finally (mostly) done with the admin side of my final project! that took longer than i had hoped. but i can now finally fully focus on my last exam(s)! and i will need to because i'm so far behind the study schedule.
i made a portobello mushroom burger myself for the first time. it was really tasty :)
#studying#physics#university#studyblr#also my landlord's electrician friend finally came round to look at a component in the fuse box that had been making#a very very annoying rattling sound#(i had used the workaround of taking the fuse out and just connecting everything by extension cables to the unaffected plug sockets)#and he was able to fix it in like fifteen minutes#so i can now use all my lights again and the extension cables are back in storage#it feels like i'm in a new flat#it's so nice#and i'm finally getting closer to fully recovering from the lurgy

Overview of some topics when it comes to drawing characters who are burn survivors.
DISCLAIMER. Please keep in mind that this is an introductory overview for drawing some burn scars and has a lot of generalizations in it, so not every “X is Z” statement will be true for Actual People. I'm calling this introductory because I hope to get people to actually do their own research before drawing disabled & visibly different characters rather than just making stuff up. Think of it as a starting point and take it with a grain of salt (especially if you have a very different art style from mine).
Talking about research and learning... don't make your burn survivor characters evil. Burn survivors are normal people and don't deserve to be constantly portrayed in such a way.

my family is fucking addicted to macgyvering and it's becoming a problem. every time something in this house breaks, instead of doing the sensible thing of replacing it or calling someone qualified to fix it, we all group around the offending object with a manic look in our eyes and everyone gets a try at fixing it while being cheered on or ridiculed by the rest.
it's a beautiful bonding activity, but the "creative" fixes have turned our house into a quasihaunted escape room like contraption where everything works, but only in the wonkiest of ways. you need a huge block of iron to turn on the stove. the oven only works if a specific clock is plugged in. the bread machine has a huge wood block just stapled to it that has become foundational to its function. sometimes when you use the toaster the doorbell rings. and that's just the kitchen.
it's all fun and games until you have guests over and you have to lay out the rules of the house like it's a fucking board game. welcome to the beautiful guest room. don't pull out the couch yourself you need a screwdriver for that, and that metal rod makes the lamp work so don't move it. it also made me a terrifying roommate in college, because it makes me think i can fix anything with enough hubris and a drill. you want to call the landlord about a leaky faucet? as if. one time my dad made me install a new power socket because we ran our of extension cords
#this post was inspired by me using a screwdriver to take the broiler off the wall because the warm water stopped working#while my dad went well there is only cables in there. who are we if we dont find our ways around some cables#damn right!!!!

I hate looking for a new computer mouse like. why is it this complicated and also why aren't you giving me the things I need. all I want is a silent, ergonomic, wired mouse. WHY IS IT ALL WIRELESS. I DON'T WANT TO WORRY ABT CHARGING MY MOUSE MAN THAT SEEMS DUMB.
#look i know realistically if i do get a wireless mouse and it needs to charge i can just use my current wired mouse while it does#but that just seems so fucking annoying out of the way yknow#especially since my cables on my computer are fucked up because my uncle set it up and to plug things into my computer i need to kneel down#on the floor and then move my desk a little so i can jam my hand back behind my computer and hope i plug it into the right slot#all while HOPING my extension cord doesn't fall out of the fucking wall because the socket is extremely loose because MY HOUSE WAS MADE 100#FUCKING YEARS AGO#AND IF THE EXTENSION CORD COMES OUT OF THE SOCKET THEN MY COMPUTER RESTARTS AND GETS REALLY ANGRY AT ME#AND IT FREAKS ME OUT EVERY TIME BECAUSE I GET WORRIED THAT IF I DO IT ENOUGH IT'LL HARD RESET.#AND I HAVE TAPES THE PLUG INTO THE SOCKET WITH MY TRANS TAPE BUT IDK HOW WELL IT HOLDS MAN.#GAH I FUCKING HATE DEALING WITH COMPUTER SHIT I JUST WANT TO USE IT AND NOT HSVE PEOBLEMS LIKE THIS

I'm really tired and just wanna go to sleep but I got stuff in the dehydrator and I don't want to leave it running overnight. Normally I wouldn't care (I'd let my old one fun for 10 hours straight), but even though it has thousands of positive reviews, this one kinda terrifies me:
