onto your side and placing your head on his chest, “Twins?” you asked with a smile. Picturing the future with him as he put his hand onto your back.
Nanami let out a soft exhale with a smile. “Twins are a handful,” he spoke softly, his eyes daring to drift off to sleep as you caressed his torso.
You thought about it- remembering that you would have to carry them. “Okay. No twins.”
Hearing his heartbeat against your ear as you thought of another question.
“When?”
Nanami gruffed a soft laugh, rubbing small circles on your back. “We’d have to be married first.” he mumbled.
“Then wait a year or two.” his voice dwindling its tone as he eased into the exhaustion.
You furrowed your eyebrows, “Why?” softly blinking your eyes.
“A year of blissful marital life before children come into the picture.” Nanami spoke, half asleep, as the tiny part of his brain that filtered his words refused to work.
You grinned, “You wanna marry me?” softly giggling against his chest.
Nanami sighed- pressing his hand onto your back a little firmer, holding you close. “I do. Dunno why I haven’t ask you yet.” his words breathy and bordering on sleeping.
“Should get on that-” he exhaled, hearing his breathing ease into a heavier pattern against your ear.
After that, conversations about children only came up more and more. There was talk of names and if you’d move into a house instead of an apartment.
Slowly your own baby fever stuck onto him- you sending tiktoks of the chunky babies you’d get on your fyp didn’t help either.
The words “Practicing won’t hurt” were uttered whenever you mentioned the word breeding. All too thankful to the iud you had, knowing the apartment would be crawling with children if you didn’t have it.
Hiromi Higuruma
When you started letting Hiromi cum inside- he kinda just assumed that you were on something. Never hesitating to give you what you asked him for.
But Hiromi started getting the hints that you had a particular itch in your brain that only he could scratch.
The topic came up when you joined him for lunch- sitting outside a sandwich shop and hearing Hiromi talk about a case debriefing after this.
Too focused on telling you about it before he realized you had stopped listening.
Eyes looking off to the side and your thumbs twiddling in your lap.
“Honey?” he asked, looking in the direction you were looking and seeing a mother playing with her child. Snapping your gaze back to him-
“Sorry.” Softly exhaling, “Sorry- you were saying?”
Hiromi furrowed his eyebrows, watching your eyes glimmer with a nervous light. Reaching a hand out to yours, “What’s wrong?” he asked- all too intuitive at what the look on your face meant.
“Nothing- it’s okay.” Squeezing his hand assuringly.
Hiromi raised a brow- parting his lips about to speak only for you to interrupt him.
“Do you want kids?” preferring to rip the bandaid off rather than ease into a conversation.
He inhaled again- only for you to speak again. “With me. I mean.”
The corners of his lips curled, almost in a teasing smile.
Hiromi sighed, thinking about the question and looking down to his half-finished sandwich.
“I’ve never been in a relationship serious enough for the talk of children to come up.” he grinned, leaving your question unanswered.
“You’ve never thought about it?” holding his hand tightly. Scared that you were illusioning yourself into a future Hiromi didn’t want.
Hiromi tilted his head- thinking about it.
“I think I do…?”
You pursed your lips, unsatisfied with the half answer. And Hiromi let out a blushed scoff- “If wanting kids meant wanting them with you- i do.” he clarified. Earning for you to look at him with soft eyes and a wiggling pout.
“You mean-?” you pouted, looking at him with a soft expression.
His eyes widened at the sudden severity in your gaze, not knowing how much his confirmation meant to you.
Raising his hand to your lips and pressing a light peck on his knuckles “Can we?”
“...Now?”
You scoffed, “No, not now.” with a soft smile.
Hiromi exhaled, thinking of having an actual child- “How ’bout we focus on getting married first?”
Choso Kamo
Ever since the first time you had sex- Choso always finished inside, no patience nor ability to time his orgasm and pull out in time.
Not recalling the repercussions of unprotected sex- nor really caring.
And when the conversation of children came up- You insisted on giving him an army of children. “I think it’s what you deserve.” To which he looked at you as though something awakened in his mind when you said that.
While on dates, he would see an overly large family struggling to keep the many children in check. He would look at you and remember what you had said.
‘An army of children.’
Between the two of you- he caught babyfever first.
Walking through a strip mall- looking for a new pair of shoes when you passed a baby store.
Choso tugged your hand, looking at you eagerly and leading you into the store. “Just to look,” he said.
Holding onto a tiny pair of shoes, looking at you, and presenting them in his palm. “Are these really meant to fit a child?”
You let out a small giggle, nodding your head yes and watching him prattle around the store.
Asking you questions- as though you had any more idea than he did.
Watching your face uninterested in the window shopping he was doing- “You don’t want to have kids anymore?” furrowed eyebrows and determined to cut the window shopping if you didn’t.
You grinned, “Of course I still want to have kids.” taking his hand and placing it on your tummy as though you were already pregnant.
Eyes wide and cheeks pink as he rested his hand onto your tummy. “You gotta pump a baby in me first.” Smiling at the fact he was already looking for things for a child that hadn’t been conceived yet.
His mind sparked the idea of watching you grow big with his child. Made his eye twitch knowing that if you acted on your promise. That image wouldn’t be just an idea in Choso’s mind.
Marriage didn’t make a difference to him- only a meaningless piece of paper. Like a license, or a ssn number, or money. (he’s in denial)
So the next time you had intercourse- Choso accidentally overstimulated himself. Keeping your words of ‘Pump a baby in me.’ in mind as you allowed him to pump you full of potential children.
You did say an army of them. And Choso was more than happy to assist in creating the small army.

TELL ME AGAIN, R. SUNA
Tumblr media
sum. sequel to one last time. you visit suna after listening to the voicenote he sent you, just to talk, and end up doing a little more than that.
feat. rintaro suna
cw. cheating/infidelity, suna really got on my nerves while i was writing this and he'll probably get on yours too, arguing, choking (m. receiving), edging, cunnilingus, a little manhandling kinda, missionary, multiple instances of "i miss/ed you"
wc. 2k
Tumblr media
Suna tries his best to keep the shit-eating grin off his face when you text him to ask if he’s home.
He knew that voice message would get you. There was a tiny voice in his head that told him it would be a monumental embarrassment if you didn’t, but it was drowned out by all the other voices in his head telling him to send, send, send, send.
His stomach turns with anticipation. He doesn’t even answer your question, just orders an Uber and sends you the car make and model and how long it will take to get to your apartment. 6 minutes. And then 12 minutes from yours to his.
He fishes out the fancy santal candle he knows you like from beneath the bathroom sink and lights it in his bedroom. Then he brushes his teeth and puts some music on and waits.
He jumps when the doorbell rings.
There’s a moment of silence when he opens the door, the two of you just looking at each other. It hits Suna that this is the first time he’s seen you in person in months. He used to see you everyday. There's a part of his chest that seems to ache at the realization. He ignores it.
“Hi,” you breathe.
He blinks once. Twice. “Hey.” He opens the door a little wider and shifts to the side so you can come in.
You take one step closer and then stop, eyeing him with unjust suspicion. “I didn’t come over here to fuck you.”
Suna takes one look at your outfit—shorts that are definitely too short to be comfortable in this chilly fall weather and a sweatshirt he’s pretty sure is his—and knows you’re lying. He doesn’t call you out, just grins and shrugs and ushers you inside anyway.
You lean against the kitchen counter to survey the living room, pleased to see that it looks exactly the same as the last time you were here. Suna’s still standing by the door when you look at him again, arms crossed.
“So why’d you come over?” he asks.
It’s your turn to shrug. “You said you missed me.”
“Did I?”
You give him a sideways look. “You did.” You drag out the two words, nodding slowly and widening your eyes as if you’re speaking to a child.
Suna tilts his head to the side, smiling a little. “What else did I say?”
Oh lord. You should’ve known he’d be annoying about it. You shift your gaze up to the ceiling, pretending to struggle to remember even though you listened to his message several times, including once on the car ride over.
“You said you weren’t happy for me…which is pretty fucked up.”
Suna just rolls his eyes. “What else?”
Eyes on the ceiling again. “You said you liked my Halloween costume. And that if I had sex with you it wouldn’t count as cheating because I haven’t been with him that long.” You put air quotes around his claim, sliding your eyes back down to meet his.
He’s standing closer to you now than he was a minute ago, looking like he’s holding back a laugh. “Now that part’s fucked up. Where is the boyfriend, by the way?”
You make a face and look at the time on the microwave. “Probably home. Probably asleep.”
“Yeah? How’s he doing?” He closes what’s left of the gap between you and tugs on the drawstring of your (his) sweatshirt to even out both ends.
“Fine…” you whisper, breath hitching when his hand brushes your ear on the way to your hoodie.
He hums after fixing the string and walks towards his bedroom, tapping your bare thigh as he passes you as a silent cue to follow.
You realize that he doesn’t believe your intentions for coming over are pure, which is true, but you don’t like that he didn’t even pretend to believe you.
You follow his lead anyway, resting your head against the doorframe and watching him fish his phone out of his pocket and dump it on his desk. He sits on the edge of the bed and looks over at you with his eyebrows raised.
“I told you I just came over here to talk,” you snap.
Suna’s response is automatic. “No, you said you didn’t come over here to fuck.”
“Rin.”
He puts his hands up in mock surrender. “Sorry.” He leans forward, setting his elbows on his knees and his hands beneath his chin. “Alright. Talk.”
“You’re so fucking annoying,” you mutter. “I shouldn’t have come.” You twist your foot to turn around and immediately hear the bed creak with relief. Suna wraps his hand around your wrist before you can fully turn your back.
“Wait, I’m sorry,” he says. “Stay. Please?”
He sounds like he’s begging. He looks like he’s begging, with his slumped shoulders and pleading eyes and desperation written all over his pretty face.
It’s not enough.
“My boyfriend doesn’t taunt me like this, you know,” you tell him, indignant.
Suna’s grip on your arms loosens as his face falls a bit.
You continue. “He’s actually nice to me. And he’s romantic. Treats me like royalty.”
You watch Suna’s jaw tick. His hand returns to his side. “He’s boring.”
“He’s steady.”
Suna’s tone grows terse. “Dull. Stale. Bland. Vanilla.”
“Stable and secure and safe.”
Suna snorts. “Safe,” he repeats, sarcastic. “I seriously don’t get how you can date him.”
“Because he’s my boyfriend who I love and not just some guy I used to fuck when I was lonely.”
It’s a low blow. You and Suna were friends long before the benefits came along. Good friends. Close friends.
If he’s offended he doesn’t show it, just latches on to the first part of your sentence. “You don’t love him.”
He’s right. “You’re wrong.”
“Really? Why are you here then?” He narrows his eyes. “And don’t say it’s because I said I missed you.”
You’re not sure when you started taking steps forward, or when Suna started moving backwards, but his calves hit the edge of the bed and suddenly he’s sitting again, looking up at you with that infuriating self-righteousness that makes your eye twitch.
And then your hand is squeezing his throat and your lips are on his and you’re straddling him and moaning into his mouth.
You feel him start to smile against you before he pulls away.
He opens his mouth to speak, but you beat him to it. “Don’t fucking say anything,” you tell him, before tugging his face towards you neck.
You can tell Suna’s still smiling, but he obeys, sucking the tender spot right above your collarbone without another word. His hands find the bottom of your sweatshirt and he pulls it up.
His lips leave your skin and your hand leaves his neck so you can take your arms out of the sleeves and he can yank it over your head and drop it on the floor. Then he rests his hands on your hips and just looks at you.
Goosebumps dance across your shoulders and arms. Suna wants to comment on how you're not wearing a bra but he doesn’t, just continues to stare.
“What?” you ask.
He takes in the sight of you on top of him, the rise and fall of your chest—quicker than normal, a side effect of him riling you up. He revels in the weight of you on his legs and tries to recall the last time you had him beneath you like this. Your birthday? His birthday? Or maybe it was that time he tried to cheer you up after you got laid off. Either way, it’s been a long time and he hates to think about how you’ve probably been doing this with your boyfriend instead of him.
He can’t help himself. “You straddle the boyfriend like this?”
You huff and press your palm to his chest, shoving him onto his back. Your face hovers over his. “What are you gonna do if I say yes?”
Suna studies your face and puts his hands around your waist and beams. It’s the only signal you get before he flips you, putting your head on a pillow and taking his own shirt off before he drops it on the ground somewhere near your hoodie.
You prop yourself up on your elbows, glancing at the hard outline growing in his sweats as you trail your fingertips up his thigh. He leans into you and rests his forehead against yours.
“I missed you,” he says softly.
Your heart beats at a concerning speed. “I know.”
He gets up from the bed and snaps the waistband of your shorts before telling you to take them off and removing the rest of his own clothes. When he crouches over you again, you place the sole of your foot flat against him and tut.
“You also said you’d do that thing I like with your tongue.”
Again, Suna chooses not to comment. He wonders how many times you listened to the message, because it’s sounding like more than once, more than a couple. He grabs your ankles and drags you down the bed, forcing a giggle out of your throat before he plants his head between your legs.
He circles your clit, avoiding making contact with it directly and making teasing strokes with his fingers until you’re panting and quivering and making shaky demands for him to let you come on his tongue. When he does, you scream his name.
“Music to my fucking ears,” he says under his breath, licking your slick off his lips. “You scream this loud for him too?”
You can't believe you forgot how aggravating he is. “Shut up and fuck me.”
He looks so smug. You start to think that the desperation from before was too short-lived, until he’s inside you and you’re filled with him and that familiar need that makes you wrap your legs around him and claw at his back.
All you can think about is how you miss him and you missed this, and you’re telling him to fuck you harder, and then his mouth is right below your ear and his hair is tickling your cheek and a stream of yes’s and Rin’s are tumbling out of your mouth like dominoes and youre trying to pull him impossibly closer and youre so surrounded by him that its dizzying and youre whispering i miss you in his ear and hoping it doesnt sound like i love you and hes saying i miss you too and youre wondering if he really means i love you too and then youre biting into his shoulder and—
You lose count of how many times you come. Both of you do. The two of you are coated in sweat, laying on damp sheets in a room that now smells like sex and sandalwood. Neither of you speak, busy catching your breath and being lost in thought. You don’t want to say anything, afraid you’ll break the spell.
You didn’t have to worry about that, though, because you hear your phone ping loudly and realize it’s on the floor, still tucked away in the front pocket of your sweatshirt. Suna turns his head towards you.
“You should break up with him.”
You raise an eyebrow at the seriousness in his voice and sigh. “I know.”
“Today.”
A pause. “Okay.”
There’s another moment where none of you speak. And then–
“You should date me instead.”
You turn to face him and the earnestness in his expression catches you so off guard you have to look away again. It’s not that you never expected him to bring it up, you just hadn't expected him to sound so sincere when he did.
You had toyed with the idea before, a handful of times even, but everything between you two was so easy—why would you mess it up with a what are we? conversation? Although, you suppose you messed it up anyway by getting a boyfriend and ditching Suna without warning.
It takes you a long time to respond, long enough that Suna starts to game plan an exit strategy, but then you meet his gaze again.
“Okay.”

“s’alright, i’ve got it,” is like insanely hotter when it’s things that are mundane.
like opening a ridiculously tight jar of pickles that you’ve been struggling with, or trying to find the end of the tape for you cuz you swear you can’t feel the damn thing, or bending down to pick up something you’ve dropped, or taking over the dicing of onions cuz you’re starting to tear-up, or reaching over to pass you the remote control when it’s too far from your grasp, or fluffing up the throw blanket over you just at the sight of the slightest tremor, or shaking your wet umbrella for you while you dig through your pockets for the keys.
like, they’re things that you can do. things that he knows you can do, but he just– he loves taking care of you.
and it’s not like he’s even doing this consciously. it was something like second nature to him – taking over when things have become even the slightest of inconvenience for you.
hell, you didn’t even know it was a thing until your friend pointed it out—
“john’s really nurturing, ain’t he?”
the words were not made with ill intent nor were they judgy, and were rather just honest with open curiosity like it was unexpected; like this familiarity of john taking over and you folding yourself into him was…
unusual.
all you could do was nod, your mind racing at all instances and finding it in you that you love him like that. so attentive. so ready to help and to be of service and to spoil, no matter how banal.
god. how could you have ever been so lucky, huh?
(or or: older man john price with daddy issues but through your eyes.)

Tumblr media
Spencer Reid was practically buzzing with excitement. A smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he walked down the street, clutching a book he'd been waiting months to get his hands on.
But what thrilled him even more than the book itself was where he was headed—and who he was about to see.
You.
You were his favorite person in the world, the one who made the chaos of his job and his overactive mind feel calm, centered, and safe.
Tonight, he planned to settle into your cozy apartment, his head in your lap, your fingers combing through his hair, while he read the book he’d ordered ages ago. The thought alone was enough to make his steps quicken.
Spencer’s long legs carried him up the stairs to your apartment, his mind preoccupied with his excitement to tell you all about his book. When he reached your door, he pulled out the key you'd given him months ago—a small gesture that still warmed his heart whenever he thought about it—and let himself in.
He was so caught up in his thoughts that he barely registered anything else. Such as Penelope's shoes at the door or her jacket.
A soft hum escaped his lips as he closed the door behind him, kicking it shut gently with his foot.
Spencer took off his shoes, leaving them by the door , same with his jacket. He moved with a deliberate quietness, tiptoeing toward the kitchen. A soft smile danced on his lips as he peeked around the corner, watching you stand there with your back to him.
Without hesitation, he stepped closer and slid his arms gently around your waist from behind, pressing a tender kiss to your temple. His touch was warm and familiar, showing how much he had missed you.
“Hi,” he murmured, his voice soft and full of affection.
You jumped at the sudden contact, startled, your body going stiff as a flicker of panic surged through you.
“Spencer, wait—” you started, your voice just above a whisper, but he was gazing at you with that sweet, boyish smile that always made your heart stutter.
“What’s wrong?” he asked, his expression soft and utterly oblivious to your alarm.
You stared at him, momentarily distracted by how happy he looked. The way his eyes crinkled at the corners, the adoration in his gaze—it made your mind go blank for a second.
“Hi,” he repeated softly, leaning in to nuzzle his face against your cheek.
And then it hit you again. Oh, no.
“Spencer,” you hissed, your voice dropping to a sharp whisper as you heard a faint noise from the other room.
“What?” he asked, his brow furrowing in confusion.
“Penelope is here,” you whispered urgently, your hands moving to grip his forearms.
His entire body tensed as the words sank in. “What?” he asked again, his voice an octave higher this time, his expression shifting from confusion to alarm.
“Yes,” you whispered , glancing nervously toward the living room. “She’s here. She’s in the other room!”
For a split second, Spencer froze, and you could feel the wave of panic rolling through him. His arms slackened slightly, his gaze darting between you and the doorway.
“You didn’t mention she’d be here tonight!” he whispered back, his voice tinged with borderline panic.
“I wasn’t expecting you so early!” you shot back, keeping your voice low.
He stared at you, wide-eyed, and for a moment, you were pretty sure this was one of the rare instances where Spencer Reid was completely speechless.
His mouth opened as if to say something, but nothing came out.
Another noise from the living room broke the tense silence, and you immediately wriggled out of his touch, your mind racing for a solution.
“Just say you came to, uh…” you started, your voice trailing off as you tried to conjure up an excuse.
“Give you a book,” Spencer interjected suddenly, his voice quiet but urgent. He held up the hardcover like it was a golden ticket. “I got the book I told you about. I wanted to read it here, actually.”
You noticed the way he scratched the back of his head nervously. It was so endearing, your heart ached a little. He’d clearly been looking forward to spending the evening with you.
“I’m sorry,” you said softly, your lips curling into an apologetic smile as you reached out to brush your fingers lightly against his arm. “I promise, you’ll get to read it soon.”
“With you,” he added quickly, his eyes meeting yours.
“With me,” you confirmed, the tenderness in his gaze making you momentarily forget about the storm brewing in the next room.
And then Penelope’s voice rang out from the living room:
“Why do you have two toothbrushes in here?”
Both of you froze. Spencer’s eyes widened comically, and you watched as a flash of panic spread across his face.
You stifled a laugh, your shoulders shaking slightly at his frantic attempt to keep it together.
Meanwhile, Penelope’s footsteps grew louder.
“Just… stay calm,” you whispered, biting your lip to keep from giggling outright. “Stay calm?” Spencer whispered back, clutching the book like a shield. “She’s about to start connecting the dots, and you want me to stay calm?”
Before you could respond, Penelope’s voice cut through the silence once again.
“I require an answer—” she started, but the rest of her words caught in her throat the moment her eyes landed on Spencer standing there, wide-eyed and awkward.
“Well, hello there,” she said, her expression shifting into a sly smile as she tilted her head.
Spencer froze like a deer in headlights, his grip on the book tightening. Meanwhile, you stood rooted to the spot, trying to keep your own expression neutral, though your mind was scrambling for a way to diffuse the situation.
“I—uh—I came here to drop off a… book,” Spencer stammered, holding up the hardcover like it was an offering of peace.
Penelope arched an eyebrow, her smile widening as she crossed her arms and leaned against the doorway. “How thoughtful of you, Doctor Reid,” she said, her tone dripping with playful suspicion. “I assume this was a very urgent delivery, considering you brought it over in person and not, you know, gave it to her tomorrow. At work.”
Spencer blinked, clearly flustered, and glanced at you for help. You, however, couldn’t suppress a small grin as you watched this unfold.
“It’s, uh… a very special book,” he continued, his voice cracking slightly. “Rare. Hard to find. I thought she’d appreciate it sooner rather than later.”
Penelope’s eyes sparkled with amusement as she stepped a little closer, clearly enjoying how nervous he was. “Uh-huh,” she said slowly, her gaze flicking between the two of you. “And how long were you planning on staying for this… literary exchange?”
“Not long!” Spencer blurted out, his voice a bit too loud. “I was just… going to, uh…”
You bit back a laugh as you saw the panic flood his face. Spencer was completely unraveling under Penelope’s relentless curiosity, and you figured it was time to step in.
“Pen,” you interrupted, holding up a hand to stop her. “Stop torturing him. He did just come by to drop off a book. Isn’t that right, Spence?”
“Y-yes,” Spencer stammered, nodding furiously.
“Perfect,” you said smoothly, placing a hand on his arm and giving him a reassuring squeeze. “Spencer, why don’t you just go put the book in my room?”
His eyes flicked to yours, and he nodded again, clearly grateful for the lifeline. Without another word, he hurried down the hallway toward your room, clutching the book.
As soon as Spencer disappeared down the hallway, Penelope turned back to you, her grin widening, a mischievous glint dancing in her eyes.
“Spencer is here,” she stated flatly, her smile never wavering.
“I’m very aware of that,” you replied, giving her a pointed look. You tried your best to keep your composure, but the urge to nervously tap your fingers on the counter was almost overwhelming.Something about Penelope's tone was starting to make you uneasy, and you were unsure of what direction this was going.
“He’s in your home,” she added again, this time stretching out the words like they were some sort of grand revelation.
“Pen,” you said slowly, raising an eyebrow as you turned to face her. Your confusion was now shifting into something else. The two cups of tea you’d made earlier sat forgotten on the counter.
You heard Spencer’s footsteps approaching from the hallway, and as he rounded the corner back into the kitchen, Penelope’s eyes followed him like a hawk, never missing a beat.
“And he knows where your room is,” she added, her grin spreading wider than ever.
The words hung in the air for a moment, and you were pretty sure you and Spencer came to the same realization at the exact same time.
Penelope had caught you.
Your heart skipped a beat as you watched Spencer freeze mid-step, his expression going blank as his eyes flicked to Penelope, and then back to you. There was no hiding it now.
You could practically hear the wheels turning in his mind.
“Penelope” you started, but the words caught in your throat as you tried to process everything in a split second.
You turned to Spencer, locking eyes with him, silently begging him to help you come up with something—anything that could smooth this over. But Spencer just stood there, wide-eyed and frozen, clearly as baffled as you were.
Before either of you could find an excuse, Penelope let out an ear-piercing screech, making you flinch and almost slap your hands over your ears.
“Oh my god!” she yelled, practically vibrating with excitement as she realized what your silence meant. She started hopping up and down. “I’m so happy for you!”
“Penelope—” you tried again, your voice edged with panic, but she wasn’t listening.
“Oh my god,” she repeated, this time slower, her tone laced with dramatic revelation. Her hand shot out, pointing directly at Spencer like she’d just solved a crime.
“You!” she exclaimed, her eyes darting back and forth between the two of you. “Do you… live here?”
You and Spencer both froze, exchanging a quick, panicked glance. Before either of you could deny it, Penelope’s eyes widened.
“There were two toothbrushes,” she said, gasping like she’d just remembered something crucial. “Oh my god.” Her voice grew louder, each word building with excitement. “You live here!”
“Penelope, no, it’s not like—” you started, holding your hands out in a desperate attempt to calm her down, but she barreled right over your words.
“Don’t even try to deny it!” she nearly shouted, spinning around to face Spencer again.
Spencer, who had been awkwardly clutching his book to his chest like a shield, took a small step back as if he could physically escape Penelope’s relentless questioning. “I… I don’t live here,” he stammered weakly, though even he sounded unconvinced.
Penelope narrowed her eyes at him, a grin still plastered across her face. “Uh-huh. Sure. That’s why there are two toothbrushes in the bathroom. Oh! And don’t think I didn’t notice the extra pair of shoes by the door. Size 10 men’s, Spence!”
You groaned, pressing a hand to your forehead as you felt your face flush with heat. This wasn’t just a confrontation anymore—this was a full-blown exposé.
Penelope narrowed her eyes at you, her mind clearly racing as she tried to piece everything together. “How long has this been going on? How did I miss this? I mean, I am the queen of observation and gossip, and somehow you two snuck this right under my nose?” She started rambling, her words spilling out faster than either of you could respond.
You shot a desperate look at Spencer, silently pleading for backup, but he just stood there wide-eyed.
Realizing you were on your own, you sighed and grabbed one of the tea cups sitting on the counter. It was lukewarm at best, but you needed something to focus on before Penelope’s intensity made your head spin.
“Okay, come on,” you said, cutting through her rambling as gently as you could. You gestured toward the counter and guided her to sit on one of the stools. She followed you without protest, though she kept muttering under her breath, her curiosity clearly not yet satisfied.
Spencer hovered behind you like an awkward shadow, his book still clutched to his chest like a lifeline.
Penelope took the tea you handed her, sipping it absentmindedly. Her face scrunched slightly at the taste—it was cold and bitter by now—but she was too busy overthinking to notice or care.
Spencer leaned down slightly, his lips brushing close to your ear as he whispered, “Is she… okay?”
You fought back a laugh, biting your lip to suppress the grin that threatened to spread across your face. Tilting your head just enough to glance back at him over your shoulder, you whispered, “I think she’s broken.”
A soft laugh escaped Spencer, his smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he looked at you, his expression so warm and full of affection that your heart skipped a beat.
Before you could get lost in the moment, a loud, happy sigh broke the bubble around you both.
The two of you snapped your attention back to Penelope, who was now sitting with her elbows propped on the counter, her chin resting in her hands as she gazed at you with a dreamy, contented smile.
“I knew it,” she declared, her voice brimming with satisfaction. “I knew there was something between you two. But this… this is better than anything I could have imagined. It’s like a rom-com came to life right in front of me.”
Spencer scratched the back of his neck, his face flushing an impressive shade of pink. “I don’t think it’s as dramatic as you’re making it sound,” he said awkwardly.
Penelope gasped theatrically, pointing a finger at him. “That’s where you’re wrong, Doctor Reid. This is exactly as dramatic as I’m making it sound. I mean, look at you two! It’s disgustingly adorable. I don’t even care that you didn’t tell me sooner. I forgive you, because this—” she gestured wildly between the two of you, “—was worth the wait.”
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t help laughing as Spencer shifted uncomfortably, clearly unsure of how to respond to her enthusiasm.
“This has been a wonderful night,” she said dramatically, clasping her hands together like she was narrating a fairytale.
“Penelope,” you said, finally admitting defeat, “you cannot tell anyone.”
Her expression shifted to an exaggerated pout, her brow furrowing as she looked between you and Spencer. You could feel his hand settle on the small of your back.
“But why?” she whined, her tone bordering on indignant. “This is huge! People need to know about this. Do you realize how many people on the team have been secretly hoping for this to happen?”
You sighed, glancing at Spencer for support. He gave you a small shrug, clearly as stumped as you were.
“It’s… it’s just that we’d prefer to keep this private for now,” you explained, trying to sound firm but gentle.
“Exactly,” Spencer echoed softly, speaking for the first time since Penelope had pieced everything together.
Her gaze flicked to him, and for a moment, her excitement dimmed slightly. She studied the two of you, her expression softer now, almost understanding.
“Okay,” she muttered, though it was clear she wasn’t thrilled. “Fine. I won’t say anything. For now.”
You let out a small breath of relief, but it was short-lived as she hopped off the counter with a dramatic flourish. “Well, you two lovebirds have a beautiful evening,” she said, her voice sing-songy again as she grabbed her bag.
“Penelope, hey—wait,” you called after her, guilt creeping in. “You don’t have to leave.”
She stopped mid-step, turning back to look at you with raised eyebrows. “Oh, I definitely do,” she said, waving a finger in the air. “Because if I stay, I’ll just end up asking a million more questions or texting Derek, and you specifically told me not to do that. So, for the sake of your precious privacy, I’m going to remove myself from the situation.”
You opened your mouth to protest, but she cut you off with a knowing smile. “It’s fine,” she said softly, her tone genuine now. “I’ll leave you two alone. But just so you know, I’m very happy for you. And I mean that.”
Spencer gave her a small smile. “Thanks, Penelope.”
She beamed at him before turning back to you. “Oh, and one more thing—if you two keep this a secret forever, I will be mad. Just putting that out there.”
You chuckled, shaking your head. “Noted.”
She practically skipped to the wardrobe by the door. Both you and Spencer followed her, Spencer instinctively reaching for her jacket before she could even ask.
“Thank you, loverboy,” she said with a teasing lilt as she accepted the jacket from him. Spencer’s ears turned a vivid shade of red, the flush creeping all the way up his neck.
You couldn’t help but smile at the interaction, the fondness in your expression impossible to hide. Lightly squeezing Spencer’s hand, you felt his fingers tighten around yours in response.
Penelope caught the moment, her grin widening as she shrugged on her jacket. “Oh, you two are going to kill me with how cute you are. I swear, I’m going to need to schedule a therapy session after this—just to process the sheer amount of joy.”
As she finished putting on her shoes, she looked up at the two of you, her expression turning more serious. “But really—thank you for letting me in on this, even if it wasn’t exactly intentional.”
You smiled warmly at her, wanting to make up for the messed up night. “How about we do this tomorrow?” you suggested, hoping to ease her disappointment at cutting the night short.
Penelope’s eyes lit up instantly. “Oh, yes! I’m going to need all the details. No sparing me the juicy bits, okay?” she said, pointing a playful finger at you.
“Totally,” you replied with a small laugh, glad to see her mood lift again.
“Well, I’m off now,” she announced dramatically, stepping toward you with open arms. You hugged her tightly, murmuring another soft, “Sorry,” into her shoulder.
“Oh, stop that,” she chided gently, pulling back to give you a reassuring smile. Then, turning to Spencer, she reached out to lightly squeeze his arm. “And you,” she added with a teasing grin, “take care of our girl.”
Spencer flushed, the tips of his ears turning pink, but he managed a small, shy smile. “I will,” he said softly, his voice sincere.
Satisfied, Penelope gave a little wave as she turned to the door. “Goodnight, lovebirds! And don’t forget—I’m expecting details tomorrow.”
“Goodnight, Penelope,” you both called after her in unison.
As soon as the door clicked shut, you and Spencer turned to face each other, locking eyes for a brief moment before bursting into laughter.
“We are so dead,” you said between chuckles, shaking your head.
“She’s going to tell everyone,” Spencer added, though his tone wasn’t nearly as panicked as before.
You looked at him, your smile softening as the laughter subsided. “How about you go grab your book?” you suggested, tilting your head toward the hallway.
Spencer didn’t hesitate. He spun on his heel and practically bolted to your room, moving so quickly it was almost comical. You let out another small chuckle, shaking your head fondly as you made your way to the couch.
Settling down into your usual spot, you pulled a throw blanket over your legs and adjusted the cushions, making yourself comfortable. Moments later, Spencer returned, his book clutched in one hand. He stood there for a moment, looking at you with a contented smile, as though this quiet, simple moment was all he needed.
“Come here,” you said gently, patting your lap.
He didn’t need to be told twice. Spencer crossed the room and settled onto the couch, stretching out and laying his head in your lap. Your fingers found their way to his hair instinctively, weaving through the soft strands in a familiar, soothing motion.
This was your routine, one you’d both fallen into, it felt like second nature. Spencer opened his book, the faint rustle of the pages filling the quiet space.
After a few minutes, you broke the quiet. “Are you mad about Pen finding out?” you asked softly, your fingers brushing gently through his hair, pushing back the curls that had fallen into his eyes.
“What? No,” he replied, tilting his head slightly to look up at you, his gaze full of warmth.
You smiled at his response, but his curious expression prompted him to ask, “Why? Is it upsetting you?”
You shook your head, a quiet laugh escaping as you glanced down at him. “No, no. Just a bit worried about how obvious she’s going to be when we get back to work,” you admitted, shifting your gaze to the wall in front of you as your fingers continued their soothing path through his hair.
Spencer gently touched your wrist, his fingers warm against your skin. “Well, she’s gonna be plenty obvious, but is that really such a bad thing?” he asked, his voice soft but thoughtful. He paused for a moment before adding, I mean… I wouldn’t mind if they knew about us.”
His words made you stop for a second, and you looked down at him, your smile widening. “You wouldn’t?” you asked, surprised but clearly pleased by his honesty.
“No,” he said, his voice quiet. Finally, he met your gaze, and there was a vulnerability in his eyes that made your heart flutter.
You resumed your gentle motions in his hair, feeling comforted by his sincerity. “Well, in that case,” you murmured, “tell me about your book.”
And just like that, the shift in conversation had Spencer smiling like a child, his excitement clear as he started to rave about it, his voice animated and his eyes lighting up. You couldn’t help but smile at how easily he could lose himself in something that made him happy.
You listened intently, absently running your fingers through his hair as he spoke, savoring this little piece of your routine with him.
